Life Is Better With A Friend

by Brenda Noelke on Dec 16 2024
Hello, crafty friends and happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! Brenda here today sharing a card featuring the adorable pup in the You Hold My Heart In Your Paw Stamp Set from Saturday's December release!! I began by stamping the pup from the You Hold My Heart In Your Paw Stamp Set onto white cardstock with Momento Espresso Truffle ink. I colored it with Copic markers, then fussy cut it out. I used a white gel pen to brighten the white highlights on the eyes and nose. For the background, I stenciled the Fetch Stencil Set onto a panel of white cardstock. Cream Puff Paper Glaze Glass from the Felines Sampler was applied through the bones layer and Chocolate Frosting Paper Glaze Luxe from the Canines Sampler was used with the paw print stencil. Once dry, the panel was die-cut with the third largest deckle edge die in the Beyond Basics: A2 Vintage Rectangle and Cover Plate Die Set. A panel of burnt orange cardstock was die-cut with the largest die in the Beyond Basics: A2 Rectangle and Cover Plate Die Set. I used the largest rectangle die in the Beyond Basics: A2 Stamp Cover Plate with Postmarks Dies to cut the bottom layer from brown cardstock. All the layers were layered and adhered together using liquid glue. The pup was also adhered with liquid glue, letting the ear hang off the top of the card. The sentiment, from the Life Is Better With A Furry Friend Stamp Set, was stamped onto white cardstock with yellow and orange dye ink. It was die-cut with the second largest oval die in the Basic Die Cutting Die Set 1 and popped up with foam tape. A trio of hearts from the Pick Me Sequin Mix finishes off the card. That does it for me today!! Be sure to check out the rest of the December release in the shop!! Have a great week!! Brenda

Hello, Picket Fence friends and happy Wednesday!! Brenda here with a festive Christmas card featuring the Cheerful Winter Gnomes Stamp Set and the A Snowy Breeze 6x8 Stencil!! I love using unconventional colors for holiday cards, and this is the perfect example!! I began by stamping one of the gnomes from the Cheerful Winter Gnomes Stamp Set onto white cardstock using PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored him with Copic markers, added highlights with a white gel pen, then used the Coordinating Die to cut him out. For the background, I blended Wilted Violet and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Inks onto a panel of white cardstock with blender brushes. I spread Seasonal Holiday Arctic Fox Paper Glaze Luxe through the A Snowy Breeze 6x8 Stencil onto the panel with a palette knife, then set it aside to dry. Once dry, I trimmed the panel slightly and adhered it to an A2 white card base. The arch was cut from vellum using a die in the Basic Die Cutting Die Set 1. The gnome was adhered to the vellum with foam tape. The sentiment, from the Signature Quotes: Christmastime Stamp Set, was white heat embossed onto black cardstock and cut out with the Coordinating Die. It was also adhered to the arch with foam tape, then liquid glue was added to the back of the vellum behind the die-cuts only and added to the front of the card. Snowflakes from the Jingle All the Way Sequin Mix were the perfect finishing touch. I just adore this little guy all decked out for the holidays!! Thank you so much for stopping by!! Have a wonderful Wednesday!! Brenda

Happy 12th Birthday

by Brenda Noelke on Jun 17 2024
Hello, fellow crafters!! Brenda here with you today!! I hope you had a great weekend!! I'm sharing a card today featuring a few goodies from the new June release combined with several older products!! My niece will be 12 in December and she loves purple, so this will be prefect for her!! I started by stamping the cupcake from the Sweet Holiday Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored it with Copic markers, added dots to the stamen with a white gel pen, then cut it out with the Coordinating Die. I also stamped the "12" candles from the Blow Out the Candles Stamp Set onto white cardstock with purple die ink and cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. For the background, I stenciled the Sprinkles 6x8 Layering Stencils onto white cardstock using dye inks and blender brushes, then die-cut it with the middle sized arched die in the Basic Die-cutting Die Set 1. I die-cut a frame from pink cardstock using the smallest and middle dies from the same die set. The sprinkled panel and frame were adhered to a card front from the Birthday Bash Fabulous Foiling A2 Card Fronts pack. The cupcake and candles were adhered with liquid glue. For the sentiment, I die-cut "birthday" three times from white cardstock and once from black cardstock using the Happy Birthday Word Die Set. I used a Pint-size Paper Pouncer to pounce one of the white layers with purple dye ink. All of the layers were adhered together with liquid glue, slightly offsetting the black layer, then adhered across the cupcake liner. "Happy" is also from the Sweet Holiday Stamp Set. It was stamped onto white cardstock with purple ink and cut out with the Coordinating Die. Another layer was die-cut from black ink. They were adhered together with the black layer offset and popped up with black foam tape. Sound Waves Gems were adhered to the top of the candles and around the sentiment to finish off the card. Thanks so much for spending a bit of your Monday with me!! Have a great week!! Brenda

The Sound of the Sea Helps Tides Rise

by Brenda Noelke on Apr 15 2024
Happy Monday, Picket Fence friends!! Brenda here with a shaker card created with goodies from the Ocean Odyssey Release that just dropped yesterday!! Such a fantastic release!! My card today features the Seahorses of the Sea Stamp Set & Coordinating Dies, the Beachcomber Fabulous Glossy A2 Card Fronts!! I started much like I do most cards, by stamping the seahorse from the Seahorses of the Sea Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored him with Copic markers, added highlights with a white gel pen and used the Coordinating Die to cut him out.   Next, I created my shaker by die-cutting a panel of cardstock from the Beachcombing Fabulous Glossy A2 Card Fronts with the smallest rectangle die in the A2 Rectangle Layering Die Set and cutting an oval with a die in the Basic Die Cutting Set 1 Die Set. Can we just take a moment to appreciate how stunning this cardstock is?!? So beautiful!! I adhered the oval in the center of a panel of burnt orange cardstock that was cut out with the largest die in the A2 Rectangle Layering Die Set. Acetate and foam tape were adhered to the front panel, Tropical Breeze Sequins were added for the shakers and the layers were adhered together.  The sentiment is also from the Seahorses of the Sea Stamp Set. Not only does the sound of the sea help the tides rise...it totally relaxes me!! The sentiment was stamped onto white cardstock with burnt orange ink and cut out with the Coordinating Die. The seahorse and sentiment were adhered to the front of the card with liquid glue and this card was complete. I LOVE these colors and who doesn't love a shaker card?!? Be sure to check out the fabulous Ocean Odyssey Release in the shop!! Thank you so much for spending part of your Monday with me!! Have a great week!! Brenda

Envelope of Flowers

by Andrea Shell on Mar 27 2024
Hello, again! It's Andrea back with another floral card. I seriously cannot get enough of the March release! The feature image of my card is from the new Like a Wildflower stamp set. After stamping it with Black Hybrid Ink, I colored it with Copics and cut it out. To create my background, I diecut white cardstock with the A2 Rectangles for Card Layering Dies. I backed the piece with pale yellow cardstock and adhered it to a white card. I applied Blue Paper Glaze Luxe from the Nature Sampler Set to white cardstock and allowed it to dry. Next, I diecut the panel, along with vellum and white cardstock, with the Garden Topper Cover Plate Die, focusing on the foliage on one end of the die. After adhering my colored image to my card with foam, I tucked the diecut sprigs underneath, securing them with liquid adhesive. I stamped a sentiment from Like a Wildflower with Black Hybrid Ink and diecut it with an oval die from the new Basic Die Cutting Die Set 1. I popped up the sentiment with foam squares and finished with a few clear drops. Thanks for stopping by! *Affiliate links used at no cost to you.

Friends and Wildflowers Can Grow Anywhere

by Brenda Noelke on Mar 25 2024
Hello, friends & happy Monday!! I hope you had a great weekend!! Brenda here with a floral friendship card featuring some of the goodies from the latest Botanical Blooms Release!! I started by die-cutting the Garden Topper Die two times from white cardstock. I colored one of them with Copic markers, then adhered the white one behind it for added stability. The window frame from the Basic Die Cutting Die Set 1 was cut from gray cardstock, along with a 4.25” wide strip.  Next, I drew the outside of the window frame onto a panel from the Clouds of Dreams Fabulous Glossy A2 Card Fronts, trimmed it down and adhered it to the back of the window. The Scene Building: Falling Brick Wall Die was cut two times from light gray cardstock. They were adhered to a panel of white cardstock that was cut with the largest die in the A2 Rectangles Layering Die Set and the excess was trimmed from each side. The window and flowers were adhered to the background panel and it was adhered to a white A2 card base, all with liquid glue. The sentiment, from the Like A Wildflower Stamp Set, was white heat embossed onto the strip of gray cardstock. It was adhered across the bottom of the flowers to complete the card. That’ll do it for me today!! Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a terrific week!! Brenda

WILDFLOWERS SHAPED CARD

by Silvana Chambon on Mar 22 2024
Hello, everyone, and welcome to the Picket Fence Studios blog! It´s Silvana here and today I´m sharing with you a simple shaped card with one of the newest dies from the March release.   The card features the new Like a Wildflower stamp set. I stamped the cute image with embossing ink and used gold embossing powder. I colored it with watercolor pencils, to give a subtle shade of color. This stamp set doesn´t have a coordinating die, but enjoy fussy cutting.  The card base is made with one of the dies from the Basic Die Cutting set 1. It´s the largest dome die. You can easily do that, just start with a top folded A2 card base, put the die over and  slide it a little bit off the folded edge, that way the die will cut all but the fold, and secure it with tape. Run it to your diecutting machine a few times.  You´ll need an extra single dome shaped piece for the background. I didn´t have cardstock that matched with the scheme color, so I colored the background with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink. I glued it onto the cardbase, trimming the little excess. I wanted a little detail for this card so I did a little hole in the dome part and put a gold eyelet and a piece of silk ribbon and tied it with a black and white twine bow.  To finish the card I added a heat embossed sentiment from the same stamp set that says "Wildflowers write their own stories" thinking of a good friend.  I hope you liked this card and encourages you to make your own shaped cards. I leave you below the list with the products I used in this card. Thank you so much for stopping by and reading! See you on my next post. Silvana.
