Sunny Shaker Card

by Andrea Shell on Feb 11 2025
Hi there! It's Andrea back to share a fun shaker card featuring the Big Piggie Hugs stamp from Picket Fence Studios. This cute piggie and barrel were leftover from last week's card. I colored the images from Big Piggie Hugs with Copics, cut them out with the coordinating dies, and added white highlights. That awesome background is from the Bright and Shiny Day Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts pack, which I trimmed slightly. Using the Basic Die Cutting Set 1 Dies, I created frames from white cardstock and a yellow gingham paper from the Happy Gingham Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts pack. I layered the two frames together and backed them with clear acetate. I glued my colored images onto the background and placed some Pick Me sequin mix on top (Does anyone else struggle with how much filler to use for shaker cards? I either put too much or, in this case, not enough). I adhered my layered frames with foam tape and glued the shaker to a panel of green cardstock, which I affixed to a white cardbase. To create my sentiment, I diecut orange cardstock a few times with the alphabet die from the Pinking Shear A2 Cover Plate Dies. After stacking the letters three times for dimension, I glued my sentiment to the acetate. Thanks for stopping by! *Affiliate links used at no cost to you.

Spring Gardening Piggies

Hello there! It's Andrea back to share a fun card featuring the new Big Piggie Hugs stamp from Picket Fence Studios. As with all of the designs by Yuzu Nook, the images from the Big Piggie Hugs set are so cute! They pair perfectly with the new Spring Gardening Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts, and the A2 Trees Silhouette Cover Plate Die frames everything beautifully! I stamped those fun images from Big Piggie Hugs in black and colored them with Copics. I diecut them with the coordinating dies and added white highlights with a gel pen. I diecut the A2 Trees Silhouette Cover Plate Die from white cardstock and colored the diecut with Copics. I adhered the tree diecut with foam adhesive to one of the cardfronts from the Spring Gardening pack and affixed the panel to a white card. I arranged my colored images onto my card, securing them with a combination of liquid adhesive and thin foam adhesive. I stamped a sentiment from Big Piggie Hugs, diecut it with the coordinating dies, and popped it up with dimensional adhesive. Thanks for stopping by! *Affiliate links used at no cost to you.

Happy Easter - Peach & Piper: Easter Adventures

by Brenda Noelke on Jan 31 2025
Happy Friday, fellow card makers!! I hope you have some fun plans for the weekend!! Brenda here with a sweet Easter card featuring the adorable Peach & Piper: Easter Adventures Stamps & Coordinating Dies, along with a few other goodies from the January release!! I began by stamping the images from the Peach & Piper: Easter Adventures Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored them with Copic markers, added highlights with a white gel pen, then used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. (Save 10% when you purchase the stamps & dies together here.) I used a black gel pen to darken the eyes and noses of the critters. Next, I blended Tumbled Glass Distress Ink onto a panel of white cardstock using Life Changing Blender Brushes. I blended Mowed Lawn Distress Ink onto the bottom of the panel using the grass stencil in the Scene Building A2 Stencil Set: Layers of Adventure. The clouds, from the same stencil set, were added to the sky using Incandescent Paper Glaze. The panel was die-cut with the third largest die in the Beyond Basics: A2 Rectangles and Cover Plate Die Set. It was adhered with liquid glue to a pink panel of cardstock that was die-cut with the largest die in the same die set. The darling Peach & Piper die-cuts were adhered with liquid glue. For the sentiment, I spread a thin layer of the lightest shade of pink glaze in the Pink Ombre Haze Paper Glaze Sampler onto a panel of white cardstock. Once it was dry, I die-cut it, along with two more layers from heavyweight white cardstock, using the Happy Easter Word Die. The layers were stacked and adhered together using liquid glue, then added to the bottom of the panel. Bunny shaped embellishments from the Bunny Bop Sequin Mix Plus Mix and small iridescent sequins from the Blissful Beauties Sequin Mix Plus Mix were the perfect finishing touch. These bunnies and chicks are having so much fun at the Easter egg hunt!! That does it for me today!! Thank you so much for stopping by!! Have a terrific weekend!! Brenda

Basket of Fun: Combining Dies and Stamps to Create a Scene

by Andrea Shell on Jan 28 2025
Hi there! It's Andrea back to share a colorful Easter card featuring Picket Fence Studios' January release. I just adore those cute bunnies from the Follow that Bunny stamp set! I wanted to combine them with the new Scene Building: A Tisket a Tasket Basket Die and Easter Egg Swag Die for a fun scene. I colored the bunnies with Copics and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I diecut the basket from lavender and yellow cardstocks with the A Tisket a Tasket Basket Die. I trimmed thin strips of lavender cardstock and wove them through the slits of the basket, securing the ends with liquid adhesive. I added shading with Copics to create some dimension. I diecut the eggs from colored cardstock with the Easter Egg Swag Die. Using my scissors, I trimmed the bows from the eggs, backed them with colored cardstock and added shading with Copics. For my background I first diecut white cardstock with the Pinking Shear A2 Cover Plate Die. After masking the outside edges of the diecut, I ink-blended the grass and sky with dye inks and Life Changing Blender Brushes. To create the sun rays, I used the Sun with Rays 6x8 Stencil. After ink-blending, I flicked water across the grass portion and blotted it with a paper towel. Next, I covered the bottom half of the panel and added Opaque Pale Yellow, Opaque Pale Lavender, and Opaque White Paper Splatters to the top. Once the panel was dry, I removed the masks and adhered the background to one of the Lovely Gingham Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts. I arranged my Easter basket, eggs and colored images onto my card, adhering them with a combination of glue and varying heights of foam adhesive. For my focal sentiment, I diecut the Happy Easter Word Die from glitter and white cardstocks and stacked the diecuts on my card. I stamped a supporting sentiment from Follow that Bunny, cut it out with the coordinating die, and popped it up onto my card. Thanks for stopping by! I had so much fun creating this card, and I hope it inspires you to combine dies and stamps to create little scenes on your projects, as well! *Affiliate links used at no cost to you.

Hello There - Memo Pad

by Brenda Noelke on Nov 01 2024
Happy Friday, fellow crafters!! Brenda back with you today!! I've always loved new notebooks...oh, the possibilities!! The beginning of the school year was so exciting to me because we always got new school supplies!! So, I was super excited to see the composition notebook products in the October release!!  I began by adhering a narrow strip of black cardstock along the left side of a panel of blue paper from the Memo Pad: Brights Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Front Pack. I used a corner rounder to round both of the corners on the right side. I rounded the right corners of an A2 card base and adhered the panel to it using liquid glue. Next, I die-cut the A2 Ripped Notebook Cover Plate Die from white cardstock. I stamped the numbers from the A2 Notebook Grid Stamp along the left edge of the die-cut with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. It was adhered to the front of the card. The sentiment is from the Hello There Word Die Set. It was cut from teal and black cardstock, stacked and adhered together with liquid glue, then added to the front of the card. A few Thunderstorm Gems add a bit of sparkle to finish off the card. I love how this turned out!! Did you always look forward to new school supplies?!? A brand new notebook still makes my heart happy!! Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a wonderful weekend!! Grateful for You

by Andrea Shell on Oct 16 2024
Hi there! It's Andrea back to share a card featuring several products from Picket Fence Studios' October release. You might recognize that cute girl from an earlier release: She's from the Freckle Friends: Penelope Pumpkin stamp set. I colored her with Copics, cut her out with the coordinating dies, and added white highlights with a gel pen. The marbled background was created with the new A2 Marble Notebook Cover stamp. I stamped it in pink onto white cardstock and diecut it with the new Beyond Basics: A2 Rectangles & Cover Plate Dies. I attached the background to a white card with double-sided adhesive. Using the new A2 Ripped Notebook Cover Plate Die, I diecut both white and peach cardstocks. Onto the white diecut, I stamped the small floral spray from the Autumn Bountiful Beauty set twice in a soft orange ink and a sentiment from the same set in black. I trimmed off the top portion of the peach diecut, leaving just the ripped edge. I adhered the white piece with foam to my card and tucked under the peach strip. I affixed my colored image with foam and added some gems from the new Thunderstorm Gem Mix for a little sparkle. For the finishing touch, I wrapped black twine around the top of the card. I began by stamping the Birthday Dance Confetti Stamp onto white cardstock with dye inks in shades of blue and green. It was die-cut with the smallest die in the A2 Layering Rectangle Die Set. The "happy" die from the Happy Birthday Word Die Set was die-cut from the center of the panel. It was adhered to a panel of Birthday Bash Fabulous Foiling Toner Card Stock that was cut out with the largest die in the A2 Layering Rectangles Die Set. The "birthday" script was also from the Happy Birthday Word Die Set. It was die-cut once from black glitter cardstock and three times from heavyweight white cardstock, then stacked and adhered together and adhered across the center of the card. The Sound of the Sea Helps Tides Rise

by Brenda Noelke on Apr 15 2024
Happy Monday, Picket Fence friends!! Brenda here with a shaker card created with goodies from the Ocean Odyssey Release that just dropped yesterday!! Such a fantastic release!! My card today features the Seahorses of the Sea Stamp Set & Coordinating Dies, the Beachcomber Fabulous Glossy A2 Card Fronts!! I started much like I do most cards, by stamping the seahorse from the Seahorses of the Sea Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored him with Copic markers, added highlights with a white gel pen and used the Coordinating Die to cut him out.   Next, I created my shaker by die-cutting a panel of cardstock from the Beachcombing Fabulous Glossy A2 Card Fronts with the smallest rectangle die in the A2 Rectangle Layering Die Set and cutting an oval with a die in the Basic Die Cutting Set 1 Die Set. Can we just take a moment to appreciate how stunning this cardstock is?!? So beautiful!! I adhered the oval in the center of a panel of burnt orange cardstock that was cut out with the largest die in the A2 Rectangle Layering Die Set. Acetate and foam tape were adhered to the front panel, Tropical Breeze Sequins were added for the shakers and the layers were adhered together.  The sentiment is also from the Seahorses of the Sea Stamp Set. Not only does the sound of the sea help the tides rise...it totally relaxes me!! The sentiment was stamped onto white cardstock with burnt orange ink and cut out with the Coordinating Die. The seahorse and sentiment were adhered to the front of the card with liquid glue and this card was complete. I LOVE these colors and who doesn't love a shaker card?!? Be sure to check out the fabulous Ocean Odyssey Release in the shop!! Thank you so much for spending part of your Monday with me!! Have a great week!! Brenda

The two rectangle layers were adhered to the background. The sentiment is also from The Right Pair of Boots Stamp Set. Have some Christmas Joy

by Sammi Offield on Sep 19 2023
Hey crafty friends! Sammi here to show you a 6x6 card made with the NEW Christmas Joy stamp set from the new release! I just love this stamp set and the cute squirrel! I decided to make a snowy night background and wanted to pair it up with the A Forest Walk stamp for the background. Here is how I made this card! First I inkblended the background with blues for a night look. I used Catherine Pooler inks for my ink. I then stamped the A Forest Walk stamp with the Picket Fence Hybrid Black ink so that it covered the whole card panel. I then took some white acrylic ink and splattered white across to create a snowy background. I then stamped the Christmas Joy stamp set with Picket Fence Black Hybrid ink and then cut it out with my Scan-N-Cut and then colored the images with Copic markers. I started with the greenery and then the florals so I could keep track of the images and the background. This was a great image to color!  I then popped the colored image onto the background with foam tape. I then stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock and cut it down to a square and used some red cardstock to mat it. I then popped it onto the card panel with foam tape.  I then added some embellishments from the Santa Cookies embellishments. I then matted the card panel with red cardstock and then glued it onto a 6x6 card base.  I just love how this card came out! This stamp set and AMAZING! The stamp set would be perfect for a A2 sized card to, I just wanted to make a 6x6 to show off a great background with the A Forst Walk stamp set. Hey crafty friends!! Sammi here to share a card featuring the A2 Ghost House from the new release! The new release is so AWESOME! It is such an amazing and huge release - definitely something for everyone!  For this card, the first thing I wanted to do was to create my spooky sky. Using the moon mask from the new Mini Haunted Moon stencil, I masked where I wanted the moon to be and then ink blended the sky using Distress Oxide inks. After I was done, I removed the mask and then stenciled in the rest of the moon using the rest of the moon stencil set. I then created the bats with some Black Pansy Paper Glaze along with the Bat Crazy 6x8 stencil. While the Paper Glaze was drying, I then cut out the Ghost House with black card stock and then glued some yellow card stock in the window openings and where the light from the windows shines on the ground. I then cut another Ghose House out of black glitter card stock and glued it on top of the black piece, adding some white pigment ink to create a shadowy look. I then glued the house onto the card panel. I then added the sentiment from the People are my Favorite, Mummy stamp and die set and then glued the card panel onto a A2 card base.  I absolutely love this set! So many possibilities and so easy to work with! Here is what you need from the new release to make this card: Bat Crazy 6x8 Stencil – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) Mini Haunted Blending Stencil – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) A2 Ghost House Cover Plate Die – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) People are my Favorite, Mummy – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) People are my Favorite, Mummy Coordinating Die – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! Another Rainbow for all Seasons by Laura

by Laura Nistal on Jul 11 2023
Hello everyone! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "Tweet Tweet Friends Stamps” which I stamped with the “Black Hybrid ink pad” and then painted with alcohol markers. Then to give the stamps more relief, I used the white Gelly Roll in the areas where I wanted to give shine and the black Micron Pigma in the areas where I wanted to give more depth. Below I used the “Tweet Tweet Friends Coordinating dies” to cut them out, but you can also carefully cut them out with scissors. Next I prepared the rainbow with the “Another Rainbow for All Seasons Die” that I cut in different colors. I also cut the clouds out of the "Slimline Curvy Rainbow Die” to support the rainbow. For the background I used the “Slimline Cloud Coverage Stencil” to simulate a sky and I painted it with distress inks. And for the sentiment I used a phrase from the “Tweet Tweet Friebds Stamps” that i stamped with the “Black Hybrid ink pad”. Finally I prepared the composition, glued all the pieces and this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store. A huge kiss and until next time!

HiHeyHello - Longneck Family Kit

by Sammi Offield on Jun 09 2023
Hey crafty friends! Sammi here to share a card made with the AMAZING Longneck Family kit! This kit is FULL of so many goodies to play with! There are stamps, dies, glazes, sequins, a stencil, paper, twine and more! Today I am sharing a card made with the Hi Hey Hello, Giraffe stamp and the Long Neck Family kit Paper Glaze. This glaze is amazing! Here is how I made this card! Fist I stamped the giraffe with the PFS Black Hybrid Ink Pad and colored him with Copic markers. I then fussy cut out him out and then edged the edges with brown distress inks.  I really love the vintage piece of paper that comes with the kit. It is bigger than a A2 sized card, so I tore it down to size and then edged it with Distress inks to make it look aged. I then took the stencil and stenciled the piece with the Long Neck Family kit Paper Glaze and let it dry. After it was dry, I then curled in the edges in various spots to make it look more aged and added some more Distress ink.  In the kit are many colors of cardstock. I chose to use the darker hunter green color and I cut a piece down to a A2 size. In the kit is a small little sander. I love it! I took the sander and sanded the edges of the green piece of cardstock and then added some Distress ink to make it looked aged. I then cut a sentiment piece and repeated the same process. I then embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.  I then glued the stenciled piece of paper onto the green card panel, then I glued the sentiment onto the card panel. I then added the giraffe with some foam tape and then glued the card panel onto a A2 card base. To finish the look, I added some sequins that come with the kit.  Here is what you need to make this card: Long Neck Family Exclusive Kit – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) Black Hybrid Ink Pad – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) I love how this card came out! It looks so safari! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

On This Special Day card

by Evgeniya Ishbul’dina on Mar 17 2023
Hello there! It's Eugy here, and today I'm sharing this bright birthday card I made using the fun sentiment die set called "On This Special Day Word Die." I've been wanting to use this word die set for quite some time now to make a special card for someone's birthday, and I'm so excited to finally share how it turned out. I love how the large, blocky font of this die cut sentiment contrasts with the fun, whimsical patterns on the patterned paper I created for the card base. Here I paired the Tree Bark 6×8 Stencil and the Presents for All Seasons stamp. This was the first time I tried brand new tool: Paper Pouncers. The stencil and pouncers are versatile tools that can be used in many different ways to create a wide array of beautiful patterns and textures. I look forward to experimenting further with these products to achieve additional unique effects and backgrounds in the future. I accented the card with some gold foil cardstock for some fun texture and finished it off with a few gemstones from the Ghost House Gem Mix. Overall I'm really pleased with how this birthday card turned out. I hope it inspires you in your own crafting and card making adventures! Have a great weekend! Eugy

Hello, Picket Fence friends!! Welcome back to the Countdown to Christmas!! Brenda here with a festive, frosty scene card to share with you today featuring the Jolly Christmas Gnome Stamp Set. I began by stamping the amazing Jolly Christmas Gnome Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored him with Copic markers, then used the Coordinating Die to cut him out. For the background, I die-cut the Slimline Rectangle Tree Cover Plate Die from dark brown cardstock. I trimmed a panel of white cardstock for the snow, added some shading with Copics, then adhered it to an A2 panel of light blue cardstock. The tree was adhered to the background and the excess was trimmed from the edges. I added some Winter Snowfall Paper Glaze Velvet with a paintbrush and sprinkled on some clear glitter while it was still wet. I splattered some diluted white gouache onto the background for the snowfall in my winter scene. The sentiment is also from the Jolly Christmas Gnome Stamp Set. It was white heat embossed onto black cardstock, then cut out with the Coordinating Die. The gnome and sentiment were both popped up with foam adhesive. I added some snow to the gnome with a white gel pen and my scene was finished!!   This Jolly Christmas Gnome has sooooo much character!! I just LOVE him!! Thanks so much for dropping in today!! Have a wonderful Wednesday and be sure to check back each day for more inspiration during the Christmas Countdown!!
