Let It Snow - Frolicking Winter Friends Scene

by Brenda Noelke on Nov 03 2022
Hello, Picket Fence friends!! Brenda here with you today to share a sweet winter scene card featuring the Frolicking Winter Friends Stamp Set!! I began by stamping the adorable mice from the Frolicking Winter Friends Stamp Set onto white cardstock with Black Hybrid Ink. I colored them with Copic markers, added highlights with a white gel pen, then cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. The background was created by stamping the snow and snowbanks, also from the Frolicking Winter Friends Stamp Set onto a panel of white cardstock with Black Hybrid Ink. It was also colored with Copic markers. The trees from the Scene Building: Winter Wonderland Trees Stamp Set were stamped several times onto another piece of white cardstock with Black Hybrid Ink. They were also colored with Copics, fussy cut and adhered to the background with liquid glue. I splattered the panel with diluted white gouache and brushed some Sparkle Paper Glitz onto the trees and snow with a paintbrush. Once it was dry, I trimmed it slightly, then adhered it to an A2 panel of red cardstock, then a white card base. The Let It Snow Word Die was cut once from red cardstock and three times from heavyweight white cardstock. The layers were stacked and adhered together with the red layer on top. I added some Snowfall Paper Velvet to the top edges of the letters with a palette knife. Once dry, it was adhered to the top of the card with liquid glue. The sweet mice were popped up with foam adhesive and I was finished. I appreciate you taking the time to stop by!! Have a great day!!

JOY card with Rockin around the Christmas Tree

by Silvana Chambon Scarenzio on Oct 27 2022
Hello, PFS´s blog readers! It´s Silvana here and today I´m sharing a new card made with a lot of the new products  from the October release- If you´re not sure if buying some of these, maybe I´ll help you to decide... :) Let´s start with the background. I used the new Falling Snowflakes stencils with the Paper Glaze Luxe in Artic Fox over a inkblended cardstock. I loved the different colors behind the snowflakes! The word Joy it´s a new die from this month release. It has the perfect size for an A2 card. I cut it four times in a white heavy cardstock and painted the word over with one of the inks from the background.  Finally, one of my favorites stamps set from this release: the Rockin around the Christmas Tree mices. They  are so adorable! I just relate them with Joy, as they´re dancing with joyful expressions. I didn´t use here the coordinating die, because I wanted a clean image, but there´s one if you´re interested.  I hope you like it! See you in my next post. Thanks for stopping by. Silvana.

Falling Snowflakes Shaker Card by Theary Chea

by Theary Chea on Oct 24 2022
Hello there everyone! It's Theary here, back on the blog again. Today, I wanted to share a fun shaker card that I created using fantastic products from the shop. If you haven't checked out the latest release, you can do so here: October 2022 Release. The background of this shaker card is just beautiful. And the best part is that it was super easy to make. It's so hard to capture the colors and sparkle on camera. But I can assure you that it's a showstopper! I used Falling Snowflakes Stencil on top of white cardstock and my Life Changing Blender Brushes to blend a couple of shades of pink and purple ink. After I removed the stencil, I went in with the ink leftover on my brushes and blended it around the cardstock to create some interest. I wanted the perfect sentiment for this shaker card, so I heat embossed in gold the Merry Christmas from the To All A Goodnight stamp set onto a heat-resistant acetate. Be sure to use a heat-resistant acetate, as a regular acetate will warp and burn. This sentiment is perfect to have in your holiday cardmaking stash. It's so whimsical, and the size is just perfect for any size card front. I used a rectangle stitched frame in my stash to create the frame of my shaker card. You can pretty much use anything that you have on hand. I went ahead and ran that through my die-cutting machine a few times out of white cardstock and layered it with the heat-embossed acetate in between using liquid adhesive. This will create the shaker well for our shaker card. Before I assembled the shaker card, I went ahead and cut the Snowflake Prism out of vellum. I adhered the vellum snowflake onto the center of the ink-blended background. Then, I added Snowflakes Sequins Clay and Embellishments and attached the acetate panel to the ink-blended panel. I then adhered everything to a white top folding card base. And, that's it! I hope you found some inspiration and get crafty in your craft space! Until next time! Have a wonderfully blessed day, Theary Chea (@cloudycoraldesigns)

Clean and bright card with Tall Nutcracker Die

by Evgeniya Ishbul’dina on Oct 21 2022
Happy Friday! Eugy here and today I'm sharing this clean and bright Christmas card idea using the A2 Tall Nutcracker Die. Since I decided to make a card using only one element, I tried to make this element become bright and noticeable. So I started with making handmade patterned paper. After I blended three different backgrounds with lighter inks, I added a darker shade of ink using my Life Changing Blender Brushes and stencils: the Snowy Tree Scene A2 Blending Stencil, the Falling Snowflakes A2 Stencil and the Christmas Tree Lot Stencil. Then I added an extra detail to my pattern using the Hark, the Angels Sing stamp. As a finishing touch, I chose this cute sentiment from the Swanky Christmas Sentiments and decorated the card with sequins from different Sequin Mixes Plus. I hope you liked this idea and you will try it next time. Happy crafting and have a nice weekend! Eugy

Winter fun scene card

by Silvana Chambon Scarenzio on Oct 20 2022
Hello! It´s Silvana here from Casa Magnolia and today I´m sharing with you a fun card with a winter scene made with some new and previous products of PFS. Let´s start with the city background. It was made by partial diecutting the Slimline City Skyline cover plate die  an A2 size white cardstock.  Over this, I stamped the new Scene building: winter Wonderland tress stamp set and colored it with some Copic markers. I put some Paper Glaze Luxe in Artic Fox to simulate the snow.  The stamp to make the snow in the ground comes from the new Frolicking Winter friends stamp set. The cute mouse is from the same set, and you can cut it with the coordinated die.  To finish the card I chose one of the sentiments from the stamp set and heat embossed it with white embossing powder over a black cardstock.  I hope you like this scene and inspires you to make your own. Thank you so much for reading. Silvana.

Winter card by Laura

by Laura Nistal on Oct 19 2022
Hello everyone!! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this winter card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "Frolicking Winter Friends" Stamps set that I stamped with "Black Hybrid ink pad" which is perfect for this type of stamps! Then I painted all the images with alcohol markers and then with a white marker I glossed it to make it stand out.  Then i cut out the images using the "Frolicking Winter Friends" coordinating dies but you can carefully cut them out with scissors if you prefer. Next I prepared the background: for this I used a white cardboard where I stamped with black ink the stamp "Scene Building Winter Scenery". Then I cut it out and glued a black cardboard to it to make a frame. For the sentiment I used the "Happy Day Word Topper Die" which I cut out of red and black cardstock and overlapped. Finally I prepared the composition, glued all the pieces and this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store. A huge kiss and until next time! Laura

Santa Scene Card

by Brenda Noelke on Oct 13 2022
Hello, Picket Fence friends!! I hope this finds you all well!! I love sending funny Christmas cards to friends who have a good sense of humor!! When I saw the Name Off the Good List Stamp Set, I knew immediately who I would send it to!! I LOVE when that happens!! Let’s get to my card!! I began by stamping the Santa and sentiment from Name Off the Good List onto white cardstock with black hybrid ink. I colored Santa with Copic markers, then cut it and the sentiment out with the Coordinating Dies. For the background, I die-cut the A2 Evergreens On a Hill Cover Plate Die from heavyweight white cardstock. I mixed Winter Snowfall Paper Glaze with a bit of Sparkle Paper Glitz and spread it onto the bottom of the panel with a palette knife. I added some Leaf Green Paper Glaze to the trees with my finger, to create some texture. Once that was dry, I adhered it to an A2 size panel of dark blue cardstock, then a white card base. I diluted some Winter Snowfall Paper Glaze and splattered it onto the background with a paint brush. That dried pretty quickly, then I adhered Santa and the sentiment with foam tape. The snowflakes are from the Letters to Santa Mix and were the perfect finishing touch for my scene!! I love how this turned out!! How about you…do you like humorous or traditional cards for Christmas? I like to tailor them to the recipient and, like I said, I have the perfect person in mind for this one! Thank you so much for spending a bit of your day with me!! Tomorrow is the 14th and you know what that means…it’s RELEASE DAY!! YAY!! Have a great Thursday!! Brenda

Christmas Florals

by Nancy Thomas on Oct 12 2022
Nancy here with you today. I love florals for Christmas so today's card was a labor of love for me.  I stamped the largest image from the Seasonal Christmas Flowers set onto Copic friendly cardstock and cut out with the matching die. The more traditional look of poinsettias is red but they actually grow in various colors so I colored mine in a pale lettuce green. I purchased that color one year much to my traditionalist husband's chagrin! To prepare the background I used a small spatula to partially apply Winter Snowfall Paper Glaze over the Winter Rings 6x6 Stencil onto the card front piece for tone on tone texture. I added a gold metallic cardstock border strip, then stamped the sentiment from the Swanky Christmas Sentiments set using golden glitz ink. I used the More Ash Leaves dies to cut from gold metallic cardstock, then attached the flower and the leaves to the panel. I added texture to the flower center using the Winter Snowfall Paper Velvet then pounced on Golden Sparkle Paper Glitz once dried. A few sequins from the Classic Christmas Sequins set finished it up.  Christmas is closer than we think.

Halloween Candy Boxes- No Specialty die needed

by Heejung Hunsberger on Oct 07 2022

Hello Crafty Friends, I can't believe it is already October it is only a couple of w will be Halloween day. I'm not a huge fan of Halloween decorating houses, but I love to give out some candy to the Children at my church. I want to share some ideas on how to make cute Halloween Candy boxes without expensive specialty box dies.     I didn't want to give too much candy to kids because some moms didn't want to too much candy for their kids. so I designed a box that can fit 3-4 candies.     You can create bigger or smaller sizes for your needs.     Candy Box Recipe On Pins and Needles Stamp @Picket Fence Studios- for the face of the boxes Cat plays on fiddle to the Silver Moon stamp @Picket Fence Studios- for the Halloween greeting on the back of the box A2 Tall Grass and Waves with Tiles and Wood Stamp @Picket Fence Studios- for Frankenstein's hair Nesting Oval Circle for the face shape 1 1/2 inches and 1-inch circle die or punch for the handle of the box     Card Stock ( 65 or 90 lb recommend) 2 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches rectangle 2 pieces (score 2 1/2 inches) 3 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches Oval 2 pieces 1 1/2 inches ring- 2 pieces   Glue two panels cross. and cut the slits ( 1 1/2 inches x 1/8 ) on the top of the faces.   It is easy to make! You can create any theme candy boxes with this format.   I made different designs of the box using the Caught in my Web background stamp.     Candy Box Recipe Caught in my Web Stamp @Picket Fence Studios Cat plays on fiddle to the Silver Moon stamp @Picket Fence Studios- for the Halloween greeting  Sequin Mix- Spidey Friends @Picket Fence Studios   Candy Box Recipe Caught in my Web Stamp @Picket Fence Studios Three Ghostly Friends Die @Picket Fence Studios Sequin Mix- Spidey Friends @Picket Fence Studios   You can tell the size difference the left black ghost candy bag is bigger than the others.  The size of the bigger version of the candy bag- is 3 x 9 inches   Tip: Please use thinner card stock for this, it is hard to band when closing the box.       To keep the close, please use the ribbon to tie the handles.     That is all today! Hope you like my post! Happy Stamping! XOXO Heejung   Supplies

Rainbow Christmas

by Silvana Chambon Scarenzio on Oct 06 2022
Hello! It´s Silvana here from Casa Magnolia. Today I´m sharing this card showing a non traditional coloring for Christmas: rainbow! Because there are more colors than green and red, right? I started by making the background with a light blending of rainbow colors. the best tools to make the perfect soft coloring are the Life changing Blender brushes that you can purchase individually or in 2, 4 or 6 pack in the PFS web.  With the Slimline Christmas Tree Lot Stencil I colored over the background with a generous and heavy amount of ink, to make the contrast.  The Scene builder Brick wall stamp it´s perfect to use with the Animal Crackers Christmas wishes stamp because the animals are hanging off the wall. I also used the coordinated die for this cute stamp.  To finish the card, I added the sentiment from the An animal Crackers Christmas Hello stamp set cut with the coordinated die.  I hope you like it and try to put a little color into your Christmas cards! Thank you so much for stopping by. Silvana.

Seasonal Christmas Flowers

by Theary Chea on Oct 03 2022
Hello friends,I am so excited to be back on the blog again today. For today’s project, I am sharing a Christmas card that was inspired by one of the most well-known Christmas flowers of all time. And that is the flower, Poinsettias. Every year during Christmas, I fill my home with this flower. It’s just so beautiful, and it smells so wonderful. I was excited when the shop released the Seasonal Christmas Flowers stamp set. I knew I needed to create a card with it.     I colored the Poinsettias using Copic markers and gave them highlights using a white gel pen. For the background, I love creating a monotone effect using the wonderful Paper Glaze Velvet in the color Winter Snowfall. I applied the paper glaze onto white card stock using Winter Rings Stencil with my Mix Media Spatulas.     To add subtle interest to the card design, I added More Ash Leaves that I die-cut out of vellum. I adhered the flowers and leaves onto the card panel using a combination of foam squares and liquid adhesive.   The sentiment is from the Swanky Christmas Sentiment stamp set. I stamped the sentiment onto white card stock using black ink and used the coordinating dies to cut a few out of white card stock to layer it up to create dimension.   And to finish off the card, I adhered the card panel onto a matted gold rectangle and adhered it to a top folding card base. Added a few embellishments to the card panel, and that’s it!I hope you found some inspiration and got crafty in your craft room. Until next time!Have a wonderfully blessed day,Theary Chea

Hello, everyone! it´s Silvana here from Casa Magnolia.
