I'll Always Pick You

by Lisa Tilson on May 04 2022
Hello there, today I have a card to share with you using a stencil that was released last month. I love a stencil, you can do so much with them and today I decided to play with some Paper Glaze. The stencil that I am using today is Momma And Baby Giraffes A2. It's a lovely stencil and because of it's subject, I thought I would use some colours that you might see in an African sunset. I started by taking the stencil and a piece of black cardstock and I taped the stencil from behind. Using a Mixed Media Spatula I applied all three colours from Paper Glaze Ombre Pumpkin Spices through it. I tried them on a separate panel with a more random spread of colour but I preferred the tiered look that I got on this card panel that you see today. So, I applied the gold at the top, followed by the brown and then the beautiful red at the bottom. I removed the stencil, cleaned it and the spatula and set the panel aside to dry. Once it was dry, I trimmed it down and added it to a black top folding A2 card base using black Extra Wide Foam Tape. The sentiment is from I'll Always Pick You and it was stamped using Versamark Ink onto black cardstock. I applied Hero Arts White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set before trimming it out and adding it onto the panel, also with black Extra Wide Foam Tape. A very quick and easy card to make but I love the pretty colours against the black cardstock. The gold in particular is stunning but always difficult to photograph! Thank you for joining me today, I hope that you have a wonderful day and I will be back soon with another card for you. Happy crafting!

Beautiful Heart

by Michelle Bala on May 03 2022
Hello there! Michelle here, so happy to share this card with you today! I used the Swirly heart A2 Stencil as my focal point. I inked it up with distress oxide inks in shades tattered rose, worn lipstick and aged mahogany. I masked up the perimeter of the stenciled heart and stamped the twine bow from the stamp set, Handmade Twine Bows. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set, Fancy Daily Sentiments. I stamped the bow and sentiment several times with black ink using the one and only MISTI!  I created the frame using Double Stitched Rectangle Dies and propped it up with the most amazing Foam Tape. For a finishing touch, I added a pair of Kaleidoscope Butterflies. I a hope you check out the products highlighted today!!! Can't wait to see what you create! Michelle

A Rainbow of Blessings

by Nancy Thomas on Apr 27 2022
Hello there fellow card makers! I am sharing another card created using products from the fabulous April release.  I used the new Rainbow Slim Line Insert die which is an addition to the Slim Line Cutting System to create this clean and simple shaker card. After cutting the opening from a sno cone stitched cardstock panel, I stamped the sentiment from the Word Topper Dies Subtitles. I created the shaker sandwich using the Extra Wide Foam Roll which is so easy to use since it has double sided adhesive. I filled the shaker space with the also new Day of Rainbows Sequin Mix.  The three clouds stacked below the rainbow were cut using two dies from the Cloud Dies set.    I hope your day is full of rainbows!

Momma and Baby Giraffes Mother's Day Card

by Charlene Madrid on Apr 26 2022
Mother’s Day is almost here, and the new Momma and Baby Giraffes A2 Stencil is just perfect to use for a Mother’s Day card. Charlene here from Dream Craft Create, and I am so excited to be posting for the first time on the Picket Fence Studios blog! For today’s card I paired the Momma and Baby Giraffes A2 Stencil with the Marvelously You Word Topper Die and the A2 Cherry Blossoms Cover Plate Die. First, I dry embossed a white A2 sized piece of cardstock with the Momma and Baby Giraffes A2 Stencil. Keeping the stencil in place, I ink blended in pink, yellow, and blue ink on the diagonal using my Life Changing Blender Brushes. I overlapped each color to achieve a rainbow effect. I love blending inks to make a rainbow! Next, I ink blended again in pink, yellow, and blue ink on a separate A2 sized piece of cardstock. I made sure to keep my piece of cardstock in the landscape orientation while I was ink blending. Once I had another rainbow of color, I die cut the cardstock using the Marvelously You Word Topper Die. Once I was done with my rainbow pieces, I die cut an A2 sized piece of cardstock using the A2 Cherry Blossoms Cover Plate Die. This cover plate is gorgeous. I want to use it to make a shaker card, but that is a card for another day! Once cut, I used my scissors to trim out the middle portion. I set the middle portion aside to use for another card. All that was left to do was to put everything together. I used liquid adhesive to adhere my pieces to an A2 sized card base in the order of giraffes, blossoms, then word topper. I added a little bling using sequins from the Day of Rainbows Sequin Plus Mix. I hope you find some time to craft today, and that my card inspires you. You can find more cards using products from the recent April release on my blog. All the supplies I used are listed below. Happy crafting!

Dare To Be Fabulous!

by Claudia Cubas on Apr 25 2022
Hi everyone, today I'm very happy to how you this card, it's very special for me because as soon as I saw this stamp  Iconic Beauty Scarlet   I thought of my daughter. I made this card thinking of her, a 13 year old teenager with all her insecurities and fragilities. Gaia often tells me her fears and desires, and I look at her in love with the look of a mom and I always tell her to love herself and believe in herself, because  "Dare to be fabulous". For my card I prepared the background using the stencil  Exagon Randomnes I decorated with a part of the  Slimline Hopes and Dreams Butterfly Cover Plate Die  inserting it behind the figure as an embellishment and then I completed with Sequin Mix Plus On a Cloudy  I created a video with the process which I will show you soon. I hope you enjoyed my inspiration! Claudia

by Heejung Hunsberger on Apr 20 2022
Hello, crafty friends, Heejung here with you to share a card using the Slim Line Hopes and Dreams Butterfly die and Filled to the Brim Stamp set. I inked up the background using Slim Line Hexagon Randomness Stencil and add distress oxide ink in Tumbled Glass Ink using Life Changing Blender Brushes. I die-cut the Slim Line Hopes and Dreams Butterfly from black card stock and white card stock. I glued the black butterfly frame on the background panel. And I inked up the butterfly's wings with some distress oxide inks in shades carved Pumpkin and twisted Squeezed Lemon using Life Changing Blender Brush on white card stock, then die-cut the Slim Line Hopes and Dreams Butterfly from blended color paper. It isn't easy to put the die-cut pieces of butterfly.  I added an adorable girl drinking tea (from Filled to the Brim stamp set )on center of the butterfly.   I finished up with Kaleidoscope Butterflies and fly with me sequins. Curvy Rainbow

by Sara Sherlock on Apr 19 2022

Hello!  It's Sara, from Much Love, Sara. I have a fun rainbow card to share with you today, featuring a fun new die.   I started today's card with a LOT of die cutting.  I die cut the new Slim Line Curvy Rainbow Die 8 times, from various colors of cardstock.  Then, I sorted the colors to create the rainbow, with two fluffy white clouds.  Before putting that die away, I lined a strip of Extra Wide Foam Tape with some parchment paper, and die cut the foam tape (parchment side next to die) with the die.  I used black foam intentionally in this project, so that it had a little bit of an outline look.   While the die cut foam was still on the yellow backing paper, I peeled off the parchment paper pieces, and laid my cardstock on top of the foam.  For the rainbow portion, this is a bit easier, if you weed out the small strip between the sections of color, before adding any cardstock.   I die cut a piece of light gray card stock with a die from the Slim Line Nested Rectangles Dies.  Then I added my rainbow.  I added this panel to a white card base.   To finish the card, I added a sentiment that was gold heat embossed onto vellum, from the Favorite Notification Stamp Set.  And then I added a scattering of Gems from the Sands of Time Gem Mix.   I hope you enjoyed today's project.  Find more cards using products from the recent April Release over on my blog.  Have a fantastic Tuesday!  Much Love,                                                  Sara

Embrace The Day

by Lisa Tilson on Apr 13 2022
Hello there, Lisa here with you today to share a card using the Full Round Tree Die and I paired it with a sentiment from an older set called Face The Sun I started by taking two panels of 110lb white cardstock and adding some Stick It Adhesive onto the back of them. Taking the Full Round Tree Die, I then ran each panel through my Gemini Junior a few times as it is an intricate die. I must have been feeling very brave when I decided to cut two of them and stack them together! But I went ahead with it anyway. I adhered the die cuts together gradually working my way around the tree and poking any excess out with my craft pick! This did take some time as you probably would have guessed. However, it really did make a difference having some dimension to the tree and if I had had a bit more patience, I would have die cut a third and added it on top. I think having a bit of dimension really helps to make it stand out from the cardstock behind. For the background I selected five different coloured cardstocks. I used Concord & 9th Peacock, Oceanside and Sprout, Lawn Fawn Cilantro and Hero Arts Kiwi. I cut these into jaunty triangles with my paper trimmer. This wasn’t as simple as you’d think either. I am sure there must be a quicker (and easier) way to cut them but mine took a while and involved all sorts of pencil lines here there and everywhere. Still, I loved it at the end, so that was also worth the time and I don’t think I have ever created a background like this before! All the triangles were adhered flat onto a panel of white cardstock that I then added to a top folding A2 base card. The tree stack was then added on top with wet adhesive. I stamped a sentiment from Face The Sun onto black cardstock, added some White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. I trimmed it out and popped it up with foam tape. A labour of love for sure – not that you would know it. It looks so simple! Thank you for joining me today. I hope that you have a good day, and happy crafting!

The Best Hugs Ever

by Nancy Thomas on Apr 06 2022
Good morning all. Nancy Thomas from Creative Palette here to share a card I created for the March release.  Using the Black Hybrid Ink Pad, I stamped the raccoons, bears, foxes and the various botanicals and hearts from the new The Best Hugs Ever then cut out with the matching dies and did the same with the owls from the More of the Best Hugs Ever stamp and die set.  All the images were colored with Copic markers, adding a bit of detail with a white gel pen on the animals and heart. I used the smaller frame from the 5x7 Double Stitched Rectangles Dies to cut from textured white and scarlet jewel cardstock using the inside white piece for my background. I then cut four circles out of it and backed with the woodgrain piece. With a bit of masking I stamped the partial sentiment then added the word die from the More of the Best Hugs Ever die set to finish it out. After securing the frames and inside piece to a 5x7 card base, I attached the images using either glue or foam dimensionals.   Aren't these critters just the cutest?

The Best Hugs Ever

by Claudia Cubas on Apr 04 2022
Hello all dear friends, today it's my turn to start this new week and we are already in the month of April! Today I want to show you a card full of tenderness and dedicated to the love of children, moms and dads. And this  stamp from the March release is really special  The Best Hugs Ever . I chose three pairs of cute little animals hugging each other. For my card I used the Slim Line Die Cutting Sistem  because with all its many elements, it allows me to create small windows for my scenes, one of my favorite sets. I tried to recreate the day scene, the sunset scene and the night scene, I hope you like my inspiration. Claudia
