Guardian of the Graveyard!

by Rachelle Oltean on Aug 11 2021
Hello! It’s Rachelle and I’ve got a spooky graveyard ‘rocker’ card for you today featuring lots of the amazing Halloween products from the July Release! I began by die cutting a 5” circle from heavy weight black card stock and scoring it in half to create my ‘rocking’ card base. I applied “Lime Christmas Green Paper Glitz” to the bottom half and set it aside to dry. A second 4.75” circle was die cut twice from heavy weight orange card stock, glued together, coated with “Autumn Persimmon Paper Glitz” and set it aside to dry as well. The standing ghost from the “Not Scared? You Should Be!” Stamp Set was heat embossed with white power on heavy vellum and fussy cut. Since there are a lot of small intricate pieces on this gorgeous scene, I die cut the “Halloween Graveyard Cover Plate Die” on heavy black card stock using my metal plate adaptor and it cut perfectly! I backed the windows in the haunted house with lime green card stock to coordinate with my Paper Glitz, heat embossed the sassy sentiment and added some sequins from the “Trick Or Treaters” Sequins Mix Plus. To assemble, I reinforced the score line on the ‘rocking’ card base with my Teflon Bone Folder and attached the orange Paper Glitz circle with Scor-Tape. After determining the ghost’s position, it was adhered in place onto the orange backdrop and the graveyard die cut panel was attached on top with foam tape and liquid adhesive. A couple of tiny die cut bats (from the Witch Slim Line Die Cutting System Insert) were added to finish up the card! I just love this interactive design and that giant ghost guarding the graveyard as it rocks from side to side! Thanks so much for joining me today and happy crafting! Rachelle

Hello!  Larisa here and today, I'm bringing you a bright and colorful card featuring the Beautiful Girl Eiko Girl Clear Stamp Set! To create my card, I started with some colorful patterned paper in my stash and trimmed it to fit the front of my A2 sized card panel.  Then I stamped out the BUZZ 4x4 Seamless Stamp, colored it with Copics, and die cut it using a large circle die in my stash.  I layered that on top of a bright blue doily and adhered them both to the center of my card.  Next, I stamped out the Eiko Girl image, colored her with Copics, and cut her out using the coordinating die.  Using foam tape, I added her to the center of the card and layered up some patterned paper strips behind her.  A big bold sentiment across the center finished it off.   Products Used: Eiko Girl Stamp Set Eiko Girl Coordinating Die Buzz 4x4 Seamless Stamp Favorite Notification Stamp Black Hybrid Ink Pad Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy Crafting!

CAS Paper Glitz Nativity Scene with Rachelle

Hello! It’s Rachelle here and I’ve got a CAS Christmas Card to share with you today featuring Paper Glitz blending and the NEW Nativity Slim Line Die Cutting System Insert! This card would be so easy to mass produce and the two-toned Paper Glitz background is perfect against this peaceful die cut nativity scene. I began by spreading quarter-sized dollops of “Snow Drifts” and “Fall Golds” Paper Glitz onto a piece of 100# white card stock. I ran my offset palette knife across it several times to soften the edge where the two colors met. There was a bit of color blending in that area and that’s the effect I was going for in this scene. Here’s a shot of the Paper Glitz panel once it was dry – that shine is amazing! I cut a 4” x 5.25” panel of white card stock and centered the Nativity Insert Die into the top portion using my clear ruler to finalize the position. Once the interior pieces were removed from the die cut, I heat embossed the large sentiment from the “Joyeux Noel” Stamp Set underneath the scene with gold powder. I love all the different fonts in this large sentiment set – there’s something for every single winter occasion! I backed the Nativity scene with a small piece of the Paper Glitz panel, allowing the gold area to highlight the figures inside of the stable and then blend up to the turquoise night sky. This panel was backed with a piece of craft foam for dimension and attached to the center of a top-folding A2 card base. Using one of the smaller dies that comes with the Nativity Insert Die Set, I cut a Christmas star from the “Fall Golds” Paper Glitz area and attached it to the card front above the scene to finish up the card.   Thanks so much for joining me today and head over the Picket Fence Studios' Shop to check out all of the other amazing products from the latest release! Happy crafting and have a wonderful day! Rachelle

Hello! It's Michelle here today, and I'm sharing a card I made using a die, a stencil, a sequin mix and Paper Glitz. I used Distress Oxide inks to create the sunset in the background, and then used part of the Handcut Snowflake 6x6 Stencil and some Paper Glitz Sparkle to create the pattern in the sky. I used the Santa's Snowy Hills die to create the three tiers of snowy hills, and ink blended with some blue ink to create dimension between them. I finished with a stamped sentiment, and some snowflake shaped sequins from the Icicles sequin mix. Have you seen our 7 in 7 event on Facebook? We have 7 free classes over 7 days! Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing this slimline card featuring the new Cattails Die, Pond Scenery Stamp and dies, Drop by to Say Bye Croak Stamp and dies and Slimline Trees Silhouette Cover Plate Die. Let's start this tutorial! I die cut a piece of cardstock using the Slim Line Die Cutting System and applied ink using the Life Changing Blender Brushes and once it was dry I adhered a slimline folded card base at the back.  Then, I stamped the images from Drop by to Say Bye Croak Stamp and Pond Scenery Stamps using Gingerbread hybrid ink from Scrapbook.com and I colored them with Copic markers. I die cut these images using the coordinating dies.  Additionally, I die cut the  Cattails Die out of white cardstock and colored it using Copic markers. Next, I stamped the sentiment using Black hybrid ink from Picket Fence Studios on my background panel. Also, I placed the Cattails and the Pond Scenery image die cuts previously colored on the panel as well using glue. Finally, I die cut the Trees Silhouette Cover Plate three times to create more dimension and glued them one on top of each other. I applied inks to the cover plate using the Life Changing Blender Brushes and placed it on top of my background panel, then I added the frogs around and this slimline card was finished.   Hope you like this card and get some inspiration. List of supplies are found at the bottom. Have a wonderful weekend!  Your friend, Karen

Dandelion Delight and Shimmer Powder

by Sandi MacIver on May 28 2021
Hey cardmaking friends, welcome back, it's Sandi MacIver here.  Today I have a Picket Fence Studios Dandelion Delight and Shimmer Powder card to share with you and the Embossed Resist Technique which is a fast and fun way to create fabulous backgrounds on your cards. Shimmer Powders are from Tonic Studios and come in a dozen beautiful colors.  For today's card I used the Falling Leaves and Blue Blitz. Dig around in your stash, you may have some Brusho that was hugely popular a few years back.  If you do, the Turquoise, Russian Blue and Leaf Green will give you the same effect as the card I'm sharing today. Tips to create the Picket Fence Studios Dandelion Delight and Shimmer Powder Card:  Cut a piece of watercolor paper larger than 4-1/2 x 6-1/2 finished piece needed. Place the watercolor paper into the Misti and stamp the two Dandelion Delight stamps with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Cover the stamped image with White Embossing Powder, shake off the excess and heat set. Tape the art piece down to a core board (stiff board used for watercoloring to keep wet paper flat). Lay the art piece onto the Waffle Flowers Water Media Mat to help protect your work surface. Spritz the surface of the art piece and lightly sprinkle the Falling Leaves and Blue Blitz Shimmer Powders. Use a wet paint brush to move the color around, and/or pick up the hard board and tilt it to move the color around. Add more water and shimmer powder as required.   Finishing the card: Cut the art piece down to 4-1/2 x 6-1/2Mount it to a 4-5/8 x 6-5/8 mat BlueAttach to a top folding  white card base finished size 5 x 7Stamp the sentiment front the stamp set in black onto a scrap of white and cut it out.Attach it to the card front in the bottom right corner with foam squares Embellishing the card: Picket Fence studios Oceans of Green Gem Mix is the perfect color embellishment.Add a sprinkle of them across the top of the piece in between the seed pods. Happy Wednesday! It's Ceal here. Today I am sharing a card using the Tropical Hibiscus Bouquet stamp set.  To create this card I started with a white top folding card base, a black panel and a white heavystock panel for the image. I stamped the image with our black hybrid ink and then watercolored it using Karin markers. I love how these watercolor markers have so much pigment and are so bright.  For the greeting I used a sentiment from the More Fancy Sentiments stamp set stamped in versamark ink on black and then embossed with white powder. I used the More Fancy Sentiments die to cut it out.  Supply List with affiliate links at no extra cost to you.

Zodiac girls with Michelle

by Michelle Lupton on May 14 2021
Happy release day! Two of the brand new stamps released today are zodiac signs - Libra Girl and Virgo Girl. I went with a gold theme for Virgo Girl. I coloured her with Copic markers, giving her blonde hair and a gold background (using the Coloring Book Stencil and Distress Oxide Inks).  I added some sparkle to her hair and earrings, too. I finished the cards with a sentiment from Fancy Sentiments. For my 2nd card, I used the Centre Flower Stencil with one of the new Paper Glaze trios. I coloured the girl with Copic markers again, and finished with her zodiac sign white embossed onto black cardstock.  These are the Copic markers I used for these two images:   Make sure you check out the entire release - it's a great one, with a lot of variety - something for everyone! I've linked all of the new products below. Thanks for visiting :)

Celebrate Texture

by Angela Bode on Apr 30 2021
Hello!  Happy Friday to you!   Today, I am over at Splitcoaststampers hosting a "texture" challenge.   To create my texture I mixed Golden Rose Paper Glaze with Paper Glaze Enhancer.  I love how easy it is to spread the mixture through the Slimline Broken Fence Stencil!  I used both the SLDC Scallop Frame Dies and the SLDC Nested Rectangle Dies for layering.  The SLDC Systems include so many dies that it makes them great buys!  As an example, the "celebrate" die is included in the Scallop Set! See the photo link at the bottom of this post for the list of dies included in these sets! For a fun embellishment, I die-cut Maple Leaves and painted them with Golden Rose Paper Glaze mixed with water for a little "gold leafing".  Lastly, I sprinkled a few Purple-Rita Sequins.   Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Slimline Tree Scenery

by Sandi MacIver on Apr 28 2021
Hey crafty friends, Sandi here with a new Slimline Tree Scenery card for you.  I love Picket Fence Studios Slimline Die collection and when the new inserts came out this month I just had to give them a go along with a few other new goodies of course. The Tree Scenery Slim Line Die Cutting System insert was my first choice with it's beautiful branches and tiny little bunny dies that I just had to include. Card Details: Start by die cutting the smaller rectangle as your card front. Use the Details of a Wing Slim Line Stencil and blend Distress Oxide Inks in Speckled Egg, Evergreen Bough and Black Soot to get a light background effect. Next, splatter it with white and gold ink. Cut the tree out of the slimline piece and cut it again from watercolor paper. Using Gansai Tambi watercolors, color the tree adding teals, purples greens and pinks. Once dry, cut the circle away from the water colored tree and glue the tree over the one on the card. Matt the art piece i  coordinating purple before attaching to the white card base. Embellishing the Card: Use the circle die from the Slim line Scallop Framed Dies  - to cut the gold circle outline which is inlaid around the tree. (these new inlaid dies are fabulous for card highlights and there are hearts in this set as well). Glue on gems from the new Reflections Gem Mix.  This is where I got the colors for the tree, therefore, they coordinating beautifully. The Sentiment: Gold heat emboss the sentiment from the NEW Fancy Daily Sentiments onto a piece of black cardstock and die cut it out with the coordinating die set. Use small pieces of foam tape to attach it to the left side of the card. I love the dramatic feel of this card, hope you do too.   used for the Picket Fence Studios Slimline Tree Scenery card: Want to find the products I used?  I have them listed below.  Compensated affiliate links used at no cost to you. Hello Everyone! It's Ceal. Today I am sharing a zen card with you using two of the  new slimline inserts. To create this card I started with a white slimline card base and a panel of white heavystock cut down with the SLDCS Nested Rectangles.  I cut out the Tree Insert in the center of the panel and then cut out the Mushroom Insert on both sides.  I watercolored all three using Daniel Smith watercolors and added the panel to the base.  To finish the card I added a sentiment from the Early Tulips set.

Rainbow birthday card with Michelle

by Michelle Lupton on Apr 23 2021
Hello! Michelle here today to share a rainbow card I made using products from this month's release. I inked this card in a most unusual way! I had a very, VERY old ink pad that had a rainbow of colours on a series of little foam pads. The foam had degraded so much that the pad was unusable, so I swiped the pad over some card bases and then scraped the degraded foam off the surface with a stencil scraping tool. (You could achieve the same look by masking off stripes and ink blending heavily with a rainbow inks)  I then placed the Details of a Wing stencil over the rainbow card and added white pigment ink using a Life Changing Blender brush.  I then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Inside Quotes: Birthday set in black ink, and adhered a thin strip of black cardstock to cover up the edge of the inked portion of the card. Hello!  Today, I'm sharing a vibrant, floral card using Beautiful Girl Sierra!  This stamp is gorgeous and I had so much fun coloring her up!  To begin, I stamped her out in tan ink and colored her up using the no-line coloring technique.  Then I die cut her out using the coordinating die.  For the background, I used the NEW Beautiful Girls Flower Wreath.  I stamped it out, colored it up with Copics, and trimmed it to fit my A2 sized card.  Then I added my Sierra image to the center of the wreath using some foam tape.  For the flowers in her hair, I wanted them to pop.  So I added some of the roses from the Beautiful Girls Flower set.  Then I stamped out my sentiment, cut it out with the coordinating die, and popped it across the bottom of my card using foam tape.  Some Stickles glitter over the flower images finishes this card off.  Products Used: Black Hybrid Ink Beautiful Girls Flower Wreath Fancy Daily Sentiments Fancy Daily Sentiments Coordinating Die Beautiful Girls- Sierra Beautiful Girls Sierra Coordinating Die Beautiful Girl Flowers Beautiful Girl Flowers Coordinating Die

Hi friends! Today I’m over Picket Fence Studios blog showing this slimline card featuring the new Cats are Family Stamp and dies, Scallop Frame Slimline Dies and Slimline Details of a Wing Stencil.   Let’s begin! I placed the Slimline Details of a Wing Stencil on top of a white cardstock an using a Life Changing Blender Brush I applied Lawn Fawn Manatee ink. Then, I used one of the scallop frame to die cut the cardstock using my Gemini Jr. Additionally, using one of the circle die from the Slimline Die Cutting System I die cut the scalloped frame.   I placed a Neenah Desert Storm panel underneath the scalloped panel using glue. At this point, I needed to stamp the sentiment from the same stamp Cats are Family and using Black Hybrid ink.   Finally, I stamped two images from Cats are Family Stamp using Gingerbread Hybrid ink onto a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White. I colored them using Copic markers and then I die cut them with them coordinating dies. Also, a white folded slimline card was adhered at the back using glue and this card was done. I really hope you like this card and give this stamp a try. Have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by! Your friend, Karen

Background Focus

by Angela Bode on Apr 09 2021
Hello!  Happy Friday to you!  Today I am featuring three cards with a focus on the backgrounds!  My first card features the beautiful Slimline Mermaid Scale Stencil.  I ink blended with reactive inks and LC Blending Brushes, then sprinkled with water for a fun splattered look!  I die-cut the whale and small fish with the Mermaids of the Sea Coordinating Die.  The Hello is specially made for the larger slimline size!  Using the Nested Rectangle Slimline Die-Cutting System adds a lovely stitched finish to the layers. Lastly, I randomly sprinkled a few Shark Bite Sequins.    Next, I am featuring the beautiful English Brick Wall 6x6 stencil.  I created a brick wall by ink blending a variety of colors with my LC Blender Brushes.  Next, I stamped and colored a fox from the  Like a Crafty Fox Set. (this set is currently selling at an unbelievable discount! Get him while supplies last!).  I used just the Hey from Hey You Die and then finished off the sentiment by creating a sentiment from the Ways to Express Yourself set.  Lastly, I sprinkled three Fire Gems for a little sparkle! For my last focus on backgrounds. I used the Netting Cover Plate Die.  I also splattered the  background first with Pink Carnation Paper Glaze mixed with water and then Snowdrop White Paper Glaze mixed with water. I decorated the underwater scene with fish from Mermaid of the Sea Coordinating Dies.  I added sea grass from Things on the Sea Floor and the Coordinating Die.  The sentiment is I Love You sentiment and cut it out with the Coordinating Die.  Lastly, I sprinkled a few Purple-Rita Sequins (I just LOVE this mix!).  Last but not least, I created a slimline with I hope you found lots to inspire you today! Hugs! Angie
