Hello everyone! Bonnie here from BONNIECAROLLEE.com. I have a fun and easy resist technique to share with you using Picket Fence Studios' paper glaze. I will be featuring two fabulous products in three cards; This Rain Will Pass and THX Word Die.
The backgrounds for the three cards were created on panels of Bristol Smooth card stock. Two or three of the following Paper Glazes were applied to the panels; Paper Glaze Ombré Sunset Purples A and Sky Blues A and Pink Carnation. Paper Glaze Luxe Arctic Fox was used for all three panels. The glaze was applied with a fan brush in light sweeping motions diagonally. The colours are light but shimmery so it is easy to see how much glaze is being applied to get a consistent application across the panel while ensuring there are thin bands of card stock exposed. Zig markers were used to apply the colour for the resist but any water based marker will work. Simply apply the colour and use a water brush pen or a paint brush to create a gradient. The colour will be accepted on the exposed card stock.
For the cards featuring This Rain Will Pass, the images were also coloured with Zig markers. One image was stamped with a light grey ink for 'no line' colouring. This image was masked when the paper glaze background was applied. For the other card, the image was stamped with Picket Fence Studios’ Black Hybrid Ink and clear embossed. The embossed image was cut with the coordinating die and the paper glaze applied to the panel after it was die cut. Some texture was also applied around the image using Post It Note Tape for simple masking. Both panels were mounted on foam. For the second card, the die cut image was recessed. The sentiments were stacked on die cuts using the coordinating die.
For the third card, the fabulous THX Word Die was die cut from navy card stock four times and stacked. A combination of the soft pastel shades of the paper glaze and Arctic Fox Luxe were applied to white card stock using a squeegee. A layer of Paper Glitz Sparkle was added with a Mixed Media Spatula. After the panel was completely dry, it was die cut and off set on the stack of navy die cuts. The secondary sentiment from This Rain Will Pass was stacked on die cuts using the coordinating die. The sentiments were adhered to the background. All of the cards were embellished with sequins from the Sequin Plus Mix Under The Sea.
