by Brenda Noelke on Dec 26 2024
Hello, crafty friends!! I hope those of you who celebrate had a wonderful Christmas!! Brenda here with a card featuring the Madame Kitty Stamp from the December release!! I started by stamping the cat in the Madame Kitty Stamp and the sentiment from the Dogs/Cats Always Know Good People Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored it and added shading with Copic markers. The panel was die-cut with the third largest die in the Beyond Basics: A2 Vintage Rectangle and Cover Plate Die Set. I also die-cut a panel of black cardstock with the second largest die in the same set. The coral panel was die-cut with the largest rectangle die in the Beyond Basics: A2 Stamp Cover Plate with Postmark Die Set. All the panels were stacked and adhered together using liquid glue. The "cat" heart is also from the Dogs/Cats Always Know Good People Stamp Set. It was stamped onto white cardstock with coral ink, fussy cut, then popped up with foam tape. I added some highlights to the cat's eyes with a white gel pen and this card was finished. I'm more of a dog person myself, but I have lots of friends who have cats and I adore this Madame Kitty Stamp!! Thank you so much for stopping by!! Have a wonderful day!! Brenda

Happy Friday, fellow crafters!! Brenda back with you today!! I've always loved new notebooks...oh, the possibilities!! The beginning of the school year was so exciting to me because we always got new school supplies!! So, I was super excited to see the composition notebook products in the October release!!  I began by adhering a narrow strip of black cardstock along the left side of a panel of blue paper from the Memo Pad: Brights Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Front Pack. I used a corner rounder to round both of the corners on the right side. I rounded the right corners of an A2 card base and adhered the panel to it using liquid glue. Next, I die-cut the A2 Ripped Notebook Cover Plate Die from white cardstock. I stamped the numbers from the A2 Notebook Grid Stamp along the left edge of the die-cut with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. It was adhered to the front of the card. The sentiment is from the Hello There Word Die Set. It was cut from teal and black cardstock, stacked and adhered together with liquid glue, then added to the front of the card. A few Thunderstorm Gems add a bit of sparkle to finish off the card. I love how this turned out!! Did you always look forward to new school supplies?!? A brand new notebook still makes my heart happy!! Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a wonderful weekend!! Happy Monday, Picket Fence friends!! Brenda here with a shaker card created with goodies from the Ocean Odyssey Release that just dropped yesterday!! Such a fantastic release!! My card today features the Seahorses of the Sea Stamp Set & Coordinating Dies, the Beachcomber Fabulous Glossy A2 Card Fronts!! I started much like I do most cards, by stamping the seahorse from the Seahorses of the Sea Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored him with Copic markers, added highlights with a white gel pen and used the Coordinating Die to cut him out.   Next, I created my shaker by die-cutting a panel of cardstock from the Beachcombing Fabulous Glossy A2 Card Fronts with the smallest rectangle die in the A2 Rectangle Layering Die Set and cutting an oval with a die in the Basic Die Cutting Set 1 Die Set. Can we just take a moment to appreciate how stunning this cardstock is?!? So beautiful!! I adhered the oval in the center of a panel of burnt orange cardstock that was cut out with the largest die in the A2 Rectangle Layering Die Set. Acetate and foam tape were adhered to the front panel, Tropical Breeze Sequins were added for the shakers and the layers were adhered together.  The sentiment is also from the Seahorses of the Sea Stamp Set. Not only does the sound of the sea help the tides rise...it totally relaxes me!! The sentiment was stamped onto white cardstock with burnt orange ink and cut out with the Coordinating Die. The seahorse and sentiment were adhered to the front of the card with liquid glue and this card was complete. I LOVE these colors and who doesn't love a shaker card?!? Be sure to check out the fabulous Ocean Odyssey Release in the shop!! Thank you so much for spending part of your Monday with me!! Have a great week!! Brenda

Hello, fellow crafters!! Brenda here with a holiday card featuring several products from the latest release!! The A Christmas Hello Stamp Set is one of my faves!! I started by stamping the A Christmas Hello Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I knew that I wanted to use one of the papers from the Holiday Traditions Foiling Toner Cardstock Pack for my background, so I colored the bird with neutral colors of Copics, then fussy cut it out. For the background, I trimmed a piece of paper from the Holiday Traditions Foiling Toner Cardstock Pack slightly smaller than A2. Although this toner paper is made to be used with foil, I loved it as the background for this beautiful bird. I spread Arctic Fox Paper Glaze Luxe onto a panel of white cardstock with a palette knife. Once it was dry, I die-cut the More Winter Snowflakes Dies from it and adhered them to the background panel. I trimmed the excess from the edges, then adhered it to an A2 card base. The bird was then adhered with liquid adhesive. The sentiment is from the Mistletoe Kisses Stamp Set. I stamped it onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink, fussy cut it out and popped it up with foam tape. I chose some iridescent snowflakes from the Christmas Flurries Sequin Mix and adhered those to the background to complete the card. This card has so much sparkle and shine, between the iridescent sequins and the paper glaze, it really packs a punch!! Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a great Tuesday!! Brenda

by Brenda Noelke on Jan 26 2023
Hello, Picket Fence friends!! How’s your week going? I hope it’s going well!! I’m sharing a sweet card today that would be perfect for Valentine’s Day!! I began by stamping the adorable whale from the Even More of a Fishy Lot Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored the whale with Copic markers, added highlights with a white gel pen, then used the Coordinating Die to cut it out. For the background, I masked off the sky and blended Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Ink onto the bottom of panel of Bristol smooth cardstock with Life Changing Blending Brushes for the sea. I splattered it with water and picked up the excess with a paper towel. I removed the mask and blended Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide onto the sky, also with a blending brush. The Scene Building: Sand Stamp was stamped onto Kraft cardstock with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink. I repositioned the stamp and stamped it again with white pigment ink, then added some shading with the brown ink and a blending brush. Once the ink was dry, I trimmed it by hand and adhered it to the bottom of the ink-blended panel. I trimmed the panel and adhered it to an A2 panel of red cardstock, then to a white top-folding card base. The sentiment, also from the Even More of a Fishy Lot Stamp Set, was stamped onto white cardstock with red ink and cut out with its Coordinating Die. I also stamped a couple of hearts from the Somebunny Loves You Stamp Set with red ink and cut those out with their Coordinating Dies. The whale, sentiment and hearts were all popped up with foam adhesive and this card was finished. Such a simple and sweet card to show your love!! Stay Strong

by Lisa Tilson on May 25 2022
Hello there, Lisa here with you today. I hope that you are all well! Today I have a card to share with you using the new Speedy Recovery stamp set, along with the A2 Blooming Iris stencil which was released last month. I didn't get a chance to use the stencil last month and as soon as I saw the Speedy Recovery set, I knew that I would pair them up. I love the way, in real life, iris's stand tall and strong and that's why I thought they would go well together.   I began by spraying Pixie Spray onto the back of the stencil and letting it sit for a minute or so. I then secured it to a panel of 80lb white cardstock. Using Life Changing Blender Brushes I blended Altenew Inks through the stencil. For the stems I used Moss and Olive; the flowers were inked with Lavender Fields and Deep Iris and the centres with Warm Sunshine. I did mask off areas as I went so that I got a crisp image without too much contamination of colour in other areas. I then did a little bit of pencil colouring over the inks to deepen some of the areas and I used Faber Castell Polychromos Olive Green Yellowish (173) and Mauve (249) for that. Next, I smooshed some Black Soot Distress Ink onto my glass mat, spritzed it with a little bit of water and then flicked some splatter over the panel. I left it to dry and then I popped it into the MISTI.  Using Black Hybrid Ink, I double stamped the Stay Strong sentiment from Speedy Recovery. To finish the card I adhered a few Iridescent Moonshine Sequins using wet adhesive and then added the panel onto a top folding A2 heavyweight note card. That brings me to the end of the card. I always enjoy using stencils whatever the medium. I hope that you get some time to craft today and maybe ink up a stencil or two yourselves. Until next time, have a great day!

Another Dog Card with Erica

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Feb 23 2021
Hi Picket Fence Friends!  It’s Erica back on the Picket Fence Studios blog, with another dog-themed card. I just love dogs, and the Pet All The Dogs set has so many cuties.  In the February release there was an English Brick Wall stencil added to the repertoire of stencils, and I had some fun with it, creating two backgrounds with a mix of Distress Oxide inks and Life Changing Blender Brushes.  Of course I also coloured up some doggies.. I’m not known for being a crazy dog lady for nothing, you know. For these little guys I used Black Hybrid ink on Copic friendly paper, and then coloured away. Happy like a puppy with a chew bone! Lots of Copics were used and then they were corralled into the diecutting machine with the coordinating die.  I thought it would be irresponsible to let the dogs roam free, so I also stamped up BFF Elise Girl with Black Hybrid ink and coloured her in as well. Luckily, she has a coordinating diecut as well! I also cut out another piece, just out of white card stock to layer her up a little.  A couple of sentiments from the Pet All The Dogs were stamped up directly onto the brick wall panel, that had been trimmed down a little, and then adhered to a white card base.  Well, with that, I’m all done for today but I am crossing my fingers, and my little chicas their paws, that you like the card!  Thanks for stopping by, lots of love and happy crafting from Erica

Dreaming Of A Deserted Island Vacay with Erica

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Feb 02 2021

Hi guys!  It’s Erica back on the Picket Fence Studio blog with a card using the You Or Wifi stamp and coordinating die set. It’s been a looooooong time since I’ve been on a beach holiday and it would be asolutely amazing to go on one, don’t you agree? Well, in the lieu of an actual holiday on a beach, I decided to create a beach themed card and dream of sand between my toes, sun on my face and a good book to read whilst working on my tan!  I started out by stamping up the island image from the You Or Wifi stamp set, with the help of a mini MISTI and the Black Hybrid Ink, on Copic friendly paper. While I was on a roll, I stamped up two of them actually.  With a huge array of Copic markers I coloured in the images. When that was done, I picked one and used the coordinating diecut on it. On a white card base, I ink blended some left over yellow ink over the Corner Sun stencil. This was just ink left on my Life Changing Blender Brushes as I wanted a really soft look. After achieving the look I wanted by gently blending the brushes over the stencil, I shifted it and kept blending. This gives the soft look I was after, with a few areas of slighty more opaque colours, for a gorgeous 'first rays of the day' look.  With the help of the diecut, I masked off the area that would be water, and used another Life Changing Blender Brush with blue ink on it.  The card just needed a sentiment and I ended up using one from the You Or Wifi set. It's stamped up with Black Hybrid ink and with that, the card was done!  What do you think? Want to meet me on the beach? Bring the SPF and a good book.  Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica

A Spooky Day With Ceal

by Ceal Pritchett on Sep 30 2020
Hello Everyone!  It's Ceal, here to share with you today. Can you believe that it is almost October? How did that happen when it was March was 3365 days alone. This has been the longest year but also time has flown by, only in 2020. With October comes Halloween which I love, but who know how it is going to be this year right? Anyhow I love making cute halloween cards and when we got the Coordinating dies to match A Spooky Day I was excited to make this card.  I started with a top folding white card base, a black panel, a purple pane and another piece of white cardstock to stamp the image. I stamped the haunted house image from A Spooky Day and colored it using Copic markers. I created the background by using a mask for the moon and distress inks in Soot, Wilted Violet, Carved Pumpkin and Crackling Campfire.   After I got the images all colored, I cut them out with the A Spooky Day coordinating dies and created a scene. I was going to add a greeting to the front but then decided to add it on the inside.  Thanks for stopping by and I have links below for the supplies I used. If you do use the links they are no extra cost to you but a little bit of commission for me. I appreciate your support.

Quick Christmas Cards with Paper Glaze and Slim Line Stencil

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Sep 29 2020
Hi guys!  Erica back on the PFS blog today, with a Christmas card. It’s quite quick, and simple so this is another design that will work when you need to make a bunch quickly!  I started out by spraying my Dashes Slim Line Stencil with Pixie Spray, and once that was cured, I adhered it to a piece of card stock. First up was the gorgeous Jade Vine Paper Glaze, and I spread a generous layer of it on about 75% of the stencil. Then I added some Snowdrop White to fill in the gaps and also to mix in with the Jade Vine to create a softer look. Finally, I added some Golden Rose for extra shimmer!  I love how it turned out, and that extra white and gold really does add a little something special!  Currently I’m on a total snowman craze, so I stamped up the snowman from On A Christmas Walk with Black Hybrid ink, and set that with my heat tool. Then I coloured him with some Copics and when I was happy with the colouring, I used the coordinating diecut to cut him out.  The Merry Christmas in the Fancy Christmas Sentiments was heat embossed in gold on white card stock, trimmed down to a slim banner and adhered to the top of the card. The snowman followed and with that, the card was done!  I really hope you like the card and found some inspiration here with me today. There will be a YouTube video coming to the Picket Fence Studios channel soon, so hang in there if you want to actually see the Paper Glaze and stencil in action!  Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica
