Hi guys!
It's Erica back on the Picket Fence blog today with a two for one cards. I love, love, love ink blending with my Life Changing Blender Brushes but what I don't love is the wasted ink on the stencils. So, what's a girl to do? Well, she uses that too of course!! By spritzing water on the stencil to activate the ink, and then press a piece of water colour paper over it, you get the negative print from the stencil! Pretty cool, huh??
I have used one of my all-time favourite Picket Fence Studios stencils, Fancy Kaleidoscope, I love this one so much.
Another fave combo is the BFF Maggie Mae stamp and coordinating diecut. I thought she'd work really well as it's technically autumn, but it's still sunny and lovely here in Spain. I'd love to be as stylish as she is, and I coloured her up in a couple of outfits that I could see myself wearing (if only I'd go shopping for clothes)
With these coloured in, I used the coordinating diecut and cut them both out. I nearly left the backgrounds as they were, but decided to add a little touch of sparkle to them. I mixed up a little bit of Brown Dahlia and Golden Rose Paper Glaze with water to make a shimmery water colour, and splattered this all over both backgrounds.
While that was drying, I cut out two Word Topper Dies: the Hello and the Happy Fall Y'All out of white card stock. I usually layer these up but I wanted them to be quite subtle so I didn't today.
On top of these I have stamped up 'my friend' from the Word Topper Subtitles stamp set, with Black Hybrid ink and 'it might be cold outside but your smile warms my heart' in Flame ink from Catherine Pooler.
With all the pieces ready it was a quick job of adding them to the card bases with liquid adhesive, and the cards were done!
That's it from me for today but I hope you enjoyed these cards and the different looks you can get with my two-for-one technique.
Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica
