Hello everyone! Bonnie here from Bonniecarollee Makes Cards. I have a super cute Halloween card to share with you that features an eclipse technique and easy masking. This card uses several products from Picket Fence Studios’ August release; Friendly Jack-o-lanterns, Happy Halloween Word Die and A2 Cauldron of Bats Stencil.
I began by stamping Friendly Jack-o’-lanterns in an ombre of orange. The coordinating die was used to cut masking paper. The masking paper was cut into the five different images using a slightly curved line between the pumpkins. As each pumpkin was stamped, the one below it, above it or both, were masked. After all the pumpkins were stamped, the top pumpkin was masked off with a piece of Post-it Note Tape and green ink was stamped onto the stem. The entire stacked pumpkin image was then inked with Versamark and clear embossed. The faces were coloured in with a Y19 Copic marker.
A moon was masked before inking the panel using Life Changing Blender Brushes. Three shades of blue and lilac ink were applied to a panel of Bristol Smooth card stock. The mask was removed and small blender brushes from the Life Changing Blender Brush; Fine Bending set were used to create wispy clouds across the moon. Picket Fence Studios Black Hybrid Ink was applied to the A2 Cauldron of Bats Stencil.
The Happy Halloween Word Die was placed vertically on the right hand side of the panel. After the letters were die cut, the panel was mounted on black card stock measuring 8 3/8 “ x 3 3/8“ and then onto an 8 1/2” x 3 1/2” card base. The word die was also used to cut black foam and the letters were mounted on it before they were replaced on the panel. To finish up the card, the stack of pumpkins and black foam were cut with the coordinating die and mounted on the panel.
