Good to the Last Drop Paper Crafting

Hey there! Daniel West, here, with a good to the last drop paper crafting post. Today, I want to share with you an idea for using the very last and smallest of pieces of a die-cut and ink-blended panel.

I spent several hours playing with the A2 Cherry Blossom Cover Plate die and created three different projects out of one ink-blended panel. You can check out the other cards on my Instagram grid. But just look at this one! I decided to take the tiny pieces that the cover plate leaves behind and create a graphic, modern background.

To begin, I took out my Life-changing Blender Brushes and inked up a panel of white cardstock with Tiki Torch and Flirty Fuchsia Inks from Catherine Pooler.

Then, I ran the panel through my Gemini Jr die cutter and carefully lifted off the main die cut out of the die, leaving the little grid of diamond shaped pieces in the die.

Next, I added tiny drops of glue to the backs of the pieces. I made sure not to add big globs of adhesive so it didn't squish out from behind them when I adhered to the card panel.

After that, I flipped over the die onto a panel of white cardstock. I took a pointed tool and poked each of the pieces through to the panel. When I finished, I laid an acrylic block over them all to add some pressure and secure them to the cardstock.

Then, I took out one of the ladies from the Filled to the Brim stamp set and stamped her out onto some X-Press It Card with Picket Fence Intense Black Hybrid Ink. This ink is perfect for alcohol markers, like Copics.

Next, I colored her in with a palette of RV11 thru RV17, E11 thru E18 and some YG03. Then I die cut her with her coordinating die and popped her up over the front of the ink blended grid with foam tape.

After that, I stamped the sentiment in PFS Intense Black Hybrid Ink and added to Fly With Me Sequins.

To finished of the project, I trimmed my panel down a 1/4" on all sides and popped it up on the front of an A2-sized card base with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed this little "good to the last drop" card. You will find a grid of supplies below for your convenience.
