Three Ghastly Friends

by Theary Chea on Aug 22 2022
Hello friends! It's Theary back on the blog again today. I am excited to share this fun card I created using some of the new products from the August 2022 release. If you haven't checked out the release, you can do so here. There's something about the fall seasons that makes me so warm inside. I love the fall colors and all of the fall decors, but I love the holidays that fall around the fall season. For example, Halloween! I love this holiday, and this release has many fantastic products for the occasion. I am sharing this card I created using the Three Ghastly Friends die set. This die set includes three ghost silhouettes perfect for any Halloween card. And, the price point is excellent! Plus, it was SUPER easy to make!  I used the dies and ran them through my die-cutting machine out of white card stock. I then went in with my Life Changing Blender Brushes and blended a few shades of ink onto each of the die-cuts. For the background, I used Paper Glitz in Black Rainbow and applied that to the Shadows of Leaves stencil with my Mixed Media Spatula. After the paper glaze dried, I popped the colorful ghosts onto the panel with foam squares. I then heat embossed the sentiment onto black card stock and trimmed it down before I placed it onto my card panel. The paper glitz in the background created such a nice touch to the card design. The camera did not catch all the amazing shine and sparkle from the glitz. This card was super easy to make and I hope you give it a try! And, please don't forget to come to visit me on Instagram or YouTube for full tutorial videos with products from this release. Until next time,Theary Chea

Here for all the Boos card.

by Evgeniya Ishbul’dina on Aug 19 2022
Hello there! Eugy here and I’m super excited to share with you my Halloween theme card today! I started my project creating a background by blending some bright Halloween theme colors with the Life Changing Blender Brushes. After that, I added some dimension using the Slim Line Cauldron of Bats Stencil and new mixed media product called Paper Glaze Velvet - Blackboard. Oh, I'm in love with this new paste, it's so easy to use and so pleasant to the touch when it's dry! Than I die-cutted a spooky tree using standalone A2 Spooky Tree Die and finally stamped and colored tiny ghosts from the Here for all the Boos stamp set. All I had to do was add a sentiment from the Fancy Autumn Sentiments stamp set and my card was ready! There have been a few changes in the Picked Fence Studios Facebook Community, stay tuned! Happy crafting and have a great weekend! Eugy

Hello there! It´s Silvana here and I´m so glad to be here again in the Picket Fence Studios. Today I´m sharing an interactive Halloween scene card featuring some new products of the new release. The first product I used was the A2 Spooky Tree die which I cut in a textured black cardstock and panel the little houses with vellum paper. This card has lights behind the house that turnoson when you press the Halloween word. I ink blended the background to make the night scene with the moon. With the Life changing Blender Brushes the transitions between colors are smooth and well integrated.  Then I used then new A2 Cauldron of Bats stencil with the new Paper Glaze Velvet in Blackboard color.  The word Halloween is heat embossed with white embossing powder and it comes from the new Cat plays Fiddle to the Silver Moon stamp set.  I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed making it! If you want to see the lights in action, be sure to check the post in my Ig account. Thanks for stopping by. See you in my next post, Silvana.

by Laura Nistal on Aug 17 2022
Hello everyone!! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this Christmas card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "Build me a Gingerbread House" Stamps set that I stamped with "Black Hybrid ink pad" on a white cardboard using it as a background. Then I painted all the images with alcohol markers and then with a white marker I glossed it to make it stand out. Then I glued the white cardboard on top of a black one to make a frame. For the sentiment i use the "Goody Goody Gumdrops" Stamps which I stamped with white ink on a black cardboard. And this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store. I remind you that we have the 7 on 7 with a chance every day to win a nice prize!!! Run to see it!! A huge kiss and until next time! Laura

A Sympathy Card and a Word About Ink Swatching

by Nancy Thomas on Aug 10 2022
Hello fellow crafters! Nancy here with a card and a bit of ink swatching talk.  I am sure I am not alone when I say one of the hardest type of cards to make are sympathy cards. In my humble opinion, a clean and simple design works best. In keeping with the CAS design choice, I used the inlaid die technique for this card, using the mat portion of the More Ash Leaves Dies to cut from a stitched white linen rectangle cardstock piece. This piece was layered over rock candy cardstock. I then cut the top portion of the leaves from off white cardstock and blended iced spruce and bundled sage oxide ink over them using some of the smaller brushes from the Life Changing Blender Brushes. These were then inlaid into the opening spaces. Lastly, I stamped a sentiment from the versatile Fancy Life Events Sentiments set using Versamark ink, white heat embossed and then cut out with the matching die.  Note the ink swatches in the above photo. I was delighted to find the Ink Swatching stamp in my design team box this month.  Since I have so many inks, I needed a quick and easy way to swatch. An 8.5 x 11 cardstock sheet yielded ten 2 x 4.25 inch pieces which fit the stamp perfectly with room to spare. I did my ink swatching assembly style in order to save time. The above photo was my setup. The stamp set includes four hearts to use with different color families and a separate hole stamp to mark where to punch a hole. For my purposes, I snipped off one of the hearts and I used the hole stamp to indicate the type of ink. I worked on a prototype which showed me how to place the stamps in the Misti. I first stamped the main ink swatch image using the PFS Black Hybrid Ink Pad onto my cardstock piece. I then moved the cardstock piece up into the upper right hand corner and stamped the heart twice in my ink color as well as the dot to indicate the type of ink. A baby wipe cleaned off the heart and dot and I was ready to do another.   The Ink Swatching stamp is versatile and can be used in different ways that work for you. For example, check out Bonnie's method. She even included a video. Nicole Peterson, the owner of Picket Fence Studios took another route by simply swiping the ink pad across the top of the stamped piece. Very easy and quick.  Happy ink organizing!

Clean and Simple five-minute cards

by Evgeniya Ishbul’dina on Jul 29 2022

Happy Friday! Eugy here, today I’m sharing some Clean and Simple card ideas using the Fancy Life Events Sentiments stamp set (it has coordinating dies!) and other gorgeous products from the July release. All of my cards were super easy to make! But first, just a little reminder that we have a Flash Sale on site (exclude the July release). I made my first card using heart stamp from Ink Swatching stamp set. I was so excited to try this new stamp and I found it’s super fun and easy to use - I already created swatches for all my “inks for stamping”! After I stamped my background, I added a sentiment and some glitter cardstock. Voila, my card is ready! To get beautifully blended two-tone gradient impressions, I used Life Changing Blender Brushes to blend ink before stamping. And the best thing about Fancy Life Events Sentiments stamp set is that it has coordinating dies! For my second card, I prepared the card base by coloring it using ink pad technique. After that, I simply diecutted a white card panel with new gorgeous Opulent Negative Strip Die and mounted it on my pre-colored card base using 3d foam squares. The sentiment stamped in black ink seemed too bright to me, and I muted it with some pearl embossing powder. For my last card, I wanted something not usual, maybe some dry embossing effect. So I embossed white A2 panel with new Opulent Negative Strip Die (I use a standard sandwich for Cuttlebug), added colorful sentiment and some crystals for an extra sparkle. As you can see, all those cards can be done in five minutes! Go check out the entire July release or Flash Sale! Happy crafting and have a great weekend! Eugy

A Mum shaker card

by Silvana Chambon Scarenzio on Jul 28 2022
Hi, everyone! It´s Silvana here from Casa Magnolia and I´m so happy to be for the first time in the Picket Fence Studios blog. Today I´m sharing a shaker card made with some new products of the July release and previous products. Picket Fence has this amazing A2 Full Front Shaker die to make shaker cards that makes it so easy! Just cut the acetate and you´ll have the perfect A2 size piece and the marks to fold and paste the flaps. Acetate can be tricky to fold but this die help us very much with that. For the back panel of the card I dry emboss an A2 size piece of cardstock with the new stencil Shadow of leaves. Then, I paste the diecut acetate panel and filled the shaker with the new Sequin Mix Yellow Bottlecap Flowers. The beautiful flower stamp is called A mum which I die cut with the coordinating die. I colored the stamp with Copic markers to combine with the sequin mix. The sentiment is from the new stamp set Fancy Life Events sentiments and its coordinating die. I heat emboss it with white embossing powder on black cardstock. Even though the card has some fall vibes, we can use it for any ocassion. It can be given with a wedding present or on a birthday party. I hope you like it! See you in my next post. Virtual hugs, Silvana.

More leaves Card by Laura

by Laura Nistal on Jul 27 2022
Hello everyone!! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this fall card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "More Maple Leaves", "More Oak Leaves" and "More Ash Leaves" dies that i cut on gold and black cardboard. Next I prepared the background: for this I cut the outside of the leaf dies and used them as a stencil. Then I randomly placed them in the background and painted them with Distress Oxide inks in earth tones. Then I was pasting the leaves on top, but with a little offset to give it a different touch. For the sentiment i cut the "Good day to you word" die on gold cardboard and placed it in the center of the card. And this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store.  A huge kiss and until next time! Laura

Is it Fall Yet?

by Nancy Thomas on Jul 20 2022
Nancy here today. It is so hot that I am already thinking of fall as you can see with these two cards using products from the July release. I cut three sizes of the More Maple Leaves dies from saffron spice and honey nut cardstock, then used my finger to lightly apply Coffee Beans and Autumn Leaves Paper Glaze Luxe for a bit of sparkle and shine. I used the A2 Scene Building Rectangle Two die to cut tangy orange cardstock twice, layered together, then attached over a patterned paper background creating a shaker in the upper right opening filled with pieces from the new Orange Bottlecap Flowers Sequin Mix. I stamped the sentiment from the Fancy Autumn Sentiments set with Versamark white heat embossed, cut out with the matching die and attached it to a white woodgrain background. Lastly, I wrapped cording around the image piece, added a few more sequins and attached to the card front.  Despite the fact that this is a clean and simple card, I managed to use quite a few Picket Fence Studios products. I started out by using the largest die from the More Oak Leaves to cut from three different colors of cardstock. I rubbed some Coffee Beans Paper Glaze Luxe onto the yellow gold leaf, Autumn Leaves Paper Glaze Luxe on the orange red leaf and Golden Sparkle Paper Glitz on the green leaf for a bit of sparkle. To prepare the background I turned the Slim Line Shadow of Leaves Stencil horizontally and lightly blended antique linen oxide ink onto the card front using a brush from the Life Changing Blender Brushes set. The sentiment from the Window Seat to the World was stamped directly onto the card front using rich cocoa ink. I attached the trio of leaves, gluing only at the bottom, nd anchoring with a button. A random scattering of sequins and clay pieces from the Woodlands Sequin Mix Plus finished it up. Aren't those tiny mushrooms adorable? Have you started your fall projects yet?
