Slimline Santa's Sleigh

by Andrea Shell on Sep 25 2024
Hello! It's Andrea back to share a fun card featuring the new Reindeer at Play stamp set from Picket Fence Studios. The reindeer from the Reindeer at Play set are so adorable! I stamped the sleigh once and the reindeer four times in black. I colored the images with Copics, added highlights with a white gel pen, and diecut the images with the coordinating dies. To fit all of the images, I decided to create a slimline card. First, I diecut the frame from white cardstock with the Slim Line Stitched and Scalloped Rectangles Dies. Next, I blended a slimline panel of white cardstock with the following colors of distress inks: Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot. I added splatters of Liquid White Snowflake and Opaque White Paper Splatter to the background panel. After the splatter had dried, I attached the ink-blended panel to a white card. I adhered the scalloped frame with foam adhesive and also popped up my colored images. My sentiment is from the Winter Blooms Dies. I diecut the phrases from red glitter and white cardstocks and stacked the diecuts. I glued the sentiment to my card and finished with some snowflake sequins from the Jingle All the Way sequin mix. Merry Christmas - A Wagon Full of Christmas Wishes

Happy Tuesday, PFS friends!! I hope your week is off to a great start!! Brenda here with a Christmas card combining products from the newest September release with the wagon from the Autumn Bountiful Beauty Stamp Set from last month!! I began by stamping the wagon from Autumn Bountiful Beauty and the flowers from the Winter Blooms stamp sets onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored them with Copic markers, then used the  Autumn Bountiful Beauty and  Winter Blooms coordinating dies to cut them out. I added dots to the centers of the flowers with a gold gel pen. For the background, I die-cut the Simple Plaid Cover Plate Die from white cardstock and adhered it to a white card base. The wagon and floral die-cuts were adhered with liquid glue. Next, I die-cut the "merry" from the Merry Christmas Word Die Set one time from gold glitter cardstock and twice from heavyweight white cardstock. "Christmas" was cut once from red cardstock and two times from heavyweight white cardstock using the same die set. All the die-cut layers were adhered together, then adhered to the background using liquid glue. I added gems from the North Pole Gem Mix to the center of each wheel, as well as a trio to the upper right area of the background to complete the card. That does it for me today!! Thank you so much for stopping by!! Brenda

Reindeer at Play Interactive card

by Silvana Chambon on Sep 23 2024
Hello, friends, and welcome to the PFS blog! It´s Silvana here and today I want to share with you an interactive card made with some of the new stamps from the September release.  Here´s the completed card: The card shows a slimline scene made with the new Reindeer at play stamp set. I used some older stamps sets like the Scene building: Winter Wonderland trees for the pines and Frolicking winter friends for the snow. Also, I used some Paper splatter for the snow in the sky: the Opaque White and the Liquid White Snowflake .  But the scene is "hidden" so you have to pull out the little tab on the right to see it in full like the photo. You can watch a short video in my Instagram page.  It´s a tricky mechanism which I learned in a scrapbook class meant to be in an album page, but I thought inmediately in a card with it. And I think it works very well! I used the Slimline Stitched and Scalloped Rectangles and Alpha Diecutting system  to make the card background and also the card base: I used the biggest scalloped rectangle and folded it at the middle. The result is an 4 1/4 x 3 1/2" card base. To make the mechanism I used the Happy Gingham Fabulously Glossy Cardstock.  To finish the card I stamped one of the sentiments on black cardstock with embossing ink and white embossing powder. I put a baker´s twine to add an extra detail.  This card has a lot of work and planning: you need to measure exactly and plan where to stamp the images so they don´t get cut in the middle. I did a lot of masking for the scene too that turned out very well.  I hope you liked this card and it inspires you to seek for new alternatives for your interactive cards.  Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today. See you in my next post. Have a fantastic week! Silvana

Coloring Flowers 2 Ways

by Colleen Balija on Sep 19 2024
Hi friends! Today I want to share 2 cards using the same stamp, but each will be colored using a different medium! You can get a completely different look just by switching up the coloring medium, so let's take a closer look! I'll be using Winter Blooms bundle, Deck the Halls stamp, Liquid Splatters in Candy Cane Red, Holly Leaf Green, and Cranberry Red, and Signature Quotes: Christmastime. My first card was colored using alcohol markers. First, I heat embossed the outer part of the flower from Winter Blooms using Rose Gold embossing powder. I did the same with the sentiments. Next, I colored the flowers in shades of light red, green, and teal.  Once the coloring was finished, I added Bright Pink & Coral Pearls over the flowers for shine and depth. That was it for this card! Simple and elegant! The soft colors and beautiful embossing powder made this card so lovely! My next card is bolder, and we'll be using Liquid Splatters to apply color!  First, I applied a generous amount of CandyCane Red Liquid Splatters to a piece of watercolor cardstock. Then I heat embossed both the outer and inner flowers from Winter Blooms using gold embossing powder. Gold powder is brighter than Rose Gold.  Next, I water colored the flowers and leaves using Cranberry Red and Holly Leaf Green Liquid Splatters.  I wasn't concerned about shading, I just wanted to apply a rich layer of color so that the flowers and leaves stood out from the background panel. When I finished water coloring, I added Pearls in Navy Blue & Charcoal Grey over the flowers. Then I heat embossed a sentiment from Signature Quotes: Christmastime in gold powder, die cut it, and applied it over the card panel with foam tape.  This card is bold because of the bright colors, compared to the first card that had a softer look. You can use the same stamp set and get a completely different look each time, just by using different coloring mediums and varying the color combinations!  Thanks for stopping by today, to shop the products used in this post, click on the descriptions to be taken to the PFS shop! Deck the Halls

by Andrea Shell on Sep 18 2024
Hi there! It's Andrea back with you sharing a Christmas card featuring Picket Fence Studios' September release. I love the Freckle Friends' line of stamps, and the newest one, Holly Jolly, is no exception! I colored that sweet girl and Christmas tree with Copics and cut them out with the coordinating dies. To create the window, I diecut an A2 panel of gray cardstock with the Basic Die Cutting Die Set 1 Dies. I used the same die to create the white frame. I backed the gray panel with clear acetate and glued the white frame inside the opening. For my background I used the new Christmas Tree Farm 6x8 Stencil. After placing a panel of pink cardstock onto the 5x6 Paper Inking Palette, I covered it with the stencil and applied pink ink with a Rainbow Pint-sized Paper Pouncer. Using the window panel as a placement guide, I glued the tree and girl to the stenciled panel. I adhered the stenciled panel to a white card and attached the window panel with strips of foam tape. To embellish the window, I used the greenery and bow from the Christmas Wishes Tags & Ornaments stamp set. I colored the bow with Copics and diecut the greenery and bow with the coordinating dies. I glued the foliage to the frame and popped up the bow with thin 3D foam squares. My sentiment is from the new Deck the Halls stamp set. I heat-embossed it in gold, cut it out with the coordinating dies, and attached it with foam. Thanks for stopping by! *Affiliate links used at no cost to you.

Let's Have Some Christmas Fun

by Brenda Noelke on Sep 16 2024
Hello, crafty friends and happy new week!! Brenda here with a mini slimline Christmas card to share featuring the adorable Reindeer at Play Stamps & Coordinating Dies, as well as several other goodies from Saturday's September Release!! I began by stamping the reindeer from the darling Reindeer at Play Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored them with Copic markers, added highlights with a white gel pen, then cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. For the background, I spread Holly Leaf Green Paper Glaze Luxe through the Tree Farm Stencil onto a panel of white cardstock with a palette knife. Once it was dry, I trimmed the panel slightly smaller than mini slimline size and adhered it to a slimline panel of red cardstock.  The "Christmastime" sentiment was die-cut from red cardstock one time and heavyweight white cardstock twice using the Christmastime He's the Reason for the Season Word Die Set. The layers were adhered together using liquid glue. The sub-sentiment is from the Reindeer at Play Stamp Set. It was stamped onto white cardstock with red ink and cut out with the Coordinating Die. All the die-cuts were arranged and adhered to the background with liquid glue. A couple of candy clay pieces from the Oh, What Fun Sequin Mix Plus added to each side of the sub-sentiment finishes off the card. How sweet are those little reindeer?!? Soooooo cute!! Thanks so much for spending part of your Monday with me!! Have a great week and I'll see you soon!! Brenda

Be my Boo? Shaker Elements

by Silvana Chambon on Sep 11 2024
Hi, friends! Welcome to the Picket Fence Studios´ blog! I´m Silvana from Casa Magnolia and today I bring you a fun "partial" shaker card for this Halloween season.  I used a lot of the last release products, but also others from previous ones. The result is a very interesting and fun card, with a lot of details to look for. So let´s get started! The card features the new Bee my boo? stamp set. It has a lot of cute ghost images, and I chose a few to color and set aside to decide which ones I´ll use later. Other new product you can find here is the Haunted Halloween Gingham Fabulously glossy cardstock.  I diecut it with the A2 saying Hello Cover plate die. This die cuts the little rectangles from the inside too, but I decided that I wanted to make some of them like mini shakers, so I didn´t use them all.  The reason for this was that the gingham pattern didn’t allow the sequin mix to be seen properly. So I made a background with white cardstock, on which I put some Opaque Black Paper Splatter in some areas and used the Spider Menagerie 6x8 stencil in others, taking into account that those areas would be visible through the rectangles. Then I made the shakers: I put acetate in some of the rectangles and then put some foam tape under all the front piece. I filled the little shakers with the Hi, Boo! Sequin mix  and glued the white background with the splatter.  After that I started to assemble the last pieces. I glued some of the gingham rectangles in three places. I put the ghosts over the gingham and the stenciled areas. I cut some bats form the Trick or Treat Halloween word set die  with a foiled black paper and added them in some areas. I leave the center for the sentiment which I made from the same stamp set with white embossing powder over a black cardstock.  I finished the card by making some details with a white gel pen, in this case the Karin Decogel Pen. And that´s it! It´s a card with a little bit of work, but totally worth it! The little shakers add extra fun to the ghosts stamp.  I hope you enjoyed it and try your own "partial" shakers! See you in my next post. Have a fantastic day! Silvana.

Love and Joy: Copic-colored Diecuts

Hello there! It's Andrea with you sharing a Christmas card created with fun dies from Picket Fence Studios. I just love Picket Fence Studios' line of Nibbles Dies! Today, I'm featuring the Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus Dies. Aren't they adorable?! I diecut the elements for Santa and Mrs. Claus from white, red and gold cardstocks. I colored the white and red diecuts with Copics, assembled the characters with liquid adhesive, and added highlights with a white gel pen. That cheerful background panel is from the Happy Gingham Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts. To soften it a bit, I applied white gesso in the center (white acrylic paint would also work; I just had the gesso at hand). Once the gesso was dry, I trimmed down the panel and adhered it to a white cardbase. With the Slim Line Stitched and Scalloped Rectangles and Alpha Dies, I diecut two scalloped circles from white cardstock. I adhered the circles to my card with foam squares and popped up Santa and Mrs. Claus. Using the Layering Flora: Leaves & Twigs Dies, I diecut the foliage from two colors of green cardstock. I tucked the foliage under my characters and circles and added red clay beads for berries. For my sentiment I combined words from the Peaceful Christmas Flowers set with the "and" word die from the Slim Line Stitched and Scalloped Rectangles Dies. I gold heat-embossed the stamped sentiments and diecut them with the coordinating dies. I diecut "and" once from gold cardstock and three times from white and stacked the diecuts. I attached the embossed sentiments with foam tape and finished with a scattering of gold pearls. Thanks for stopping by! *Affiliate links used at no cost to you.

Peace to You Holiday Card

by Colleen Balija on Sep 09 2024
Hi friends! It's a bit early, but I've got a beautiful Christmas card to share with you today using the new Peaceful Christmas Flowers stamp set! But then again, is it ever too early to start on holiday cards? I don't think so!  The poinsettias in this stamp set are in 3 different sizes and are perfect to create a lovely background! I stamped all 3 of them onto a piece of 5.5x4.25 white cardstock, using gold embossing powder. Then I colored them with my alcohol markers in shades of rose and teal, which I found to be so peaceful and lovely!  When I finished coloring, I added the sentiments from the stamp set with gold embossing powder as well. Next, I added liquid splatters in silver and Pink Flowers, which was a nice touch!  The last step was to add a bit more interest to the card panel. I trimmed the finished card panel down to 3.75x5, die cut right through the center of it with a rectangular die, along with 2 more sheets of black cardstock. Then I put the pieces back together onto a white 5.5x4.25 card base, in this order: center card panel, black cardstock, outer card panel, black cardstock, white card base. The end result was a beautiful layout with that pop of black! I love this technique and it's so easy to do!  I'm ahead of the game with my Christmas card stash! I will definitely be making more cards using this lovely stamp set! Thanks for stopping by today!

Ghostly Greetings

Hi there! It's Andrea with you to share a fun card featuring the new Be My Boo? stamp set and October 31st Word Dies. These ghosts from the Be My Boo? stamp set are so cute! I colored them with Copics, fussy-cut them, and added white highlights with a gel pen. To create my background, I blended a white panel with the following colors of distress oxides: Salvaged Patina, Unchartered Mariner, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot. I flicked Opaque White Paper Splatter over the panel to represent stars. For my moon, I diecut a white circle with the 2.0" Connected Circles Shaker Dies. I blended the circle with gray ink and stamped a sentiment from the Freckle Friends: Bella Boo stamp set. I glued the circle to my background and attached the panel to a white cardbase. I diecut "October" with the October 31st Word Dies twice - once from black glitter cardstock and once from white cardstock. I trimmed the spider webs from the black diecut before gluing it onto the white one. I popped up the diecut with bits of foam and attached the ghosts with thinner foam adhesive. Trick or treat Hallowen card

by Silvana Chambon on Aug 29 2024
Hello, friends! Welcome to Picket Fence Studios´blog! It´s Silvana here from Casa Magnolia  and today I want to share with you a fun and easy Halloween card made with some of the new products from the last release.   The card features the new Trick or Treat Halloween word die set which has the phrase "trick or treat" "Halloween" word and three different sized bats. I cut two times the phrase with white heavy cardstock and stack them together. For the top layer, I foiled a piece of Solid Black Fabulous Foiling Toner Cardstock  with the Silver Strobe Lights Fabulous Foiling Toner . I cut the bats in black cardstock and set all aside.  I made the background with alcohol inks and yupo paper. I stamped the new Cheers, witches stamp with embossing ink and black embossing powder.  I know that yupo is not supposed to be heated, because it can curl if you over heat it because it´s plastic, but you can heat embossing over it. You need to be careful and not leave the heat gun in the same spot for too long or get it too close to the paper. It will get more time but it´s doable.  I assembled the card over an A2 card base, adding some black sequins for embellish. It´s a simple card but the alcohol ink background and the sparkle of the foiling make it stands and make it a fun halloween card.  I hope you like it and gives you an idea to your next Halloween card.  See you in my next blog post.  Have a fantastic day! Silvana.

Friendly and Cute Ghosts!

by Colleen Balija on Aug 28 2024
Hi friends! For those of you that like to keep it cute on Halloween, I've got the cutest Halloween card to share with you today! I'll be using Trick or Treat Halloween word dies and Be My Boo stamp set!  First, I stamped all of the ghosts from the Be My Boo stamp set (there are 8 in all) onto a piece of white cardstock to create a background. I added a few of the sentiments from the set to fill in white space. Next, I colored the ghosts and their cute little decorations! Once I finished coloring, I trimmed the card panel down significantly, along with a piece of black cardstock slightly larger. Then I die cut the Trick or Treat word die right through the middle of the ghost card panel. I die cut 2 more layers of the phrase and adhered them together. I adhered the ghost card panel onto the piece of black cardstock, and then inserted the letters from Trick or Treat back into place on the card panel. The sentiment popped out because I used 3 layers of it! I added silver DecoGel over the letters to help it stand out even more without taking away from the cohesiveness of my ghost designs!  You can see the sentiment in the photo above! Finally, I adhered my finished Ghost panel over a background that was stamped using a fun Halloween background stamp! Then I added Gold DecoGel pen in various places along with Black pen over the eyes of those cute little ghosts!  This card will go to my 10-year-old granddaughter for Halloween, and she'll love it! Thanks so much for stopping by today!
