Lots of Thanks: Coloring Diecuts with Copics
by Andrea Shell on Jul 23 2024
Hi there! It's Andrea with you, and today I'm sharing a colorful card featuring some new products from Picket Fence Studios' July release. I am loving the fall vibe of this release!
I couldn't resist this cute squirrel from the Layered Fauna: For the Love of Mushrooms Squirrel Die! Isn't he adorable?! I diecut the base from white cardstock and the detail layer from several colors of cardstock. I added shading to the detail pieces with Copic markers before gluing them to the white base.
That awesome background is from the new Autumn Scenery Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts. I chose to frame it with the Trees Silhouette Cover Plate A2 Die, which I cut from white cardstock and colored with Copics. The grass is from the Scene Building: Grass Tufts Die. I diecut it from white cardstock and colored it with Copics, also.
I adhered my background panel to a cardbase and attached the trees and grass with foam tape. I stamped a sentiment from the Freckled Friends: Penelope Pumpkin stamp set with gray ink and diecut it with the coordinating dies. I glued the sentiment to my card and popped up my colored image with foam, finishing with some white highlights.

Hello there! It's pumpkin spice season!!! With that in mind, I created a card full of pumpkins. October is my favorite month and I pretty much love all fall related things...even in a non traditional fall palette.
For this mini slim line, I used Lots of Gourds Seamless Stamp, Witch Crafts Stamp Set, More Oak leaves Dies, More Maple leaves Dies, and Mini Slim Line Stitched and Scalloped Rectangles Die .
I colored the pumpkins with Prisma Colored Pencils and added some paint splatter after the card was assembled.
I finished the design with some scattered sequins, A Classic Christmas.
Thanks for peeking!

Hello everyone!! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this fall card that I hope will inspire you!
To start I used the "More Maple Leaves", "More Oak Leaves" and "More Ash Leaves" dies that i cut on gold and black cardboard.
Next I prepared the background: for this I cut the outside of the leaf dies and used them as a stencil. Then I randomly placed them in the background and painted them with Distress Oxide inks in earth tones. Then I was pasting the leaves on top, but with a little offset to give it a different touch.
For the sentiment i cut the "Good day to you word" die on gold cardboard and placed it in the center of the card.
And this is how the result was!
I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store.
A huge kiss and until next time!
Laura

Hey cardmaking friends welcome back. It's Sandi MacIver here and today I'm playing with Picket Fence Studios Seamless Designs Stamps.
Yesterday I pulled out some Seamless stamps and had a good look at them. I'm totally amazed at how versatile they are.
I kind of hate when I spend money on a stamp set that I only use once, don't you?
Not so with these little guys and let me take a few minutes to explain why.
Today I'm going to share a couple of cards I created with these Seamless Designs Stamps. At the same time, tell you why I like them so much.
Size of the Picket Fence Studios Seamless Designs Stamps:
Don't be fooled by the size of these little guys. They may be small at just over 3.5" square - but they are mighty.
As they are small, they also come in at a nice low price point. For a small investment, you get a HUGE return.
Yesterday I created two A2 sized cards with two of these stamps:
First way I like to use the Seamless Designs Collection:
The first is this absolutely stunning Roses for All Seasons stamp and I created a simple A2 sized card with a small art piece on the front.
I used a Misti to stamp the image in black and then heat embossed it in clear onto watercolor paper.
Next, I colored it with my Karin watercolor pens.
Unfortunately, we require a few sympathy cards so I used the Prayers Word Topper Die on this one.
TIP - I could also change out the card front to the bright pink envelope color, change the sentiment die to Happy Birthday and completely change the feel of this card.
Creating the Sentiment:
Normally I would cut these word topper dies 3 or 4 times and stack them before adding them to my cards.
Today, I cut one from a scrap of brown I had in my scrap bin, and gold heat embossed two layers onto it.
The gold embossing really builds up and I have this beautiful sturdy sentiment which I glued across the bottom front of my art piece.
Understated, but adds the perfect amount of bling.
My Second Card in the A2 Size:
My second card is created the same as the first, just with a different stamp.
This one is new out in August called A Medley of Fall Collage.
The image is stamped once and colored with Karin Markers.
The Happy Fall Y'all Sentiment was created in the same manner as above.
So, why are these called Seamless Designs Stamps?
Because you can use your Misti or other stamping tool, and you can repeat stamp these little guys to create a larger stamped surface.
Their edge illustration is created to line up with the illustration on the opposite side for "seamless continuous stamping". (cool or what).
The Second Way I used the Seamless Designs Stamps:
This Slimline Pumpkin card shows how I lined up the All the Gourds Seamless Stamp and stamped horizontally across the card stock three times to create my Slimline Card front.
Here's another example using the More Hot Chicks Seamless Stamp.
Again, stamped three times horizontally, colored and made into a slimline card with the PFS slimline dies. There is a video for this card here.
You can stamp Seamless the other way too:
Not only do these stamps line up horizontally, but the illustration also lines up vertically.
The Third Way I like to use the Seamless Designs Stamps:
In the card sample above, I used my Misti to stamp the image three times vertically to create an understated background for my card.
Lining up the stamp to continue the repeat is very easy, as there are little pieces of the image you use to overlap for the continuous stamped image.
You can get the details for this card here:
Here is another vertical stamped example where I used the creepy Marching Spiders Seamless Designs Stamp to create the background for my Halloween card. Card Details here:
The Fourth Way I like to use the Seamless Designs Stamp:
You can stamp it twice horizontally, then move up and stamp twice vertically to create an entire A2 sized card front.
TIP - you can also stamp vertically twice to create a background for a Mini Slimline Card, and I'll do one of those shortly as well.
Where to get Seamless Designs Stamps.
Picket Fence Studios introduced these these to me and you can see their collection here.
Storing the Seamless Designs Collection Stamps:
As I said in the beginning, these little guys are small. So, they take up a very little bit of space, unlike some of the HUGE slimline stamps I have purchased recently.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my slimline stamps and dies LOL, I just had to adjust my storage to compensate the tall storage.
I subscribe to the Jennifer McGuire storage system of Fridge Bins (I order mine from Amazon), and these little guys fit perfectly in the 6" x 10" bins
Thanks so much for stopping in and I hope you enjoyed today's cards. Give a Seamless Designs Stamp a try and then come on over to the Picket Fence Studios Facebook Group and share it with us.

Non Traditional Colors for a Fall Shaker Card
by Karen Reategui on Aug 23 2021
1
Hello crafty friends! I'm so happy to be back and today I'm sharing with all of you one of the cards that I made at the 7 in 7 event. This is a Fall shaker card with non traditional colors featuring the Medley of Fall Collage stamp part of the Seamless Collection.
I started this card, that looks like a mini slimline card, by stamping the images using Gingerbread Hybrid ink from Scrapbook.com over watercolor paper. For this technique I also used a Misti.
Then, I colored all images with teals, greens and browns shades. I fabulous and quick way to color a background with lots of images is using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a watercolor brush.
Once I finished watercoloring, I trimmed down this panel and additionally I cut another panel a bit larger but this time out of Neenah Desert Storm. I placed this panel behind the watercolor panel and added a bit of washi tape on each side to secure both panel because I run these through my die cutting machine using the small circle frame die from the Scallop Frames Slim Line Die Cutting System.
Once I had the shaker window created I took off the washi tape and then I adhered a piece of acetate to the back of the watercolor panel. I placed back the larger panel and used glue to adhered both panels.
Also, I added foam tape all around the back of these panels, removed the backing paper and placed the Pumpkins Cookies Embellishment Plus Mixes on top of my cad base. Next, I closed the shaker window and the shaker was created!
As a final touch, I die cut using again the small circle frame die from the Scallop Frames Slim Line Die Cutting System out of a teal cardstock and added it around the shaker window. Last, I stamp my sentiment using Autumn Fancy Sentiments stamp and placed it under the shaker and this card was finished!
I really hope you enjoyed this card and for those who attended the 7 in 7 event thank you so much for all your support, we had so much fun! Also for the ones who couldn't join my class at this event, you can check out the replay where I show you how to make this and one more card, link here.
Below you will find the list of supplies that I used to create this Fall shaker card. Have a fantastic week, your friend,
Karen

Happy Fall Y'all, it's Sandi MacIver here and today I'm sharing two cards created with more new products from Picket Fence Studios August Release.
Fall is sneaking up on us quickly, too quickly it seems, which prompted me to create these two cards.
So let's talk backgrounds.
In creating today's cards, I decided to focus on some fun backgrounds and two different ways to create them.
Sometimes when you want to create a quick and easy card, it can look a little naked with just a couple of die cuts attached to the front right?
By simply adding a tone on tone stamped background, you create depth and interest solving that problem.
Happy Fall Y'all - Slimline Card
To add some "background noise" as I like to call it, I used the A Medley of Fall Collage repeating stamp.
Stamp tone on tone to create this background using either a VersaMark stamp that will create a watermark look.
Or you can use a similar color ink as your background cardstock. i.e. in my image above, Kraft Ink on Kraft cardstock.
Next, use the Misti Stamping Tool to align the repeating stamp to stamp the entire front of your slimline piece.
This is a quick and easy way to add a beautiful coordinating background to your card.
Cut the Prayers Word Topper Die in Mirror Gold paper and attach to card front.
Finally, die cut leaves from watercolor paper, add a quick watercolor wash in fall colors and attach.
To embellish, I added some Pumpkin Cookies Sequin Mix for a little bling and to frame my art pieces.
The gold sequins match my sentiment, and I love the little pumpkin images in these sequins, so fun.
Cardmaking Background Idea #2
The second background idea is also easy, just not quite so quick.
Take the beautiful leaf dies from Picket Fence Studios:
Maple Leaves Dies
Ash Leaves Dies
Oak Leaves Dies
Die cut them out of the same card stock as the base card.
Next, glue them all over the front of the card base.
Die cut the Happy Fall Y'all Word Topper Die from Mirror Gold (love this die so much and it cut's beautifully).
Again, die cut more leaves from watercolor paper, and add a quick watercolor wash in fall colors.
Attach both to the card front.
Finally, I'm over the moon for the Autumn Leaves Gem Mix. These gems have many faucets cut in them and are super sparkly in beautiful colors.
So, I glued them all over the front of this card in between all my background leaves.
Talk about bling, so fun.
There you go, two quick and easy ways to add depth and interest to your die cut cards.
I hope you will give both ideas a try.
