Happy 12th Birthday

by Brenda Noelke on Jun 17 2024
Hello, fellow crafters!! Brenda here with you today!! I hope you had a great weekend!! I'm sharing a card today featuring a few goodies from the new June release combined with several older products!! My niece will be 12 in December and she loves purple, so this will be prefect for her!! I started by stamping the cupcake from the Sweet Holiday Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored it with Copic markers, added dots to the stamen with a white gel pen, then cut it out with the Coordinating Die. I also stamped the "12" candles from the Blow Out the Candles Stamp Set onto white cardstock with purple die ink and cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. For the background, I stenciled the Sprinkles 6x8 Layering Stencils onto white cardstock using dye inks and blender brushes, then die-cut it with the middle sized arched die in the Basic Die-cutting Die Set 1. I die-cut a frame from pink cardstock using the smallest and middle dies from the same die set. The sprinkled panel and frame were adhered to a card front from the Birthday Bash Fabulous Foiling A2 Card Fronts pack. The cupcake and candles were adhered with liquid glue. For the sentiment, I die-cut "birthday" three times from white cardstock and once from black cardstock using the Happy Birthday Word Die Set. I used a Pint-size Paper Pouncer to pounce one of the white layers with purple dye ink. All of the layers were adhered together with liquid glue, slightly offsetting the black layer, then adhered across the cupcake liner. "Happy" is also from the Sweet Holiday Stamp Set. It was stamped onto white cardstock with purple ink and cut out with the Coordinating Die. Another layer was die-cut from black ink. They were adhered together with the black layer offset and popped up with black foam tape. Sound Waves Gems were adhered to the top of the candles and around the sentiment to finish off the card. Thanks so much for spending a bit of your Monday with me!! Have a great week!! Brenda

Hello Sunshine!

by Colleen Balija on Jun 07 2024
Hi friends! Today I want to share an easy way to add a bright colorful background to your focal point using patterned paper! My card today will use NEW May release products Blooming Trumpet Flower stamp and die, Hello to You word die, Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts in Happy Gingham and Sweet Gingham, and Gradient Flatback Pearls. First, I stamped the flowers from Blooming Trumpet Flowers stamp and colored them with my alcohol markers. Then I die cut the flowers and a few leaves and set them aside. Next, I focused on the background using the new and fun patterned paper in Happy Gingham and Sweet Gingham! I trimmed the green gingham to 5.25x4.0 and placed it over a piece of white cardstock sized 5.5x4.25. Then I trimmed a small rectangle on my deckled paper trimmer using the black gingham. I placed that over the green gingham to the left side of the card panel.  Once that was finished, I adhered the Trumpet flowers over the black gingham, offset a bit so you could see the gingham peeking out from behind. Then I added the Hello die that was cut using mirrored black cardstock and finished with the sentiment "Sunshine" from the Blooming Trumpet Flowers stamp set.  I completed the card with Gradient Pearls over the stamins!  I'm so pleased with how this turned out, thanks to the Gingham patterned paper! Mixed Media Stencil Inspiration

by Andrea Shell on Jun 06 2024
Hello, again! It's Andrea back with a pair of ocean-themed cards featuring two stencils from Picket Fence Studios' latest release. The inspiration for these cards came directly from the stencils I used, which were Make the World Shimmer A2 Stencil and Rainbow Dreams 6"x8" Stencil. The swirls in the Rainbow Dreams Stencil (card on the right) reminded me of waves, and the theme for these cards was born. Let's start with the easier card, shall we? I don't think I have ever stenciled over patterned paper before, but I love how this card turned out! That beautiful background is from the Magical Seas Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts pack. To my chosen patterned paper, I applied Paper Glaze Luxe: Twinkle Lights Gold through the Make the World Shimmer A2 Stencil. Once that was dry, I trimmed down the panel slightly and adhered it to a white card. That large "you" is from the Hello to You Word Dies. First, I created the teal paper by applying Paper Glaze Velvet: Ocean Odyssey Tropical Cocktail to white cardstock. Once the glaze was dry, I diecut "you" from the teal paper once and from white cardstock three times. I stacked the diecuts, offsetting the teal layer to create a highlight, and glued the diecuts to my card. I finished with a sub-sentiment from the Animal Crackers: You Deserve to be Spoiled stamp set. My second card features the Rainbow Dreams 6"x8" Stencil combined with the Seahorses of the Sea stamp set. Does the stencil remind you of waves, too? First, I diecut a panel of white cardstock with the Pinking Shear A2 Cover Plate Die and masked the edges with low-tack tape. After placing the Rainbow Dreams Stencil over the panel, I applied a couple shades of distess oxides with the Life Changing Blender Brushes. I removed the stencil and went over the panel with the same inks for a softer look. Next, I added Paper Splatter in the colors of Liquid Forest Green and White Snowflake to the panel and removed the masks. For my focal point, I chose the large seahorse from the Seahorses of the Sea stamp set. I colored him with Copics, added some white highlights, and cut him out with the coordinating dies. I painted white cardstock with the Liquid Forest Green Paper Splatter and diecut some foliage with the Layering Flora: Leaves and Twigs Dies. I attached the seahorse to my card with foam tape and tucked in the foliage. I heat-embossed a sentiment from the Swanky Sentiments: Sympathy stamp set, diecut it with the coordinating dies, and popped it up with a strip of foam tape. Finally, I added some teal sequins from the Tropical Breeze sequin mix. Thanks for stopping by! *Affiliate links used at no cost to you.

by Brenda Noelke on Jun 05 2024
Hello, crafty friends!! I hope you are all doing well!! Brenda here with a thank you card featuring the gorgeous Blooming Trumpet Flowers Stamp Set, along with a few other goodies from the latest May release!! I began by stamping the flower and leaves from the Blooming Trumpet Flowers Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored them with Copic markers, added dots to the stamen with a yellow gel pen, then cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. Next, I die-cut a panel of white cardstock with the smallest die in the A2 Rectangle Layering Die Set. I stenciled Paper Glaze Luxe: Twinkle Lights - Purple onto the panel through the You Make the World Shimmer A2 Stencil with a palette knife. Once dry, it was adhered to a panel of purple gingham cardstock from the Sweet Gingham Fabulous Glossy Cardstock Pack. The sentiment, also from the Blooming Trumpet Flowers Stamp Set, was white heat embossed onto black cardstock. The sentiment, flowers and leaves were all popped up with foam tape. Sequins from the Razzle Dazzle and All About the Purple sequin mixes finish off the card. Thank you so much for stopping by today!! Have a fabulous Wednesday!! Brenda

Vintage Floral Delight

by Colleen Balija on May 30 2024
Hi friends! I love to create vintage cards combined with flowers! It might be my favorite style of cardmaking! Today I want to share one such vintage card using new products from the May release! I'll be using She Endured 6x6 stamp set, Swanky Sympathy Sentiments stamp, black and gold liquid splatters, Tangerine and Sunshine Yellow pearls, and Blooming Trumpet Flowers stamp!  First, I stamped She Endured 6x6 background stamp onto white cardstock using black ink. Then I trimmed the white card panel with my deckled paper trimmer and adhered it over a black panel that was slightly larger and also trimmed with the deckled paper trimmer. Both layers were adhered to a white card base sized 5.5x4.25. Then I added both black and gold liquid splatters over the panel.  In the photo above, you can see how the splatter compliments the print from the 6x6 stamp, yet it doesn't take away from the beauty of this stamp! I set the panel aside to allow the splatters to dry and focused on the large flower from Blooming Trumpet stamp set. I stamped the floral image in permanent black ink onto a white card panel and colored it with my Copic markers in shades of pink for the flowers and green for the leaves. I added a bit of shading detail with my colored pencils as well. Then I die cut the flower and adhered it over the background panel. I finished with a sentiment from Swanky Sympathy sentiments and then added Tangerine and Sunshine Yellow pearls over the flowers and beneath the sentiment!  I thoroughly enjoyed creating this card with the new May release goodies! And the liquid splatters are always a hit with me! To shop the products used in this post, click on the description of each to be linked to the Picket Fence Studios shop! Thanks for stopping by!
