Tankful for You

by Nancy Thomas on Jan 25 2023
Good morning crafty friends. Nancy here with a fish filled card.  First I did some two step stamping on three of the fish from the new O-fish-ally stamp set from the January release using cheeky/pucker, seafoam/ocean and celery/pearfection inks. All were cut with with the matching dies. I also cut pieces from the previously released Layering Flora: Leaves and Twigs die set from various colors of cardstock to represent ocean floor seaweed and other flora. For the background I masked off the upper portion and used a brush from the from the Life Changing Blender Brushes to blend on antique linen distress ink to represent the ocean floor or the bottom of a fish tank. I then partially stamped the new Scene Building: Sand using kraft ink. After masking again, I blended on seafoam ink to represent water and stamped the Sand image using surf ink. I assembled the scene then attached the sentiment from the O-fish-ally set which was stamped using surf ink and cut out with the matching die.    I hope you like this simple but colorful underwater scene.

Good morning. Nancy here transitioning out of Christmas card mode to the next big holiday of Valentine's Day with today's card. After stamping the new Picket Fence Studios Flow of Hearts onto Copic friendly cardstock, I cut out and framed with a die from the Slim Line Stitched and Scalloped Rectangles and Alpha Die Cutting System. Yes, that is a long name but there is a lot included in the die set. Next I stamped the sweet elephants from the previously released The Best Hugs Ever set onto Copic friendly cardstock, colored with Copic markers, then cut out with the matching die. I then stamped the sentiment onto a cherry kisses cardstock strip using Versamark ink and white heat embossed. A trio of sequins from the Poker Face Sequin Mix Plus provided a bit of sweet sparkle.  I hope your new year is off to a great start!

We are counting down the days to Christmas here at Picket Fence Studios by sharing a festive project each day leading up to the 25th. Nancy here with a holly filled card.  After stamping the gorgeous image from the Holly Jolly Christmas set onto Copic friendly cardstock, I cut out with the matching die and colored with Copic markers. For the background panel, I repeated the image by stamping onto a cherry kisses stitched edge cardstock piece using Versamark ink along with the sentiment and white heat embossed both. The stamped die cut was attached to the panel using a combo of glue and foam dimensionals. A few sequins from the Dancing Reindeer set added a bit of tone on tone sparkle. Make sure to drop in each day for more holiday inspiration.

We are counting down the days to Christmas here at Picket Fence Studios by sharing a very merry  project each day leading up to the 25th.  Nancy here today with a Christmas card I actually created back in August. I work on Christmas cards all year long yet some how I still manage to be short when it it is time to address and mail. Does that happen to you?  I stamped the image from the Christmas Hello set which is part of the Animal Crackers line onto Copic friendly cardstock, cut out with the matching die and colored with Copic Markers. I created a simple card background using patterned paper and a metallic cardstock strip. I placed the image onto a patterned paper square and attached to the background panel using craft foam, then added the sentiment also cut with the matching die. A few pieces from the must have Traditional Christmas Candy Mix finished it up. I hope you enjoy some crafty time as we approach Christmas.

A Rainbow of Blessings

by Nancy Thomas on Apr 27 2022
Hello there fellow card makers! I am sharing another card created using products from the fabulous April release.  I used the new Rainbow Slim Line Insert die which is an addition to the Slim Line Cutting System to create this clean and simple shaker card. After cutting the opening from a sno cone stitched cardstock panel, I stamped the sentiment from the Word Topper Dies Subtitles. I created the shaker sandwich using the Extra Wide Foam Roll which is so easy to use since it has double sided adhesive. I filled the shaker space with the also new Day of Rainbows Sequin Mix.  The three clouds stacked below the rainbow were cut using two dies from the Cloud Dies set.    I hope your day is full of rainbows!

The Best Hugs Ever

by Nancy Thomas on Apr 06 2022
Good morning all. Nancy Thomas from Creative Palette here to share a card I created for the March release.  Using the Black Hybrid Ink Pad, I stamped the raccoons, bears, foxes and the various botanicals and hearts from the new The Best Hugs Ever then cut out with the matching dies and did the same with the owls from the More of the Best Hugs Ever stamp and die set.  All the images were colored with Copic markers, adding a bit of detail with a white gel pen on the animals and heart. I used the smaller frame from the 5x7 Double Stitched Rectangles Dies to cut from textured white and scarlet jewel cardstock using the inside white piece for my background. I then cut four circles out of it and backed with the woodgrain piece. With a bit of masking I stamped the partial sentiment then added the word die from the More of the Best Hugs Ever die set to finish it out. After securing the frames and inside piece to a 5x7 card base, I attached the images using either glue or foam dimensionals.   Aren't these critters just the cutest?

Wishing for Butterfly Season

by Nancy Thomas on Mar 16 2022
Nancy here to share a card using some of the new products from the fabulous new April release. Winter is not letting go yet but I am trying to think of the flowers and butterflies in our future.     I used the new Flying Butterfly die which is an addition to the Slim Line Cutting System to create this clean and simple shaker card. I also used the Extra Wide Foam Roll which is so easy to use since it has double sided adhesive. I filled the shaker space with the also new Heart Breaker Sequin Plus Mix. There were a lot of fun new sequin sets in this release but I think this one might be my favorite. I added a small flower atop the butterfly which came from the new Carnation Flower Garden set as did the sentiment white embossed onto a black card strip. A tiny sequin atop the flower finished it up.   Don't forget the 7 in 7 Event tonight at 6pm CDT on the Picket Fence Studios Community Facebook page. Hope to see you there!

Eastertime

by Nancy Thomas on Feb 23 2022
Nancy here to share some Easter/Spring cards using the latest Picket Fence Studios release.     I stamped one of the cute images from the Eastertime set, one onto a die cut circle and the two small chicks using the Picket Fence Black Hybrid Ink Pad which were then cut out with the matching dies. All the images were colored with Copic Markers and the main image was then framed with a scalloped circle cut with the larger scallop frame from the Slim Line Scallop Frame Dies set. The chick diecuts were placed onto a small circle die cut which was framed with harvest gold cardstock cut with one of the Misshapen Stitched Circle Dies.  The shaker was created with a backing of pattered paper and several layers of cardstock cut with the smaller scallop frame from the Slim Line Scallop Frame Dies and filled with pieces from the Penny and Henny Sequins Plus Mix. I cut the card front border using the Ornate Negative Strip Die and backed with the green parakeet cardstock. I added a small strip at the top of the cut out to complete the border, then attached all the circle pieces.      For the second card, I stamped the bunny from the Hoppin' Down the Bunny Trail directly onto the card front using the the Black Hybrid Ink Pad and colored with Copic markers. I then masked the image in order to blend tumbled glass and broken china ink around it using the Life Changing Blender Brush Set. I also stamped the main image from the Hippity Hoppity to All stamp set and cut out with the matching die. After coloring with Copic markers, I cut it down to fit the A2 portrait card front. It was attached using a layer of craft foam. For the sentiment, I used the inlaid die cut technique using matted wortd die from the Hippity Hoppity to All Die set and then attached over the bunny ears with craft foam.  I hope you enjoy the rest of your week. Happy Crafting!
