Hugs from Afar Scenic Card

by Sara Sherlock on Apr 01 2022
Hello!  It's Sara, from Much Love, Sara.  I have a fun slim line card to share with you today.  This card features two ink blended backgrounds, with some of the adorable critters from The Best Hugs Ever Stamp Set.     I started by stamping the critters in Black Hybrid Ink, and quickly colored them in with my Polychromos pencils.  Then I die cut them out with the coordinating dies.  While my die cutting machine was out, I also die cut the Slim Line Hugs from Afar Word Topper Die from black card stock.  To change the layout of the die, I laid it on a strip of 8.5" card stock, with the words in the center, then left the left edge hanging off of the bottom plate, so the edge would not cut.  Then I could use my trimmer to cut the rest of the strip out.   I did not add a subtitle to this strip, however, wanted a small detail, so I stamped and white heat embossed the small hearts from the stamp set.       To create the backgrounds for my critters, I used the Water Coloring Scene Building Stencil, turned so the stencil was horizontal.  I used a small bit of painters tape to create the "hill".  Then I ink blended some Distress Oxide Inks, using my Life Changing Blender Brushes.  For the icy scene, I used Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot.   Before removing the stencil, I splattered water on the background.     To create the warmer savannah background, I used Peeled Paint, Spiced Marmalade, and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Inks.  I sprayed water onto a wadded up paper towel, and dabbed that over the sky area to create soft clouds.   Once the ink blended panel was dry, I assembled the card, and adhered it to a white card base.    I hope you enjoyed today's project.  Find more cards using products from the recent February Release over on my blog.  Have a fantastic Tuesday!  Much Love,                                                  Sara

Michelle Lupton here today - I'm sharing a card I made using the Gemini Girl stamp and coordinating die. I used the A2 rose lines stencil with Distress Oxide ink in the background, and then coloured the gemini girl image with copic markers, adding some gold gel pen highlights to her hair clips and earring. I finished with the gemini sentiment and I was done. Thanks for visiting :)

Love Ya!

by Lisa Tilson on Mar 23 2022
Hello there, Lisa here with you today to share a mini slim line card featuring the beautiful Slim Line Rose Lines stencil. This stencil is so pretty, very delicate and intricate. I couldn't wait to ink it up! I began by taking a panel of 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock and placing the stencil down over the top. I secured it from behind using low tack tape. Using Life Changing Blender Brushes, I blended Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Inks through the stencil. I used Seedless Preserves at both ends, followed by Picked Raspberry at both ends. Worn Lipstick is the central colour. I always repeat the blending several times to make sure I get a good transition of colour between each ink. Next, I die cut the panel using one of the scalloped dies from Mini Slim Line Stitched and Scalloped Rectangles. Next I took the Love Ya word dies included in the same slim line die set and die cut them three times from 110lb Neenah Solar White cardstock. They were adhered together to form a small stack. I then adhered this stack onto my ink blended panel and this in turn was added onto a top folding horizontal base card. To finish the card I added some of the new Pink Bottlecap Flowers Sequins. It's a bit difficult to see them on the card but I have them arranged around the word die. I really love this stencil and it also comes in a 6 x 6 version so you have lots of options for creating different sized cards with them.  Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great week!

Hello there! Michelle here, sharing a quick CAS design using the stamp set Carnation Flower Garden, and it's Coordinating Die. I colored the flowers with Copic Markers in shades R22, R24, R59 (petals); G09, G29 (stems, leaves). Next, I die cut the sentiment word, Happy Birthday Word Topper Die, using black cardstock. I embossed the lower portion of the die with a sentiment from the stamp set, Word Die Topper Subtitles.  I adhered the the flowers and word topper die cuts with some Extra Wide Foam. That's all for today, pretty short and sweet! I hope you enjoy! Michelle

Beautiful You

by Claudia Cubas on Mar 18 2022
Hello all friends, I am with you today with a new inspiration, this time with a beautiful floral stamp. This rose is really gorgeous and I decided to do a no line coloring. I stamped the rose from the set Budding Roses  and colored with watercolors.  For the background I shaded a very light shade of brown and stamped some lettering from the set   Barberton Daisy  to create a vintage effect. I completed with sentiments stamped with white embossing on black cardstock and I decorated with the half pearls  Gradient Flatback Pearls Lime Green & Pale Pink  . Don’t forget about todays 7 in 7 live video, at 6 CST, in the PFS community group on Facebook !!! Claudia

Wishing for Butterfly Season

by Nancy Thomas on Mar 16 2022
Nancy here to share a card using some of the new products from the fabulous new April release. Winter is not letting go yet but I am trying to think of the flowers and butterflies in our future.     I used the new Flying Butterfly die which is an addition to the Slim Line Cutting System to create this clean and simple shaker card. I also used the Extra Wide Foam Roll which is so easy to use since it has double sided adhesive. I filled the shaker space with the also new Heart Breaker Sequin Plus Mix. There were a lot of fun new sequin sets in this release but I think this one might be my favorite. I added a small flower atop the butterfly which came from the new Carnation Flower Garden set as did the sentiment white embossed onto a black card strip. A tiny sequin atop the flower finished it up.   Don't forget the 7 in 7 Event tonight at 6pm CDT on the Picket Fence Studios Community Facebook page. Hope to see you there!

Mon Amie

by Lisa Tilson on Mar 04 2022
Hello there, Lisa here with you today to share a clean and simple card which could be used for an anniversary, or maybe just as a love/friendship card. To create the card I began by die cutting the arch and circle frame from the A2 Lattice Arch Cover Plate Die set from white cardstock. I set them to one side whilst I worked on the images. The two adorable bunnies are from Chloe's Garden and they, along with the two birds, were stamped onto Neenah 80lb white cardstock using Black Hybrid Ink. I coloured them with Copics and then die cut them with the coordinating dies.   I added tiny dabs of glue onto the back of the lattice die cuts and adhered them to a top folding notecard. The bunnies and birds were popped up with foam tape for extra interest. I thought it might be nice to add a white satin bow over the circular frame, so that natrually took about 3 hours to tie!! Kidding, but it did take a while!. For a little bit of sparkle I added Iridescent Moonshine sequins all around the arch - they look so pretty in real life! The sentiment is from BFF Favorite Hello and this was stamped onto grey cardstock using Black Hybrid Ink. It was trimmed down and added to the panel with foam tape.

Hop along with us on Instagram!

by Sara Sherlock on Mar 02 2022
We are so happy to be hopping today to showcase our Glass Craft Mats from our friends Glassboard Studio.  To celebrate this hop, we are giving one lucky Instagram commenter - along the hop - a free Glass Craft Mat ($130 Value, includes shipping. Due to shipping costs, winner must be able to provide Continental US shipping address). Glassboard Studio started out selling whiteboards, using glass instead of standard materials. It didn’t take long to realize that they were still super boring. The CEO, Bill, decided to find a way to print beautiful images on the back of these boards. Glass surfaces are perfect for crafting and mixed media art. They are quick and easy to clean, heat resistant, and do not stain. The glass craft mat features a grid for easy alignment in 1-inch and 1/4-inch increments, 1/8-inch tick marks along the border and center lines, and diagonal lines at 30, 45, and 60 degrees. An option to add metal backing to create a magnetic surface is an added bonus as rare earth magnets can hold paper, cardstock, stencils, fabric, and more in place. You can join in the hop, starting with our Instagram @picketfencestudios Entries for the giveaway will be accepted until 6 PM EST on March 8th on Instagram. Winner will be randomly selected, and will be announced on March 9th on the here on the blog and on our Instagram. This giveaway is not sponsored, or endorsed, by Instagram. For those who want to guarantee they get the craft mat of their choice, Glassboard Studio has generously provided a Discount Code for 20% across their website.  Use the code PFS20 at checkout for the discount.

Hippity Hoppity Slimline

by Michelle Bala on Feb 28 2022
Hello there! Michelle here, sharing a slimline Easter card using some beautiful stamps and dies from Picket Fence Studios newest release. I stamped Vintage Easter Hodgepodge -part of the Seamless Stamps collection- 3 times using the Misti, which takes the guess work out of aligning stamps for repetition. I chose to do a no line coloring technique and used a beige ink on kraft cardstock. I colored the eggs with Prisma Colored Pencils in pastel shades than added some paint splatter with white paint. Allow to dry. Next, I used Hoppin' Down the Bunny Trail and coordinating Die and followed the same no line coloring technique. I also used Hippity Hoppity to All Coordinating Die for the sentiment. I die cut the word with glitter cardstock and the shodow with white cardstock. I used the large slimline rectangle from Slim Line Die Cutting System and die cut the kraft cardstock panel. I die cut the scalloped panel using Slim Line Die Cutting System- Scallop Frames. I layered the panels, sentiment, and bunny ears onto the card base with Extra Wide Foam Adhesive Tape in white.I added some silver thread behind the sentiment and scattered some Sequin Mix- City of Lights.  That's all for me! Hope you enjoyed this post! Have a great week! Michelle

Eastertime

by Nancy Thomas on Feb 23 2022
Nancy here to share some Easter/Spring cards using the latest Picket Fence Studios release.     I stamped one of the cute images from the Eastertime set, one onto a die cut circle and the two small chicks using the Picket Fence Black Hybrid Ink Pad which were then cut out with the matching dies. All the images were colored with Copic Markers and the main image was then framed with a scalloped circle cut with the larger scallop frame from the Slim Line Scallop Frame Dies set. The chick diecuts were placed onto a small circle die cut which was framed with harvest gold cardstock cut with one of the Misshapen Stitched Circle Dies.  The shaker was created with a backing of pattered paper and several layers of cardstock cut with the smaller scallop frame from the Slim Line Scallop Frame Dies and filled with pieces from the Penny and Henny Sequins Plus Mix. I cut the card front border using the Ornate Negative Strip Die and backed with the green parakeet cardstock. I added a small strip at the top of the cut out to complete the border, then attached all the circle pieces.      For the second card, I stamped the bunny from the Hoppin' Down the Bunny Trail directly onto the card front using the the Black Hybrid Ink Pad and colored with Copic markers. I then masked the image in order to blend tumbled glass and broken china ink around it using the Life Changing Blender Brush Set. I also stamped the main image from the Hippity Hoppity to All stamp set and cut out with the matching die. After coloring with Copic markers, I cut it down to fit the A2 portrait card front. It was attached using a layer of craft foam. For the sentiment, I used the inlaid die cut technique using matted wortd die from the Hippity Hoppity to All Die set and then attached over the bunny ears with craft foam.  I hope you enjoy the rest of your week. Happy Crafting!

Misshapen Stitched Circle Rainbow

by Amanda Garrett on Feb 22 2022
Hi friends, Amanda here with you today sharing a fun way to use the Misshapen Stitched Circle Dies.    I also used some other fun dies to create this card. Can you believe there is no stamping on the cards!  I created this full Front Shaker Die using the Petals Shaker Sequin Mix Along with Rainbow Sequin Mix For the Rainbow I die cut each circle in rainbow order, then cut the circles in half then glued them down on navy blue cardstock, that I already added my white gouache splatters to. I added the clouds From Cloud Die to the ends of the Misshapen Stitched Circle to give it that up in the sky feel. I used Silver Bells Paper Glitz for the Taller Hello Word Topper Die and the added acetate and then put in the shaker sequin mix.   Don't just love a good Rainbow? I love seeing Rainbows after a good rain. Bring on SPRING!     For the second card I did the same thing to it, I just didn't make it into a shaker card. So easy and fun!       As you can see, I used the Fall Gold Paper Glitz for the Taller Hello word Topper Die, and the Misshapen Stitched Circles are not tilted to the side they are straight on.    Products used: Taller Hello Word Topper Die Misshapen Stitched Circle Die Cloud Die Fall Golds Paper Glitz Silver Bells Paper Glitz Rainbow Sequin Mix Petals Sequin Mix Well, that's all for me today! Thanks for stopping bye.
