Hollyhock Hello and a Shaped Card

Hi there! It's Andrea here to share my last project as a design team member for Picket Fence Studios. It has been a pleasure and an honor to be on the team, and I hope I have inspired you even just a little. My card features the new Hollyhocks in Bloom stamp set along with the Beyond the Basics: A2 Scallops, Arches and Window Cover Plate Dies. I colored the hollyhocks with Copics and added a little shading with colored pencils before diecutting the image with the coordinating dies. I created a shaped cardbase with one of the scalloped arch dies from the Beyond Basics: A2 Scallops, Arches and Window Cover Plate Dies. With the same die, I created a scalloped arch from white cardstock. To add interest to the arch, I blended light blue ink through the Classic Hatch 6x8 Stencil with a Life Changing Blender Brush. I flicked Opaque Gold Paper Splatter over the panel using the Fan Brush. Once the background was dry, I adhered it to my cardbase and added a gold frame created with the A2 Scallops Dies. My focal sentiment was created with the Hello 3.0 Word Topper Die. First, I applied Peony Pink Paper Glaze to white cardstock. Once the glaze was dry, I diecut "hello" from the pink cardstock. I also diecut "hello" from white cardstock to layer behind the pink diecut to help it stand out on my card. I stamped a supporting sentiment from the Hollyhocks set and diecut it with the coordinating dies. To assemble my card, I attached the hollyhocks with thin 3D foam squares. After trimming the layered Hello diecuts slightly, I adhered it with foam and popped up my supporting sentiment on top. I finished with a scattering of gems from the In Wonderland Gem Mix. Cup Runneth Over With Blooms and 'Shrooms

by Bobbi Lemanski on Feb 19 2025
I remember in the movie, Hope Floats, the young girl character, Bernice Pruitt says, "My cup runneth over." If I recall correctly, her grandma would often use this phrase from Psalm 23:5. It means that someone is so blessed or filled with good things that they have more than enough. I love that phrase. When I made this card, I thought about that phrase and just wanted to show that feeling in my design. It's Bobbi Lemanski here with a teacup full of goodness! I'm using the following Picket Fence Studios Whimsical Wonderland release products:  Hollyhocks in Bloom stamps and coordinating dies Mushrooms Aplenty stamps Beyond Basics: A2 Scallops, Arches and Window Cover Plate Dies Dainty Cup die Layering Flora: Hardy Fern die  This 5" X 7" card is made from Neenah 80lb Classic Crest cardstock for the card base and front panel. To make this card, I started by die cutting the teacup top layer from an aqua cardstock and the shadow layer from white cardstock. I added a few highlight marks on the top layer using my white Gelly Roll pen.  To fill the teacup, I stamped, colored and die cut the flowers using the Hollyhocks in Bloom stamps and coordinating dies. I did the same using the Mushrooms Aplenty stamps. I fussy cut the mushrooms since I did not have the dies. They were very quick to cut out. For both the flowers and mushrooms, I used Copic Sketch markers in R29, R27, R17, R14, R22, and R20. I also used YG67, YG17 and YG03 for the leaves as well as E43, E42, W3 and W1 for the mushroom stems and some shadowing. Additional greenery was added to the teacup arrangement using the Layering Flora: Hardy Fern die. I cut the leaves from a green cardstock and filled in the arrangement with the fronds. With the teacup complete, I focused on the background. I splattered the 5" X 7" card front with black watercolor paint. I used Kuretake Gansai Tambi paints and a fan brush to create the splatters. I added a solid aqua scalloped arch die and an arch window pane die from the Beyond Basics: A2 Scallops, Arches and Window Cover Plate Dies. I attached the teacup in front of the layered arched die cuts using foam tabs to make it stand out a bit. Lastly, I added the "thank you" sentiment from the Hollyhocks in Bloom stamp set. This "cup has runneth over" with beautiful blooms and 'shrooms! You can shop the entire Picket Fence Studios Whimsical Wonderland new release here. I Appreciate You - Hollyhocks in Bloom

by Brenda Noelke on Feb 16 2025
Hello, friends and happy Sunday!! Brenda here with a card featuring the stunning Hollyhocks in Bloom Stamp Set from yesterday's Whimsical Wonderland release!! There's also a two-day Instagram hop full of inspiration from the creative team and special guests that started yesterday, so be sure to check that out as well!! Day 2 of the hop starts at 4PM CST!! Let's get to my card, shall we? I started by stamping the floral and butterfly images from the Hollyhocks in Bloom Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored it with Copic markers, then cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. Purchase the Hollyhocks in Bloom Bundle and save 10%!! For the background, I die-cut the plaid die from the Beyond Basics: A2 Rectangle & Cover Plate Die Set from white cardstock. I die-cut another panel of white cardstock with the smallest rectangle die in the same set, along with a bright pink panel with the largest rectangle die. All the layers were stacked and adhered together using liquid glue. The hollyhocks were also adhered with liquid glue along the right side. The sentiments are also from the Hollyhocks in Bloom Stamp Set. They were white heat embossed onto black cardstock and cut out with the Coordinating Die. The sentiments and butterflies were popped up with foam adhesive and this card was finished. I can't wait to color these hollyhocks with other mediums!! They're so much fun to color!! That does it for me!! Be sure to check out the IG for tons more inspiration!! You can get started on the PFS account HERE!! Have a great Sunday and happy hopping!! Brenda
