Birthday card by Laura

by Laura Nistal on Feb 22 2023
Hello everyone! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "Peter bunny and Friends" Stamps set that I stamped with "Black Hybrid ink pad" which is perfect for this type of stamps! Then I painted all the images with alcohol markers and then with a white marker I glossed it to make it stand out.  Then i cut out the images using the "Peter bunny and Friends" coordinating dies but you can carefully cut them out with scissors if you prefer. Next I prepared the background: for this I used the "Plumeria Flowers 6x8" stencil that I painted with distress inks in a corner of the card. For the sentiment I used a phrase from the same set of stamps that I cut out of white cardstock. To decorate I added some "Gems mixes fire" to give the card a little more contrast. Finally I prepared the composition, glued all the pieces and this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store. A huge kiss and until next time! Laura

Birthday girl card by Laura

by Laura Nistal on Jun 30 2022
Hello everyone!! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this birthday card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "Birthday Girl Dear" stamps that I stamped with the "Black Hybrid Ink Pad" and then painted with alcohol markers. Then I cut a red and a black cardstock with the "Happy Day Word Topper Die" and glued one on top of the other to make a shadow. Then I prepared the background: for this I used a white cardboard where I used the "Tile Montage 6x6 stencil" to which I applied green, yellow and red tones in combination with the stamps Finally I prepared the composition, glued all the pieces and added some "Gems Mixes Fire" and "Gems Mixes Oceans of Green" to give it a more glamorous touch. I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store.  A huge kiss and until next time! Laura

by Michelle Bala on Jun 13 2022
Hello there, Michelle here!!! I'm sharing two cards with a throwback to some previously released stamps and dies...Penguins Wanna Have Fun Stamps and Coordinating Dies, and Glacier Scenery Stamps and Coordinating Dies. It's no secret, I love the Mini Slim Line Double Stitched Rectangles Dies. I combined it with the stamp set More of the Best Hugs Ever.  For this card I used the tiny stamps from the stamp set Penguins Wanna Have Fun and created a fun background.  I colored the images with Copic Markers and added lots of stickles glitter glue.  Thanks for stopping by for a peek! Hello there! Michelle here, sharing a quick CAS design using the stamp set Carnation Flower Garden, and it's Coordinating Die. I colored the flowers with Copic Markers in shades R22, R24, R59 (petals); G09, G29 (stems, leaves). Next, I die cut the sentiment word, Happy Birthday Word Topper Die, using black cardstock. I embossed the lower portion of the die with a sentiment from the stamp set, Word Die Topper Subtitles.  I adhered the the flowers and word topper die cuts with some Extra Wide Foam. That's all for today, pretty short and sweet! I hope you enjoy! Michelle

Aries girl with Michelle

by Michelle Lupton on Jan 19 2022
This month's release from Picket Fence Studios includes a new addition to the Zodiac Girls series, Aries Girl. I decided to use red and black as my colour palette because the colour associated with the zodiac sign Aries is red. Aries is also ruled by the planet Mars, and Mars is the god of war, and is also associated with red. However, I did not use any red alcohol ink in the background. I used black alcohol ink, smoulder alcohol pearl (which is a bronze/brown colour) and Stirling alcohol alloy ink (the silver). The red colour at the top and bottom edge came from the black ink separatinng into its component colours. I coloured Aries Girl with Copic markers.   Thanks for visiting :)

Happy Birthday Aquarius Girl with Erica

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Nov 23 2021
Hi guys! It’s Erica back on the Picket Fence Studios blog and today I have a blog post AND a video! Oh yes, so make sure to check out the Picket Fence Studios YouTube channel as well.  First of I have stamped the Aquarius Girl on Copic friendly paper, with the Black Hybrid ink, with the help of my Mini MISTI. I have used greys and blues for the colouring, to give her a mermaid/ethereal look. In the video I go through my colouring process, and how to achieve a more 3D look on faces.  With the colouring done, I used the coordinating diecut to cut her out, as well as another three layers. These have been layered up with liquid adhesive and then I set this aside.  My background is an already made panel, in blues of course. I have splattered this with black splatters, as well as some gold splatters. This is made by mixing up Daffodil Yellow and Golden Rose Paper Glaze with water, to create a liquid water colour. If you do this, make sure to only make as much as you need as it doesn’t keep.  The sentiment is two diecuts, one is the Happy Birthday Word Topper as well as the Aquarius from the Aquarius Girl coordinating die. Naturally, I couldn’t help myself from adding some bling to the card but I managed to restrain myself to just the earrings. These are Celebration Gem Mix stones.  That’s it from me for today, thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this post and the card, and make sure to check out the YouTube video as well! Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica  PS Don't forget to take advantage of the Black Friday Sale, especially if you have been keeping your eye on some goodies from Picket Fence! Now is the time to treat yourself, with 20% off your order with the code FRIDAY21!

Capricorn Girl with Michelle

I'm continuing on with my series of Zodiac Girl Cards - this month, the new stamp and matching die is Capricorn Girl. I coloured her with Copic markers and popped her onto a grey and purple stenciled background. I decided she needed a little pizazz, so I added some of the new Silver Bells Paper Glitz to her horns, her eyelids and her earrings. I also mixed some with water and splattered it in the background.     Thanks for visiting :)

Libra Girl with Larisa

by Larisa Hohman on Jun 02 2021
Hello!  Today, I'm sharing a fun zodiac card!  This is Libra Girl.  As a libra myself, I knew I can to create a card with her.  To begin, I started with a piece of white card stock and trimmed it to fit my A2 sized card.  Then I used the middle tone of the NEW Paper Glaze Ombre Sky Blues to create a beautiful stenciled design across the paper.  I let that dry for an hour or so and worked on my stamped image.  I colored her up with Copics, and die cut the image using a large circle die in my stash.  Then I placed it on top of my stenciled design and added a stamped sentiment across the bottom.  I think this would make such a fun birthday card for that special Libra in you life!   Copic Colors: Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04, R20 Hair: Y21, Y26, E87 Blue: B00, B02 Products Used: Fancy Congratulations Sentiments Fancy Congratulations Sentiments Coordinating Dies Libra Girl Paper Glaze Ombre- Sky Blues Mixed Media Spatulas Black Hybrid Ink Center Flower Stencil  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Zodiac girls with Michelle

by Michelle Lupton on May 14 2021
Happy release day! Two of the brand new stamps released today are zodiac signs - Libra Girl and Virgo Girl. I went with a gold theme for Virgo Girl. I coloured her with Copic markers, giving her blonde hair and a gold background (using the Coloring Book Stencil and Distress Oxide Inks).  I added some sparkle to her hair and earrings, too. I finished the cards with a sentiment from Fancy Sentiments. For my 2nd card, I used the Centre Flower Stencil with one of the new Paper Glaze trios. I coloured the girl with Copic markers again, and finished with her zodiac sign white embossed onto black cardstock.  These are the Copic markers I used for these two images:   Make sure you check out the entire release - it's a great one, with a lot of variety - something for everyone! I've linked all of the new products below. Thanks for visiting :)

Rainbow birthday card with Michelle

by Michelle Lupton on Apr 23 2021
Hello! Michelle here today to share a rainbow card I made using products from this month's release. I inked this card in a most unusual way! I had a very, VERY old ink pad that had a rainbow of colours on a series of little foam pads. The foam had degraded so much that the pad was unusable, so I swiped the pad over some card bases and then scraped the degraded foam off the surface with a stencil scraping tool. (You could achieve the same look by masking off stripes and ink blending heavily with a rainbow inks)  I then placed the Details of a Wing stencil over the rainbow card and added white pigment ink using a Life Changing Blender brush.  I then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Inside Quotes: Birthday set in black ink, and adhered a thin strip of black cardstock to cover up the edge of the inked portion of the card. Thanks for visiting :)

A Merry Christmas Walk and More

by Angela Bode on Dec 25 2020
Hello, everyone!  Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate and Happy Everything to those who simply celebrate the every day!   After enjoying a celebration meal it's always nice to take a walk so I created a fun scene with park-goers doing just that!    First, I created an outdoor scene with the Slimline Die Cutting system.  I layered the tree die cut for a fun film strip-type scene.  After cutting the trees, I stamped warm colors using a ink and a paper towel.  Next, I sponged the clouds with Life Changing Blender Brushes and the Slimline Cloud Coverage Stencil.  I stamped the characters from the More Walk in the Park set and die cut them with the Coordinating Dies.   Here is a close up of the Red Hat Society Ladies. In this scene we have a dog walker meeting a cat!  You know I had to include that cat!  And in the bottom square we have a couple of friends sharing an ice cream treat.  I think they are enjoying a Christmas walk somewhere warm!   Next up, I have a tip to share when using the Slimline Die Cutting System.  Don't toss the die cut squares and circles when using the Die Cutting System!  They can be used as design elements in future projects as I did with this card.  First, I blended ink with the Life Changing Blender Brushes and the Slimline Waves Stencil.  Next, I colored the Leaves For Flowers and die cut them out with the Coordinating Die.  I grabbed one of the circles I have saved from previous Slimline Die Cutting System layouts and stamped the birthday sentiment from Do Good Recklessly.  Did you know that Picket Fence Studios now carries the MISTI?  The MISTI is one tool I can't do without.  I use it for every project!  I hope you enjoyed viewing samples featuring the December Release!  You can find the entire December Release HERE! Thanks for stopping by!

Hello!  Larisa here and today, I have two very bright and very colorful scene cards to share with you!  For my first card, I paired A Walk in the Park with Bugville.  I stamped out my park scene and masked it off.  Then I stamped Bugville in the background.  I colored up the scene with copics and trimmed it to fit my A2 size card.  Then I stenciled in my sun with distress inks.  A very vibrant way to say, "hello!" For my second card, I used the Slimline Die cutting system and cut 2 birch tree panel from the center.  Then I stenciled in some clouds and stamped my grass on a separate piece of paper.  I trimmed that to fit behind my card panel and adhered the two pieces together.  Then I mounted that on a piece of teal card stock.  I stamped out my flower and leaf images on Copic-friendly card stock and colored them up.  Then I die cut them out using the coordinating dies and popped them on top of my card front.  The "happy birthday" sentiment across the top finishes it off.   Products Used: A Walk in the Park Clear Stamp A Walk in the Park Coordinating Die Corner Sun Stencil  Slimline Cloud Coverage Stencil Black Hybrid Ink Life Changing Blender Brushes Slim Line Die Cutting System Bugville Clear Stamp Set A2 Tall Grass and Waves with Tiles and Wood Floors Leaves for Flowers Clear Stamp Set Leaves for Flowers Coordinating Dies Beautiful Girl Flowers Beautiful Girl Flowers Coordinating Die Gin and Tonic Sequin Mix Do Good Recklessly Clear Stamp Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Seamless Stamps with Larisa

Hello, hello!  Larisa here and today, I'm sharing two more cards featuring a couple of the new seamless stamps from the September Release.  Be sure to hop over to the shop and check out all the new goodies!   For my first card, I used the NEW All Wired Seamless Stamp!  How fun is this!  I only stamped it one time for my project, but the really cool thing about these seamless stamps is that the match up perfectly and you can stamp them multiple times to create a background in whatever size you want!  For my card, I stamped it once, trimmed it into a square and mounted it on a piece of black card stock.  I colored it up with my Copic Markers and added a few highlights with my white gel pen.  I thought this background would coordinate well with BFF Claire.  So I colored her up, cut her out with the coordinating dies, and popped her on top of my card using foam tape.  Then I added a "happy birthday" sentiment from the Kylee Boo Stamp Set.  I just love how this turned out!  Such a fun way to say, "happy birthday."  All Wired Seamless Stamp BFF Claire Bundle- Stamp and Die Kylee Boo Stamp Black Hybrid Ink Pad For my next card, I used the NEW Sweater Pattern Maker Stamp.  This is another seamless stamp that matches up perfectly when you stamp it multiple times.  For my card, I stamped it twice.  You can't even tell.  It really is seamless!  I decided to pair it with the Jill Girl Stamp.  I stamped her out first, masked her off and then stamped my background on top.  I kept things classic and stamped the pattern in black on white card stock.  Then I trimmed it into a rectangle and mounted it to the front of my card base.  I removed the mask and colored the image up with Copics.  For the sentiment, I used the NEW Fancy Christmas Sentiments Set.  I stamped my sentiment on a chunky piece of black card stock and heat embossed it in white.  Then I added it to the bottom of my card, and there you have it, one warm and cozy holiday card.  Sweater Pattern Maker Stamp Jill Girl Stamp Fancy Christmas Sentiments Stamp Black Hybrid Ink Pad Thank you so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a great day!!!

Cake Is Important To A Happy Life!

by Becky Roberts on Apr 24 2020
Hi stampers, Becky Roberts here from Inking Idaho. Who loves cake?  It seems like I've been cooking non stop lately with everyone home and I've made a few cakes the last month. My family loves dessert!!  I like cake but not as much as I love coloring cakes, so today I have three cards to share featuring cake and images from the Let's Decorate Stamp Set. I have colored the images with Copic Markers and used the dies to cut them out.  The cake is popped up on Foam Squares. Let's Decorate Stamp Set         Let's Decorate Dies I made the backgrounds using Distress Oxide ink and Picket Fence Studios Life Changing Blender Brushes. Have you tried these yet?  They make ink blending so smooth and easy! These will make perfect birthday cards; I can't wait to send them to friends.  You will love the Let's Decorate set and dies for your celebrations too.  If you make some, tag me on Instagram so I can see! Funky Leaves Stencil cards, two ways, with Erica

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Mar 03 2020
Hi guys!  It's Erica back on the PFS Blog today. I've used the Funky Leaves Stencil, in two different ways. Ok, so the cards both started out the same way but I finished them off differently and I got very fun results.  To start with I sprayed the Funky Leaves Stencil with Pixie Spray to make sure it stays in one place so I get clean straight lines. Then, armed with a Life Changing Blender Brush and some inks (Mountain Mist from Altenew and Goddess Green from Ink On 3) I blended a panel each with each colour. Not all over, oh no, my ombré obsession is going nowhere fast.  On the Mountain Mist panel I then went back in with the Embossing Pad from WOW! Embossing and on top of that I sprinkled Aquamarine Glitter Powder. This I set with the dual heat gun on the lowest setting, from underneath the panel, to keep the glitter in place. I also trimmed this panel down a little bit.  I didn't want to cover up all that gorgeous glitter too much so what to do? I heat embossed the Happy Birthday from Fancy Sentiment on a strip of vellum, in Platinum embossing powder and then wrapped this around the panel.  This I adhered to a light grey card base and with that card no1 was done.  Card no2, done with the Goddess Green ink, I did the same Happy Birthday sentiment for. Also in Platinum, on vellum. After wrapping the sentiment strip around the background I adhered the whole thing to a card base.  To give this one a bit more interest, I added lots of Nuvo Jewel Drops in Key Lime. I used the leaf shape and added drops of different sizes to them and then set the card aside to dry.  Which one is your favourite? The one with glitter or the one with texture?  Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed these cards and will try one of these techniques yourself. Don't forget to tag @picketfencestudios in your posts when you show off your creations!  That's it from me!Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica

Happy Day with Karen Reátegui

by Karen Reategui on Jan 09 2020
Hello friends! Today I’m up at Picket Fence Studios Blog sharing this birthday card using 4 different colors of foils to use with the Picket Fence Studios Happy Day Foiled Impression and Cutting Die. Additionally, for the background I used Points of Interest Stencil and One Year Older Stamp for the sentiment.   Let’s start! I placed the Picket Fence Studios Points of Interest Stencil on top of a white panel and applied Distress Oxide inks using Life Changing Blender Brushes. I removed the stencil and let the panel dry. In the next picture you will see the inks used on this card.  Once the panel was dry, I trimmed down a little bit the edges and adhered a white card base at the back.  Next, using the Gemini Foilpress machine I foiled the Happy Day Foiled Impression Die 4 times with different colors of foil. Then, I die cut all the pieces using the coordinating dies. I stamped on my panel the Happy Birthday sentiment from Picket Fence Studios One Year Older Stamp Set using Hybrid Black ink and heat embossed it using WOW! Embossing Powder.  Finally, I added all die cuts on top of the background using foam double sided tape and a few sequins and this card was done.  Thank you so much for stopping by and have a marvelous day!!! Karen
