Butterfly Slim Line Shaker

Hello, fellow crafters and happy Thursday!! I hope your week is going well!! I have a fun slim line shaker card to share with you today!! I LOVE butterflies!! They can be used for so many different occasions!! I began with my background panel, so it would have adequte time to dry (although it dries really quickly). I applied Snowdrop White Paper Glaze onto a panel of white cardstock through the Slim Line A Whole Lot of Polka Dots Stencil with a palette knife. While that was drying, I stamped the sentiment, from the Baby Butterfly Beauties Stamp Set, onto white cardstock with Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Ink. I stamped some butterflies from the same set with Shaded Lilac, Kitsch Flamingo and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Inks, then die-cut the sentiment and butterflies with the Coordinating Dies. I LOVE the sentiments in this stamp set...they are so uplifting and positive!! I also die-cut the second largest die in the Nesting Ring Die Set from pink cardstock.  Next, the stenciled background panel was die-cut with the smaller rectangle die in the Slim Line Die-Cutting System Set. The Monarch Butterfly Slim Line Die-Cutting System Insert was cut from the center of the panel. I adhered acetate behind the butterfly, then added foam tape to the back of the panel. A combination of All About the Pinks, All About the Yellows and All About the Purples sequin mixes were added for the shaker bits. I adhered a small piece of white cardstock behind the opening and then adhered the panel to a slimline panel of pink cardstock that was cut from the largest Slim Line Nested Rectangles Die. The Nesting Ring Die was adhered with liquid glue, while the sentiment and butterfly die-cuts were popped up with foam tape, for even more dimension. Whew!! I know that was a long one, but shaker cards are a little more involved and take more time to explain!! Thanks for hanging in there with me!! I appreciate you taking the time to stop by today!! Have a wonderful Thursday!! Brenda

Love Ya!

by Lisa Tilson on Mar 23 2022
Hello there, Lisa here with you today to share a mini slim line card featuring the beautiful Slim Line Rose Lines stencil. This stencil is so pretty, very delicate and intricate. I couldn't wait to ink it up! I began by taking a panel of 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock and placing the stencil down over the top. I secured it from behind using low tack tape. Using Life Changing Blender Brushes, I blended Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Inks through the stencil. I used Seedless Preserves at both ends, followed by Picked Raspberry at both ends. Worn Lipstick is the central colour. I always repeat the blending several times to make sure I get a good transition of colour between each ink. Next, I die cut the panel using one of the scalloped dies from Mini Slim Line Stitched and Scalloped Rectangles. Next I took the Love Ya word dies included in the same slim line die set and die cut them three times from 110lb Neenah Solar White cardstock. They were adhered together to form a small stack. I then adhered this stack onto my ink blended panel and this in turn was added onto a top folding horizontal base card. To finish the card I added some of the new Pink Bottlecap Flowers Sequins. It's a bit difficult to see them on the card but I have them arranged around the word die. I really love this stencil and it also comes in a 6 x 6 version so you have lots of options for creating different sized cards with them.  Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great week!

Party at the Pond

by Sandi MacIver on Jul 09 2021
Hey cardmaking friends, Sandi MacIver here and today I have P Party at the Pond to share with you created with the Drop by to say Croak stamp set. This is one of my Favorites from the June release and they are so fun to color. Creating the Slimline Card for A day at the Pond: Cut the card base from Hammermill white, 7 x -1/2, score and fold at 3-1/2. Die cut the card front using the Slim Line Nested Rectangles Dies. I love the fine stitched detail the die provides around the edge of the piece. (you need two of these). Next, use the circle die from the Scallop Frames Die set and cut three circles across the card front. Lay the circles piece over the second card front and lightly mark the outside of the circles with a pencil. Use the Life Changing Blending Brushes to add Mermaid Lagoon and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Inks where the circles will overlay.  This creates the sky and the pond for the card. Trim that back piece slightly before gluing them together. Creating the Pond Scene Die cut the Slim line short tall grass die in green for across the bottom front. Die cut the Cattails Die and watercolor. Cut the cat tails into 3 pieces and attach them to the card front, sliding the bottom section in behind the circles in front.  Allow the tops to stick outside the circles. Glue the grass down along the front bottom. Use the Misti stamping tool to stamp the frogs onto white card, color with copics and die cut them out. Use foam squares to attach them to the card front, one in each circle. White heat emboss the sentiment onto a scrap of black card and attach across the middle. Embellish with purple and green sequins P.S.  This cute card is sitting on a Green Slimline Envelope also from Picket Fence Studios Copics Used : Greens:  YG01, YG03, YG07, YG23, YG67 Purples:  V4, V5, V12 Blue:  BG13 Below you will find a list of products I used in today's card.  Affiliate links used where possible.   Thanks so much for stopping in, and hope you find time to create today
