Thanks Shaker Card

by Silvana Chambon on Jan 11 2025
Hello, friends! My name is Silvana, from Casa Magnolia, and today Iยดm going to share with you a fun shaker card made with some of the produts from the last release.ย  The card features the new Thanks Stacked word Die. Itยดs a big die, perfect to fill an A2 card panel. I prepared a background with the new Meow 6x8 Layering Stencil Set and the new Paper Glaze Felines Sampler Set. I loved the stencil because itยดs versatile: you can use one single layer or the two layering stencils to create your backgrounds.ย  I cut the background with the Thanks die, then put a piece of acetate sheet behind and put this foam tape to make the shaker. I fill it with the new Cattiude Sequin Mix Plus.ย  To finish the card I stamped one of the cats from the Happy Paws stamp and colored it, Then I used one of the sentiments from the same set and stamped onto a black cardstock with embossing ink and white embossing powder.ย  And thatยดs my completed card! I really like shaker cards and I think this is a good combination to making one.ย  Thank you so much for being here in the blog today and for being part of Picket Fence Studios.ย  Have a fantastic weekend! Silvana

Hot Air Ballon Shaker

by Andrea Shell on Nov 19 2024
Hi there! Itโ€™s Andrea with you to share a colorful card featuring new goodies from Picket Fence Studios! Isnโ€™t that hot air balloon fun?! I created it with the new Hot Air Balloon Dies, which coordinate perfectly with the new A2 Cloud Peek A Boo Dies that I used for my shaker frame. I started by diecutting white cardstock with the Hot Air Balloon Dies. I placed each piece onto the 4x4 Paper Inking Palette and colored them with dye inks that I applied with the Life Changing Blender Brushes. I assembled the balloon with liquid adhesive and added highlights with a white gel pen. That awesome background is from the Adventures in Hot Air Ballooning Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts. To frame the panel, I diecut white cardstock with the A2 Cloud Peek A Boo Dies. I blended the diecut with pink ink and added splatters of water. I backed the cloud diecut with clear acetate and a layer of foam tape and used the new Carnival Day sequin mix for my shaker. For my sentiment I combined the Swanky Sentiments: Salutations stamp with the Hot Air Balloons Sighting set. I heat-embossed โ€œhelloโ€ from the Swanky Sentiments set in gold onto white cardstock and diecut it with the coordinating dies. I white heat-embossed the supporting sentiment from the Hot Air Balloons Sighting set onto pink cardstock and trimmed it down. I popped up the hot air balloon and sentiments with foam adhesive and finished with a few pearls from the Carnival Day mix. Thanks for stopping by! *Affiliate links used at no cost to you.

Christmas Shaker Card: Copic-Colored Diecuts

by Andrea Shell on Aug 26 2024
Hi there! It's Andrea back to share a fun shaker card featuring new dies from Picket Fence Studios. Have you seen the Nibbles line of dies from Picket Fence Studios? They are so adorable! I'm featuring two of the newest Nibbles dies on this card: The Brave Bear and Santa. I love them! I diecut the various elements from white and colored cardstocks. Before assembling the characters, I added Copics to the pieces to create a bit of dimension. To keep the diecuts in place while I colored them, I used the 4"x4" Paper Inking Palette. For the shaker I diecut gray cardstock with the A2 Saying Hello Cover Plate Die. I backed the panel with clear acetate and strips cut from Extra Wide Foam (The extra thickness is perfect for shakers!). I created the polka dot background by stenciling white cardstock with the A Whole Lot of Polka Dots 6"x8" Stencil. I used a Pint-Sized Paper Pouncer to apply red ink through the stencil. The shaker pieces are from the Hi Santa! It's Me! mix. After placing the sequins onto my polka dot panel, I sealed them with the diecut panel. I attached my bear and Santa with foam squares and finished with a sentiment from the Peaceful Christmas Flowers stamp set, which I diecut with the coordinating dies. Underwater Shaker Card

by Andrea Shell on May 02 2024
Hi there! It's Andrea back to share a shaker card featuring the new You Octopi My Thoughts stamp set. I love the ocean theme of the April release! Is anyone else itching to head to the beach now?! I started by stamping the octopus from You Octopi My Thoughts with Black Hybrid Ink. I colored him with Copics, added some white details with a gel pen, and cut him out with the coordinating dies. The foliage is from the Layering Flora: Leaves and Twigs Dies. I diecut a few shapes from white cardstock and then placed the diecuts onto the 4"x4" Paper Inking Palette. Using the Rainbow Pint-Sized Paper Pouncers, I "colored" the diecuts with distress inks. I wanted to make a porthole style shaker, so I diecut the 3.0" Connected Circles Shaker Dies five times from white cardstock and once from metallic paper. I layered the white diecuts together and backed the silver one with acetate before gluing it on top of the white diecuts. I glued the octopus and foliage to one of the Beachcombing Fabulous Glossy A2 Card Fronts, added some Iridescent Moonshine sequins, and sealed them in place with the stacked diecuts. I trimmed around the shaker to remove the excess from the patterned paper and foliage. I stamped a sentiment from You Octopi My Thoughts in black onto an A2 card. I attached my shaker with double-sided adhesive and glued silver pearls to the silver frame to complete the porthole. Thanks for stopping by! *Affiliate links used at no cost to you.

Seahorse Shaker Card

by Andrea Shell on Apr 17 2024
Hello there! It's Andrea back with you sharing some new products from the April release. I love seahorses, so I couldn't pass up the new Seahorses of the Sea stamp set. I also used the sea grass images from You Octopi My Thoughts. I stamped everything with Black Hybrid ink and colored them with Copics. I added white highlights and cut out the images with the coordinating dies from each set. The new Magical Seas Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts have beautiful, nighttime, sea scenes that make creating cards super quick and easy. I chose one from the pack and adhered it to a white card. I created a frame from white cardstock with the Basic Die Cutting Die Set 1. I backed the white frame with clear acetate and a layer of foam tape. After placing a bunch of sequins from the new Island Blues sequin mix onto my background, I sealed them in place with the frame. The sentiment is from the You Octopi My Thoughts set. I stamped it in Black Hybrid Ink and diecut it with the coordinating dies. After attaching my colored images to the acetate, I popped up the sentiment with thin 3D foam squares. The Sound of the Sea Helps Tides Rise

by Brenda Noelke on Apr 15 2024
Happy Monday, Picket Fence friends!! Brenda here with a shaker card created with goodies from the Ocean Odyssey Release that just dropped yesterday!! Such a fantastic release!! My card today features theย Seahorses of the Sea Stamp Setย & Coordinating Dies, the Beachcomber Fabulous Glossy A2 Card Fronts!! I started much like I do most cards, by stamping the seahorse from the Seahorses of the Sea Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored him with Copic markers, added highlights with a white gel pen and used the Coordinating Die to cut him out. ย  Next, I created my shaker by die-cutting a panel of cardstock from the Beachcombing Fabulous Glossy A2 Card Fronts with the smallest rectangle die in theย A2 Rectangle Layering Die Setย and cutting an oval with a die in the Basic Die Cutting Set 1 Die Set. Can we just take a moment to appreciate how stunning this cardstock is?!? So beautiful!! I adhered the oval in the center of a panel of burnt orange cardstock that was cut out with the largest die in the A2 Rectangle Layering Die Set. Acetate and foam tape were adhered to the front panel, Tropical Breeze Sequins were added for the shakers and the layers were adhered together.ย  The sentiment is also from the Seahorses of the Sea Stamp Set. Not only does the sound of the sea help the tides rise...it totally relaxes me!! The sentiment was stamped onto white cardstock with burnt orange ink and cut out with the Coordinating Die. The seahorse and sentiment were adhered to the front of the card with liquid glue and this card was complete. I LOVE these colors and who doesn't love a shaker card?!? Be sure to check out the fabulous Ocean Odyssey Release in the shop!! Thank you so much for spending part of your Monday with me!! Have a great week!! Brenda

It's Time For Fun - Easter Shaker Card

by Brenda Noelke on Mar 08 2023

Hello, fellow crafters!! Brenda here with a fun Easter shaker card to share with you today!! I'm sooo ready for Spring and this card just screams "Spring!!" with its soft pastel colors!! I began by stamping the Peter Bunny & Friends Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored the image with Copic markers and fussy cut it out. (There is a Coordinating Dieย Set available, but it is out of stock right now.) Next, I white heat embossed the Easter Egg Time Stamp Set onto a panel of white cardstock and blended pastel colors of Distress Oxide Inks onto the panel with Life Changing Blender Brushes. I die-cut a circle into the panel with the 3.0 Connected Circles Shaker Creator Dies. I also die-cut a larger circle from a shaker sheet using the same die set and adhered it to the back of the ink-blended panel. I applied foam adhesive to the back of the panel, added Hopย and Bunny Honeyย embellishments, then lined up the circle die-cut and adhered it so the eggs matched seamlessly with the background. The panel was then adhered to a white A2 card base. The Peter Bunny & Friends image was adhered to the front of the card with liquid adhesive. The sentiment, also from the Peter Bunny & Friends Stamp Set, was white heat embossed onto black cardstock, trimmed into a narrow strip and popped up with foam adhesive.ย  I just love this bunny in the mug and those Hop and Bunny Honey embellishments are absolutly perfect for Easter cards!! Thanks so much for spending a bit of time with me today!! Have a good one!! Brenda

Under the Sea Shaker Card

by Heejung Hunsberger on Feb 10 2023
Hello Crafty Friends, Do you like shaker cards? I really love all types of shaker cards. I made another type of shaker card featuring the Evan More of a Fishy Lot Stamp and coordinating die. ย  CARD RECIPE: Even More of a Fishy Lot Stamp Set Even More of a Fishy Lot Coordinating Die Sun with Rays 6ร—8 Stencil School of Fish Stamp A2 Full Front Shaker Die Sea of Dolphins Sequin Mix Where Mermaids Live Stamp ย  I used the Distress Oxide inks (Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon, Chipped Sapphire ) for the color blending on the background.ย  After coloring, the school of Fish stamp was stamped, using the Sun with Rays stencil with white pigment ink. Finished spray water on the colored surface. For the sentiment, I used the Where Mermaids Live Stamp set, white heat embossed it. ย  I used the A2 Full Front Shaker die to cut the shaker sheet and fill the Sea of Dolphins Sequin Mix in the shaker. ย  Thatโ€™s all for today. Butterfly Slim Line Shaker

by Brenda Noelke on Jan 05 2023

Hello, fellow crafters and happy Thursday!! I hope your week is going well!! I have a fun slim line shaker card to share with you today!! I LOVE butterflies!! They can be used for so many different occasions!! I began with my background panel, so it would haveย adequte time to dry (although it dries really quickly). I applied Snowdrop White Paper Glaze onto a panel of white cardstock through the Slim Line A Whole Lot of Polka Dots Stencil with a palette knife. While that was drying, I stamped the sentiment, from the Baby Butterfly Beauties Stamp Set, onto white cardstock with Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Ink. I stamped some butterflies from the same set with Shaded Lilac, Kitsch Flamingo and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Inks, then die-cut the sentiment and butterflies with the Coordinating Dies. I LOVE the sentiments in this stamp set...they are so uplifting and positive!! I also die-cut the second largest die in the Nesting Ring Die Set from pink cardstock.ย  Next, the stenciled background panel was die-cut with the smaller rectangle die in the Slim Line Die-Cutting System Set. The Monarch Butterfly Slim Line Die-Cutting System Insert was cut from the center of the panel. I adhered acetate behind the butterfly, then added foam tape to the back of the panel. A combination of All About the Pinks, All About the Yellows and All About the Purples sequin mixes were added for the shaker bits. I adhered a small piece of white cardstock behind the opening and then adhered the panel to a slimline panel of pink cardstock that was cut from the largest Slim Line Nested Rectangles Die. The Nesting Ring Die was adhered with liquid glue, while the sentiment and butterfly die-cuts were popped up with foam tape, for even more dimension. Whew!! I know that was a long one, but shaker cards are a little more involved and take more time to explain!! Thanks for hanging in there with me!! I appreciate you taking the time to stop by today!! Have a wonderful Thursday!! Brenda
