What's the difference between our Fabulously Glossy and Fabulous Foiling Cardstock?

Examples using Fabulous Glossy A2 Panels

Use Fabulously Glossy A2 panels for a variety of backgrounds! I love using mine as mat and layers. The first card uses  Happy Gingham Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts for a beautiful background panel under the large sunflower stamp.

Some Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts are premade scenes. These make for quicker background designs and cards! You can find the full tutorial at the end of this post.

Die cut the cardstock for solid colors and patterns.

Fabulously Glossy 8.5" x 11" Card Stock

  • Pack Details: Includes six sheets with a semi-gloss finish featuring beautiful dreamy cloud patterns.

Examples using Fabulous Glossy 8.5" x 11" Cardstock

If you want a slightly larger pattern, you can also use the 8.5" x 11" Fabulously Glossy Cardstock. Here you can see I've used the 8.5x11 Happy Gingham Cardstock.  This pattern is larger than the sunflower card above, but just as beautiful.

Fabulous Foiling Toner Cardstock

Fabulous Foiling Toner 8.5"x11" Cardstock and Fabulous Foiling A2 Card Fronts are designed for direct application of toner foil. Use Toner Foil and Toner Foiling Card Fronts with a Minc, Gina K Fuse, and most laminators. This is NOT hot foiling.

Examples using Fabulous Foiling Toner Card Fronts and Cardstock

Apply toner foil on top of the A2 card front or cardstock with the color side up. Use a carrier sheet to feed it through your foiling machine or laminator. Sometimes it will need a second pass. Wait a few seconds for it to cool off and then you can peel the foil off to reveal your foiled panel!

Some examples using Plenty of Lines A2 Toner Card Fronts and Toner Foil for perfect foiling results! You can have a foiling session to create a ton of backgrounds, ready to use at a later time.

The Flutter Fly A2 Toner Card Fronts have beautiful patterns. When teamed up with Rainbow Foil this turns into a stunning background!

Use Polka Dot Palooza A2 Toner Card Fronts and Foil, and then ink blending for a step up with your designs.

You can use the toner foiling products to create beautiful, two-for-one card backgrounds. Here you can see that I used Autumnal Delights A2 Toner Card fronts and Toner Foil for the right panel and the waste from Panel 1 with Christmas Eve Blues 8.5"x11" Fabulous Foiling Cardstock.

Using Your Foil Waste with Fabulous Foiling Patterned Cardstock

By applying the waste foil from previous projects to the patterned toner cardstock, you can achieve a striking mixed media effect. This technique emphasizes high contrast between the pattern and the foil color, resulting in unique and captivating designs. You can then distress the edges, use paper splatter, paper glazes, stencils and other products to complete your project.

Here is an example when you use a Fabulous Foiling A2 Toner Card Front with toner foil. You get a stunning design that's ready to use!

Keep the waste you've just used and this is where things can get interesting. If you use the waste with the Fabulous Foiling Cardstock that has a pattern on it, you will achieve a really cool, mixed media panel!

Depending on the cardstock pattern used, and if it has lighter areas in the design, the lighter areas will not pick up the toner, so you will have a gorgeous, almost grungy background after using the waste. I love it!

Combining Fabulous Foiling and Fabulously Glossy Products

Here are a few examples of using both product ranges to create gorgeous cards. You'll want to Copic Color the images first, then foil. You can add a stamped sentiment, some gems and then grab the Fab Glossy A2 card panels for a pop of color in the background.

Here's another example, this time using a die for the sentiment. I particularly love the A2 toner card fronts. They take ink well, and have had no issues when using Copic Markers as it's a very smooth white card.

There has been a lot of information for this post, but I also wanted to make two cards that are very similar but use completely different cardstock. The first card uses the Fabulously Glossy A2 Card fronts for a quick card and the other uses Fabulous Foiling A2 Toner Card Fronts for a more detailed design. Both were fun to make, and there's a place in cardmaking for the whole range of cardstock.

CARD TUTORIALS ( the sea is calling for us using) LET'S MAKE CARDS

CARD ONE - Quick Cards with A2 Glossy Card Fronts

If you want some quick cards, then these A2 card fronts are perfect!

1. Select the Fabulously Glossy card front you want to use and adhere it to an A2 card base.
2. Stamp out the sentiment 'the sea is calling for us' from Signature Quotes: The Sea stamp set, and then die cut  using Signature Quotes: The Sea die set, and 10% off stamp and die bundle. Die cut SEA from. Die cut Find me by the Sea word dies.
3. Select sequins, Plant Where you Bloom, and Island Blues

CARD TWO - Fabulous Toner Foil with Additional Details

If you like bling and foil, then these A2 card fronts are for you!

1. Start off with the palm tree and seaside A2 toner card front and then select foils. For this design, I had to cut three different color foils to fit the images I wanted that particular color. For example, I used Pitch Black for the seagulls, Evergreen for the palm trees, and Turquoise Blue Star Burst for the water. You have to take extra care to get the foils in the right position but the end result is totally worth it! How gorgeous does this look!

2. Create a Sandy beach by using Copic Markers: E40, E42, E43, E44 with long swiping brush strokes and stippling.
3. Next use Distress Oxide Inks to create a beautiful summer background with: Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, Abandoned Coral, and Candied Apple. Use Life Changing Blending Brushes for a seamless blend. Gently rub any excess ink of the foiled parts of the card.
5. Spend at least 15 minutes to select the correct sequin mixes - Watermelon Crush, and Tropical Breeze and then glue the panel onto an A2 white card base to finish.
So there you have it! Two cards with our two different types of card stock. I love them both and they each serve a different purpose. There are many other techniques you can do with both of these types of card stock, but this is a fun way to use both.

Thanks for joining me on the blog! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask and I'll do my best to answer as quick as I can.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy crafting!
