Lovely Lace and Florals

by Bobbi Lemanski on Feb 05 2025
Hi friends! As we get closer to Valentine's day, I thought pink lace and springy florals just seemed right to share. This 5" X 7" card is sweet, feminine, and lovely all in one. I'm using the following Picket Fence Studios products: Layers of Embroidery stamp Joyful Easter stamp set Joyful Easter dies Swanky Sentiments: Salutations stamp set Sequin Mix Plus - Blissful Beauties To create this card, I stamped the Layers of Embroidery stamp design on pink cardstock using a fuchsia pink ink. I hand cut the bottom layer to accentuate the scallop design. I attached the background to a white card base. I left enough white space at the bottom to stamp "a little birthday note" sentiment in black from the Swanky Sentiments: Salutations stamp set. I also added a striped pink and white ribbon two scallops up from the bottom.  I stamped the beautiful floral bouquet illustrated by the very talented Kelly Taylor for Picket Fence Studios, in black on white cardstock. Using my Copic Sketch Markers, I colored in the florals in bright, spring colors, making sure to color the lilies like Stargazer lilies or rubrum lilies. The tulips are done in reds and yellows and added some lilac colors, too. I die cut the florals using the Joyful Easter dies and attached the bouquet, positioning it over the ribbon, using foam tabs to make it stand out a bit from the background. Lastly, I added some dainty pearls in pinks and rose from the Sequin Mix Plus - Blissful Beauties. You can shop the entire Picket Fence Studios new release here. Happy Birthday and Many More!

by Brenda Noelke on Jul 02 2024
Hello, crafty friends and happy Tuesday!! I hope your week has started off well!! Brenda here with a colorful birthday card featuring goodies from the latest June Release!! I'm always in need of birthday cards and this one's great because it will work for any age, male or female!! I began by stamping the Birthday Dance Confetti Stamp onto white cardstock with dye inks in shades of blue and green. It was die-cut with the smallest die in the A2 Layering Rectangle Die Set. The "happy" die from the Happy Birthday Word Die Set was die-cut from the center of the panel. It was adhered to a panel of Birthday Bash Fabulous Foiling Toner Card Stock that was cut out with the largest die in the A2 Layering Rectangles Die Set. The "birthday" script was also from the Happy Birthday Word Die Set. It was die-cut once from black glitter cardstock and three times from heavyweight white cardstock, then stacked and adhered together and adhered across the center of the card. The rest of the sentiment, from the Swanky Sentiments: Birthday Stamp Set, was white heat embossed onto black cardstock, cut out with the Coordinating Die and popped up with foam tape. A sprinkling of Razzle Dazzle Sequins finishes off the card. That'll do it for me today!! Thanks so much for hanging out with me!!  Brenda

Blow out the candles interactive card

by Silvana Chambon on Jul 01 2024
Hello and welcome to the Picket Fence Studios blog! It´s Silvana here from Casa Magnolia and today I want to share with you a fun and interactive card made with some of the new products from the June release.  This card has a little story behind: this year I'm turning 40, and I have a group of childhood friends who will also turn 40, so I found myself needing to start creating several cards to have. This is a special age milestone and I thought It could be fun to make special cards for this.  Let´s talk about the card! It has a birthday gift box on the front but behind are the candles hidden. On the top you can see a tab that when you pull it, you´ll reveal the candles.  For the background I cut a light pink color cardstock in an A2 size panel and used the Sprinkles 6x8 Layering Stencil set changing colors in each layer. The present box is from the lovely Surprise! It´s your day stamp set designed by Kelly Taylor. I stamped it over the background to have it as a guide, and I stamped it again over a piece of paper, colored it and cut it in two: the inside and back of the card and the front. I glued the back piece over the stamped box on the background and cut a slit where the pull mechanism will be.  The 40 candles are from the new set Blow out the candles which has a coordinating die too. I stamped with embossing ink and put gold embossing powder over and set it. With some acetate I made the piece that holds the candles and glued them with some double sided tape. The front of the box was poped up with foam tape giving the candles room to slide under.  I put the pull tab under the background and put some foam tape all over the background (not over the tab´s space) and glued it onto an A2 card base.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set and also was made with the embossing technique.  To finish it up, I added some sequins from the Iridiscent Moonshine Sequin Mix. And that´s it! You can visit my Instagram post to see the card in action, if you like. I know there are some good tutorials on Youtube to make this kind of cards, so you can find some of them there.  I hope you liked this card and it inspires you to make one for a special ocassion. Have a fantastic week and happy crafting! See you on my next blog post.  Silvana.

Happy 12th Birthday

by Brenda Noelke on Jun 17 2024
Hello, fellow crafters!! Brenda here with you today!! I hope you had a great weekend!! I'm sharing a card today featuring a few goodies from the new June release combined with several older products!! My niece will be 12 in December and she loves purple, so this will be prefect for her!! I started by stamping the cupcake from the Sweet Holiday Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored it with Copic markers, added dots to the stamen with a white gel pen, then cut it out with the Coordinating Die. I also stamped the "12" candles from the Blow Out the Candles Stamp Set onto white cardstock with purple die ink and cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. For the background, I stenciled the Sprinkles 6x8 Layering Stencils onto white cardstock using dye inks and blender brushes, then die-cut it with the middle sized arched die in the Basic Die-cutting Die Set 1. I die-cut a frame from pink cardstock using the smallest and middle dies from the same die set. The sprinkled panel and frame were adhered to a card front from the Birthday Bash Fabulous Foiling A2 Card Fronts pack. The cupcake and candles were adhered with liquid glue. For the sentiment, I die-cut "birthday" three times from white cardstock and once from black cardstock using the Happy Birthday Word Die Set. I used a Pint-size Paper Pouncer to pounce one of the white layers with purple dye ink. All of the layers were adhered together with liquid glue, slightly offsetting the black layer, then adhered across the cupcake liner. "Happy" is also from the Sweet Holiday Stamp Set. It was stamped onto white cardstock with purple ink and cut out with the Coordinating Die. Another layer was die-cut from black ink. They were adhered together with the black layer offset and popped up with black foam tape. Sound Waves Gems were adhered to the top of the candles and around the sentiment to finish off the card. Thanks so much for spending a bit of your Monday with me!! Have a great week!! Brenda

A Birthday Cupcake Just for You!

by Colleen Balija on Feb 06 2024
Hi friends! It's Colleen again and I'm sharing another birthday card using the new Wreath Building: Cupcakes for You stamp and Wreath Building: Centers and Foliage stamp. I'm also using the existing Layering Flora Happy Fern die and Tangerine and Sunlight Yellow flatback pearls!  These sets are made to create beautiful wreathes, but I wanted to combine the Wreath Building cupcake stamp and Centers & Foliage stamp into one card. So, I decided to stamp the wreaths and place the cupcakes inside of each, building a lovely background!  First, I stamped the solid circles from the Wreath Building: Centers and Foliage stamp in a dark shade of brown ink. Next, I stamped the tiny dots stamp from the set in a shade of yellow, deliberately offsetting the stamp for a playful effect! It's subtle, but those little details take your card to the next level! When I finished creating a background with the circles, I stamped a few of the mini cupcakes in the center of each circle. Then I stamped a few of the teeny tiny pieces of fruit (so adorable) from the cupcake stamp set to fill in the extra space between. I also stamped one of the leaves from the Centers and Foliage set (this set can be made into a lovely wreath as well!).  Once the stamping was complete, I colored the cupcakes and fruit. Then I trimmed the panel, setting the outer part of the panel aside, and placed the center panel over a slightly larger dark brown panel. Then I adhered both over the outer part of the panel to create a fun effect that adds interest to a one-layer card!   The remaining step was to add the sentiment, which was stamped in dark brown ink from the Cupcakes for You stamp, surrounded by the wreath stamped in yellow. I die cut the sentiment in a circle and placed it over the white Layering Flora leaf. The leaf helped the sentiment not get lost in that busy background. I finished with shimmer and glossy accents on the cupcakes as well as pearl sequins!  I love how organic the card looks! Thanks so much for joining me today! Birthday Dance Confetti Card

by Silvana Chambon on Jan 30 2024
Hello and welcome to the Picket Fence Studios blog! It´s Silvana here with another inspiration card. This time I´m showing you some of the new products from the latest release, specially the new Birthday Dance Confetti Stamp. It´s a 6" x 6" seamless stamp from the Building backgrounds collection.  I started by stamping 6x6" stamp with Versamark ink and applying white embossing powder. After I heat embossed it I started to apply the different inks with the help of the Pint sized Paper Pouncers and the Paper Inking palette to hold the paper. I trimmed the background in a A2 size and cut the new Hooray Die from it. It´s a big die that fits perfectly in an A2 card.   To make the shadow effect I cut the Hooray die from 80 lb cardstock four times. Then I glued the background on a card base, glued every Hooray in the place, stacking them, and on top I glued the first Hooray from the background.  For the stamped sentiment I used one of the phrases in the The Bakery stamp set, stamped with Versamark ink and embossing powder too.   I hope you enjoyed this colorful card and I wish that the process were useful.  Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful week.  Silvana.

Sweet Birthday card featuring Wreath Building Cupcakes for You stamp

by Andrea Shell on Jan 22 2024
Hi there! It's Andrea here sharing my first project for Picket Fence Studios featuring products from their January release. This release has so many wonderful products for creating birthday cards, which I'm sure we as cardmakers need alot of! Those adorable cupcakes are from the Wreath Building Cupcakes for You stamp set. I stamped them with Black Hybrid Ink, starting with the middle cupcake first and then masking it to add the cupcakes on each side. Next, I colored the images with Copics and added highlights with a white gel pen. I stamped a sentiment from the set under my cupcakes and diecut the panel with the 2.0" Connected Squares Shaker Creator Dies. I cut the red, scalloped mat with the Slimline Stiched and Scalloped Rectangles and Alpha Die Cutting System and attached my stamped square on top with foam tape. For that colorful background, I used the new 6"x8" Sprinkles Layering Stencils. Looking at my card, I obviously had some of the stencils turned incorrectly as the set is designed to have perfectly spaced sprinkles with no overlap. However, you really can't go wrong with these stencils! To create my background, I placed an A2 panel of white cardstock onto the 5"x6" Paper Inking Palette and applied dye inks with the Bright Rainbow Pint-sized Paper Pouncers. For the fifth and final stencil, I used a palette knife to apply Chocolate Frosting Paper Glaze Luxe. I love the texture and bit of sparkle the glaze gives! Once the panel was dry, I adhered it to a white card and affixed my layered squares with foam tape. Thanks for stopping by! If you haven't already, be sure to check out the January release. There are bundles available at a great price! *Affiliate links used at no cost to you.

Another Rainbow for all Seasons by Laura

by Laura Nistal on Jul 11 2023
Hello everyone! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "Tweet Tweet Friends Stamps” which I stamped with the “Black Hybrid ink pad” and then painted with alcohol markers. Then to give the stamps more relief, I used the white Gelly Roll in the areas where I wanted to give shine and the black Micron Pigma in the areas where I wanted to give more depth. Below I used the “Tweet Tweet Friends Coordinating dies” to cut them out, but you can also carefully cut them out with scissors. Next I prepared the rainbow with the “Another Rainbow for All Seasons Die” that I cut in different colors. I also cut the clouds out of the "Slimline Curvy Rainbow Die” to support the rainbow. For the background I used the “Slimline Cloud Coverage Stencil” to simulate a sky and I painted it with distress inks. And for the sentiment I used a phrase from the “Tweet Tweet Friebds Stamps” that i stamped with the “Black Hybrid ink pad”. Finally I prepared the composition, glued all the pieces and this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store. A huge kiss and until next time!

Fanciful Feather by Laura

by Laura Nistal on Apr 05 2023
Hello everyone! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "Fanciful Feather die" that I cut out of gold cardstock. Then I cut a white cardboard for one of the feathers and painted it with distress oxide inks in blue and green tones. For the background I also used the same tones, first I painted the cardboard and then I used darker colors with the "Tree bark 6x6" stencil. I did it diagonally to give the card some movement.  Finally I placed a gold strip to separate the two sides of the card. For the sentiment I used the word "Celebrate" that comes on the "A2 Full Front Shaker" die set. Finally I prepared the composition, glued all the pieces and this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store. A huge kiss and until next time! Laura

On This Special Day card

by Evgeniya Ishbul’dina on Mar 17 2023
Hello there! It's Eugy here, and today I'm sharing this bright birthday card I made using the fun sentiment die set called "On This Special Day Word Die." I've been wanting to use this word die set for quite some time now to make a special card for someone's birthday, and I'm so excited to finally share how it turned out. I love how the large, blocky font of this die cut sentiment contrasts with the fun, whimsical patterns on the patterned paper I created for the card base. Here I paired the Tree Bark 6×8 Stencil and the Presents for All Seasons stamp. This was the first time I tried brand new tool: Paper Pouncers. The stencil and pouncers are versatile tools that can be used in many different ways to create a wide array of beautiful patterns and textures. I look forward to experimenting further with these products to achieve additional unique effects and backgrounds in the future. I accented the card with some gold foil cardstock for some fun texture and finished it off with a few gemstones from the Ghost House Gem Mix. Overall I'm really pleased with how this birthday card turned out. I hope it inspires you in your own crafting and card making adventures! Have a great weekend! Eugy

Happy birthday by Laura

by Laura Nistal on Mar 15 2023
Hello everyone! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this card that I hope will inspire you!  To begin I cut several cardboard in a rectangular shape, with which I am going to create the gifts. I used different cardboard in pink, fuchsia and craft color to later combine them. I also cut some thin strips to make the gift ribbon. I then used the "A Bow for any reason die" to cut the bows on all the packages. I also used the "A2 Pierced Blanket Cover Plate Die", the "Slimline Trapezoid Spiral Stencil" and the "A Whole Lot Of Polka Dots Stencil" to give texture to some gifts. Then I combined the different colors to make them contrast. For the sentiment I used the word "Happy birthday" that I cut out of pink cardstock. This word comes with the "A2 Full Front Shaker Die". To decorate I added some "Gems mixes fire" to give the card a little more contrast. Finally I prepared the composition, glued all the pieces and this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store. A huge kiss and until next time! Laura
