Let's Have Some Christmas Fun

by Brenda Noelke on Sep 16 2024
Hello, crafty friends and happy new week!! Brenda here with a mini slimline Christmas card to share featuring the adorable Reindeer at Play Stamps & Coordinating Dies, as well as several other goodies from Saturday's September Release!! I began by stamping the reindeer from the darling Reindeer at Play Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored them with Copic markers, added highlights with a white gel pen, then cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. For the background, I spread Holly Leaf Green Paper Glaze Luxe through the Tree Farm Stencil onto a panel of white cardstock with a palette knife. Once it was dry, I trimmed the panel slightly smaller than mini slimline size and adhered it to a slimline panel of red cardstock.  The "Christmastime" sentiment was die-cut from red cardstock one time and heavyweight white cardstock twice using the Christmastime He's the Reason for the Season Word Die Set. The layers were adhered together using liquid glue. The sub-sentiment is from the Reindeer at Play Stamp Set. It was stamped onto white cardstock with red ink and cut out with the Coordinating Die. All the die-cuts were arranged and adhered to the background with liquid glue. A couple of candy clay pieces from the Oh, What Fun Sequin Mix Plus added to each side of the sub-sentiment finishes off the card. How sweet are those little reindeer?!? Soooooo cute!! Thanks so much for spending part of your Monday with me!! Have a great week and I'll see you soon!! Brenda

Thank You - Blooming Trumpet Flowers

by Brenda Noelke on Jun 05 2024
Hello, crafty friends!! I hope you are all doing well!! Brenda here with a thank you card featuring the gorgeous Blooming Trumpet Flowers Stamp Set, along with a few other goodies from the latest May release!! I began by stamping the flower and leaves from the Blooming Trumpet Flowers Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored them with Copic markers, added dots to the stamen with a yellow gel pen, then cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. Next, I die-cut a panel of white cardstock with the smallest die in the A2 Rectangle Layering Die Set. I stenciled Paper Glaze Luxe: Twinkle Lights - Purple onto the panel through the You Make the World Shimmer A2 Stencil with a palette knife. Once dry, it was adhered to a panel of purple gingham cardstock from the Sweet Gingham Fabulous Glossy Cardstock Pack. The sentiment, also from the Blooming Trumpet Flowers Stamp Set, was white heat embossed onto black cardstock. The sentiment, flowers and leaves were all popped up with foam tape. Sequins from the Razzle Dazzle and All About the Purple sequin mixes finish off the card. Thank you so much for stopping by today!! Have a fabulous Wednesday!! Brenda

Adding Texture and Dimension with Stenciling and Ink Schmooshing

by Colleen Balija on Mar 28 2024
Hi friends! I love to add texture and dimension to most of my cards, but I like to keep as simple as possible. So, I've got a fun and glittery card for you today! The products I'm using are You Are So Extra sentiment die, Indian Summer stencil, Paper Glaze Luxe in Gold Ring, Paper Watercolor Splatters in Turquoise Blue, and reactive inks.  First, I grabbed some reactive inks in shades of teal and blue. I like to use reactive inks because they react to water and adds interest! You can find reactive inks just about anywhere!  Placing the ink directly onto a glass media matt, I sprayed a little water over the ink and then placed a piece of watercolor cardstock, sized 5.5x4.25, right over the ink and moved it around a bit. Then I dried it with my heat tool and added another layer, repeating the same process with each color of reactive ink until I was happy with the background. Then I added water over the inked-up panel to get that cool reaction that is unique to reactive ink!  Once the panel was fully dried, I stenciled Gold Ring Paper Glaze Luxe over the inked-up area using Indian Summer stencil. I like that you can still see plenty of the inked-up area beneath the golden glaze! I set the panel aside to let the glaze dry and focused on the focal point - that HUGE sentiment!  For my sentiment that says, "You Are Extra", I die cut the bottom layer onto vellum and the top layer over a panel that I had inked up and stenciled with the same ink colors as the background and the Indian Summer stencil. This is a very large sentiment die, so I could get away with adding extra detail to it! Anywhere I can add detail, I'm on it!   I adhered the sentiment over the background panel and finished with liquid watercolor in Turquoise! This card has so much interest because of the colors, the texture, the dimension, and the shine! Get playful with your stash of PFS supplies and see how you can come up with an easy card that adds texture, shine, and dimension! You Were Meant to Stand Out

by Brenda Noelke on Apr 19 2023
Hello, crafty friends and happy Wednesday!! I hope you’re having a great week!! I have a monochromatic slimline card to share with you today featuring goodies from the latest April Release!! I started by stamping the amazing flamingo and sentiment from the Fabulous Flamingos Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored the flamingo with Copic markers, then used the Coordinating Dies to cut her and the sentiment out. For the background, I applied Pink Magnolia Paper Glaze Luxe to a panel of pink cardstock with a palette knife using the Lots Of Blossoms 6x8 Stencil. Once it was dry, I die cut it, along with a panel of white cardstock using dies from the Slim Line Nested Rectangles Die Set. Both panels were adhered to a white slimline card base. The flamingo and sentiment die-cuts were popped up with foam tape. Lots of pink iridescent sequins from the Butterfly Bush Embellishment Mix were the perfect finishing touch. I really love how this turned out! I can’t wait to use the other flamingo image in the Fabulous Flamingos set!! Thank you so much for dropping by today!! I appreciate your time!! Have a good one!!
