Happy Friday! Eugy here and I’m so excited to share with you a lovely shaker card I made using the new Purr-fect for Me stamp and coordinating die from our May release. Can't get over how adorable these designs are! I started by stamping the images and then added color with my Copic Markers. And for the background, I used the Scene Building: Grass Tufts Dies, which added a perfect spring-summer vibe to my card. The grass was brought to life by some blending using the Rainbow Paper Pouncers. Then I cut shaker window out using the Matching Misshapen Stitched Circle Dies. And guess what went inside? The Sequin Mix Plus - Strawberry Daquiri! It gives a cute, sparkly effect that is just irresistible. Now, I have some exciting news for you! Don't forget that we have our Memorial Day Sale this weekend. It's the perfect opportunity to snag some products at amazing prices. So mark your calendars, it's going to be an exciting weekend! Happy crafting! Eugy

Skipping rope with friends by Laura

by Laura Nistal on May 24 2023
Hello everyone! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "Skipping rope with friends Stamps” which I stamped with the “Black Hybrid ink pad” and then painted with alcohol markers. Then to give the stamps more relief, I used the white Gelly Roll in the areas where I wanted to give shine and the black Micron Pigma in the areas where I wanted to give more depth. Below I used the “Skipping rope with friends Coordinating dies” to cut them out, but you can also carefully cut them out with scissors. For the background I used a white cardboard on which I used the “Cloud Coverage stencil” to draw the clouds... For the grass I used the die "Scene Building: Grassy Hill Die” which I also painted in the same shades of green. For the sentiment I used a phrase from the same set of stamps that i stamped with the “Black Hybrid ink pad”. Finally I prepared the composition, glued all the pieces and this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store. A huge kiss and until next time!

Winter card by Laura

by Laura Nistal on Oct 19 2022
Hello everyone!! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this winter card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "Frolicking Winter Friends" Stamps set that I stamped with "Black Hybrid ink pad" which is perfect for this type of stamps! Then I painted all the images with alcohol markers and then with a white marker I glossed it to make it stand out.  Then i cut out the images using the "Frolicking Winter Friends" coordinating dies but you can carefully cut them out with scissors if you prefer. Next I prepared the background: for this I used a white cardboard where I stamped with black ink the stamp "Scene Building Winter Scenery". Then I cut it out and glued a black cardboard to it to make a frame. For the sentiment I used the "Happy Day Word Topper Die" which I cut out of red and black cardstock and overlapped. Finally I prepared the composition, glued all the pieces and this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store. A huge kiss and until next time! Laura

More leaves Card by Laura

by Laura Nistal on Jul 27 2022
Hello everyone!! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this fall card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "More Maple Leaves", "More Oak Leaves" and "More Ash Leaves" dies that i cut on gold and black cardboard. Next I prepared the background: for this I cut the outside of the leaf dies and used them as a stencil. Then I randomly placed them in the background and painted them with Distress Oxide inks in earth tones. Then I was pasting the leaves on top, but with a little offset to give it a different touch. For the sentiment i cut the "Good day to you word" die on gold cardboard and placed it in the center of the card. And this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store.  A huge kiss and until next time! Laura

Hi all friends, I am happy to be here on the blog with a new inspiration. In the June release came out this fantastic stamp..... A Hummingbird's Song  and as soon as I saw it I had the idea how to make my own card. I created the background by mixing 6 different shades of ink, then stamped with black embossing powder. I really like the silhouette effect and I think this stamp is perfect for this technique. To embellish, I used Sequin Mix Plus Day of RaimbowHave a great week!!! Claudia

Thinking of You Shaker Card with Karen Reategui

by Karen Reategui on Oct 07 2021
Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing the shaker card featuring the Torch Ginger Tropical Flower Stamp and Die, More Fancy Sentiments Stamp and Dies, Center Flower 6x6 Stencil, Silver Bells Paper Glitz and Iridescent Moonshine Sequin Mix.   Let's begin! I started by placing the Flower 6x6 Stencil on top of an A2 panel and applied Silver Bells Paper Glitz using the Mixed Media Spatulas. I removed the stencil and let this panel dry for about 20 minutes.     Once the panel was dry, I added a card base at the back using glue. Next, I die cut a frame using two rectangles dies out of peach cardstock. Additionally, I die cut a piece of acetate and adhered it to the back of the frame using double sided tape. This way I created the window for the shaker.      Next, I poured the Iridescent Moonshine Sequin Mix on top of the background created with the Silver Bells Paper Glitz. I also adhered foam tape around the window of the shaker, removed the backing paper and placed it on top of the background to close the shaker window.       Torch Ginger Tropical Flower Stamp was stamped using Gingerbread Wood Hybrid ink from Scrapbook.com and I colored the image using Copic markers. I die cut this image using the matching die and placed it on top of the shaker background.     Finally, my sentiment from More Fancy Sentiments Stamp was stamped using Black Hybrid ink pad and then it was die cut using the coordinating die. I placed the sentiment at the lower part of the card and it was finished.   I really hope you enjoyed this card and give it a try. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day. Your friend, Karen

Coloring with Paper Glitz

by Karen Reategui on Sep 13 2021

Hello crafty friends! Today i'm sharing one of the cards that I made for the 7 in 7 event. On this slimline card I colored through a stencil using Paper Glitz and a dauber. The products that I used for this slimline card are Slim Line Oversized Joy to the World Die, Slim Line Cut Flower Stencil, Paper Glitz Autumn Persimmon,  Paper Glitz Lime Christmas Green, Paper Glitz True Christmas Red and Slim Line Die Cutting System.    I started by adding Pixie spray to the back of the Slim Line Cut Flower stencil, then I placed it on top of a heavy cardstock. I applied small quantities of Paper Glitz with dauber, coloring the center of the flower, the petals and the space around.  The colors I used were Paper Glitz Autumn Persimmon, Paper Glitz Lime Christmas Green, Paper Glitz True Christmas Red. Next, I let the panel dry for about 20 minutes. Paper Glitz is a medium that dries very fast which is very helpful. Once my panel was dry, I die cut it using a layering base die from the Slim Line Die Cutting System. I also added on top of this background a piece of velum. Then, I adhered a black folded card base. On a piece of cardstock I applied  Paper Glitz Autumn Persimmon using a spatula and let it dry. Once it was dry, I die cut the  Slim Line Oversized Joy to the World Die out of it. Additionally, I die cut another set of these dies out of white cardstock to be used as a shadow behind the die cuts with Paper Glitz Autumn Persimmon. Finally, I added the Joy to the World die cuts on top of the velum using tape runner and this Slimline Christmas card was ready. Below you will find a list of supplies that I used to created this card. I hope you like this card and give a try this very fun technique. Enjoy your week and happy crafting! Your friend,  Karen

You Are Nothing Short Of Amazing

by Lisa Tilson on Sep 08 2021
Hello everyone, Lisa here today to share an Autumnal card with you, but with a very clean and simple vibe. For today's card I thought I would use one of the Slim Line Die Cutting System Inserts, but on an A2 card and also not as an insert! It's always good to find different ways to use the dies you have and these inserts can work really well not just as an insert but also as a standalone die. You can stack them up, which is sort of what I did for my card and I used the lovely Tree Scenery Insert. Isn't that tree just so pretty? I began by creating my stripey background and for this I just cut some strips of red, yellow and orange cardstocks and adhered them onto a piece of printer paper that I had added some Stick It Adhesive to. I then used wet adhesive to glue the stripey panel onto a top folding A2 110lb white base card, trimming off any excess at the sides. Next I took the Tree Scenery die and die cut it from 110lb Neenah Solar White cardstock. I then took a slightly larger circle die and cut it again to create the narrow circular frame. Now, here is the bit where I should have done things a bit differently. I added tiny bits of foam tape behind the tree and circle frame which was very fiddly and although it worked out alright, it wasn't as stable as I would have liked it to be. What I should have done was cut 2 or 3 more trees the same way and then adhered them together to create a stack. That would definitely have been easier and would have been more stable. Having said that I do like that it has a less chunky/chipboard feel to it. Swings and roundabouts! Before removing the paper from the tape and adding the tree onto the base card, I popped the card into the MISTI and took a sentiment from Nothing Short Of Amazing and stamped it using Black Hybrid Ink. I then removed the paper from the foam tape and adhered the tree down before embellishing it with a few gems from Autumn Leaves Gem Mix. I do think that the card turned out looking really pretty. I always love the drama and contrast of a pretty die against a bright stripey background. I hope that this gives you some inspiration for your insert dies. Until next time, have a great day and happy crafting!

Cats Are Family with Erica

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Jun 08 2021
Hi guys!  It's Erica back on the Picket Fence blog with a card I made with the darling Cats Are Family stamp and whilst I didn't use it, it has a coordinating die set. It's purr-fect, if you ask me.  I stamped up the biggest image in the set with Black Hybrid Ink on Copic friendly ink, on Neenah card stock.  Naturally I went with a rainbow theme for the books the cat is perched on. I mean, duh, right? LOL.  The cat was coloured grey as I have a stray cat living with me, who's grey and I call him Carlos The Cat. He's very cheeky and likes to perch on top of our gate post, taunting The Cheeky Chicas (my dogs)  The final thing I added was a shadow from the books and the cat, as we live in sunny Spain and I love sunshine. Oh, and the sentiment in the top right corner was stamped with Black Hybrid ink. I almost added sequins, because cats love bling and round things, right? But I managed to resist!  That's it from me for today but thanks for stopping by! If you would like a colouring tutorial for this, let me know in the comments and I will start working on it.  Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica

Then You Came Into My Life

by Lisa Tilson on May 26 2021
Hello there! Lisa here today to share a card with you using the new Dream With Me Cover Plate die. As soon as I saw this die, I knew I would want to use it as a silhouette. But don't let that limit you, you can die cut and watercolour it or ink blend over it, or colour it with markers, like you can with many dies. But I wanted a dreamy night time sky, behind the silhouette. To start, I took some Arches Cold Pressed cardstock and watercoloured the background using Gansai Tambi paints - numbers 63, 62, 60 and 20.  Number 20 is actually black and that ended up getting hidden just behind the die in the end. As always with watercolour I work in layers, letting each layer dry in between. I worked my colours down the card panel to just over half way. I wanted to keep the bottom area white and free to highlight the girl on the swing. Once dry, I adhered this to a top folding notecard. I took some black cardstock and ran it through the die cutting machine with the cover plate die and then I adhered gold cardstock behind, so that the stars and moon would stand out against the black. This was then glued down over the top of the watercolored panel. Before gluing it down, I went around the edges with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker so that you couldn't see any gold peeking out anywhere. To finish I popped the card in the MISTI and stamped a sentiment from Que Sera Sera using Black Hybrid Ink. I thought that the sentiment was just perfect for the mood of the card and the vibe of someone travelling through the sky and arriving into someone's world. If I told you how long it takes me to find sentiments to go on my cards, you probably wouldn't believe it! I'm very fussy about having the right font, composition and meaning on a card. Rooting around all my sets is all part of the fun of cardmaking! Thanks for stopping by, and I'll see you again soon. Happy crafting!

Just Because

by Ceal Pritchett on May 19 2021
Happy Wednesday! It's Ceal here. Today I am sharing a card using the Tropical Hibiscus Bouquet stamp set.  To create this card I started with a white top folding card base, a black panel and a white heavystock panel for the image. I stamped the image with our black hybrid ink and then watercolored it using Karin markers. I love how these watercolor markers have so much pigment and are so bright.  For the greeting I used a sentiment from the More Fancy Sentiments stamp set stamped in versamark ink on black and then embossed with white powder. I used the More Fancy Sentiments die to cut it out.  Supply List with affiliate links at no extra cost to you.

Rainbow birthday card with Michelle

by Michelle Lupton on Apr 23 2021
Hello! Michelle here today to share a rainbow card I made using products from this month's release. I inked this card in a most unusual way! I had a very, VERY old ink pad that had a rainbow of colours on a series of little foam pads. The foam had degraded so much that the pad was unusable, so I swiped the pad over some card bases and then scraped the degraded foam off the surface with a stencil scraping tool. (You could achieve the same look by masking off stripes and ink blending heavily with a rainbow inks)  I then placed the Details of a Wing stencil over the rainbow card and added white pigment ink using a Life Changing Blender brush.  I then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Inside Quotes: Birthday set in black ink, and adhered a thin strip of black cardstock to cover up the edge of the inked portion of the card. Thanks for visiting :)

Just Peeking in on You! with Karen Reategui

by Karen Reategui on Apr 15 2021
Hi friends! Today I’m over Picket Fence Studios blog showing this slimline card featuring the new Cats are Family Stamp and dies, Scallop Frame Slimline Dies and Slimline Details of a Wing Stencil.   Let’s begin! I placed the Slimline Details of a Wing Stencil on top of a white cardstock an using a Life Changing Blender Brush I applied Lawn Fawn Manatee ink. Then, I used one of the scallop frame to die cut the cardstock using my Gemini Jr. Additionally, using one of the circle die from the Slimline Die Cutting System I die cut the scalloped frame.   I placed a Neenah Desert Storm panel underneath the scalloped panel using glue. At this point, I needed to stamp the sentiment from the same stamp Cats are Family and using Black Hybrid ink.   Finally, I stamped two images from Cats are Family Stamp using Gingerbread Hybrid ink onto a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White. I colored them using Copic markers and then I die cut them with them coordinating dies. Also, a white folded slimline card was adhered at the back using glue and this card was done. I really hope you like this card and give this stamp a try. Have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by! Your friend, Karen

Wild Peonies with Karen Reategui

Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing this floral slimline card using Aurora Borealis stamp, Wild Peonis stamp set and the new Thank You word die from the February release. I heat embossed this image and added color using Copic markers.     Let's start! Using the Slimline Die Cutting System I die cut a layering base from white cardstock and heat embossed on top the Aurora Borealis stamp using WOW! Metallic Gold Embossing Powder. Next, I adhered a white folded slimline card at the back with glue.      On a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80 lbs. I stamped the Wild Peonies stamp using Black Hybrid ink from Picket Fence Studios and I colored it using Copic markers. I recently damaged two Copic markers while coloring on top of a heat embossed image so from now on I decided to first stamp my image using a Copic friendly ink and then after I finished coloring I can heat emboss.      To be able to first stamp the image with ink and then stamp it again in the same place to heat emboss after you finish coloring you will need a MISTI, so don't remove your stamp from the MISTI door. So once I finished coloring I placed my piece of cardstock inside the MISTI again and inked up my image with WOW! Embossing Pad and then I heat embossed it with WOW! Metallic Gold Embossing Powder.        I fussy cut this image and added it to my background using foam tape for more dimension, then I trimmed down the parts hanging out of the edges. Additionally, I die cut 5 times the Thank You word die out of white cardstock and once from gold mirror specialty paper. I glued them all with the gold die cut on top and added it to my background next to the flowers.       As a final touch I added these new Gem Mixes coming soon to the Picket Fence Studios shop. They matched perfectly the color combination from this card that I had to used them, but they will be part of the March release. I really hope you like this card and give it a try, it's a very easy card and so elegant that I'm sure anyone would love to get it. Thank you so much for stopping by and see you next time. Have a marvelous week. Your friend, Karen

As soon as I saw this new stamp from Picket Fence Studios, I saw it as a rainbow.   I stamped and white embossed the image from The Sleeping Tree, then added colour using Zig markers and a water brush. I added a stamped sentiment form BFF Favorite Hello   Thanks for visiting :)
