Social Distanced Santas

by Ceal Pritchett on Aug 19 2020
Hello Everyone! It's Ceal here to share a card with you today using the Baby it's Cold Outside set. It's 2020 and we all know we have to social distance and that is what it looks like these santas are doing right? I love to make wintry snowy skies and this stamp set is perfect to do that.  I stamped the image in our Black Hybrid ink, colored it using Copic markers and then masked it off and created the sky To create the sky I used the Life Changing Blender Brushes and Concord & 9th inks in Midnight, Oceanside and Eggplant and blended them over the masked santas keeping some snow at the bottom also. Before I removed the masks I spritzed some water for the snowflakes. To finish the card I added a greeting from the Believe in th Magic set and some small snowflakes with a white gel pen.    Below you will find links to the products used. Leaf Mandala Madness with Erica

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Aug 18 2020

Hi guys! It's Erica back on the PFS Blog today, with three cards all using the Leaf Mandala stamp from the August release.  The first two cards are done with Rose Gold embossing powder, one clean and simple and the other rich and sparkly.  On the clean and simple one I coloured in the leaves with Zig Clean Color markers, in autumnal colours to complement the colour of the embossing powder.  This one was finished off with a stamp set from Levels Of Friendships in three different Distress Oxide inks to create a gradient look. It's Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey and Abandoned Coral.  One last finishing touch were a few sequins from the brand new sequin mix Bourbon Maple Splash.  The second card was done with the same Distress Oxide inks, only ink blended this time. Using the Life Changing Blender Brushes I added the colours out to all the edges.  In order to bring some attention to the leaves, I brought in my Zig Clean Color markers again and used these to add more depth and colour. A final sentiment from Live Happy was stamped over the wreath. I also added some shimmer to it. I did this by splattering some Golden Rose Paper Glaze mixed with water to create a gold water colour.  The final card is coloured with Copics, and I have also added the pumpkin from A World Of Octobers on it. The background is made up with the Leaf Mandala stamped up about two thirds on the top and the bottom of a card base, then coloured in. I did mean to make them perfectly mirrored but that did not happen. Oh well.  The pumpkin was also coloured up with Copics, after being stamped up with Black Hybrid ink on a scrap piece of Neenah card stock.  I also added one of the sentiments from A World Of Octobers on it, and then trimmed it down. This strip I adhered straight to the card and as a last flourish, I added some sequins from the Bourbon Maple Splash sequin mix to balance out the wonkiness of the Leaf Mandalas.  That's it from me for today, I hope you enjoyed these cards and found some inspiration here!  Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica

August Release with Michelle

Hello! It's Michelle here today, and it's release day for Picket Fence Studios! I have an eclectic bunch of cards for you today, using a variety of stamps and stencils from the August release. This first card is a simple, one layer card - I used an older circle stencil to create a spotlight in the centre of the card to highlight the beautiful songbird and the sentiment. My next card is one I will share with a friend who is a breast cancer survivor. I white embossed the Hope Ribbons stamp multiple times onto some pick cardstock (lining up the image so that is a continuous image on the card) and white embossed the image. I cut the panel and added it to a white card base, then added a layered "love ya" sentiment. I finished with a scattering of sequins. This next card is a little outside my comfort zone! I started with a piece of black cardstock and added the Evergreens stencil to add paper glazes using a foam ink blending tool. (There was some glitter stuck on my pink foam in blending tool, which added a little certain something to my card!) I added green, blue and pink to mimic the Aurora Australis (or Borealis, depending on where you live!). I finished with a white embossed sentiment. There is a video of how I made this card on the Picket Fence Studios YouTube channel! All of the products in the new release are linked below - it's a great release with such a great variety of images! I know you're going to love it! Thanks for visiting :)

Lovely Summer Card with Larisa

by Larisa Hohman on Aug 12 2020
Hello!  Larisa here and today I have a lovely summer card to share with you.  As school is starting back and summer is winding down, I thought it would be fitting to create a card using this Beautiful Girl Kendyll Stamp and Lovely Word Die.   To create my card, I started with some patterned papers in my stash.  The background paper is a white ship-lap pattern.  I trimmed that to fit the front of my card base.  Then I die cut a stitched square from blue striped paper and mounted that on a piece of grey card stock.  I adhered that towards the top of my card.  Then I trimmed a piece of red polka dot paper and layered that underneath.  Using the Lovely Die, I die cut the word from navy blue card stock and layered that on top of a white background layer, cut with the same die set.  By the way, I absolutely LOVE this die.  I will probably be using it on all sort of cards in the future.  Just a head up. LOL.  For my image, I stamped the girl out in tan ink on Copic-friendly paper.  Then I used Copic Markers to color her in.  For her eyes and eyebrows, I used a Copic Multi-liner.  After, I was finished coloring, I used the coordinating die to cut her out and popped her on my card using foam tape.  I layered the Lovely Word Die on top with foam tape as well.  And there you have it.  One Lovely Summer Card.   Beautiful Girl - Kendyll Kendyll Girl Coordinating Die Lovely Word Die Copic Colors: Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04, R20 Hair: E43, E47, E49 Red: R35, R37, R56, R59 White: W0, W1, W3 White Flower: E50, E53, E33 Green: YG21, YG23, YG25 Brown Drink: E35, E57 Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Early Tulip Bouquet Card

by Becky Roberts on Aug 07 2020
Hello Stampers and Happy Friday! Becky Roberts here from Inking Idaho with a pretty tulip card.  We have a very, very short window of tulip growth here in Idaho, so when I see them I really enjoy them.  I stamped the Early Tulip Bouquet stamp with the Picket Fence Black ink pad.  I colored it in with a few Copic markers and then hand cut it out.  I turned the image over and on the backside, gently rubbed with a big ball stylus giving each flower a little bubble shape to it.  Then I added a foam square to the center of each of those areas and placed it on a piece of 4" x 5-1/4" cardstock.  That way it is popped up and has a little rounded shape to each flower. I used the Fancy Kaleidoscope Stencil (one of my personal favorites!) and Distress Oxide ink with the Life Changing Blender Brushes on the card panel before adhering it to a folder card.  Then I ripped it off really fast because I noticed the card was upside down...don't tell me you've never done that! *Ü* Early Tulip Bouquet Fancy Kaleidoscope Stencil Life Changing Blender Brushes   Have a lovely weekend! Hello friends! Today I’m up at Picket Fence Studios Blog sharing this shaker card featuring the Peony Foil Impression Die, the Brocade Stencil and Spiked Ocean Water Sequin Mix. Let’s begin! Using the Peony Foil Impression Die and gold foil on a white cardstock I foiled the peony with the help of a Gemini Foilpress machine. Then, I die cut the flower using the matching die and reserved it. Next, on a white panel I created an ombré look using different shades of blues with the help of my Life Changing Blender Brushes. Once my panel was dry, I placed the Brocade Stencil on top and applied white ink. Additionally, I heat embossed the Hello sentiment from the Fancy Sentiments Stamp Set with WOW! Metallic Gold Embossing Powder. I added a clear plastic bag to my panel that I trimmed down and secured at the back using double sided tape. Before closing the panel I put the Spiked Ocean Water Sequin Mix inside. Finally, I adhered a white folded note card at the back and placed the foiled peony on top using foam tape. Now my card was done! I hope you enjoyed this easy and fun shaker inspiration. Have a phenomenal day! Karen

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

I unapologetically love Christmas!  Lucky for me Picket Fence Studios July Release features several new Christmas items.  For the first two cards, I used the beautiful Brocade Stencil which is not really a Christmas stencil but paired with Christmas colors and a Christmas sentiment it's Christmasy!  The sentiment is included in the wonderful Believe in the Magic set. I don't have a lot of variety in my watercolor powder colors so I decided to change the look of my powders a bit by first brushing Distress Ink through the Brocade Stencil with my Life Changing Blender Brushes.  (also sold in a discount Bundle) Next, I spritzed the paper with water and tapped on the watercolor powder.  I love how the Distress ink changes the color just enough to give me a bit of variety.  I wanted to cover up as little as possible of this interesting background so centered the sentiment from Believe in the Magic. For my last card of the day, I departed from my favorite theme and created something lovely using A Rose.  I created the background several months ago and then set it aside. This week it all came together with the help of an art prompt challenge on FB.  The sentiment is found in More Fancy Sentiments and then I sprinkled a few yummy Margarita Sequins!  And that's it.  A quick yet beautiful card to let someone know they are being thought of. Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have enjoyed the inspiration! Angie

Jack O Lantern Coloured Pencils Card with Erica

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Jul 28 2020

BOO! Or hi, rather.  It's Erica on the blog today with a spooktacular card, using the new Jack O Lantern stamp. I've tried my hand at coloured pencils on black card stock, but I was really rusty so it's not as blended or as crisp as I imagined it in my head.  I stamped the Jack O Lantern stamp up on black card stock, with the help of my MISTI. This is done with the Embossing Pad from WOW! Embossing and heat embossed with Clear Gloss embossing powder. What I should have done here is stamped it up with a pigment ink, coloured it in and then heat embossed on top. You do get much cleaner lines that way. Oh well, another memo for self for another time.  As the card stock is black, I laid down a layer of Cream first. The pencils I have used are Prismacolour.  To get some highlights on the pumpkins, I next added a yellow layer. At this stage it looks a real mess, I will confess, however as with most colouring, it's key to be patient.  Next, I have gone in with my darkest colour. This is actually a reddish colour, Light Cadmium Red. To blend this dark colour into the lighter parts, I've used a more orange pencil, Orange Glaze. I didn't go all the way down onto the yellow parts yet, though. That's for the next step.   The last colour I added was Cadmium Orange. This was my bridge between the yellow parts and the red-orange parts. I probably spent the most time with this colour too, to make the blend as smooth as possible. When you are finished with this, move on to your next pumpkin and keep doing the steps until you are happy. I didn't do every single one, just a flowy pattern of them.  To finish off the card I have heat embossed a sentiment from Favorite Notifications, in white on black card stock. This is then trimmed down with scissors around the text to make it as small as possible. I have also cut out the word BOO using Tall Type Alphabet Dies from Concord & 9th. To keep to the Halloween theme, I used some alcohol inks on Yupo paper and then cut the letters out of this.  These bits and pieces were then adhered to the card with some liquid glue, and the whole card was adhered to a card base. Hocus pocus, all done!  That's it from me for today, but thank you for stopping by! I hope you found some inspiration here with me.  Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica

Watercolour Tulips

Hello - it's Michelle here today, and I have a card to share today using the Early Tulip Bouquet stamp set.   I started by ink smooshing some Distress Oxide inks onto a piece of watercolour paper. I then stamped the main image from Early Tulip Bouquet in Picket Fence Studios Black hybrid ink, and coloured the image using Copic markers in colours to match the Distress Oxide inks.  I then stamped the Hello from Fancy Sentiments, but I masked off part of the flourishes on the word so that it would fit a bit better on the card. Is it Halloween Yet? with Larisa

by Larisa Hohman on Jul 22 2020
Hello!  Larisa here and I'm so excited to be sharing a couple of Halloween cards with you guys.  I don't know about you, but Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday and I always get so excited when companies release their Halloween goodies!   For my first card, I used the New Autumn Harvest Collage Stamp. I stamped it just one time in Black Hybrid Ink.  Then I die cut a black rectangular frame and and created a shaker element by adding some acetate and a handful of Black Magic Sequin Mix.  After my shaker element was created.  I stamped my image again and fussy cut the raven from the collage.  I popped him up on a die cut scalloped circle from my stash and added it to the bottom left of my card.  I also layered on some glitter washi and a stamped sentiment from the Inside Quotes: Christmas Stamp Set.  I just masked off the "Christmas" portion of the sentiment.  And there you have it, a festive fall card with a bit of a spooky feel.  For my next card, I couldn't resist the New Jack O Lanterns Stamp Set.  In fact, the instant I saw it, I squealed with delight.  To begin, I stamped my image once on some copic-friendly card stock.  Then I colored all the pumpkins white except one.  I chose the largest pumpkin in the bottom left corner and colored him up in the traditional orange.  Then I trimmed my paper into a square and mounted that on top of some black card stock.  I trimmed that so there was a 1/8 inch frame all the way around and then mounted that on a deep purple card stock.  I love this stacked frame effect.  It really draws your eye into the image.  Finally, I stamped my sentiment from the Believe in the Magic Set and heat embossed that with white embossing powder.  Sure, this sentiment was meant for Christmas, but if you ask me, it's perfect for Halloween!   Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you are having a great week!

Happy Friday to you!   Becky Roberts here from Inking Idaho with a beautiful wedding card. Weddings might look a little different but the bride and groom still get celebrated.  We have three weddings this summer that we would have attended but now we will just send a beautiful card and perfectly packaged gift...the benefits of having a ton of stamping stuff! I used the beautiful stamp set called A Bride's Bouquet. It has this image and several great sentiments for that special day. I colored the bouquet with Copic markers and hand cut it out.  I stamped the same image directly on the card so the stems would be there and I didn't have to cut them out. I placed foam squares behind the image and gently placed it over the stamped card.  I used markers to continue to color those little stems. I added  Gin & Tonic Sequins - oh how I LOVE this mix of sequins!! Before I did all that I lightly stenciled the background with the Fancy Kaleidoscope Stencil, which unfortunately is currently sold out and the Life Changing Blender Brushes.   Life Changing Blender Brushes.  A Bride's Bouquet Happy Friday Stampers! Christmas Shaker Card with Karen Reategui

by Karen Reategui on Jul 16 2020
Hello my crafty friends! Today I’m sharing this Christmas shaker card over Picket Fence Studios Blog. For this card, I have used new stamps from the July Release HO HO HO and Reindeer Stamps along with Gin & Tonic Sequin Mix. Let’s begin! I die cut this slim panel and applied inks to it using the Life Changing Blender Brushes. Next, with the help of my MISTI I stamped the Reindeer Stamp all across the slim panel using WOW! Embossing Pad and heat embossed it with WOW! Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. Then, I adhered a piece of cellophane wrap from a sheet of chipboard stickers. I cut the cellophane slightly bigger than my slim panel. Then, I folded every side of the cellophane and secured only three sides at the back of my panel using double sided tape. I added the Gin & Tonic sequins through the side that was still opened and then I closed it with more double sided tape. On a piece of acetate I stamped the HO HO HO Stamp Set using WOW! Embossing Pad and the heat embossed it with WOW! Metallic Silver Embossing Powder. I think this silver matched great the color of the sequins. I also, adhered this piece of acetate to the shaker. Finally, I added a white scalloped slim panel at the back and a red folded note card and my Christmas shaker card was ready! I hope you enjoyed this card and give it a try. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day! Karen

Hi Everyone!  We made it to Friday, yay!  I went to an online retreat this spring and had a burst of stamping inspiration that I want to share with you today. First up is the adorable A Little Nuts Squirrel!  He cracks me up!  I love that there is also a Coordinating Die with this set so you can stamp and color the tiniest acorns and simply die-cut them!  My squirrel is colored a little different because one of the challenges at the retreat was to color an animal an unusual color.  I love him pink!  :)  I stenciled a simple but striking background with the Funky Leaves Stencil using  LC Blender Brushes.  Next up is happy mail with our favorite rabbits, Peach and Piper Check out the Post! It's so easy to create sweet scenes with the Coordinating Dies.  For the background scene, I stenciled Layers of Grass and the Layers of Clouds with my LC Blender Brushes.  Lastly, I added thinking of you from the Ways to Say Get Well set.  This sentiment set is a wonderful set that includes sweet ways to let someone know that we care.  I love that it has one-word sentiments as well as longer sentiments. I love it when you stop by, so thank you and have a wonderful weekend! ANGIE

Fancy Kaleidoscope Stencil Cards with Erica

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Jun 30 2020
Hi everyone! It's Erica back on the PFS blog. Today I have LOTS of cards, using the brand new Fancy Kaleidoscope stencil from Picket Fence Studios's June release, to share with you. I do love a good stencil, and it's possibly I went a tad overboard here but it just took off. I did ink blending, water colouring, ink smooshing and all sorts went on. Let's get to it, shall we? First of I sprayed the Fancy Kaleidoscope stencil with Pixie Spray and stuck it down on a big square of water colour paper. Then I grabbed my palette with Ink On 3 re-inkers in them. There are six wells, one each for Bee Sting Yellow, Marigold Orange, Marilyn Red, My Jam Purple, Peacock Blue and Goddess Green. All of these are already mixed with Liquid Pixie Dust, this creates a shimmery water colour, which is fabulous. You can see this in action in the video I have up on my YouTube channel too.  While I was cleaning up after the colouring, I thought, why not try another few things? My first attempt was adding more colour to the stencil and dabbing water colour card stock on top. This turned out fab but there was still colour left on it so I dabbed another piece on it, and this one turned out soft and pretty too. There was STILL colour left so I kept going! I ended up with four pieces in total, as well as a smaller one. I love that from the same stencil you can get so many different looks! Because I'm obsessed with ink blending as well, of course I had to do some of that too. Because why not, right?? I used a different Life Changing Blender Brush for each one of the Atelier Inks I used: Bee Sting Yellow, Goddess Green, Peacock Blue, Marilyn Red and Marigold Orange. It's so effortless to do ink blending with the Life Changing Blender Brushes. I LOVE them.  With a ton of backgrounds done it was time to turn them into cards! With loads of fun, sassy and girl boss sentiments available from Picket Fence it was a breeze. The ink blended piece was quickly finished off with a sentiment from After The Storm stamped up with Black Hybrid Ink, which also has been heat embossed with some sparkles on top. The next two are each one half of the big piece from the beginning. One I adhered to a piece of black card stock, only slightly bigger than the background piece, to frame it. Also to coordinate with the Best word die, that's also partly cut out of black card stock. The second of the two was adhered directly to a white card base. Both cards have sentiment from BFF Girl Gang and stamped up in Black Hybrid ink. One final card was done on a background piece done with the Atelier re-inkers as water colours. Here I used the stencil and Paper Glaze in Snowdrop White. The sentiment is from Charles The Chameleon. Phew, well, that's it from me for today. I hope you found some inspiration here and will try some of these techniques for yourself and have some fun!  Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica

New Sequins Mix with Karen Reategui

by Karen Reategui on Jun 25 2020
Hello! Today I’m up at Picket Fence Studios Blog sharing these shaker cards using my the new Sequins Mix. This is a great idea to create simple but beautiful cards using your leftover die cuts from previous projects and put them to good use. You can also check out the how-to video at Picket Fence Studios YouTube channel here.  Let’s begin with the first shaker. I’m using Picking Flowers and Fabulously Perfect Stamp from Picket Fence Studios. I die cut a circle die out of a white cardstock. I adhered a piece of acetate at the back. Then, I added some foam strips around the circle window plus more foam tape along the panel.     Next, I added the Pink Lady Sequin Mix on top of a white note card and placed my panel with the acetate on top. This way my shaker is created!     I had these flowers already done from a previous project and I added them off to the side of the shaker window so this way most of the shaker could be exposed. Finally, I stamped the Fabulously Perfect stamp using Hybrid Black ink from Picket Fence Studios.     On my second shaker, I die cut another circle die out of a white cardstock and I also adhered a piece of acetate at the back. Then, I added some foam strips around the circle window and more foam tape.     I added the Berry Infusion Sequin Mix on top of a white note card and placed my panel with the acetate on top. I added this girl from BFF Ballerina Girl Stamp using foam tape and finally I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set.     On my following shaker, after die cutting the circle die I adhered the piece of acetate, plus the foam strips and foam tape at the back. Then, I added the Spiked Ocean Sequin Mix onto a white note card and closed the shaker window.     I used this fish from One Year Older Stamp Set and the sentiment stamped is from the same stamp.     As you can see all the shaker cards I created are very easy to make and have the same steps, this way you could definitely mass produce. My next example is perfect for a fall themed card. The sequin mix used here is Moscow Mule. It has these muted colors and a shiny orange.     The critter and sentiment are from A Little Nuts Stamp Set.     And here you have a Christmas Shaker Card, isn’t that beautiful? This deer and even the piece of red cardstock with the sentiment were leftovers from a previous card and I’m so glad I was able to use them on this shaker.     I used Holiday Hopper Sequin Mix on this card and the deer is from On A Christmas Walk Stamp Set and the sentiment is from The Season of Giving Stamp Set. my sentiment has been white heat-embossed using WOW! Embossing Powder.     My last shaker card was the easiest of all of them! I used here Christmas Punch Sequin Mix and this gorgeous Merry Christmas Foiled Impression Die.     The size was absolutely perfect as a focal point on this card and you still can see the shaker almost fully exposed.   I truly hope you enjoyed this post and some of the ideas to make easy, fast and beautiful shaker cards. Have a fabulous day! Karen   Here is the video of how I made these 6 shaker cards. Enjoy!

A Cat, a Dog and Thinking of You!

by Angela Bode on Jun 19 2020
Hello, everyone!  I hope you have had a great week!  I am excited to share with you a couple of stencils and a sweet pup today.   First up is the gorgeous Fireburst Stencil.  I have a limited supply of watercolor powders and in truth, I am tired of the colors I have.  So I decided to try an experiment and see if I could get a different look.  First I sponged distress ink through the stencil with a Life-Changing Blender Brush (on sale now!) also sold as a Bundled set with bonus stencil).  Then I spritzed the cardstock, (stencil still in place) with water.  Next, I sprinkled the watercolor powder through the stencil.  I took a piece of cardstock and placed it over the top of the watery ink and rubbed it.  When I removed the top piece I had a negative print that I will use at a later time.  Lastly, I removed the stencil and voila!  Magic!  I adore how the distress ink changed the watercolor powder.  I will be trying this technique again soon!  To finish off the card I heat embossed a sentiment from More Fancy Sentiments and I added a sprinkling of Blueberry Mojito Sequins. Next up is another fun project this time using the Cat Stencil.  After stenciling the cat with Life-Changing Blender Brushes, I covered her with a mask.  Next, I splattered resist spray all over the background.  Once it was dry I brushed blue distress ink over the cardstock and splattered resist spray again.  Once dry the resist spray splatters sealed in the blue ink where the droplets had fallen.   Next, I brushed on a purple distress ink layer followed by distress spray and lastly a hint of black ink.  The result is a cool background in white, blue, and purple splatters!  So much fun!  The sentiment from Grace Puppy is perfect as a thank you for my cat sitter!   And to give equal time to Team Dog I created this sweet card featuring Lucky Puppy.  The sentiment is from the Grace Puppy set.  I watercolored this darling pup with help from Lydia's Video: Using Unexpected Color. Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you feel inspired to create this weekend!    Angie               Discounted Bundle

Paper Cranes & Lemons

by Ceal Pritchett on Jun 17 2020
Hello Everyone!  It's Ceal! Today I am sharing some cards using some 4x4 stamps from the June release. We have several of these 4x4 stamps in the shop and they are so fun to create with. The first two cards use the Paper Cranes along with some word dies, Hello and I Miss You. These stamps are seamless on all four sides so you can line them up for days. They make an easy background for a slimline card like the one above or a card front like the one below. You could even line them up to create a 12x12 background for a scrapbook if you wanted.    For my third card I used the Fruitylicious 4x4 stamp, isn't that a fun name for a stamp? You can make this stamp any fruit from lemons to oranges, limes, grapefruit and even Kiwi.  I embossed them in gold and turned them into lemons by ink blending the background with yellow ink using the Life Changing Blender Brushes.  I stamped the Baker's Twine along the left side in a darker color of yellow and wow does this stamp look real! I am in love with this stamp to add twine without the bulk so it can be mailed without extra postage!

After The Storm Two Ways with Erica

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Jun 16 2020

Hi guys!  It’s Erica back on the Picket Fence Blog today, with a couple of cards using the brand new After The Storm stamp set.   Both cards are coloured with Copics and stamped up with the Black Hybrid ink. Because the After The Storm stamps are brand new, I used a Mini MISTI to make sure I got good stamp outlines.  I wanted to create really dramatic and dark clouds, but not make them all grey or black. On a scrap piece of paper I scribbled all the grey copics I planned on using, then used some blues over them to see how they reacted. This scrap piece became my guide to how to colour in the clouds.  For the rainbow I used one single marker for each section. On the second card I started with a lighter Grey Copic (C5). On the first one the darkest one is C7. On this one I used a more pastel colour scheme for the rainbow. I have also used two markers for each section to get more dimension. I added two more colours, plus a darker shade, to colour in the umbrella, as well as some browns for the bench. Once the colouring was done, this card was complete as the sentiment is already stamped up on it. To add more drama to the first card, I cut out a mask and placed over the coloured image. Then I ink blended some Chipped Sapphire that was left on one of my Life Changing Blender Brushes to add a soft dark sky behind the clouds. The final touch for the background was splattering some Golden Rose Paper Glaze on the card for some shimmer. I mixed a tiny dollop of it with water and splattered it with a paint brush. I keep one specifically for this as it dries rather hard, and this paint brush is no good for anything else now.  The sentiment for this card is one from the After The Storm stamp set, and it says ‘Rainbows only form after a storm’. To create this effect, I masked off the ‘rainbow’ and stamped the rest of the sentiment with Black Hybrid ink. Then I masked off the ‘rainbow’ part in sections and stamped each section in a different colour. I have used Atelier Inks from Ink On 3 in Marilyn Red, Marigold Orange, Bee Sting Yellow, Goddess Green, Peacock Blue and My Jam Purple.  If you look closely, you will notice that I have used the colours in the same order as my rainbow is coloured. Nice little touch, eh?  Well, that’s it from me for today. Thank you for spending this time with me, I hope you found some inspiration here and if you want to add this gorgeous stamp set to your stash you can find it RIGHT HERE. Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica

I love using a gradient of colour over a stencil - I usually do this with ink and Life Changing Blender Brushes, but you can do it with Paper Glazes and a palette knife, too!  They mix beautifully, and spread over the stencil just like cake frosting - so satisfying! I called my new colour Royal Blue. I used the Mermaid Scales stencil and a sentiment from Fancy Sentiments on this card. Thanks for visiting :)
