Hi, friends! Welcome to the Picket Fence Studios´ blog! I´m Silvana from Casa Magnolia and today I bring you a fun "partial" shaker card for this Halloween season.
I used a lot of the last release products, but also others from previous ones. The result is a very interesting and fun card, with a lot of details to look for. So let´s get started!
The card features the new Bee my boo? stamp set. It has a lot of cute ghost images, and I chose a few to color and set aside to decide which ones I´ll use later. Other new product you can find here is the Haunted Halloween Gingham Fabulously glossy cardstock. I diecut it with the A2 saying Hello Cover plate die. This die cuts the little rectangles from the inside too, but I decided that I wanted to make some of them like mini shakers, so I didn´t use them all. The reason for this was that the gingham pattern didn’t allow the sequin mix to be seen properly.
So I made a background with white cardstock, on which I put some Opaque Black Paper Splatter in some areas and used the Spider Menagerie 6x8 stencil in others, taking into account that those areas would be visible through the rectangles. Then I made the shakers: I put acetate in some of the rectangles and then put some foam tape under all the front piece. I filled the little shakers with the Hi, Boo! Sequin mix and glued the white background with the splatter.
After that I started to assemble the last pieces. I glued some of the gingham rectangles in three places. I put the ghosts over the gingham and the stenciled areas. I cut some bats form the Trick or Treat Halloween word set die with a foiled black paper and added them in some areas. I leave the center for the sentiment which I made from the same stamp set with white embossing powder over a black cardstock.
I finished the card by making some details with a white gel pen, in this case the Karin Decogel Pen. And that´s it!
It´s a card with a little bit of work, but totally worth it! The little shakers add extra fun to the ghosts stamp.
I hope you enjoyed it and try your own "partial" shakers!
See you in my next post.
Have a fantastic day!

Find me by the sea slimline infinity shaker
by Silvana Chambon on Apr 30 2024
Hello and welcome to the Picket Fence Studios blog! It´s Silvana here and today I´m sharing with you an infinity slimline shaker card with some of the last release products. As you may know, an infinity shaker it´s an edge to edge shaker card or a full panel shaker. So let´s see how to make it!
Let´s start by the background. I used the Slimline scene Building: Seashore Cover Plate Die to make with but I cut it three times with the different shades of the Fabulous Foiling Toner Cardstock Ocean Breeze Blues to make the water. I used a recycled paper cardstock that had some speckles that ressembles sand for the last piece. In a closer photo you will see that I made some "foam" in the lighter shade of blue cardstock. I used Paper Glaze Luxe Arctic Fox and apllied it with my finger for that.
I glued the different pieces onto a slimline size panel. After that I cut a piece of Shaker sheets half an inch bigger than the background and glued it on the back leaving one side open to pour the shaker fill which was the new Sequin Mix Island Blues. I love the iridiscent colors and the perfect mix of sequins. It was perfect for this shaker.
I glued the last part of the shaker sheet to seal and put all the background over a slimine size card base.
For the sentiment I used the new Find me by the sea Word Die Set made this way: for the SEA I put some of the new Paper Glaze Glass Sea Glass Coral onto a light weight cardstock and waited until It was completely dry. This new Paper Glaze has a translucent look, but over a white cardstock looks amazing. For the rest of the sentiment I foiled a piece of the Fabulous Foiling cardstock with Fabulous Toner Foil in Metallic Silver and cut it. I arranged the sentiment on the left side of the card so this will let the background and the sequins show.
And that´s it! Despite using many products, the card is easy to make and looks great. I hope you can give it a try and let me know if you like it.
You can follow me on my IG: @casamagnolia_nh where I post the majority of my cards or you can find me on my website, where I write english/ spanish posts.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
See you on my next post!
Have a happy week and happy creations!

The Sound of the Sea Helps Tides Rise
by Brenda Noelke on Apr 15 2024
Happy Monday, Picket Fence friends!! Brenda here with a shaker card created with goodies from the Ocean Odyssey Release that just dropped yesterday!! Such a fantastic release!! My card today features the Seahorses of the Sea Stamp Set & Coordinating Dies, the Beachcomber Fabulous Glossy A2 Card Fronts!!
I started much like I do most cards, by stamping the seahorse from the Seahorses of the Sea Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored him with Copic markers, added highlights with a white gel pen and used the Coordinating Die to cut him out.
Next, I created my shaker by die-cutting a panel of cardstock from the Beachcombing Fabulous Glossy A2 Card Fronts with the smallest rectangle die in the A2 Rectangle Layering Die Set and cutting an oval with a die in the Basic Die Cutting Set 1 Die Set. Can we just take a moment to appreciate how stunning this cardstock is?!? So beautiful!! I adhered the oval in the center of a panel of burnt orange cardstock that was cut out with the largest die in the A2 Rectangle Layering Die Set. Acetate and foam tape were adhered to the front panel, Tropical Breeze Sequins were added for the shakers and the layers were adhered together.
The sentiment is also from the Seahorses of the Sea Stamp Set. Not only does the sound of the sea help the tides rise...it totally relaxes me!! The sentiment was stamped onto white cardstock with burnt orange ink and cut out with the Coordinating Die. The seahorse and sentiment were adhered to the front of the card with liquid glue and this card was complete.
I LOVE these colors and who doesn't love a shaker card?!? Be sure to check out the fabulous Ocean Odyssey Release in the shop!!
Thank you so much for spending part of your Monday with me!! Have a great week!!

Hello Crafty Friends,
Do you like shaker cards? I really love all types of shaker cards.
I made another type of shaker card featuring the Evan More of a Fishy Lot Stamp and coordinating die.
CARD RECIPE:
Even More of a Fishy Lot Stamp Set
Even More of a Fishy Lot Coordinating Die
Sun with Rays 6×8 Stencil
School of Fish Stamp
A2 Full Front Shaker Die
Sea of Dolphins Sequin Mix
Where Mermaids Live Stamp
I used the Distress Oxide inks (Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon, Chipped Sapphire ) for the color blending on the background.
After coloring, the school of Fish stamp was stamped, using the Sun with Rays stencil with white pigment ink. Finished spray water on the colored surface.
For the sentiment, I used the Where Mermaids Live Stamp set, white heat embossed it.
I used the A2 Full Front Shaker die to cut the shaker sheet and fill the Sea of Dolphins Sequin Mix in the shaker.
That’s all for today.
Thank you for stopping by!
I hope you enjoyed this post and give you inspiration.

Hi, everyone! How are you in this Holiday´s season? I hope you enjoyed this time and are safe.
Today´s post is about a shaker card featuring a lot of new products! So let´s go!
Let´s start with the background. I used the new Petals 6x8 stencil over a previous inkblended background.
For the shaker elements, I used the Shaker sheets and the new Sequin Mix All about the purples.
To decorate I diecut one of the Nesting Ring dies and some leaves from the Layering Flora: Leaves and Twigs dies
The sentiment is from the Fancy Life Events Sentiments stamp set and its coordinating die.
I hope you like it and give it a try!
Happy New Year to all!
With love,
Silvana.

Hello Lovely Crafty Friends, I am Sasha and I am so very honoured to be bringing you this blog post. This is my first time on the blog so please bare with me.
I am OBSESSED with shaker cards, honestly I can’t get enough of them!I am equally obsessed with the Picket Fence Studios sequin mixes so a card that features both is perfect! Make sure to check out the reel on the PFS Instagram to get a better idea of this
I like to call this type of shaker a floating edge shaker because it is fully transparent, let me know in the comments if you think it should be called something else.I started off by taking a DL plastic card/poly bag. The bag measures 10.5’ long x 4.5’ wide. I cut the card bag down to 6’ long, the width remains the same. I then cut a 6’ long x 4.5’ wide piece of acetate which will go inside the poly bag to add stability. TIP: if the acetate piece doesn’t fit inside the bag, just cut a sliver of it off.
I splattered the acetate with white acrylic paint then I stuck down a few sequins from the gorgeous plum pudding mix. Whilst that dried, I took a 5’ x 7’ card base and used the A2 Evergreens on a Hill cover plate to cut the card base down to about 4’ long. I then cut out 4 other die cuts of this cover plate. I ink blended 2 of the die cuts with some Prize ribbon and Wilted Violet distress oxides to create some snowy
To assemble the card, I put the acetate into the poly bag then added a bit of the plum pudding sequins before sealing it with double sided tape. I then stuck it down to the inside of the back part of the card base. To cover the tape, I stuck down one of the 4 cover plate panels over the taped area. To the front of the card I took a Santa’s Sleigh Ride snow globe die cut and cut it up so that the sleigh was separate from the houses. I stuck the houses down on the bottom part of the card, in front of the white trees then I propped up the ink blended panel on some foam tape and stuck that over
I finished the card off with the ink blended greetings die cut on the front the snowy trees and the ink blended sleigh over the acetate. I think this is a fun way to create a shaker card. It’s so super light and not bulky at all but most importantly it is magical with all those beautiful sequins! There will be a reel over on the PFS Instagram showing another example of an edge shaker and a Full Video Tutorial on my YouTube channel LOVE BUIlDS UP CRAFTS on Friday. Hope to see you there!

Done Adulting for The Day Shaker Card by Theary Chea
by Theary Chea on Jul 11 2022
Hello PFS family!I am happy to be back on the blog, sharing another card with you all today. I have been dreaming about a tropical getaway, and that very feeling inspired this card.
I inked and blended a few shades of hybrid inks onto white cardstock using my wonderful PFS Life Changing Blender Brushes. If you haven't tried using these brushes yet, you should pick up a few because they're so soft and make blending effortless.
After blending the background, I taped down the Tropical Leaves Stencil and spread a thin layer of Paper Glaze Luxe in Arctic Fox and Spanish Moss using my Mixed Media Spatulas. And, guys! These colors are so beautiful in person; the camera doesn't capture the incredible shine. If you're not aware, the finish of the Paper Glaze Luxe is actually quite different from the other Paper Glaze line. The Luxe line is fortify with a mixture of mica and glitter resulting in an luscious shine and shimmer. It's absolutely beautiful in person.
Then using a basic oval die from my stash, I die-cut the center of the stencil out using my die-cutting machine to create a shaker window. Before I adhered the acetate sheet to the back of the stenciled panel, I heat-embossed one of the sentiments in black embossing powder onto the acetate sheet. After that, I adhered it to the stenciled panel and applied foam tape on the back to create a shaker well.
I used Sandy Toes Sequins Mix to add to the shaker well for the shaker elements. I felt that the color palette of this particular mix was spot on with the whole tropical beach vibe theme. From there, I placed that onto a piece of cardstock that I inked blended with an area of light beige ink only to the area seen through the shaker window.
I stamped out the image from the Done Adulting For The Day set in our alcohol-friendly Hybrid Black Ink and colored it in with alcohol-markers. When starting out with my coloring journey, I didn't realized how important it was to have the correct type of ink pads and paper for different types of project. Good thing is, our Hybrid Black Ink works well with a lot of different types of medium. My favorite paper to use with alcohol-markers is a smooth-thick cardstock. After coloring in the image, I then used the coordinating dies to cut it out and adhered it to the front of the card front with foam squares.
Finally, I adhered the entire piece to a side folding card base. So, that's it! I love the dimension of the Paper Glaze Luxe. It's such a great texture on a card front to create just enough drama. I hope you enjoy this tutorial, and I look forward to chatting with you all soon.
