Christmas card by Laura

by Laura Nistal on Sep 28 2022
Hello everyone!! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this Christmas card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "Animal Crackers Christmas Wishes" Stamps set that I stamped with "Black Hybrid ink pad" which is perfect for this type of stamps! Then I painted all the images with alcohol markers and then with a white marker I glossed it to make it stand out.  Then i cut out the images using the "Animal Crackers Christmas Wishes" coordinating dies but you can carefully cut them out with scissors if you prefer. Next I prepared the background: for this I used a white cardboard that I painted with distress oxide inks and a green cardboard with which I used the "A2 Evergreen on a Hill Cover Plate Die" to which I then added the snow with the "Paper Glaze Luxe - Arctic Fox". For the sentiment I used the word "Greeting" that comes with the "A2 Evergreen on a Hill Cover Plate Die" that I cut out of blue metallic cardstock. Finally I prepared the composition, glued all the pieces and this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store. A huge kiss and until next time! Laura

Pastel Gourds

by Michelle Bala on Sep 26 2022
Hello there! It's pumpkin spice season!!! With that in mind, I created a card full of pumpkins. October is my favorite month and I pretty much love all fall related things...even in a non traditional fall palette. For this mini slim line, I used Lots of Gourds Seamless Stamp, Witch Crafts Stamp Set, More Oak leaves Dies, More Maple leaves Dies, and Mini Slim Line Stitched and Scalloped Rectangles Die .  I colored the pumpkins with Prisma Colored Pencils and added some paint splatter after the card was assembled. I finished the design with some scattered sequins, A Classic Christmas. Thanks for peeking! Michelle

Seasonal Christmas Flowers Poinsettia Cards

by Brenda Noelke on Sep 22 2022
Hello, crafty friends!! Brenda here with my first blog post as a member of the talented & amazing design team!! I’m super excited to be able to share some of my creations with Picket Fence products!! I’ve always been a huge fan!! I’ve really been enjoying creating with the latest September release!! One of the first sets that caught my eye was the stunning Seasonal Christmas Flowers Stamp Set!! The poinsettia is such an iconic holiday symbol and I couldn’t wait to color these!! I began by stamping all of the images in the Seasonal Christmas Flowers Stamp Set with Black Hybrid Ink. After coloring them with Copic markers, I cut them out with the Coordinating Die Set. I’ve always loved the contrast of black with bright red poinsettias, so I trimmed a panel of black cardstock to 4” x 5.25”. I adhered the leaves and holly with liquid glue and popped the poinsettias up with foam tape. I diluted some Snowdrop White Glaze with water and splattered it over the panel and poinsettias with a paint brush.   Once that was dry, I adhered it to a panel of white cardstock, then an A2 panel of red cardstock, before adhering it to my card base. The sentiments, from the Swanky Christmas Sentiment Set, were white heat embossed onto black cardstock, then cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I love these fonts!! They were also popped up with foam tape. For the finishing touches, I dotted some Golden Sparkle Paper Glitz onto the centers of the poinsettias with a stylus and added a combination of Dancing Reindeer & A Classic Christmas sequin mixes.   Thank you so much for spending a bit of your day with me!! Have a great Thursday and I’ll see you soon!! Brenda

*New* Mr. Frosty Comes to Town Kit

The limited edition Mr. Frosty Comes to Town Kit is available to purchase now! Nicole will be showcasing the kit tonight in the Picket Fence Studios Facebook Community at 6pm CDT so be sure to check it out.  I had so much fun creating projects from this kit which is filled with Christmas and winter goodness. This is the second kit from Picket Fence Studios and I know you are going to love it as much as I do. Everything I mention in bold is included in the kit. So let's get started!  First up is a slim line card. I stamped the snowman from the Snowone Else Like You stamp set onto Copic friendly cardstock, cut out with the matching die and colored with Copic markers. I used a die from the Slim Line Nested Rectangle Die Set to cut the Blue and Black Pearlescent Cardstock for the background then attached the image using a layer of craft foam. I painted on some Nordic Lights Paper Glaze Velvet onto plain white cardstock, then after the glaze dried, I cut out several snowflakes using the More Winter Snowflake Dies and applied a couple of layers of Sparkle Paper Glitz. The partial sentiment from the stamp set was stamped onto a strip of the White Pearlescent Cardstock using something borrowed ink. I cut a strip from the Cerulean Blue Cork Fabric, added a bit of Nordic Lights Paper Glaze Velvet on the ends, then cut some "fringe" using the piece as an additional scarf. It was attached and anchored with one of the snowflakes cut earlier. Another snowflake and a few the Snowflake Sequin/Clay Mix pieces provided the finishing touch.  For my second card, I painted on the Sparkle Paper Glitz onto plain white cardstock. Once dried, I cut out all five snowflakes from the More Winter Snowflake Dies then attached to the Blue Pearlescent Cardstock background panel. Aren't they pretty? The sentiment from the Snowone Else Like You stamp set was stamped using dove gray ink onto a strip cut from the White Pearlescent Cardstock, then attached with foam dimensionals.    For the third card I attached one of the Silver Snowflake Diecuts offset on the White Pearlescent Cardstock background panel. For the two layered snowflakes I used the largest die from the More Winter Snowflake Dies. To achieve the look I wanted I painted on the Nordic Lights Paper Glaze Velvet onto plain white cardstock, then cut out when dried and applied a couple of layers of Sparkle Paper Glitz. I then custom mixed the Nordic Lights and Sparkle Glitz and painted onto the plain white snowflake. The sentiment from the Snowone Else Like You stamp set was stamped directly onto the panel using dove gray ink A smattering of the Snowflake Sequin/Clay Mix pieces added even more sparkle.  My extremely talented fellow design team members will have so much more to show you using this fun kit.

Christmas Tree Farm Delivery Snow Globe Easel Card

by Heejung Hunsberger on Sep 16 2022
Hello! Crafty Friends, I'm passing by to share two easel Christmas card-making ideas using the Christmas Tree Delivery Snow Globe die from September new releases. I want to make a 3D-feeling snow globe using the  Christmas Tree Delivery Snow Globe die.  To be honest with you, the process of making cards was complicated and not easy for me. I die-cut the snow globe die at least three to five times to make thick layers.  It needed several layers because I had to put sequins in the snow globe to make room for movement.  I used thick white card stock for the globe. This is an A2 card size ( 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches) To make it, I first made the background pattern using the Winter Rings Stencil with the Paper Glaze Velvet - Winter Snowfall. Then, cut the patterned paper to 4 x 5 1/4 inches.  I die cut with a snow globe die in the middle of the patterned panel. Trace the snow globe shape on the card base and die-cut the snow globe as the trace marked. I die-cut the card base (paper size 11 x 4 1/4 inches) by placing a die on the snow globe shape shown. For the easel card stopper, I made a mini card in the card, so the mini card could be a stopper for the snow globe. The mini card size: is 4 x 4 inches  The Mini card Front: The Slim Line Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas Word Topper Die The Sentiment on the Glove: the For the Holidays Stamp set - Applied Gold Embossing Powder on the sentiment   I insert Sequin Mix - A Classic Christmas in the snow globe.   I think this card would a good Holiday deco.  That’s all for today.I hope you have enjoyed this post. Magical Christmas Shaker!

by Sasha Omoniala on Sep 15 2022
Hello Lovely Crafty Friends, I am Sasha and I am so very honoured to be bringing you this blog post. This is my first time on the blog so please bare with me. I am OBSESSED with shaker cards, honestly I can’t get enough of them!I am equally obsessed with the Picket Fence Studios sequin mixes so a card that features both is perfect! Make sure to check out the reel on the PFS Instagram to get a better idea of this   I like to call this type of shaker a floating edge shaker because it is fully transparent, let me know in the comments if you think it should be called something else.I started off by taking a DL plastic card/poly bag. The bag measures 10.5’ long x 4.5’ wide. I cut the card bag down to 6’ long, the width remains the same. I then cut a 6’ long x 4.5’ wide piece of acetate which will go inside the poly bag to add stability. TIP: if the acetate piece doesn’t fit inside the bag, just cut a sliver of it off. I splattered the acetate with white acrylic paint then I stuck down a few sequins from the gorgeous plum pudding mix. Whilst that dried, I took a 5’ x 7’ card base and used the A2 Evergreens on a Hill cover plate to cut the card base down to about 4’ long. I then cut out 4 other die cuts of this cover plate. I ink blended 2 of the die cuts with some Prize ribbon and Wilted Violet distress oxides to create some snowy To assemble the card, I put the acetate into the poly bag then added a bit of the plum pudding sequins before sealing it with double sided tape. I then stuck it down to the  inside of the back part of the card base. To cover the tape,  I stuck down one of the 4 cover plate panels over the taped area. To the front of the card I took a Santa’s Sleigh Ride snow globe die cut and cut it up so that the sleigh was separate from the houses. I stuck the houses down on the bottom part of the card, in front of the white trees then I propped up the ink blended panel on some foam tape and stuck that over I finished the card off with the ink blended greetings die cut on the front the snowy trees and the ink blended sleigh over the acetate. I think this is a fun way to create a shaker card. It’s so super light and not bulky at all but most importantly it is magical with all those beautiful sequins! There will be a reel over on the PFS Instagram showing another example of an edge shaker and a Full Video Tutorial on my YouTube channel LOVE BUIlDS UP CRAFTS on Friday. Hope to see you there!  Crafty hugs, Sasha x

Build a Halloween Scene Using a Christmas Stamp

by Theary Chea on Sep 12 2022
Hello dear friends! I hope that you're having a wonderful week. Today, I want to share some inspiration to stretch your crafting supplies. This might sound crazy, but I used a Christmas stamp to create a Halloween card for this project. Yup, you heard that correctly. It's so fun to find a different use for your holiday-themed stamps, and it makes it that much more worth it when you're able to stretch it to work with two separate holidays. This card used the masking technique heavily. If you know anything about me, I love to mask and color. Creating a one-layered card can be challenging, but using the masking method makes it that much easier. I used the Build a Gingerbread House stamp set to create a spooky house on my card front. Instead of using traditional Christmas colors, I opted for a darker palette to portray a creepy Halloween house. I used alcohol markers to color the scene as well as ink blending. To add to the scene, I used the Slim Line Welcome to the Graveyard Blending Stencil and the A2 Claudron of Bats stencil. These stencils are excellent because there are so many different elements that you can use to build a Halloween scene. To give some of the images more dimension and texture, I applied a layer of Paper Velvet onto the stencil using my Mix Media Spatula. I heat embossed onto black cardstock using white embossing powder, a sentiment from the Here For The Boo stamp set. And I added a black frame using the 5x7 Stitched Rectangle die. To finish off the card, I wanted to add some embellishments. The Scaredy Cat Sequin mix is perfect for the scene I was building. The mix includes little black cats that I adhered to the card front and added white details on it to create more interest. I hope you found some inspiration to mix and match the stamp sets that you already have to create something unexpected. Until next time!Have a wonderfully blessed day!Theary Chea

Simple card idea using texture pastes.

by Evgeniya Ishbul’dina on Sep 09 2022
Hello there! Eugy here, sharing this two CaS card ideas.  For my first card, I stamped out a round dance of tiny ghosts from the Here for all the Boos stamp set. Then I colored them and stamped a sentiment. A small strip of glitter cardstock along the edge added a light sparkle to the card. For my second card, I started with a simple masked stripe on the background and blended some green using the Life Changing Blender Brushes. After I stamped a sentiment, I added the dimension using the Slim Line Welcome To The Graveyard Blending Stencil and different pastes.     I really like to play with pastes, as you can see, they are all so gorgeous, with different effects and textures. From left to right: Paper Glaze - Black Pansy; Paper Glitz - Black Rainbow; Paper Glaze Velvet - Blackboard. Happy crafting and have a great weekend! Eugy

Halloween banner with dies!

by Silvana Chambon Scarenzio on Sep 08 2022
Hello! It´s Silvana here with another inspiration post.  Is it too early to start thinking about Halloween decor...? Never! The spooky season is around the corner and we need to be prepared. Last release inspired meto make a banner just with dies. Yes! The dies are the most versatile and durable product that we can purchase and we can stretch the use of them in creative ways.  For the banner base I used the A2 Haunted Lair Cover Plate die woth a hevy weight black cardstock.  The funny ghosts are the Three Ghastly friends die that are perfect for this! In the middle, I put the ghost over the A2 Spooky tree die just to make it more spooky.  The Happy Halloween word die was cut three times in different colors made with the incredibles Paper Glaze velvet in Bonfire, Split pea soup and Sea urchin colors.  I hope you enjoyed this idea and give it a try! See you soon with more inspiration.  Silvana.

Nancy here to share a Christmas card using products from the latest release.  After stamping the From Our Gang to Yours image onto Copic friendly cardstock, I cut out with the matching die and colored with Copic markers. The sentiment from the set was stamped using cherry kisses ink and also cut with its matching die. I cut out the background panel using a stitched edge die, then cut a circle from it and backed the space with patterned paper. The "snow" was cut out with a die from the Mountains Scene Building set, then stamped Winter Scenery Scene Building stamp using soft stone ink for a subtle look. I used my finger to randomly add streaks of Sparkle Paper Glitz. The image and sentiment were attached using a layer of craft foam.  There is a 10% discount If you purchase the whole set of Animal Crackers consisting of three stamps and three matching die sets.
