Cats Are Family with Erica

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Jun 08 2021
Hi guys!  It's Erica back on the Picket Fence blog with a card I made with the darling Cats Are Family stamp and whilst I didn't use it, it has a coordinating die set. It's purr-fect, if you ask me.  I stamped up the biggest image in the set with Black Hybrid Ink on Copic friendly ink, on Neenah card stock.  Naturally I went with a rainbow theme for the books the cat is perched on. I mean, duh, right? LOL.  The cat was coloured grey as I have a stray cat living with me, who's grey and I call him Carlos The Cat. He's very cheeky and likes to perch on top of our gate post, taunting The Cheeky Chicas (my dogs)  The final thing I added was a shadow from the books and the cat, as we live in sunny Spain and I love sunshine. Oh, and the sentiment in the top right corner was stamped with Black Hybrid ink. I almost added sequins, because cats love bling and round things, right? But I managed to resist!  That's it from me for today but thanks for stopping by! If you would like a colouring tutorial for this, let me know in the comments and I will start working on it.  Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica

Finds A Good Friend

by Sara Sherlock on May 04 2021
Hello!  It's Sara, from Much Love, Sara.  Today's card features the adorable Cats are Family Stamp Set, along with a scene background created with stencils.  This card began by adhering the English Brick Wall Stencil to a white panel of card stock.  Using a Life Changing Blender Brush, I blended Crackling Campfire Distress Oxide Ink through the stencil.  Then, using a smaller brush, I added a bit of Pumice Stone Distress Oxide Ink to areas.  I used Painter's tape, to reveal a small "strip" of card stock above the stencil, and blended Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Inks to form the top of the wall.  Once I removed the stencil, I added a little Hickory Smoke Ink to the revealed grout lines to add some shading.   I taped off the inked portion, and used the Slim Line Cloud Coverage Stencil, to create the clouds on the top of the card front.  I blended Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink on with a Life Changing Blender Brush, and rotated the stencil on each level to change the pattern.   On white card stock, I stamped two of the cat images from the Cats are Family Stamp Set, using Black Hybrid Ink.  I also stamped the sentiment onto the inked panel, with the same ink.  Using Prismacolor Pencils, I colored in the cat images, and added some detail to the brick wall created earlier.  Then, I used the Cats Are Family Coordinating Dies to cut the cat images out.  The cat images were adhered to the card front using foam tape, and then the card front was attached to a white card base made from heavyweight white card stock.   I hope you enjoyed today's card.  Find more cards using products from the April Release over on my blog.  Have a fantastic Tuesday!  Much Love,                                                  Sara
