A Magical Lot by Laura

Hello everyone! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this Halloween card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "A Magical Lot Stamps” which I stamped with the “Black Hybrid ink pad” and then painted with alcohol markers. Then to give the stamps more relief, I used the white Gelly Roll in the areas where I wanted to give shine and the black Micron Pigma in the areas where I wanted to give more depth. Below I used the “A Magical Lot Coordinating dies” to cut them out, but you can also carefully cut them out with scissors. For the background I used the “A2 Ghost House Cover Plate Die” that I cut in black cardboard and then I prepared a sunset with distress oxide inks in very typical Halloween colors. And for the sentiment I used a phrase from the “A Magical Lot Stamps” that i stamped with the “Black Hybrid ink pad”. Finally I prepared the composition, glued all the pieces and this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store. A huge kiss and until next time!

New Release - Haunted Ghost House

by Sammi Offield on Jul 25 2023

Hey crafty friends!! Sammi here to share a card featuring the A2 Ghost House from the new release! The new release is so AWESOME! It is such an amazing and huge release - definitely something for everyone!  For this card, the first thing I wanted to do was to create my spooky sky. Using the moon mask from the new Mini Haunted Moon stencil, I masked where I wanted the moon to be and then ink blended the sky using Distress Oxide inks. After I was done, I removed the mask and then stenciled in the rest of the moon using the rest of the moon stencil set. I then created the bats with some Black Pansy Paper Glaze along with the Bat Crazy 6x8 stencil. While the Paper Glaze was drying, I then cut out the Ghost House with black card stock and then glued some yellow card stock in the window openings and where the light from the windows shines on the ground. I then cut another Ghose House out of black glitter card stock and glued it on top of the black piece, adding some white pigment ink to create a shadowy look. I then glued the house onto the card panel. I then added the sentiment from the People are my Favorite, Mummy stamp and die set and then glued the card panel onto a A2 card base.  I absolutely love this set! So many possibilities and so easy to work with! Here is what you need from the new release to make this card: Bat Crazy 6x8 Stencil – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) Mini Haunted Blending Stencil – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) A2 Ghost House Cover Plate Die – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) People are my Favorite, Mummy – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) People are my Favorite, Mummy Coordinating Die – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! Happy Stamping! -Sammi

June New Release Day! - Espresso Bar Table Dies

by Sammi Offield on Jun 14 2023
Happy New Release Day crafty friends! Sammi here to share a card made with the AMAZING new Scene Building: Espresso Bar Table Dies! I absolutely love this die set! I love the retro feel of the colors red and teal, so I went with that color scheme for my scene and I LOVE it! Here is how I made this card: First, I wanted a wood grained background for my wood wall, so I used the A2 Against the Grain Cover Plate die and then ink blended it with Distress inks. I edged the corners and edges with darker Distress inks to make it looked a little more aged. I then cut out the pieces in the Espresso Bar Table dies - I cut out the table, espresso machine, flower/vase, row of cups, 3 individual cups, and then the bread, donut, bananas, oranges, apple and pear. I then cut out the tier basket out of silver metallic cardstock. I then colored the smaller pieces with Copic markers and edged the espresso machine with Distress inks to make it look vintage. I then ink blended the table with Distress inks and ink edged it too. After that, I placed the table onto the card panel with some foam tape. I then started adding the espresso machine, flower/vase and cups using glue and foam tape. I then glued the fruit and breads into the tier basket and then added it to the table with glue and foam tape.  I then decided I wanted to make a poster for the wall from the new Our Finest Selection background stamp so I picked out a image from the background stamp and then cut it down to a square and matted it with some teal cardstock. I then glued it onto the background wall.  I then stamped the sentiment from the new Espresso Yourself stamp set with teal ink and then cut it down to size and added it to the card panel with foam tape and then added some bling from the All About the Teals Sequin Mix. After the card panel was complete, I glued it onto a A2 card base. Here is what you need to make this card: https://pfstamps.com/products/espresso-yourself https://pfstamps.com/products/scene-building-espresso-bar-table-dies https://pfstamps.com/products/our-finest-selection A2 Against the Grain Cover Plate Die – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) Sequin Mix - All about the Teals – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) Thank you for stopping by and HAPPY SHOPPING!!

Hello everyone! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "Fanciful Feather die" that I cut out of gold cardstock. Then I cut a white cardboard for one of the feathers and painted it with distress oxide inks in blue and green tones. For the background I also used the same tones, first I painted the cardboard and then I used darker colors with the "Tree bark 6x6" stencil. I did it diagonally to give the card some movement.  Finally I placed a gold strip to separate the two sides of the card. For the sentiment I used the word "Celebrate" that comes on the "A2 Full Front Shaker" die set. Finally I prepared the composition, glued all the pieces and this is how the result was! Happy birthday by Laura

by Laura Nistal on Mar 15 2023
Hello everyone! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this card that I hope will inspire you!  To begin I cut several cardboard in a rectangular shape, with which I am going to create the gifts. I used different cardboard in pink, fuchsia and craft color to later combine them. I also cut some thin strips to make the gift ribbon. I then used the "A Bow for any reason die" to cut the bows on all the packages. I also used the "A2 Pierced Blanket Cover Plate Die", the "Slimline Trapezoid Spiral Stencil" and the "A Whole Lot Of Polka Dots Stencil" to give texture to some gifts. Then I combined the different colors to make them contrast. For the sentiment I used the word "Happy birthday" that I cut out of pink cardstock. This word comes with the "A2 Full Front Shaker Die". To decorate I added some "Gems mixes fire" to give the card a little more contrast. Finally I prepared the composition, glued all the pieces and this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store. A huge kiss and until next time! Laura

by Brenda Noelke on Dec 07 2022

Hello, Picket Fence friends!! Welcome back to the Countdown to Christmas!! Brenda here with a festive, frosty scene card to share with you today featuring the Jolly Christmas Gnome Stamp Set. I began by stamping the amazing Jolly Christmas Gnome Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored him with Copic markers, then used the Coordinating Die to cut him out. For the background, I die-cut the Slimline Rectangle Tree Cover Plate Die from dark brown cardstock. I trimmed a panel of white cardstock for the snow, added some shading with Copics, then adhered it to an A2 panel of light blue cardstock. The tree was adhered to the background and the excess was trimmed from the edges. I added some Winter Snowfall Paper Glaze Velvet with a paintbrush and sprinkled on some clear glitter while it was still wet. I splattered some diluted white gouache onto the background for the snowfall in my winter scene. The sentiment is also from the Jolly Christmas Gnome Stamp Set. It was white heat embossed onto black cardstock, then cut out with the Coordinating Die. The gnome and sentiment were both popped up with foam adhesive. I added some snow to the gnome with a white gel pen and my scene was finished!!   This Jolly Christmas Gnome has sooooo much character!! I just LOVE him!! Thanks so much for dropping in today!! Have a wonderful Wednesday and be sure to check back each day for more inspiration during the Christmas Countdown!!

Santa Scene Card

by Brenda Noelke on Oct 13 2022
Hello, Picket Fence friends!! I hope this finds you all well!! I love sending funny Christmas cards to friends who have a good sense of humor!! When I saw the Name Off the Good List Stamp Set, I knew immediately who I would send it to!! I LOVE when that happens!! Let’s get to my card!! I began by stamping the Santa and sentiment from Name Off the Good List onto white cardstock with black hybrid ink. I colored Santa with Copic markers, then cut it and the sentiment out with the Coordinating Dies. For the background, I die-cut the A2 Evergreens On a Hill Cover Plate Die from heavyweight white cardstock. I mixed Winter Snowfall Paper Glaze with a bit of Sparkle Paper Glitz and spread it onto the bottom of the panel with a palette knife. I added some Leaf Green Paper Glaze to the trees with my finger, to create some texture. Once that was dry, I adhered it to an A2 size panel of dark blue cardstock, then a white card base. I diluted some Winter Snowfall Paper Glaze and splattered it onto the background with a paint brush. That dried pretty quickly, then I adhered Santa and the sentiment with foam tape. The snowflakes are from the Letters to Santa Mix and were the perfect finishing touch for my scene!! I love how this turned out!! How about you…do you like humorous or traditional cards for Christmas? I like to tailor them to the recipient and, like I said, I have the perfect person in mind for this one! Thank you so much for spending a bit of your day with me!! Tomorrow is the 14th and you know what that means…it’s RELEASE DAY!! YAY!! Have a great Thursday!! Brenda

Clean and Simple five-minute cards

Happy Friday! Eugy here, today I’m sharing some Clean and Simple card ideas using the Fancy Life Events Sentiments stamp set (it has coordinating dies!) and other gorgeous products from the July release. All of my cards were super easy to make! But first, just a little reminder that we have a Flash Sale on site (exclude the July release). I made my first card using heart stamp from Ink Swatching stamp set. I was so excited to try this new stamp and I found it’s super fun and easy to use - I already created swatches for all my “inks for stamping”! After I stamped my background, I added a sentiment and some glitter cardstock. Voila, my card is ready! To get beautifully blended two-tone gradient impressions, I used Life Changing Blender Brushes to blend ink before stamping. And the best thing about Fancy Life Events Sentiments stamp set is that it has coordinating dies! For my second card, I prepared the card base by coloring it using ink pad technique. After that, I simply diecutted a white card panel with new gorgeous Opulent Negative Strip Die and mounted it on my pre-colored card base using 3d foam squares. The sentiment stamped in black ink seemed too bright to me, and I muted it with some pearl embossing powder. For my last card, I wanted something not usual, maybe some dry embossing effect. So I embossed white A2 panel with new Opulent Negative Strip Die (I use a standard sandwich for Cuttlebug), added colorful sentiment and some crystals for an extra sparkle. As you can see, all those cards can be done in five minutes! Go check out the entire July release or Flash Sale! Happy crafting and have a great weekend! Eugy

More leaves Card by Laura

by Laura Nistal on Jul 27 2022
Hello everyone!! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this fall card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "More Maple Leaves", "More Oak Leaves" and "More Ash Leaves" dies that i cut on gold and black cardboard. Next I prepared the background: for this I cut the outside of the leaf dies and used them as a stencil. Then I randomly placed them in the background and painted them with Distress Oxide inks in earth tones. Then I was pasting the leaves on top, but with a little offset to give it a different touch. For the sentiment i cut the "Good day to you word" die on gold cardboard and placed it in the center of the card. And this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store.  A huge kiss and until next time! Laura
