Paradise In or Out of the Water!

by Angela Bode on Mar 19 2021
Happy Friday!  I hope you are being treated to pretty weather this weekend!  And speaking of pretty weather, I created a card with a spring-like feel!  I used the amazing Paper Glaze Enhancer mixed with the new Lime Zinnia Paper Glaze and the Funky Leaves Stencil. The Paper Glaze Enhancer adds a smooth shimmer and it's super easy to use!  I added two cute Song Birds (with the help of coordinating dies) who, I believe are about to create a little paradise!  The sentiment is included in the lovely Bird of Paradise Flowers set!   From spring foliage to the sea, the PFS March Release has it covered!  This time I used Ocean Poppy Paper Glaze without the enhancer because you know, sometimes you just have to have the shine!  I just love the flow of of the Slim Line Fish For Infinity stencil!  I stamped and die cut (with coordinating die) the mermaid from Mermaids of the Sea.  Then I just had to cover the mermaid with the new Ocean of Green Gems.  The layers are cut with the original Slimline Die Cutting System and the sentiment says "I hope you make a big Splash" from One Year Older.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  You can see all the beautiful new Picket Fence Studios products HERE! Have a wonderful weekend! The Ocean is Calling I Must Go

by Ceal Pritchett on Mar 17 2021
Hey Y'all! It's Ceal, here to share a couple cards with you today.  Is the March amazing or what? If you love the ocean, then it is definitely for you.   For my first sample Stay Wild Ocean Child, I started with a top folding white card base and a panel that I created when I took a distress ink class. To create the background I used Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet. I stamped the sentiment from the set Merpeople of the Sea and a die cut from the Coordinating die for the Mermaids of the Sea stamp set. I cut the Mermaid out of rainbow holographic paper.    For my second sample Found By The Sea, I also started with a white top folding card base and another  panel I made in the distress class I took.  I stamped the images of the mermaid and fish from the Mermaids of the Sea stamp set directly on the panel and then cut out the Netting Cover Plate Die in holographic paper and added over the panel leaving a few of the pieces in it. I embossed the sentiment from the same set with white embossing powder on a black strip.

Show the haters who is boss with Erica

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Mar 16 2021
Hi guys!  It’s Erica back on the PFS blog today with a bit of hastily made card. You see, UPS has held my package, with the March release, hostage for over a month and it only arrived late on Friday afternoon and the release day was on Sunday! There might have been a slight tint of panic in the air that weekend! Luckily, I got the Paper Glaze Enhancer earlier in the month so I played with that a little and made a few... or a lot... or a whole pile of backgrounds using that and the gorgeous Paper Glazes. I am obsessed with them already and oh boy, is that Enhancer a fun addition! There is a video over on the PFS YouTube channel if you want to learn more about it. You will also spot the background I’m using for today’s card being made.  These backgrounds are all done with the Burst Of Sun stencil and glorious Paper Glazes and some with the Enhancer. Naturally, I only remembered to take a photo of the results after I had already used one of them for the card.  In the March release there is a girl stamp called Kylee Girl, and I stamped her up with Black Hybrid Ink on Copic friendly paper. Armed with so many Copics, the exact ones can be seen in the photo below, I got to work.  Something else from the new release, that I fell heads over heels for, is the new Gem Mix. It’s called Oceans of Green and it’s stunning. I had to incorporate them somehow.  When then colouring was done, I used the coordinating diecut to cut the Kylee Girl out, and then glued her down to the background I chose. This is where the Oceans Of Green Gem Mix came in, and not just the new one! I used the Fire and Dark Side Of The Rainbow too, and matched the gems to the colour of the Paper Glaze on the different sections of the background. I used the brilliant Pick-Up Tool to make adhering them easy peasy.  To finish off the card, I stamped up ‘show the haters who is boss’ with Black Hybrid Ink on white card stock, and trimmed this down to a slim banner. That was adhered and with that, the card was done!  I hope you like it and found some inspiration here with me today. Until next time, lots of love and happy crafting from Erica and Kylee Girl.

Hello! It's Michelle here to share a card using a colour scheme I usually associate with Christmas! The white card base is inked with some green ink over the Triple Weave stencil. I added a  strip of green cardstock from my stash and then stamped the sentiment. I stamped and coloured the dragonfruit with Copic markers, before cutting them out and arranging them on the card front. Thanks for visiting :)

Hello!  Larisa here!  Today, I'm bringing you Beautiful Girl Madelyn with some retro vibes.  Picket Fence Studios has some of the most beautiful stamps out there!  I just love creating with the Beautiful Girls Line.   To create my card, I started with some patterned paper and trimmed it to fit the front of my card. Then I layered that on top of some lime green paper and adhered it to my card base.  Then I stamped out my image, colored her up with Copics and cut her out using the coordinating die.  I centered her on my card panel and added some die cut music notes around her.  Then I die cut and layered up the "hey you" word die in coordinating colors.  To give it some dimension, I layered it on top of some foam and then added it just below my image.  The "break a leg" sentiment from the NEW Ways To Express Yourself Set finishes it off.   , Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy Crafting! Happy Monday! Karma? I've seen it in action, so I can't deny it...but this stamp set from Picket Fence Studios really brings a whole new slant to it...and I LOVE it! I started my card by ink blending through the English Brick Wall stencil with some Distress Oxide inks. Then I used the Sparks Cover Plate to cut that WONDERFUL die cut burst into the wall. I backed it in black card stock for a wow affect. Next came the sentiment and I was done! Well, except for the gems. Gems or sequins...gotta have at least one of them. I have listed the products I used below in case you would like to take a closer look. Have a wonderful day and I'll see you again soon. Susie Created 4 Creativity

Happy Day with Karen Reategui

by Karen Reategui on Mar 03 2021
Hello friends! I hope you all are doing good and healthy. Today I'm sharing this slimline card featuring the new Slimline Nested Rectangles Dies that comes with this wonderful word dies: Happy, Day, Get Well and Lovely. All of them have the matching shadow dies too. So for this card I used the Coloring Book Stencil, Oak Leaves Die, Life Changing Blender Brushes and the new  Slimline Nested Rectangles Dies.     Let's begin! I die cut the largest stitched rectangle die out of white cardstock. Then using the Life Changing Blender Brushes I applied inks from Catherine Pooler. Once I finished, I placed the Coloring Book Stencil on top of this panel in a diagonal way and using the Life Changing Blender Brushes I applied the same color of inks.         When the panel was dry I die cut it using the 7.75"x 2.75" Nested Stitched Rectangles Die, which is the smallest one from the large rectangles. Additional, I die cut another panel from white cardstock using the 8"x 3" Nested Stitched Rectangles Die.      On top of a slimline folded card I adhered the largest panel using glue. Then, on top I placed the white panel and finally I added the smallest one that was cut out from the largest panel. I love the look of this panel and how easy was to create it using the Slimline Nested Stitched Rectangles Dies.     I also die cut the words Happy Day three times from white cardstock and one last time out of glitter cardstock. I glued all of them and placed the glitter die cuts on top. Using glue I added the Happy Day word dies to the panel. In addition, I die cut from vellum three Oak Leaves Dies and placed them behind the letters H and Y using glue. Finally, some pearls were added and this card was finished.    I hope you like this card and try the new Slimline Nested Stitched Rectangles Dies. Wishing a great day and thank you for stopping by! Your friend, Karen

Life Sucks Without You

by Sara Sherlock on Mar 02 2021
Hello!  It's Sara, from Much Love, Sara.  I'm here to share this super soft and pretty Get Well card with you today, using one of the new stencils and stamp sets from the February release, along with a couple of previously released items.   For today's card, I began by inking the background of the card front. I used Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink, and one of my Life Changing Blender Brushes, through the Center Flower 6x6 Stencil, onto white card stock.  I slightly offset the stencil when I inked it, and inked heavier in the center of the stencil, blending outward.     Then, I white heat embossed the sentiments from the Life Sucks Without You Stamp Set, onto a strip of gray card stock.  I die cut multiple sets of leaves from Vellum, and Mirror Silver card stock, using the Maple Leaves Dies.  I layered the pieces together, and matted the card front with more gray card stock.  The card front was attached to a white card base, and finished off with a scattering of my favorite Gin & Tonic Sequins.   Have a fantastic Tuesday! Much Love,                                                  Sara

Seriously ...

by Ilina Crouse on Mar 01 2021
Hi everyone! Ilina here! If you know me,  you know that I use the word "seriously" quite often. ;) So I thought it was perfect to use the new Seriously word die to make a card. Paired with a sentiment from the new Ways to Express Yourself set it was match made in heaven. And I think everyone could relate to some level with the phrase "I'm about to lose my mind" especially with the last 12 months we have had.  To make the card I die cut the sentiment from black card stock and the backing from white. Then stamped the sentiment on black card stock and embossed in white. Trimmed to size. Next, I cut strips from Navy, Light Blue, Green and Orange card stock and adhered to white piece of card stock measuring 4" x 5 1/4". Adhered the die cut sentiment and then the sentiment strip. To finish the card I adhered the panel using craft foam to a top folding note card! Thank you so much for stopping by and hope you have an amazing day!

Sunshine and Rainbows

Hello!  I hope wherever you are the sun is shining and warming up your part of the world!  I have a couple of cards to share with you featuring sunshine and rainbows! First, is this super fun rainbow featuring the Slim Line Movement Stencil.  This is such a fun stencil as it gives the illusion of dimension!  I used the Slim Line Die Cutting System and cut 3 circles out to create space for a scene. Did you know that Picket Fence Studios has a brand new Slim Line Nested Rectangles Die Cutting System out?  It has four stitched layers, slimline label dies and four, word dies!  It's available now with no waiting for preorder or the next monthly release! I used the Cloud Coverage Stencil and LC Blender Brushes for the background. The image is from After the Storm, and the sentiment is from the Hello set.   For my next card, I inked up the beautiful Wave Sun Stencil with LC Blender Brushes.  Don't you just love the curling rays of this sun? I love the image of feminine hands raised from the BFF Favorite Hello Set.  When we come together from diverse backgrounds with love and care for one another nothing can stop us!  The sentiment is from the lovely Wild Peonies set.  Lastly, I sprinkled some Fire Gems! Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you feel inspired to create some sunshine! Hey Y'all  It's Ceal , here. Today I am sharing a couple cards using quite a few of the same products like the Que Sera Sera stamp set, the Center Flower Stencil and the Pastel Paper Glaze.    My first card is a slim line created by using the Slim Line Die Cutting System. I started with a white card base and cut yellow front and the white panel using the SLDCS. I placed the Center Flower Slim Line stencil on the white pane and then added some Yellow Primrose Paper Glaze with the Mix Media Spatulas. While the paper glaze was drying, I stamped some of the flowers from the Que Sera Sera set on vellum and embossed them in white powder. I flipped them over and colored the opposite side with Copic markers. I cut the Thank You die out of yellow cardstock and backed it with vellum to match the flowers.    My second card uses the 6x6 Center Flower Stencil and I used two paper glazes in Pink Carnation and Yellow Primrose. I also used the same set Que Sera Sera but I stamped and colored the flowers on regular cardstock. I added the greeting from the Fancy Congratulations Sentiments stamp set stamped with embossing ink and embossed in gold and cut out with the Fancy Congratulations Sentiments dies

Another Dog Card with Erica

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Feb 23 2021
Hi Picket Fence Friends!  It’s Erica back on the Picket Fence Studios blog, with another dog-themed card. I just love dogs, and the Pet All The Dogs set has so many cuties.  In the February release there was an English Brick Wall stencil added to the repertoire of stencils, and I had some fun with it, creating two backgrounds with a mix of Distress Oxide inks and Life Changing Blender Brushes.  Of course I also coloured up some doggies.. I’m not known for being a crazy dog lady for nothing, you know. For these little guys I used Black Hybrid ink on Copic friendly paper, and then coloured away. Happy like a puppy with a chew bone! Lots of Copics were used and then they were corralled into the diecutting machine with the coordinating die.  I thought it would be irresponsible to let the dogs roam free, so I also stamped up BFF Elise Girl with Black Hybrid ink and coloured her in as well. Luckily, she has a coordinating diecut as well! I also cut out another piece, just out of white card stock to layer her up a little.  A couple of sentiments from the Pet All The Dogs were stamped up directly onto the brick wall panel, that had been trimmed down a little, and then adhered to a white card base.  Well, with that, I’m all done for today but I am crossing my fingers, and my little chicas their paws, that you like the card!  Thanks for stopping by, lots of love and happy crafting from Erica

Stenciled Backgrounds with Judy

by Judy Rozema on Feb 22 2021
Have you had a chance to check out the February release at Picket Fence Studios? Today I am sharing two cards using two of the new stencils released on the 14th of this month. First up is this colorful Center Flower 6x6 Stencil. I used two colors of Distress Oxide Ink and my Life Changing Blender Brushes for the ink blended background. I stamped one of the flower groups and a sentiment from the previously released Que Sera Sera to finish the card. I used the Coordinating Die to cut out the flowers after they were Copic colored.  Next up is the English Brick Wall 6x6 Stencil. I used a partial stencil with DOX ink, and added one of the pens from Color Like A Bird Sings (January release) and the new Fancy Congratulations Sentiments (best news ever) for the sentiment. A true CAS! There is much more to see, so head over to SHOP to see it all and grab yourself a surprise!

Hello! When I'm not making cards, I'm a bona fide science nerd, so this Bird of Paradise (otherwise known as Strelitzia) stamp brings out the botany nerd in me. This flower is not a flower - it is an inflorescence, which is a bunch of flowers. In this case, the individual flowers bloom one after the other in a series. They are pollinated by birds, who stand on the blue part of the flower, exposing the sticky pollen that coats their feet and that then gets carried to the next inflorescence.  If you're not bored yet, I made this card by stamping the main image and colouring it with Copic markers. I used a dark blue card base, inked with the Flowers Stencil and white pigment ink. Thanks for visiting :)

Hello! Larisa here. I hope everyone is keeping warm!  Today, I'm sharing two slim line cards featuring the new release and a couple of the beautiful girl stamps.  For my first card, I used the Slim Line Die Cutting System to cut my card base. Then I cut a smaller panel from white card stock and used the new Slim Line English Brick Wall Stencil to add a tan brick wall effect. I die cut a circle from the bottom right hand corner and backed with a black mat. I stamped out my beautiful girl image, colored her up with Copics, and die cut her out using the coordinating die. Then I added some gold thread behind her and popped her in the middle of the circle using foam tape. I added the New Seriously Word Die just above the image and stamped my sentiment just below.  For my next card, I used The Slim Line Die Cutting System to cut my card panel. Then I used the stencil and some Pink Carnation Paper Glaze to create a soft background on a strip of white card stock. Once it was dry, I trimmed it to fit my panel and adhered it down. Then I heat embossed my sentiment in white sand added a strip of gold glitter card stock. For my image, I stamped her out, colored her up with Copics, and cut her out using the coordinating die. Then I popped her up with foam tape.       Products Used: Slim Line English Brick Wall Stencil Slim Line Basket Petals Stencil Bless Your Heart Ways to Express Yourself Pink Carnation Paper Glaze BFF Avery BFF Avery Coordinating Die Beautiful Girl Isabella Seriously Word Die Gem Pick Up Tool Slimline Rainbow Envelopes Black Hybrid Ink Life Changing Blender Brushes Slim Line Die Cutting System Have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Wild Peonies with Karen Reategui

Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing this floral slimline card using Aurora Borealis stamp, Wild Peonis stamp set and the new Thank You word die from the February release. I heat embossed this image and added color using Copic markers.     Let's start! Using the Slimline Die Cutting System I die cut a layering base from white cardstock and heat embossed on top the Aurora Borealis stamp using WOW! Metallic Gold Embossing Powder. Next, I adhered a white folded slimline card at the back with glue.      On a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80 lbs. I stamped the Wild Peonies stamp using Black Hybrid ink from Picket Fence Studios and I colored it using Copic markers. I recently damaged two Copic markers while coloring on top of a heat embossed image so from now on I decided to first stamp my image using a Copic friendly ink and then after I finished coloring I can heat emboss.      To be able to first stamp the image with ink and then stamp it again in the same place to heat emboss after you finish coloring you will need a MISTI, so don't remove your stamp from the MISTI door. So once I finished coloring I placed my piece of cardstock inside the MISTI again and inked up my image with WOW! Embossing Pad and then I heat embossed it with WOW! Metallic Gold Embossing Powder.        I fussy cut this image and added it to my background using foam tape for more dimension, then I trimmed down the parts hanging out of the edges. Additionally, I die cut 5 times the Thank You word die out of white cardstock and once from gold mirror specialty paper. I glued them all with the gold die cut on top and added it to my background next to the flowers.       As a final touch I added these new Gem Mixes coming soon to the Picket Fence Studios shop. They matched perfectly the color combination from this card that I had to used them, but they will be part of the March release. I really hope you like this card and give it a try, it's a very easy card and so elegant that I'm sure anyone would love to get it. Thank you so much for stopping by and see you next time. Have a marvelous week. Your friend, Karen

Happy Monday! Slim Line cards? Yes please! And Slim Line envelopes? Double yes! I love having envelopes that match ready and waiting for me when I get ready to mail my cards. They come in rainbow and neutral packs which is so awesome! I knew exactly how I was going to make this card which is not always the case. First I stamped my beautiful lady and then masked off her face. I grabbed my Slim Line English Brick stencil and used three shades of pink, fading it out as I went. I avoided her hair and since her face was masked, I was able to stencil the background easily. I used pink Copic markers very lightly to accentuate my gal's facial features because I wanted everything to coordinate. I added two sentiments and then cut and matted my background. The sequins were my final addition. I have listed the products I used below in case you would like to take a closer look. Have a wonderful day and I'll see you again soon. Susie Created 4 Creativity

Slim Line Hello

by Ilina Crouse on Feb 08 2021

Hi everyone! Ilina here! Today I am sharing couple sim line cards using the new Slim Line Basket Petals stencil. I paired the stencil with the Hello word die and few gems from the Day and Night gem mix. To make the cards I started by cutting strips of pink/purple hue card stock. I cut the strips to about 1/4" wide and 8 1/2" long. I cut 5 strips for each card. Next adhere the strips for each card onto a thin paper (I used printer paper). Once the adhesive is dry, cut out the excess paper. Use the Slim Line Basket Petals stencil and blend in white craft ink with a Life Changing Blending Brush. Set aside to dry or use your heat tool to dry it.   While the strips are drying die cut the "Hello" word die from black and white card stock and assemble the die cuts (I added 3 layers for the black). Die cut a panel for your slim line card using the Slim Line Die Cutting system. Adhere the strips and trim off the excess from the ends. Adhere the Hello and add few black gems.  Create 2 slim line card bases and add the panels using some craft foam. You are done!!!  Thank you so much for stopping by. Hope you have an amazing day!

Big Hugs with Picket Fence Studios and Gel Press

Hello! Today I am featuring cards made with Picket Fence Studios and Gel Press Products!First, a Big Hug to you for stopping by! To create this I used one of the small Gel Presses from the Faith Impressions set. This is such a cool set with 4 small shapes and 2 long border shapes. I ordered this set with the purpose of beginning to Bible journal but I have misplaced the journaling Bible! I moved the Bible to a safe place and yep, it's so safe, I can't find it! However, the Faith Impressions Set is so versatile it can be used to create any type of project, including cards! I added Big Hugs for the sentiment and sprinkled  Day and Night gems with the fancy Gem Pick-Up Tool. You will feel like an elegant crafter with this Gem Pick-up Tool! Next, I created a celebration card using the 7" Impressables Repeat Circles Gel Press.  This is a fun press because the circles are built into the press!  I placed the press on my MISTI (now carried in the PFS store!) and used it as a stamp.  Don't be surprised to see the Impressables Repeat Circles pop up again because I couldn't stop experimenting with it!  I added the fun Happy Birthday and sprinkled Spring Fling Sequins for a fun celebration feel!    Lastly, I returned to the Faith Impressions set and selected the heart shape press and the Flowers  stencil. I trimmed around the heart and edged it with black marker.  The background was created by stamping the heart randomly with paints and reinkers. I wasn't delighted with the result, so I added white paint to the heart with cheesecloth and continued to stamp. For the sentiment, I used the Seeing Double Alpha Die.  This set is terrific because it includes the Alphabet and numbers at one great price point!  To finish off the card I sprinkled Purple Side of a Rainbow Gems using the ever so elegant Gem Pick-Up Tool. Thanks so much for stopping by today and taking a look at the fun that can be made with Picket Fence Studios and Gel Press!  I hope your weekend is awesome! Angie
