Hello! It's Sara, from Much Love, Sara. Welcome to the final day of our 25 Days of Christmas Inspiration! I have one last holiday card to share with you today. I loved the mental break I got making this card, as the watercoloring process was very calming.
I began by stamping, and
white heat embossing, the beautiful
Christmas Poinsettia Star Stamp (this large Poinsettia image is one of my all-time favorite Christmas stamps), onto
watercolor paper.
On my glass worksurface, I pressed the red ink pad down to transfer some ink. Then I used a watercolor brush, to brush water over each petal I was working on. I, then, would pick up some color, and concentrate it in the center of the flower, using a second brush dipped in water to blend the color out, until the tips of the petals were nearly white. I repeated this process to finish out each petal. Finally, I added a little yellow ink to my work surface, and used that in the center of the flower.
Once the panel had FULLY dried, I marked the edges of the paper where I needed them trimmed off at. Then, I used the edge of a ruler to hold the paper in place, and I tore off the excess paper. Because of the thickness of the watercolor paper, this gave it a pretty deckled edge.
I love the way this card turned out. It's just as pretty as I pictured it.
I hope you enjoyed today's card. Find more cards using products from the recent December Release over on my blog.
Have a fantastic Tuesday, and a very joyful holiday season!
Much Love,
Sara
