Trick or treat Hallowen card

by Silvana Chambon on Aug 29 2024
Hello, friends! Welcome to Picket Fence Studios´blog! It´s Silvana here from Casa Magnolia  and today I want to share with you a fun and easy Halloween card made with some of the new products from the last release.   The card features the new Trick or Treat Halloween word die set which has the phrase "trick or treat" "Halloween" word and three different sized bats. I cut two times the phrase with white heavy cardstock and stack them together. For the top layer, I foiled a piece of Solid Black Fabulous Foiling Toner Cardstock  with the Silver Strobe Lights Fabulous Foiling Toner . I cut the bats in black cardstock and set all aside.  I made the background with alcohol inks and yupo paper. I stamped the new Cheers, witches stamp with embossing ink and black embossing powder.  I know that yupo is not supposed to be heated, because it can curl if you over heat it because it´s plastic, but you can heat embossing over it. You need to be careful and not leave the heat gun in the same spot for too long or get it too close to the paper. It will get more time but it´s doable.  I assembled the card over an A2 card base, adding some black sequins for embellish. It´s a simple card but the alcohol ink background and the sparkle of the foiling make it stands and make it a fun halloween card.  I hope you like it and gives you an idea to your next Halloween card.  See you in my next blog post.  Have a fantastic day! Silvana.

Friendly and Cute Ghosts!

by Colleen Balija on Aug 28 2024
Hi friends! For those of you that like to keep it cute on Halloween, I've got the cutest Halloween card to share with you today! I'll be using Trick or Treat Halloween word dies and Be My Boo stamp set!  First, I stamped all of the ghosts from the Be My Boo stamp set (there are 8 in all) onto a piece of white cardstock to create a background. I added a few of the sentiments from the set to fill in white space. Next, I colored the ghosts and their cute little decorations! Once I finished coloring, I trimmed the card panel down significantly, along with a piece of black cardstock slightly larger. Then I die cut the Trick or Treat word die right through the middle of the ghost card panel. I die cut 2 more layers of the phrase and adhered them together. I adhered the ghost card panel onto the piece of black cardstock, and then inserted the letters from Trick or Treat back into place on the card panel. The sentiment popped out because I used 3 layers of it! I added silver DecoGel over the letters to help it stand out even more without taking away from the cohesiveness of my ghost designs!  You can see the sentiment in the photo above! Finally, I adhered my finished Ghost panel over a background that was stamped using a fun Halloween background stamp! Then I added Gold DecoGel pen in various places along with Black pen over the eyes of those cute little ghosts!  This card will go to my 10-year-old granddaughter for Halloween, and she'll love it! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Sweet & Spooky Halloween Card

by Andrea Shell on Aug 16 2024
Hello there! It's Andrea back with you to share a sweet and spooky Halloween card featuring new products from Picket Fence Studios. Isn't that girl adorable in her cat costume?! She's from the new Freckle Friends: Bella Boo stamp set. I colored her with Copics and added highlights with a white gel pen. It doesn't show in the photos, but I also brushed clear sparkle over her costume (What little girl wouldn't love a sparkly cat costume?). That awesome background is from the new Halloween Cottages Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts. You really don't need to do much when you have backgrounds this fantastic! I trimmed mine down and matted it with black cardstock. That fun gingham paper is from the new Haunted Halloween Gingham Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts. I trimmed it slighly, adhered it to a white card and attached my matted panel on top. I popped up my colored image with foam squares and added a couple of bats created with the Trick or Treat Halloween Word Dies. I diecut the bats from two colors of glitter paper, offset them slightly and attached them with a dot of glue under the bodies, bending up the wings for dimension. The sentiment is from the previously-released Ghosts of Halloween Past stamp set. I heat-embossed it in white and diecut it with the coordinating dies. I attached my sentiment with foam, and my card was done. Thanks for stopping by! *Affiliate links used at no cost to you.

A Spooky Flight!

by Colleen Balija on Aug 02 2024
Hi friends! It's Colleen here, and I'm going to share a spooktacular Halloween card with you today! For my card, I'll be using the new A Spooky Flight stamp and die set, Liquid Paper Splatters in Kiwi Lime, and Falling Brick Wall die plate.  This card was perhaps the most fun one of the month! I'm going to give this one to my 10-year-old granddaughter - she loves Halloween, and she loves purple! And it's not a scary card, it's cute! First, I stamped the butterfly / bats (they look like a bat and a butterfly got together and had a baby!) and heat embossed them with a deep purple embossing powder. Then I colored them in with my Copic markers in V04 and RV17 (I mixed the 2 together to get a unique color). Then I die cut each of them out with the coordinating dies.  Already I was LOVING the look of this card! Next, I wanted to create a dark background for the butterfly / bats (do these really exist?). To add texture to a black background panel, I die cut Falling Brick Wall die, added the purple embossing powder, and adhered it over the black cardstock. Then, I stamped the sentiment words from this set that say "Spooky", "Fun", Halloween" and "Night" in the purple embossing powder all over the background panel. I added foam tape to my butterfly / bats and placed them over the background panel, deliberately placing a few off the side of the card panel and then trimming them. I finished with Liquid Paper Splatters in Kiwi Lime all over the card panel! I am thrilled with how this turned out, spooky and playful all at the same time! And I still want to know if butterfly / bats actually do exist! The Kiwi Lime Splatters were actually added as an afterthought, and I love how it looks on this card!!! A Magical Lot by Laura

Hello everyone! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this Halloween card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "A Magical Lot Stamps” which I stamped with the “Black Hybrid ink pad” and then painted with alcohol markers. Then to give the stamps more relief, I used the white Gelly Roll in the areas where I wanted to give shine and the black Micron Pigma in the areas where I wanted to give more depth. Below I used the “A Magical Lot Coordinating dies” to cut them out, but you can also carefully cut them out with scissors. For the background I used the “A2 Ghost House Cover Plate Die” that I cut in black cardboard and then I prepared a sunset with distress oxide inks in very typical Halloween colors. And for the sentiment I used a phrase from the “A Magical Lot Stamps” that i stamped with the “Black Hybrid ink pad”. Finally I prepared the composition, glued all the pieces and this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store. A huge kiss and until next time!

Hello and welcome to the Picket Fence Studios blog! It´s Silvana here and today I´m sharing a fun Halloween card made with some new products from the July release. You can see all the collection here.  In the background, I used the new Mini Hot Flashes Stencil with different tones of Distress Oxides inks imitating the colors of the fire. Then, I used the Mini Haunted Moon Blending Stencil in the top of the card. Over the moon, I needed a flying witch so I used the one in the Slim Line Welcome to the Graveyard Blending Stencil. This malefic witch set on fire the woods of the A Nightly Sky stamp set.  To finish the scene, I heat embossed with white embossing powder a sentiment from the new Inappropriate Halloween stamp set.  The final result is a very fun card appropriate for that special witch friend.  I hope you like it and encourages you to use your stencils! Have a fantastic week. I´ll leave you the products list below with my affiliates links. Thank you so much for your support! Silvana.

Halloween banner with dies!

by Silvana Chambon Scarenzio on Sep 08 2022
Hello! It´s Silvana here with another inspiration post.  Is it too early to start thinking about Halloween decor...? Never! The spooky season is around the corner and we need to be prepared. Last release inspired meto make a banner just with dies. Yes! The dies are the most versatile and durable product that we can purchase and we can stretch the use of them in creative ways.  For the banner base I used the A2 Haunted Lair Cover Plate die woth a hevy weight black cardstock.  The funny ghosts are the Three Ghastly friends die that are perfect for this! In the middle, I put the ghost over the A2 Spooky tree die just to make it more spooky.  The Happy Halloween word die was cut three times in different colors made with the incredibles Paper Glaze velvet in Bonfire, Split pea soup and Sea urchin colors.  I hope you enjoyed this idea and give it a try! See you soon with more inspiration.  Silvana.

Guardian of the Graveyard!

by Rachelle Oltean on Aug 11 2021
Hello! It’s Rachelle and I’ve got a spooky graveyard ‘rocker’ card for you today featuring lots of the amazing Halloween products from the July Release! I began by die cutting a 5” circle from heavy weight black card stock and scoring it in half to create my ‘rocking’ card base. I applied “Lime Christmas Green Paper Glitz” to the bottom half and set it aside to dry. A second 4.75” circle was die cut twice from heavy weight orange card stock, glued together, coated with “Autumn Persimmon Paper Glitz” and set it aside to dry as well. The standing ghost from the “Not Scared? You Should Be!” Stamp Set was heat embossed with white power on heavy vellum and fussy cut. Since there are a lot of small intricate pieces on this gorgeous scene, I die cut the “Halloween Graveyard Cover Plate Die” on heavy black card stock using my metal plate adaptor and it cut perfectly! I backed the windows in the haunted house with lime green card stock to coordinate with my Paper Glitz, heat embossed the sassy sentiment and added some sequins from the “Trick Or Treaters” Sequins Mix Plus. To assemble, I reinforced the score line on the ‘rocking’ card base with my Teflon Bone Folder and attached the orange Paper Glitz circle with Scor-Tape. After determining the ghost’s position, it was adhered in place onto the orange backdrop and the graveyard die cut panel was attached on top with foam tape and liquid adhesive. A couple of tiny die cut bats (from the Witch Slim Line Die Cutting System Insert) were added to finish up the card! I just love this interactive design and that giant ghost guarding the graveyard as it rocks from side to side! Thanks so much for joining me today and happy crafting! Rachelle
