Life Is Better With A Friend

by Brenda Noelke on Dec 16 2024
Hello, crafty friends and happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! Brenda here today sharing a card featuring the adorable pup in the You Hold My Heart In Your Paw Stamp Set from Saturday's December release!! I began by stamping the pup from the You Hold My Heart In Your Paw Stamp Set onto white cardstock with Momento Espresso Truffle ink. I colored it with Copic markers, then fussy cut it out. I used a white gel pen to brighten the white highlights on the eyes and nose. For the background, I stenciled the Fetch Stencil Set onto a panel of white cardstock. Cream Puff Paper Glaze Glass from the Felines Sampler was applied through the bones layer and Chocolate Frosting Paper Glaze Luxe from the Canines Sampler was used with the paw print stencil. Once dry, the panel was die-cut with the third largest deckle edge die in the Beyond Basics: A2 Vintage Rectangle and Cover Plate Die Set. A panel of burnt orange cardstock was die-cut with the largest die in the Beyond Basics: A2 Rectangle and Cover Plate Die Set. I used the largest rectangle die in the Beyond Basics: A2 Stamp Cover Plate with Postmarks Dies to cut the bottom layer from brown cardstock. All the layers were layered and adhered together using liquid glue. The pup was also adhered with liquid glue, letting the ear hang off the top of the card. The sentiment, from the Life Is Better With A Furry Friend Stamp Set, was stamped onto white cardstock with yellow and orange dye ink. It was die-cut with the second largest oval die in the Basic Die Cutting Die Set 1 and popped up with foam tape. A trio of hearts from the Pick Me Sequin Mix finishes off the card. That does it for me today!! Be sure to check out the rest of the December release in the shop!! Have a great week!! Brenda

Friend - A Peony of Contrast

by Brenda Noelke on Oct 22 2024
Hello, friends and happy Tuesday!! Brenda here with a friendship card featuring the stunning A Peony of Contrast Stamp Set!! This is definitely one of my faves from the October release!! I began by stamping the A Peony of Contrast Stamp Set onto white cardstock with pale tan ink for some no-line coloring. I colored it with Copic markers and colored pencils, then fussy cut it out. For the background, I spread Huckleberry Blue Paper Glaze onto a panel of navy cardstock through the Frame of Mind 6x8 Stencil with a palette knife. (I turned the stencil at an angle slightly for a little more interest.) Once it was totally dry, it was die-cut with the largest die in the Beyond Basics: A2 Rectangle and Cover Plate Die Set. The peony was adhered with liquid glue. I also spread the Huckleberry Blue Paper Glaze onto a small piece of navy cardstock. Once that was dry, "friend" was die-cut from it using the Cheers My Friend Word Die Set, along with three more layers from navy cardstock. They were stacked and adhered together with liquid glue, then added to the front of the card. I decided to forgo any sequins or gems and let the beautiful bloom shine. I can't wait to color this stamp set with all the mediums!! Thank you so much for stopping by today!! Have a wonderful week!! Brenda

Waterlilies from Layering Fauna Butterfly Dies

by Andrea Shell on Feb 21 2024

Hello there! It's Andrea back with you, and today I'm sharing an unexpected way to use the new Layering Fauna Butterfly Dies. When I first saw these dies, I thought of waterlilies and couldn't get that image out of my mind. I diecut the butterfly dies separately from pale pink cardstock: one solid butterfly and one with the lily shape. I taped the negative and postive pieces together on the back of the second butterfly. I placed the diecuts onto the 5"x6" Paper Inking Palette and, using the Bright Rainbow Pint-sized Paper Pouncers, applied pink dye ink to the diecuts. Once I was happy with the ink-blending, I added White Snowflake Paper Splatter to the diecuts with the Fan Brush. I trimmed the solid butterfly apart to create two solid bases and adhered the negative pieces from the second butterfly to the solid shapes with tiny pieces of foam tape.  Because of the size of my "waterlilies", I decided to make a 5"x7" card. I blended a panel of white cardstock with a couple shades of teal ink using the Life Changing Blender Brushes. The 6"x8" Tree Bark Stencil reminded me of water ripples. After placing the stencil over my ink-blended panel, I spread Twilight Lights - Seas Paper Gaze Luxe over the panel. Once the glaze was dry, I trimmed down my panel and affixed it to a cardbase with double-sided adhesive. I adhered my lilies with double-sided adhesive, popping up the foreground lily with thin 3D foam squares. I diecut the letters to spell "friend" twice from white cardstock using the Slim Line Stitched and Scalloped Rectangles and Alpha Diecutting System. I applied the same ink used on the waterlilies to one of the diecuts and then glued the layers together for stability. I stamped a supporting sentiment from the Animal Crackers You Deserve to Be Spoiled stamp set with Black Hybrid Ink and diecut it with the coordinating dies. I glued "friend" to my card and popped up the supporting sentiment with foam tape. To finish the card, I glued some of the tiny sequins from the Iridescent Moonshine Sequin mix to the waterlilies. You Were Meant to Stand Out

by Brenda Noelke on Apr 19 2023
Hello, crafty friends and happy Wednesday!! I hope you’re having a great week!! I have a monochromatic slimline card to share with you today featuring goodies from the latest April Release!! I started by stamping the amazing flamingo and sentiment from the Fabulous Flamingos Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored the flamingo with Copic markers, then used the Coordinating Dies to cut her and the sentiment out. For the background, I applied Pink Magnolia Paper Glaze Luxe to a panel of pink cardstock with a palette knife using the Lots Of Blossoms 6x8 Stencil. Once it was dry, I die cut it, along with a panel of white cardstock using dies from the Slim Line Nested Rectangles Die Set. Both panels were adhered to a white slimline card base. The flamingo and sentiment die-cuts were popped up with foam tape. Lots of pink iridescent sequins from the Butterfly Bush Embellishment Mix were the perfect finishing touch. I really love how this turned out! I can’t wait to use the other flamingo image in the Fabulous Flamingos set!! Thank you so much for dropping by today!! I appreciate your time!! Have a good one!! Christmas Countdown - Let It Snow

Hello, friends and welcome back for another day of Christmas Countdown inspiration!! Brenda here with a winter stenciled and die-cut card!! I absolutely LOVE snowflakes and couldn’t wait to use the Falling Snowflakes Stencil with some Paper Glaze!!   I usually start with the focal point when I sit down to create a card, but in this case I started with the background. I spread Turquoise Jewelry Paper Glaze Luxe onto heavyweight white cardstock through the Falling Snowflakes Stencil with a palette knife. I also spread some Pink Tinsel Paper Glaze Velvet onto another panel of heavyweight white cardstock. I set the two panels aside to dry.  Once they were dry, I trimmed the snowflake panel slightly and adhered it to an A2 white card base. I die-cut the Let It Snow Word Die from the pink panel and cut it two more times from heavyweight white cardstock. I stacked and adhered the white layers together, adhered them behind the pink one, slightly offset, then added them to the center of the card.  A snowflake was die-cut from white glitter cardstock using a die from the Jolly Good Rainbow Die Set. I adhered it in the center of the “o”, then stacked an iridescent and clay snowflake from the Candied Snow Sequin Mix Plus on top. I love this color combo!! I wish you could see all of the sparkle and texture!! Thank you so much for hanging out with me for a bit!! Have a wonderful day!!
