ICE CREAM AND POPSICLES CARDS

by Silvana Chambon on Jul 15 2024
Hi, everyone! It´s Silvana here from Casa Magnolia  and I´m so happy to be in the Picket Fence Studios´ blog today.  Summertime has arrived and that means it´s ice cream season! I know that for those of us who love ice cream, all year round is ice cream season. But on hot summer days, they are much more enjoyable, don´t you agree? And, as the sentiment says, "Ice cream makes everything better".  I created two cards in different colors but with the same design:  I made the background with the new Wreath building: Ice cream you scream stamp set. I used the Stampwheel to create a repetitive pattern. For the pink card I used a black pigment ink and used an embossing powder with pink speckles, that dries clear but leaves the color. For the lilac card I stamped everytime with a different ink.  I thought it would be fun to make a popsicle for the sentiment. So, I used an oval die from the Basic Die cutting Set 1 with a pink cardstock and cut the bottom part, so the shape ressembles a popsicle. I stamped the sentiment from the Ice cream set with embossing ink and put over some white embossing powder.  I found a popsicle wooden stick and cut it in half to use it on the two cards. I glued it behind my popsicle shape.  To assemble the card I cut the background 3/8" smaller than an A2 card, put a mat slightly bigger behind with the same pink cardstock and tape it over a light kraft cardstock card base with foam tape. I glued the popsicle sentiment over. To finish it up I added some embellishments from the Bee My Friend sequin mix plus.  And that´s my card! The lilac one doesn´t have the embellishments, but the process was the same.  I hope you like these cards and that you find the opportunity to create your own and give it to an ice cream lover. I leave you at the bottom the list of products in case you need some of them.  Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today and I hope you´re enjoying the summertime.  Se you in my next post.  Silvana.

Hello Sunshine!

Hi friends! Today I want to share an easy way to add a bright colorful background to your focal point using patterned paper! My card today will use NEW May release products Blooming Trumpet Flower stamp and die, Hello to You word die, Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts in Happy Gingham and Sweet Gingham, and Gradient Flatback Pearls. First, I stamped the flowers from Blooming Trumpet Flowers stamp and colored them with my alcohol markers. Then I die cut the flowers and a few leaves and set them aside. Next, I focused on the background using the new and fun patterned paper in Happy Gingham and Sweet Gingham! I trimmed the green gingham to 5.25x4.0 and placed it over a piece of white cardstock sized 5.5x4.25. Then I trimmed a small rectangle on my deckled paper trimmer using the black gingham. I placed that over the green gingham to the left side of the card panel.  Once that was finished, I adhered the Trumpet flowers over the black gingham, offset a bit so you could see the gingham peeking out from behind. Then I added the Hello die that was cut using mirrored black cardstock and finished with the sentiment "Sunshine" from the Blooming Trumpet Flowers stamp set.  I completed the card with Gradient Pearls over the stamins!  I'm so pleased with how this turned out, thanks to the Gingham patterned paper!
