Sending Love with Ombre Paper Glaze

by Angela Bode on May 21 2021
Hello!  Angie here today featuring the new Paper Glaze Trios!  The set I used for this card is Ombre Sunset Purples.  It's nice to have a trio and not worry about mixing just the right shades!  I spread the glazes through the Slim Line Broken Fence Stencil.  Once the layer was dry, I tidied the edges by die cutting with the Slimline Nested Rectangle Dies.  Then I created a bottom layer with the Slim Line DCS Scallop Frames. The SLDCS Scallop Frames set is not just for cutting out layers but it also includes words and shapes, including the hearts I used today.  I splattered them with paper glaze mixed with water for a fun effect!  Lastly, I added Sending Love.   Every month there is loads to love at Picket Fence Studios! HERE is a link that will take you straight to the PFS Shop so that you can browse! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Celebrate Texture

by Angela Bode on Apr 30 2021
Hello!  Happy Friday to you!   Today, I am over at Splitcoaststampers hosting a "texture" challenge.   To create my texture I mixed Golden Rose Paper Glaze with Paper Glaze Enhancer.  I love how easy it is to spread the mixture through the Slimline Broken Fence Stencil!  I used both the SLDC Scallop Frame Dies and the SLDC Nested Rectangle Dies for layering.  The SLDC Systems include so many dies that it makes them great buys!  As an example, the "celebrate" die is included in the Scallop Set! See the photo link at the bottom of this post for the list of dies included in these sets! For a fun embellishment, I die-cut Maple Leaves and painted them with Golden Rose Paper Glaze mixed with water for a little "gold leafing".  Lastly, I sprinkled a few Purple-Rita Sequins.   Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Background Focus

by Angela Bode on Apr 09 2021
Hello!  Happy Friday to you!  Today I am featuring three cards with a focus on the backgrounds!  My first card features the beautiful Slimline Mermaid Scale Stencil.  I ink blended with reactive inks and LC Blending Brushes, then sprinkled with water for a fun splattered look!  I die-cut the whale and small fish with the Mermaids of the Sea Coordinating Die.  The Hello is specially made for the larger slimline size!  Using the Nested Rectangle Slimline Die-Cutting System adds a lovely stitched finish to the layers. Lastly, I randomly sprinkled a few Shark Bite Sequins.    Next, I am featuring the beautiful English Brick Wall 6x6 stencil.  I created a brick wall by ink blending a variety of colors with my LC Blender Brushes.  Next, I stamped and colored a fox from the  Like a Crafty Fox Set. (this set is currently selling at an unbelievable discount! Get him while supplies last!).  I used just the Hey from Hey You Die and then finished off the sentiment by creating a sentiment from the Ways to Express Yourself set.  Lastly, I sprinkled three Fire Gems for a little sparkle! For my last focus on backgrounds. I used the Netting Cover Plate Die.  I also splattered the  background first with Pink Carnation Paper Glaze mixed with water and then Snowdrop White Paper Glaze mixed with water. I decorated the underwater scene with fish from Mermaid of the Sea Coordinating Dies.  I added sea grass from Things on the Sea Floor and the Coordinating Die.  The sentiment is I Love You sentiment and cut it out with the Coordinating Die.  Lastly, I sprinkled a few Purple-Rita Sequins (I just LOVE this mix!).  Last but not least, I created a slimline with I hope you found lots to inspire you today! Hugs! Angie

Sunshine and Rainbows

by Angela Bode on Feb 26 2021
Hello!  I hope wherever you are the sun is shining and warming up your part of the world!  I have a couple of cards to share with you featuring sunshine and rainbows! First, is this super fun rainbow featuring the Slim Line Movement Stencil.  This is such a fun stencil as it gives the illusion of dimension!  I used the Slim Line Die Cutting System and cut 3 circles out to create space for a scene. Did you know that Picket Fence Studios has a brand new Slim Line Nested Rectangles Die Cutting System out?  It has four stitched layers, slimline label dies and four, word dies!  It's available now with no waiting for preorder or the next monthly release! I used the Cloud Coverage Stencil and LC Blender Brushes for the background. The image is from After the Storm, and the sentiment is from the Hello set.   For my next card, I inked up the beautiful Wave Sun Stencil with LC Blender Brushes.  Don't you just love the curling rays of this sun? I love the image of feminine hands raised from the BFF Favorite Hello Set.  When we come together from diverse backgrounds with love and care for one another nothing can stop us!  The sentiment is from the lovely Wild Peonies set.  Lastly, I sprinkled some Fire Gems! Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you feel inspired to create some sunshine! Angie

Big Hugs with Picket Fence Studios and Gel Press

Hello! Today I am featuring cards made with Picket Fence Studios and Gel Press Products!First, a Big Hug to you for stopping by! To create this I used one of the small Gel Presses from the Faith Impressions set. This is such a cool set with 4 small shapes and 2 long border shapes. I ordered this set with the purpose of beginning to Bible journal but I have misplaced the journaling Bible! I moved the Bible to a safe place and yep, it's so safe, I can't find it! However, the Faith Impressions Set is so versatile it can be used to create any type of project, including cards! I added Big Hugs for the sentiment and sprinkled  Day and Night gems with the fancy Gem Pick-Up Tool. You will feel like an elegant crafter with this Gem Pick-up Tool! Next, I created a celebration card using the 7" Impressables Repeat Circles Gel Press.  This is a fun press because the circles are built into the press!  I placed the press on my MISTI (now carried in the PFS store!) and used it as a stamp.  Don't be surprised to see the Impressables Repeat Circles pop up again because I couldn't stop experimenting with it!  I added the fun Happy Birthday and sprinkled Spring Fling Sequins for a fun celebration feel!    Lastly, I returned to the Faith Impressions set and selected the heart shape press and the Flowers  stencil. I trimmed around the heart and edged it with black marker.  The background was created by stamping the heart randomly with paints and reinkers. I wasn't delighted with the result, so I added white paint to the heart with cheesecloth and continued to stamp. For the sentiment, I used the Seeing Double Alpha Die.  This set is terrific because it includes the Alphabet and numbers at one great price point!  To finish off the card I sprinkled Purple Side of a Rainbow Gems using the ever so elegant Gem Pick-Up Tool. Thanks so much for stopping by today and taking a look at the fun that can be made with Picket Fence Studios and Gel Press!  I hope your weekend is awesome! January Release Goodness

by Angela Bode on Jan 15 2021
Hello crafty friends!  Yesterday was the Picket Fence Studios January Release Day so I have lots to share today. This release is so huge that you are going to have to check it all out HERE at the store!  But before you go, I have a few samples to share with you!  First, up Picket Fence Studios has three new Paper Glazes.  They are soft and sweet.  For this card, I used Mint Hydrangea Paper Glaze with the Coloring Book Stencil. I created a Diamond Cut-out top layer with the Slimline Die Cutting System.  I added the Welcome Die and the new Spring Fling Sequins Mix. Lastly, beneath the card are two of the beautiful Slim Line Rainbow Envelopes. Up Next, I have another slimline to share only this time I have switched the orientation.  For the background, I have stamped the 4x4 Falling hearts and then I added a top layer using circles from the Slim Line Die Cutting System. I made a faux shaker by simply adding a sprinkle of Green Fairy Sequins to each circle.  I die cut the new Always sentiment out three times and stamped LOVE from Wild Peonies.  Wild Peonies only a beautiful floral set but it also has wonderful sentiments too.   Lastly, I have my card resting on the new Slim Line Neutral envelopes!  For my last sample today, I am featuring this fun cloud scene card today which I shared on my Release Day post yesterday.  If you missed my Release Day Post you can stop by HERE to see the new Poem/watermark for the back of cards and more!  I love clouds so I couldn't wait to dive into the new  52 Layers of Clouds Stencil and the Slim Line Rising Sun Stencil.  The Slim Line Short Grass Die is fabulous and extends the full length of a slimline card!  I added "thinking of you" from the More Fancy Sentiments set and now you can purchase the Coordinating Die for exquisite sentiment styling!  I couldn't resist adding the bird silhouettes from the Sleeping Tree Set. Lastly, in the background of the card, I show two of the beautiful envelopes from the Slim Line Rainbow Envelopes.        There is so much more to see!  I haven't even touched on the new Gem Mixes, the 1 oz jars  or half the new stamps and dies so for a look at the entire January Release stop by HERE.  Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look today!

A Merry Christmas Walk and More

by Angela Bode on Dec 25 2020
Hello, everyone!  Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate and Happy Everything to those who simply celebrate the every day!   After enjoying a celebration meal it's always nice to take a walk so I created a fun scene with park-goers doing just that!    First, I created an outdoor scene with the Slimline Die Cutting system.  I layered the tree die cut for a fun film strip-type scene.  After cutting the trees, I stamped warm colors using a ink and a paper towel.  Next, I sponged the clouds with Life Changing Blender Brushes and the Slimline Cloud Coverage Stencil.  I stamped the characters from the More Walk in the Park set and die cut them with the Coordinating Dies.   Here is a close up of the Red Hat Society Ladies. In this scene we have a dog walker meeting a cat!  You know I had to include that cat!  And in the bottom square we have a couple of friends sharing an ice cream treat.  I think they are enjoying a Christmas walk somewhere warm!   Next up, I have a tip to share when using the Slimline Die Cutting System.  Don't toss the die cut squares and circles when using the Die Cutting System!  They can be used as design elements in future projects as I did with this card.  First, I blended ink with the Life Changing Blender Brushes and the Slimline Waves Stencil.  Next, I colored the Leaves For Flowers and die cut them out with the Coordinating Die.  I grabbed one of the circles I have saved from previous Slimline Die Cutting System layouts and stamped the birthday sentiment from Do Good Recklessly.  Did you know that Picket Fence Studios now carries the MISTI?  The MISTI is one tool I can't do without.  I use it for every project!  I hope you enjoyed viewing samples featuring the December Release!  You can find the entire December Release HERE! Thanks for stopping by!

Live, Hope, Sing

by Angela Bode on Dec 04 2020
Hello, everyone!  I hope you had a great week and now it's time to celebrate Friday!  I think Alice is delighted that it's Friday and she has started celebrating by listening to her favorite mix!  I created an interesting background with the Geo Squares Stencil and LC Blender Brushes.  I colored Alice then I used her Coordinating Die to cut her out.  Next, I stamped a flower and leaves from Beautiful Girl Flowers and die cut them with Coordinating Dies.  I really like PFS Coordinating dies because they save me so much time when creating cards AND they are sold already separated, no metal cutters required!  You know, I love PFS Sequins so I sprinkled a bit of Razzle Dazzle and that was it!  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you feel inspired to create something this weekend! Hello!  Happy Monday to you!  Today I am sharing this bright and happy thank you card.  The Bee Fierce Stamp set and Coordinating Dies remind me of when my husband used to be a beekeeper!  Even though my husband no longer has bees we still get a kick out of seeing bee boxes in the fields along tree lines when we take road trips!  First I blended ink with a LC Blender Brush through the Honeycomb Stencil then I stamped the Thank You directly on the card front. Lastly, I sprinkled a few Irish Coffee Sequins Mix.  Picket Fence Studios Sequin Mixes are on my list of Favorite Things and now Picket Fence Studios carries a beautiful Sequin Mix Display Case that can also be used for reinker bottles as well!.  It's not only useful it's beautifully crafted!   Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Versatile Floral Stencils

by Angela Bode on Oct 02 2020
Hi everyone!  Today I am featuring both of the Picket Fence Studios Floral Stencils!  First up, I turned the Floral Slimline Stencil into a Christmas card by simply adding the Merry Christmas sentiment from Baby It's Cold Outside.  I used a reverse stencil method by blending blue distress ink over the cardstock with Life Changing Blender Brushes then I placed the stencil onto the cardstock and blended black ink through the stencil.  I added sparkle with Glitter Paper and then tossed Gin and Tonic Sequins Mix from about 6 inches in the air and glued the sequins onto the card where they fell!  (I learned that trick from Lydia!)    Next up, I used the 6x6 Floral Stencil to make an A2 Christmas Card.  This time I stenciled the new Artemisia Silver Paper Glaze through the stencil.  I added a sentiment from Inside Christmas Quotes and then finished off the card with Gin and Tonic Sequins plus Black Russian Sequins Mix. I love the versatility of the Floral Stencils as they can be used for any occasion including Christmas!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

2020 In Real Color

by Angela Bode on Jan 03 2020
Happy Friday everyone!  I hope you enjoyed ringing in the new year!  Did you make any New Year's resolutions?  I didn't because I have always felt like the new year starts when my kids head back to school.  Even though my kids are older now, I still make changes and life adjustments in the Fall.  Therefore, when January comes along hopefully I am rolling right along!  One change I made this past Fall was to start eating better.  My goal was to look better but I ended up with a far greater benefit.  I feel better!  Now I feel like I am living in real color!  Charles the Chameleon is all about living in real color! I stamped a painted background with Color Heals the Soul and then stamped and die-cut Charles.  Next, I placed Charles in the MISTI and stamped Color Heals the Soul over the top of him in the same colors as the background.  Next, I couldn't leave Charles hanging in the air so I gave him Just a Branch to balance on.  Lastly, I added the sentiment.   One other tool I want to mention before I go is the new Stamp Scrubber!  I used it to clean the stamps I used today.  It did a beautiful job cleaning all the crevices in the paint drips on  Color Heals the Soul!    That's it for me today!  Hugs and remember to Live in Real Color!
