Happy Friday, fellow crafters and card makers!! Brenda back with you today!! I fell head-over-heels for the sweet Big Piggie Hugs Stamp Set from the January release!! I adore these sweet pigs with their veggies!! I started like I do with most of my cards, by stamping the Big Piggie Hugs images and sentiment onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink and coloring them with Copic markers. I added some highlights with a white gel pen and used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. (Get the stamp & die in a bundle and save 10%!) For the background, I die-cut one of the panels in the Spring Gardening Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Front Pack with the third largest die in the Beyond Basics: A2 Rectangle & Cover Plate Dies Set. The white panel was cut with the second largest die in the same set and the largest die was used to cut the orange panel. They were stacked and adhered together, then added to a white cardbase using liquid glue. These Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts make creating a scene sooooo easy and I love the thin matted layers you get with the Beyond Basics: A2 Rectangle & Coverplate Dies Set!! The small veggies and the basket were adhered to the background with liquid glue and the piggie and sentiment were popped up with foam tape. I added a little shine to the eyes and nose of the pig with a black gel pen and this card was finished. That's it!! This card came together in a snap, but it looks like I put a lot of time into it!! Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a fabulous weekend and I'll see you next week with the NEW February release!! It's soooooo good!! Brenda

Basket of Fun: Combining Dies and Stamps to Create a Scene

by Andrea Shell on Jan 28 2025
Hi there! It's Andrea back to share a colorful Easter card featuring Picket Fence Studios' January release. I just adore those cute bunnies from the Follow that Bunny stamp set! I wanted to combine them with the new Scene Building: A Tisket a Tasket Basket Die and Easter Egg Swag Die for a fun scene. I colored the bunnies with Copics and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I diecut the basket from lavender and yellow cardstocks with the A Tisket a Tasket Basket Die. I trimmed thin strips of lavender cardstock and wove them through the slits of the basket, securing the ends with liquid adhesive. I added shading with Copics to create some dimension. I diecut the eggs from colored cardstock with the Easter Egg Swag Die. Using my scissors, I trimmed the bows from the eggs, backed them with colored cardstock and added shading with Copics. For my background I first diecut white cardstock with the Pinking Shear A2 Cover Plate Die. After masking the outside edges of the diecut, I ink-blended the grass and sky with dye inks and Life Changing Blender Brushes. To create the sun rays, I used the Sun with Rays 6x8 Stencil. After ink-blending, I flicked water across the grass portion and blotted it with a paper towel. Next, I covered the bottom half of the panel and added Opaque Pale Yellow, Opaque Pale Lavender, and Opaque White Paper Splatters to the top. Once the panel was dry, I removed the masks and adhered the background to one of the Lovely Gingham Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts. I arranged my Easter basket, eggs and colored images onto my card, adhering them with a combination of glue and varying heights of foam adhesive. For my focal sentiment, I diecut the Happy Easter Word Die from glitter and white cardstocks and stacked the diecuts on my card. I stamped a supporting sentiment from Follow that Bunny, cut it out with the coordinating die, and popped it up onto my card. Thanks for stopping by! I had so much fun creating this card, and I hope it inspires you to combine dies and stamps to create little scenes on your projects, as well! *Affiliate links used at no cost to you.

I had so much fun creating with this kit! With so many adorable critters to choose from, I made a variety of cards to show off their versatility. Some designs feature only the kit contents, while others mix in a few of my favorite PFS products for even more creative possibilities. There’s something here for every occasion—and I can’t wait to share them all with you! Word Die Panel Shaker Technique If you’re after quick and simple card designs, these two are a great starting point. I’ve used the same layout for both, featuring the stencil, and word dies from the same die set as the crtitters. One card is an easy shaker design, and for the other, I’ve added a sentiment and one of the adorable critters—a raccoon, in this case. Both cards are perfect for little boys, men, or anyone who appreciates a clean and fun design. With just a few small changes, you can create something unique without a lot of fuss. Products Used: Kit Option 1 A2 Pinking Shear Cover Plate Die Swanky Sentiments Birthday Swanky Sentiments Birthday Dies Hugs For You Using the Hugs for You die set, I created another two ombre cards. I'm really getting back onto cardmaking and have enjoyed using so many elements from the kit - and adding in a few from my stash.  The first card is a simple A2 card using the Paper Splatter, and Hugs For You Die set from the Kit. I've added in the Vintage Rectangles, and Opaque White Paper Splatter to finish the look.  The second card uses the same dies and Paper Splatter, but added in the stencil from the kit. In addition, I've used the die from Vinateg Opaque White Paper Splatter and Twinkle Lights Clear Paper Glaze. I adore this sweet 5"x 5" card, and love how the clear paper glaze looks on white card.  Products Used:  Kit Option 1 Paper Glaze Luxe - Twinkle Lights Clear Vintage Heart Vintage Heart Die Opaque White Paper Splatter 8"x 8" Paper Inking Palette You're Friendship Matters to Me This card features the large tree trunk design from the kit. I've used soft Copic colours for this sweet pink tree.  I’ve paired it with the Friendship Matters Sentiment set - which is included in Option 2, and makes a lovely addition. The mix of pink tones, bunniws and woodland vibes makes me happy.  Hopping into Friendship  For these cards, I mixed in a few extra products, including a cover die from the A2 Rectangles set. The fun heart pattern cover plate die adds the perfect backdrop for those adorable bunnies! I loved the design so much that I made a second version—this time with a pink panel instead of white. A simple tweak, but it completely changes the look! Products Used:  Kit Option 2  A2 Rectangle and Cover Plate Dies Hello There, Blue! This kit wouldn't be complete without this adorable bear!  This fun card takes on cool tones with Copics adding depth to the tree trunk and flocking papers bringing the critters to life. Featuring a bear and raccoon, it’s another great option for boys or anyone who loves woodland animals. Products Used: Kit Option 1 Swanky Sentiments Salutations Swanky Sentiments Salutations Dies Happy Birthday, Deer How cute are these deer?! You can use them with or without antlers and both are equally adorable.  I've used the stencil again from the Kit, but added in the Happy Birthday from  Products Used: Kit 1 Option Swanky Sentiments Birthday Swanky Sentiments Birthday Dies Vintage Hugs For You I wanted to use this stamp and die alongside the kit but waited to make this my last card.  The vintage wood goes perfect with this kit! And if you look closely, you will see that I mixed in some of the Linen Paper Splatter (included in kit) with the clear twinkle lights and it's just divine! The Lemon Lime, and Kraft card are also included in the kit, and everything ties together so well.   Products Used:  Kit Option 1 Paper Glaze Luxe - Twinkle Lights Clear Vintage Heart Vintage Heart Die 8"x 8" Paper Inking Palette We, that's a whole lot of cards using this kit! Although I've added in a few additional products, I've tried to keep it to a minimum, and also use them more than once.  There were so many more design ideas in my head but I ran out of time - haha!  Purchase the Kit  OPTION 1 OPTION 2 Thank you for taking the time to visit this blog post today and if you managed to get through it all, well done! haha. I do write big posts with multiple cards, but this is much larger than usual - so thank you.  Shop everything in the Picket Fence Studios shop by clicking here. I'll be back soon,  taJen

Dog Kisses Fix Everything

by Andrea Shell on Dec 30 2024
Hi, friends! It's Andrea here with my last blog post of 2024. Didn't this year fly by?!! Have you guessed by now how much I adore the new Happy Paws stamp by Picket Fence Studios' newest illustrator? The images pair perfectly with the sentiments from the new Dogs/Cats Always Know Good People set, which were the inspiration for this card. I stamped those sweet pups from Happy Paws with black ink and colored them with Copics. I fussy-cut them (There are matching dies, but I didn't have them at the time I made this card.) and added some details with a white gel pen. To create the kissing booth, I diecut white cardstock with the Booth Dies. I colored the pieces with Copics and stamped "kissing booth" with the Booth Labels stamp set before assembling everything with liquid adhesive. To fill out my scene, I also diecut two grass pieces with the Grass Tufts Dies and colored them with Copics. For my background I blended blue and green inks onto a panel of white cardstock with the Life Changing Blender Brushes. I diecut the panel with the Beyond Basics: A2 Stamp Cover Plate with Postmark Dies and trimmed a panel of blue cardstock to size. I adhered the blue panel to a white card and attached the ink-blended panel with foam tape. After attaching the booth to my card with foam, I tucked in the grass tufts and popped up the pups with thin 3D foam squares. I stamped the sentiment from Dogs/Cats Always Know Good People in black ink and diecut it with the 1.5" Connected Circles Shaker Dies. I cut coral cardstock with the circle die from the Beyond Basics: A2 Stamp Cover Plate with Postmark Dies and adhered the sentiment on top with thin 3D foam squares. I popped up the stacked circle with foam, and my card was done. Thanks for stopping by! *Affiliate links used at no cost to you.
