A Birthday Cupcake Just for You!

by Colleen Balija on Feb 06 2024
Hi friends! It's Colleen again and I'm sharing another birthday card using the new Wreath Building: Cupcakes for You stamp and Wreath Building: Centers and Foliage stamp. I'm also using the existing Layering Flora Happy Fern die and Tangerine and Sunlight Yellow flatback pearls!  These sets are made to create beautiful wreathes, but I wanted to combine the Wreath Building cupcake stamp and Centers & Foliage stamp into one card. So, I decided to stamp the wreaths and place the cupcakes inside of each, building a lovely background!  First, I stamped the solid circles from the Wreath Building: Centers and Foliage stamp in a dark shade of brown ink. Next, I stamped the tiny dots stamp from the set in a shade of yellow, deliberately offsetting the stamp for a playful effect! It's subtle, but those little details take your card to the next level! When I finished creating a background with the circles, I stamped a few of the mini cupcakes in the center of each circle. Then I stamped a few of the teeny tiny pieces of fruit (so adorable) from the cupcake stamp set to fill in the extra space between. I also stamped one of the leaves from the Centers and Foliage set (this set can be made into a lovely wreath as well!).  Once the stamping was complete, I colored the cupcakes and fruit. Then I trimmed the panel, setting the outer part of the panel aside, and placed the center panel over a slightly larger dark brown panel. Then I adhered both over the outer part of the panel to create a fun effect that adds interest to a one-layer card!   The remaining step was to add the sentiment, which was stamped in dark brown ink from the Cupcakes for You stamp, surrounded by the wreath stamped in yellow. I die cut the sentiment in a circle and placed it over the white Layering Flora leaf. The leaf helped the sentiment not get lost in that busy background. I finished with shimmer and glossy accents on the cupcakes as well as pearl sequins!  I love how organic the card looks! Thanks so much for joining me today! Scene Cards with Larisa

by Larisa Hohman on Aug 25 2021
Hello, Larisa here and today I'm sharing a couple of scene cards featuring the New Release!   For my first card, I paired the NEW Lots of Christmas Cheer Stamp Set with the NEW Slim Line Our Town Cover Plate Die.  To begin, I started with the Scallop Frames Slim Line Die Cutting System and used it to cut a piece of white card stock and a red scalloped piece to mat behind it.  Using my Life Changing Blender Brushes, I added some blue distress ink to the background.  Then I die cut a piece of black card stock with the Our Town Cover Plate Die.  I adhered that to the center of my background piece.  Then I tore a piece of white card stock and added that just under the town to mimic the look of snow.  I stamped out the grouped animal image, colored it using Copic Markers and cut it out using the coordinating die.  Using foam tape, I added it to the right side of the card.  On the left side, I stamped my sentiment in black ink.  For the final touch, I added several tiny snowflakes from the NEW Santa Is Here Slim Line Die Cutting System Insert.   My next card is a fun little back-to-school scene that features two of the little cuties from the NEW Your Next Book Dear Stamp Set.  To create this card, I stamped out the NEW Medley of Fall Collage Stamp in red ink on orange paper.  Then I trimmed that into a square.  Across the bottom, I added a skinny piece of grey card stock.  On top of that some die cut grass.  Then I stamped out my images, colored them up with Copics, and cut them out using the coordinating dies.  I used foam tape to add them to my scene and stamped my sentiment just below.   Thank you so much for stopping by!  Happy Crafting! Beautiful Girl Sandra Summer Shaker

by Larisa Hohman on Jun 23 2021
Hello! Larisa here and today I'm sharing a very bright and festive shaker card.  This beauty features Beautiful Girl Sandra!  I've paired her with the NEW City Lights Sequin mix as well as the Wave Sun Stencil.  This card just screams SUMMER to me!   To create my card, I started with a piece of yellow card stock.  I stenciled my sun pattern onto it using my Life Changing Blender Brushes and some Orange Distress Oxide Ink.  Then I trimmed it to fit an A2 sized card and mounted it onto a piece of hot pink card stock.  I used my sewing machine to stitch on some tulle and filled it with sequins before stitching it closed  Then I stamped out my image, colored her up with Copics, and cut her out using the coordinating dies.  Using some foam tape and hot glue, I added her to the center of my card panel.  Then I added a stitched paper ribbon just under her and layered my "just because" sentiment on top.  I just love how this turned out.  It's sure to brighten someone's day!   Products Used:   More Fancy Sentiments More Fancy Sentiments Coordinating Dies Beautiful Girls Sandra Sandra Girl Coordinating Die Wave Sun Stencil Sequin Mix City of Lights   Gem Pick Up Tool Black Hybrid Ink Life Changing Blender Brushes

Two Eye-Catching Cards with Larisa

by Larisa Hohman on Mar 31 2021
Hello!  Larisa here and today, I'm sharing bold and bright cards that are sure to grab your attention.  Both feature products from the new release and both have vivid pops of color that catch your attention!   My first card features the NEW Mail's Here Stamp.  To begin, I stamped out the Raining Envelopes Stamp a couple of times.  This Building Backgrounds stamp is perfect because it lines up perfectly.  You can stamp it and infinite number of times to create any sized background!  I colored my background using a light teal Copic Marker (BG10).  Then I added a strip of red polka dot paper to the bottom and trimmed it to fit my card base.  I also layered the panel on some light grey card stock and trimmed to fit.  For the hello sentiment, I die cut it in bright blue card stock and blue foam.  I adhered the two layers together and added them to the card panel just above the polka dot paper.  I love the dimension this technique adds!  Then, I stamped out the Mail's Here image, colored it up to match, and cut it with the coordinating die.  After adhering that to the panel, I also added "my dear friend" sentiment just below it from the More Fancy Sentiments Stamp set.   For my next card, I decided to create a shaker card using the NEW Purple-Rita Sequin Mix.  I started with a piece of purple card stock and added some tulle to the top of it.  I stitched down the sides with my sewing machine and filled it with my sequins.  Then I used the Netting Cover Plate to cut a piece of white card stock and I adhered that to my card panel only in the center of the card where I knew the glue would be covered.  I stamped out the Lilies For Spring and Kylee Girl images, colored them up, and cut them out using the coordinating dies.  I layered them on top of my card panel using foam tape and a bit of hot glue to make sure they were stuck down well.  My sentiment from the Job Well Done Set finishes it off!   Products Used: Mail's Here Mail's Here Coordinating Die Raining Envelopes Kylee Girl Kylee Girl Coordinating Die Purple-Rita Sequin Mix Lillies For Spring Lilies For Spring Coordinating Die Job Well Done More Fancy Sentiments Clear Stamp More Fancy Sentiments Die Netting Cover Plate Die Slim Line Oversized Hello Word Die   Gem Pick Up Tool Black Hybrid Ink Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

A bride's Bouquet Slimline Shaker Card

by Sandi MacIver on Mar 26 2021
Hi friends, it's Sandi here from sandimaciver.com and today I have A Bride's Bouquet Slimline Shaker Card to share with you.I'm in love with slimline cards and a shaker card is an added bonus don't you think. Start with the background using the Slim Line Nested Rectangles Dies to die cut a slimline background. Next, cover the background with the Slimline Broken Fence stencil and secured it.  Add Paper Glaze randomly over the background in Peony Pink and Pink Carnation (they are truly stunning together), and blend them by pulling the pallet knife down the entire length of the background a couple of times. Then, set this piece aside to dry. By using the small and large of the Slim Line Nested Rectangles together, you create a white frame for your card with a pretty stitched edge.  I tape them together and die cut them both at once. Next, add a thin line of white glue around the back and attach a piece of acetate cut the same size. By adding a thin line of foam tape all around the back of this, you create the void in the center for the "shaker guts".....Picket Fence has a beautiful selection of sequins that are perfect guts, and I chose the Gin and Tonic Mix for today's card. Pile a heaping teaspoon into the center of the dry background and then attach the frame piece you just created, pressing firmly around the edges to ensure it's sealed. Next, attach it to a white card base.  This one is 7-1/2 x 9, scored and folded at 3-3/4. I used my Misti to stamp the floral image twice in Black Hybrid Ink before coloring it with my copics.  Then I cut them out and added them to both ends of my card. Finally, I die cut the sentiment in Gina K Dusty Rose and White cardstock and attached it to the center of my card. There you go....a pretty floral for spring, just change out the sentiment for whatever event you are celebrating. (and I'm sorry, it seems I used a retired sentiment die as I can't find it in the store so I've linked a couple the same size that would work). Hope you enjoyed my share today and below are the products I used.  Compensated affiliate links used, at no additional cost to you.

Hello!  Larisa here!  Today, I'm bringing you Beautiful Girl Madelyn with some retro vibes.  Picket Fence Studios has some of the most beautiful stamps out there!  I just love creating with the Beautiful Girls Line.   To create my card, I started with some patterned paper and trimmed it to fit the front of my card. Then I layered that on top of some lime green paper and adhered it to my card base.  Then I stamped out my image, colored her up with Copics and cut her out using the coordinating die.  I centered her on my card panel and added some die cut music notes around her.  Then I die cut and layered up the "hey you" word die in coordinating colors.  To give it some dimension, I layered it on top of some foam and then added it just below my image.  The "break a leg" sentiment from the NEW Ways To Express Yourself Set finishes it off.   , Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy Crafting! Hello crafty friends! Today I’m over Picket Fence Studios blog sharing these two Christmas cards. I’m featuring Baker’s Twine and HO HO HO Stamp set. Also Gin & Tonic and Moonshine Sequin Mixes. Let’s begin! For the first card I started by applying distress oxide inks with the Life Changing Blender Brushes to a panel. I used Aged Mahogany, Festive Berries and Abandoned Coral. Once my panel was dry, I trimmed down the edges and adhered a white folded note card at the back. Then, I stamped this large sentiment from Ho Ho Ho Stamp and I heat embossed it with WOW! Red Glitz Embossing Glitter. I repeated this step three times to get a bit more of dimension on my sentiment. Finally, I stamped the images from the Baker’s Twine Stamp and heat embossed them with WOW! Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. With a red gel pen I filled in the empty spaces of the twine and lastly, I added a few sequins from Gin & Tonic Sequin Mix. For the second card I also applied distress oxide inks with the Life Changing Blender Brushes to another panel. I used Black Soot, Lucky Clover and Cracked Pistachio. When my panel was dry, I trimmed down the edges and adhered a white folded note card at the back using glue. Next, I stamped the sentiment from Ho Ho Ho Stamp and I heat embossed it with WOW! Red Glitz Embossing Glitter. I repeated this step three times to get a bit more of dimension on my sentiment. Last, I stamped the images from the Baker’s Twine Stamp and heat embossed them with WOW! Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. I filled in the empty spaces of the twine with a red gel pen and finally, I added a few sequins from Gin & Tonic Sequin Mix and this card was finished. Thank you so much crafty friends for stopping by and I hope you like these cards and get some inspiration. Please have a wonderful rest of the week. Blessings, Karen

Etched Platinum, WOW! Bahama and WOW! Weathered Gold Embossing Powders. Let’s start! I placed this beautiful and intricate Fancy Flourish Stencil on top of a white A2 panel, applied WOW! Embossing Pad and then heat embossed it with Etched Platinum Embossing Powder. Then, I adhered a white notecard at the back using liquid glue. I die cut a white circle out of cardstock and glued it on my background. Additionally, I stamped two cups from Coffee Understand Stamp Set using LDRS Creative Hybrid Inks and die cut both using the coordinating die. I also, added the cups to my background. Finally, I die cut the Coffee Word Die and heat embossed it using WOW! Bahama Embossing Powder. I put this word die next to the cups. A strip with my sentiment was also placed below and I used Favorite Notification Stamp Set and WOW! Weathered Gold Embossing Powder to heat embossed it. This card is flat so it’s perfect for mailing. Christmas Shaker Card with Karen Reategui

by Karen Reategui on Jul 16 2020
Hello my crafty friends! Today I’m sharing this Christmas shaker card over Picket Fence Studios Blog. For this card, I have used new stamps from the July Release HO HO HO and Reindeer Stamps along with Gin & Tonic Sequin Mix. Let’s begin! I die cut this slim panel and applied inks to it using the Life Changing Blender Brushes. Next, with the help of my MISTI I stamped the Reindeer Stamp all across the slim panel using WOW! Embossing Pad and heat embossed it with WOW! Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. Then, I adhered a piece of cellophane wrap from a sheet of chipboard stickers. I cut the cellophane slightly bigger than my slim panel. Then, I folded every side of the cellophane and secured only three sides at the back of my panel using double sided tape. I added the Gin & Tonic sequins through the side that was still opened and then I closed it with more double sided tape. On a piece of acetate I stamped the HO HO HO Stamp Set using WOW! Embossing Pad and the heat embossed it with WOW! Metallic Silver Embossing Powder. I think this silver matched great the color of the sequins. I also, adhered this piece of acetate to the shaker. Finally, I added a white scalloped slim panel at the back and a red folded note card and my Christmas shaker card was ready! I hope you enjoyed this card and give it a try. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day! Karen

Happy Day with Karen Reátegui

by Karen Reategui on Jan 09 2020
Hello friends! Today I’m up at Picket Fence Studios Blog sharing this birthday card using 4 different colors of foils to use with the Picket Fence Studios Happy Day Foiled Impression and Cutting Die. Additionally, for the background I used Points of Interest Stencil and One Year Older Stamp for the sentiment.   Let’s start! I placed the Picket Fence Studios Points of Interest Stencil on top of a white panel and applied Distress Oxide inks using Life Changing Blender Brushes. I removed the stencil and let the panel dry. In the next picture you will see the inks used on this card.  Once the panel was dry, I trimmed down a little bit the edges and adhered a white card base at the back.  Next, using the Gemini Foilpress machine I foiled the Happy Day Foiled Impression Die 4 times with different colors of foil. Then, I die cut all the pieces using the coordinating dies. I stamped on my panel the Happy Birthday sentiment from Picket Fence Studios One Year Older Stamp Set using Hybrid Black ink and heat embossed it using WOW! Embossing Powder.  Finally, I added all die cuts on top of the background using foam double sided tape and a few sequins and this card was done.  Thank you so much for stopping by and have a marvelous day!!!
