Follow your Path

by Ceal Pritchett on Apr 07 2021
Hey Y'all! It's Ceal here. Today I am sharing a couple slimline cards using some of the amazing March products . First up, I created this shaker card using the Fish for Infinity Slimline stencil, some distress inks, sequins and diecuts.  I started by creating a background using distress inks in Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers.  I used the SLDCS to cut a frame for the shaker. I placed the Fish for Infinity stencil down on the base using Pixie Spray and blended Blueprint Sketch distress ink over it. Next I stamped the  sentiment from the Follow Your Path set which happens to be at a great price right now on the background I had created and added it to the front. Next I created the confetti for the shaker, to do this I die cut several of the whales from the Mermaids of the Sea die set in holographic papers and then added some of the Sharkbite Sequin Mix and the Oceans of Green Gem Mix. For my next card I used the Whales & Mermaids Slimline Stencil and some paper glazes.  For this card I started with a background I created using Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch distress inks. After the background was dry I placed the Whales & Mermaids Slimline Stencil down with Pixie Spray. I mixed some of the new Paper Glaze Enhancer with Mint Hydrangea Paper Glaze and spread it across the whale part of the stencil, I also watered down some Artemisia Silver Paper Glaze and added it on top to get the blueish gray color. For underneath I mixed some Artemisia Silver with some glitter.

Two Eye-Catching Cards with Larisa

by Larisa Hohman on Mar 31 2021
Hello!  Larisa here and today, I'm sharing bold and bright cards that are sure to grab your attention.  Both feature products from the new release and both have vivid pops of color that catch your attention!   My first card features the NEW Mail's Here Stamp.  To begin, I stamped out the Raining Envelopes Stamp a couple of times.  This Building Backgrounds stamp is perfect because it lines up perfectly.  You can stamp it and infinite number of times to create any sized background!  I colored my background using a light teal Copic Marker (BG10).  Then I added a strip of red polka dot paper to the bottom and trimmed it to fit my card base.  I also layered the panel on some light grey card stock and trimmed to fit.  For the hello sentiment, I die cut it in bright blue card stock and blue foam.  I adhered the two layers together and added them to the card panel just above the polka dot paper.  I love the dimension this technique adds!  Then, I stamped out the Mail's Here image, colored it up to match, and cut it with the coordinating die.  After adhering that to the panel, I also added "my dear friend" sentiment just below it from the More Fancy Sentiments Stamp set.   For my next card, I decided to create a shaker card using the NEW Purple-Rita Sequin Mix.  I started with a piece of purple card stock and added some tulle to the top of it.  I stitched down the sides with my sewing machine and filled it with my sequins.  Then I used the Netting Cover Plate to cut a piece of white card stock and I adhered that to my card panel only in the center of the card where I knew the glue would be covered.  I stamped out the Lilies For Spring and Kylee Girl images, colored them up, and cut them out using the coordinating dies.  I layered them on top of my card panel using foam tape and a bit of hot glue to make sure they were stuck down well.  My sentiment from the Job Well Done Set finishes it off!   Products Used: Mail's Here Mail's Here Coordinating Die Raining Envelopes Kylee Girl Kylee Girl Coordinating Die Purple-Rita Sequin Mix Lillies For Spring Lilies For Spring Coordinating Die Job Well Done More Fancy Sentiments Clear Stamp More Fancy Sentiments Die Netting Cover Plate Die Slim Line Oversized Hello Word Die   Gem Pick Up Tool Black Hybrid Ink Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Hello! It's Michelle here to share a card using a colour scheme I usually associate with Christmas! The white card base is inked with some green ink over the Triple Weave stencil. I added a  strip of green cardstock from my stash and then stamped the sentiment. I stamped and coloured the dragonfruit with Copic markers, before cutting them out and arranging them on the card front. Thanks for visiting :)

Hello!  Larisa here!  Today, I'm bringing you Beautiful Girl Madelyn with some retro vibes.  Picket Fence Studios has some of the most beautiful stamps out there!  I just love creating with the Beautiful Girls Line.   To create my card, I started with some patterned paper and trimmed it to fit the front of my card. Then I layered that on top of some lime green paper and adhered it to my card base.  Then I stamped out my image, colored her up with Copics and cut her out using the coordinating die.  I centered her on my card panel and added some die cut music notes around her.  Then I die cut and layered up the "hey you" word die in coordinating colors.  To give it some dimension, I layered it on top of some foam and then added it just below my image.  The "break a leg" sentiment from the NEW Ways To Express Yourself Set finishes it off.   , Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy Crafting! Happy Day with Karen Reategui

by Karen Reategui on Mar 03 2021
Hello friends! I hope you all are doing good and healthy. Today I'm sharing this slimline card featuring the new Slimline Nested Rectangles Dies that comes with this wonderful word dies: Happy, Day, Get Well and Lovely. All of them have the matching shadow dies too. So for this card I used the Coloring Book Stencil, Oak Leaves Die, Life Changing Blender Brushes and the new  Slimline Nested Rectangles Dies.     Let's begin! I die cut the largest stitched rectangle die out of white cardstock. Then using the Life Changing Blender Brushes I applied inks from Catherine Pooler. Once I finished, I placed the Coloring Book Stencil on top of this panel in a diagonal way and using the Life Changing Blender Brushes I applied the same color of inks.         When the panel was dry I die cut it using the 7.75"x 2.75" Nested Stitched Rectangles Die, which is the smallest one from the large rectangles. Additional, I die cut another panel from white cardstock using the 8"x 3" Nested Stitched Rectangles Die.      On top of a slimline folded card I adhered the largest panel using glue. Then, on top I placed the white panel and finally I added the smallest one that was cut out from the largest panel. I love the look of this panel and how easy was to create it using the Slimline Nested Stitched Rectangles Dies.     I also die cut the words Happy Day three times from white cardstock and one last time out of glitter cardstock. I glued all of them and placed the glitter die cuts on top. Using glue I added the Happy Day word dies to the panel. In addition, I die cut from vellum three Oak Leaves Dies and placed them behind the letters H and Y using glue. Finally, some pearls were added and this card was finished.    I hope you like this card and try the new Slimline Nested Stitched Rectangles Dies. Wishing a great day and thank you for stopping by! Your friend, Karen

Strelitzia card by Michelle

Hello! When I'm not making cards, I'm a bona fide science nerd, so this Bird of Paradise (otherwise known as Strelitzia) stamp brings out the botany nerd in me. This flower is not a flower - it is an inflorescence, which is a bunch of flowers. In this case, the individual flowers bloom one after the other in a series. They are pollinated by birds, who stand on the blue part of the flower, exposing the sticky pollen that coats their feet and that then gets carried to the next inflorescence.  If you're not bored yet, I made this card by stamping the main image and colouring it with Copic markers. I used a dark blue card base, inked with the Flowers Stencil and white pigment ink. Thanks for visiting :)

Hello! Larisa here. I hope everyone is keeping warm!  Today, I'm sharing two slim line cards featuring the new release and a couple of the beautiful girl stamps.  For my first card, I used the Slim Line Die Cutting System to cut my card base. Then I cut a smaller panel from white card stock and used the new Slim Line English Brick Wall Stencil to add a tan brick wall effect. I die cut a circle from the bottom right hand corner and backed with a black mat. I stamped out my beautiful girl image, colored her up with Copics, and die cut her out using the coordinating die. Then I added some gold thread behind her and popped her in the middle of the circle using foam tape. I added the New Seriously Word Die just above the image and stamped my sentiment just below.  For my next card, I used The Slim Line Die Cutting System to cut my card panel. Then I used the stencil and some Pink Carnation Paper Glaze to create a soft background on a strip of white card stock. Once it was dry, I trimmed it to fit my panel and adhered it down. Then I heat embossed my sentiment in white sand added a strip of gold glitter card stock. For my image, I stamped her out, colored her up with Copics, and cut her out using the coordinating die. Wild Peonies with Karen Reategui

Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing this floral slimline card using Aurora Borealis stamp, Wild Peonis stamp set and the new Thank You word die from the February release. I heat embossed this image and added color using Copic markers.     Let's start! Using the Slimline Die Cutting System I die cut a layering base from white cardstock and heat embossed on top the Aurora Borealis stamp using WOW! Metallic Gold Embossing Powder. Next, I adhered a white folded slimline card at the back with glue.      On a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80 lbs. I stamped the Wild Peonies stamp using Black Hybrid ink from Picket Fence Studios and I colored it using Copic markers. I recently damaged two Copic markers while coloring on top of a heat embossed image so from now on I decided to first stamp my image using a Copic friendly ink and then after I finished coloring I can heat emboss.      To be able to first stamp the image with ink and then stamp it again in the same place to heat emboss after you finish coloring you will need a MISTI, so don't remove your stamp from the MISTI door. So once I finished coloring I placed my piece of cardstock inside the MISTI again and inked up my image with WOW! Embossing Pad and then I heat embossed it with WOW! Metallic Gold Embossing Powder.        I fussy cut this image and added it to my background using foam tape for more dimension, then I trimmed down the parts hanging out of the edges. Additionally, I die cut 5 times the Thank You word die out of white cardstock and once from gold mirror specialty paper. I glued them all with the gold die cut on top and added it to my background next to the flowers.       As a final touch I added these new Gem Mixes coming soon to the Picket Fence Studios shop. They matched perfectly the color combination from this card that I had to used them, but they will be part of the March release. I really hope you like this card and give it a try, it's a very easy card and so elegant that I'm sure anyone would love to get it. Thank you so much for stopping by and see you next time. Have a marvelous week. Your friend, Karen

NEW Slim Lines with Larisa

by Larisa Hohman on Jan 27 2021
Hello!  Larisa here!  Today, I'm sharing a couple of slim line cards using some of the new goodies from the January Release!  Slim line cards are all the rage right now and Picket Fence Studios has you covered!  So many stencils, dies, and even envelopes!  It's your on-stop-shop for all your slim line needs!!!   For my first card, I used the NEW Slim Line Ocean Waves Cover plate.  However, instead of creating waves with it, I die cut it from glitter white card stock and made snow!  I love that it's so versatile!  I layered my glitter panel on top of some white card stock cut with the Slim Line Die Cutting System and added some die cut snowflakes throughout the scene.  For my gnomes, I stamped them out, trimmed them apart, colored them with my Copics, and tucked them into the hills of my snow banks.  Then I added some of the NEW Spring Fling Sequins and Purple Side of a Rainbow Gems to give it some sparkle.  I stamped my sentiment from the More Fancy Sentiments Stamp Set and die cut it out with the coordinating dies (this is one of my favorite sets, by the way!  Love it!).  Then I popped it on top of my card with some foam tape for added dimension.   For my next card, I created a vertical slim line card.  To begin, I die cut a piece of white card stock using the Slim Line Die Cutting System.  I die cut a smaller rectangle from white card stock as well and used the NEW The Sleeping Tree Stamp Set to stamp my tree in the center.  Then I used some distress inks and the NEW 52 Layers of Clouds Stencil to create my background, careful not to cover the center of my tree image.  I colored that in with Copics.  Then I die cut some Tall Grass and adhered that to the bottom of the image.  I added some of the NEW Fire Gem Mix to my image, matching the colors with the distress inks in the clouds.  Then I stamped my sentiment from the Fancy Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set.  I used the coordinating dies to cut it out and added it to the bottom of my scene.     Products Used: Fancy Christmas Sentiments Die Set Fancy Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set Gem Mixes- Fire Gem Mixes- Purple Side of a Rainbow Spring Fling Sequin Mix Gem Pick Up Tool 52 Layers of Clouds Stencil Slimline Tall Grass Die Slim Line Ocean Waves Cover Plate Die The Sleeping Tree Stamp Winter Snowflakes Baby, It's Cold Outside More Fancy Sentiments Clear Stamp More Fancy Sentiments Die Slimline Rainbow Envelopes Black Hybrid Ink Life Changing Blender Brushes Slim Line Die Cutting System Have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Lastly, beneath the card are two of the beautiful Slim Line Rainbow Envelopes. Up Next, I have another slimline to share only this time I have switched the orientation.  For the background, I have stamped the 4x4 Falling hearts and then I added a top layer using circles from the Slim Line Die Cutting System. I made a faux shaker by simply adding a sprinkle of Green Fairy Sequins to each circle.  I die cut the new Always sentiment out three times and stamped LOVE from Wild Peonies.  Wild Peonies only a beautiful floral set but it also has wonderful sentiments too.   Lastly, I have my card resting on the new Slim Line Neutral envelopes!  For my last sample today, I am featuring this fun cloud scene card today which I shared on my Release Day post yesterday.  If you missed my Release Day Post you can stop by HERE to see the new Poem/watermark for the back of cards and more!  I love clouds so I couldn't wait to dive into the new  52 Layers of Clouds Stencil and the Slim Line Rising Sun Stencil.  The Slim Line Short Grass Die is fabulous and extends the full length of a slimline card!  I added "thinking of you" from the More Fancy Sentiments set and now you can purchase the Coordinating Die for exquisite sentiment styling!  I couldn't resist adding the bird silhouettes from the Sleeping Tree Set. Lastly, in the background of the card, I show two of the beautiful envelopes from the Slim Line Rainbow Envelopes.        There is so much more to see!  I haven't even touched on the new Gem Mixes, the 1 oz jars  or half the new stamps and dies so for a look at the entire January Release stop by HERE.  Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look today!

A Merry Christmas Walk and More

by Angela Bode on Dec 25 2020
Hello, everyone!  Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate and Happy Everything to those who simply celebrate the every day!   After enjoying a celebration meal it's always nice to take a walk so I created a fun scene with park-goers doing just that!    First, I created an outdoor scene with the Slimline Die Cutting system.  I layered the tree die cut for a fun film strip-type scene.  After cutting the trees, I stamped warm colors using a ink and a paper towel.  Next, I sponged the clouds with Life Changing Blender Brushes and the Slimline Cloud Coverage Stencil.  I stamped the characters from the More Walk in the Park set and die cut them with the Coordinating Dies.   Here is a close up of the Red Hat Society Ladies. In this scene we have a dog walker meeting a cat!  You know I had to include that cat!  And in the bottom square we have a couple of friends sharing an ice cream treat.  I think they are enjoying a Christmas walk somewhere warm!   Next up, I have a tip to share when using the Slimline Die Cutting System.  Don't toss the die cut squares and circles when using the Die Cutting System!  They can be used as design elements in future projects as I did with this card.  First, I blended ink with the Life Changing Blender Brushes and the Slimline Waves Stencil.  Next, I colored the Leaves For Flowers and die cut them out with the Coordinating Die.  I grabbed one of the circles I have saved from previous Slimline Die Cutting System layouts and stamped the birthday sentiment from Do Good Recklessly.  Did you know that Picket Fence Studios now carries the MISTI?  The MISTI is one tool I can't do without.  I use it for every project!  I hope you enjoyed viewing samples featuring the December Release!  You can find the entire December Release HERE! Thanks for stopping by!

I have a pretty-in-pink card to share today! I used the Slimline Diecutting system to create the card base and the pink panel, then I added some pink stenciling to the pink panel. I stamped and cut out a heap of flowers and leaves, coloured them with pink, purple and pale green Copic markers, and arranged them onto the card front. I then picked them all up with some Press And Seal to make adhering them in the right places easier. I finished with some sequins and a white embossed sentiment on a scrap of purple cardstock.   Thanks for visiting :)

Hello!  Larisa here and today, I have two very bright and very colorful scene cards to share with you!  For my first card, I paired A Walk in the Park with Bugville.  I stamped out my park scene and masked it off.  Then I stamped Bugville in the background.  I colored up the scene with copics and trimmed it to fit my A2 size card.  Then I stenciled in my sun with distress inks.  A very vibrant way to say, "hello!" For my second card, I used the Slimline Die cutting system and cut 2 birch tree panel from the center.  Then I stenciled in some clouds and stamped my grass on a separate piece of paper.  I trimmed that to fit behind my card panel and adhered the two pieces together.  Then I mounted that on a piece of teal card stock.  I stamped out my flower and leaf images on Copic-friendly card stock and colored them up.  Then I die cut them out using the coordinating dies and popped them on top of my card front.  The "happy birthday" sentiment across the top finishes it off.   Products Used: A Walk in the Park Clear Stamp A Walk in the Park Coordinating Die Corner Sun Stencil  Slimline Cloud Coverage Stencil Black Hybrid Ink Life Changing Blender Brushes Slim Line Die Cutting System Bugville Clear Stamp Set A2 Tall Grass and Waves with Tiles and Wood Floors Leaves for Flowers Clear Stamp Set Leaves for Flowers Coordinating Dies Beautiful Girl Flowers Beautiful Girl Flowers Coordinating Die Gin and Tonic Sequin Mix Do Good Recklessly Clear Stamp Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Slimlines and Gel Press with Ceal

by Ceal Pritchett on Dec 02 2020
Hey Y'all! It's Ceal and today I am sharing some slimline cards that uses the Slim Line Die Cutting System along with the Gel Press. Can you believe that it is December already? I have to get moving on my Christmas cards so I made 4 using this technique that I learned from Lydia.  To create these cards, I cut out some of the snowflakes from the Winter Snowflakes die set, the Lydia snowflake die and the LaWanda snowflake dies out of copy paper. I places some acrylic paint on the Gel Press and brayered over it. Next I placed the snowflakes down on top of the paint and placed the sheet of copy paper over it and gently rubbed over the entire Gel Press. I lifted the copy paper for the print and then removed the snowflakes so I could reuse them.  The paint colors I used on the blue were Peacock, Sky and Turquoise all by Dina Wakley.  The paint colors I used on the green card were Peacock and Lemon and when I ran the brayer over them it became green. The last two cards I used the holy trinity as lydia refers to it, Magenta, Lemon and Turquoise.  On every card I used the large and smaller rectangle die from the Slim Line Die Cutting System. I love how using your dies as stencils and masks as I have on my cards, stretches your dies.    I hope you have enjoyed this post and if you don't have a Gel Press, that you would invest in one. they are so fun!    Below you will find links to the products used. Hello crafty friends! Today I’m over Picket Fence Studios blog sharing these two Christmas cards. I’m featuring Baker’s Twine and HO HO HO Stamp set. Also Gin & Tonic and Moonshine Sequin Mixes. Let’s begin! For the first card I started by applying distress oxide inks with the Life Changing Blender Brushes to a panel. I used Aged Mahogany, Festive Berries and Abandoned Coral. Once my panel was dry, I trimmed down the edges and adhered a white folded note card at the back. Then, I stamped this large sentiment from Ho Ho Ho Stamp and I heat embossed it with WOW! Red Glitz Embossing Glitter. I repeated this step three times to get a bit more of dimension on my sentiment. Finally, I stamped the images from the Baker’s Twine Stamp and heat embossed them with WOW! Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. With a red gel pen I filled in the empty spaces of the twine and lastly, I added a few sequins from Gin & Tonic Sequin Mix. For the second card I also applied distress oxide inks with the Life Changing Blender Brushes to another panel. I used Black Soot, Lucky Clover and Cracked Pistachio. When my panel was dry, I trimmed down the edges and adhered a white folded note card at the back using glue. Next, I stamped the sentiment from Ho Ho Ho Stamp and I heat embossed it with WOW! Red Glitz Embossing Glitter. I repeated this step three times to get a bit more of dimension on my sentiment. Last, I stamped the images from the Baker’s Twine Stamp and heat embossed them with WOW! Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. I filled in the empty spaces of the twine with a red gel pen and finally, I added a few sequins from Gin & Tonic Sequin Mix and this card was finished. Thank you so much crafty friends for stopping by and I hope you like these cards and get some inspiration. Please have a wonderful rest of the week. Blessings, Karen
