Hello, everyone! Happy New Year to all of you. It´s Silvana here and I´m thankful to be part of the team for another season. Yay! We´re gonna have so much fun.
For my first post of the year I´m bringing a card with a different shape: it´s an A2 card but I cut it to be like a banner.
I think it´s a good way to make something easy but different and it´s a perfect card for a birthday but for any ocassion that involves cake (which, basically, are all the events in life :)
Speaking of cakes, I´m using one of the cakes in the new Sugar and Calorie Free stamp set. I colored it with Karin Markers to make the watercolor effect.
But I think the star here is the background made with the fantastic new Sprinkles 6x8 Layering Stencil set. A fun stencil set which comes with 5 stencils to make the layers. But, I have a secret: if you flip one of the stencils and use the other side, I mean, the side that in first place touches the paper, you have extra layers to use.
That´s what I did: I used each stencil one way with inks. By the way, I tried the new Pint Sized Paper Pouncers for this and they worked perfectly!
For the sixth layer I flipped the first stencil and used the new Paper Glitz Buttercream to add some sparkle and shine to this celebration card!
I trimmed the final background in a 4 by 5 1/4" and made the banner cut.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set Sugar and Calorie Free stamped in the same magenta cardstock with embossing ink and white embossing powder.
To add an extra touch I used some golden thread and made a bow in the fold. This is a top folding card.
