Sunny Shaker Card

by Andrea Shell on Feb 11 2025
Hi there! It's Andrea back to share a fun shaker card featuring the Big Piggie Hugs stamp from Picket Fence Studios. This cute piggie and barrel were leftover from last week's card. I colored the images from Big Piggie Hugs with Copics, cut them out with the coordinating dies, and added white highlights. That awesome background is from the Bright and Shiny Day Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts pack, which I trimmed slightly. Using the Basic Die Cutting Set 1 Dies, I created frames from white cardstock and a yellow gingham paper from the Happy Gingham Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts pack. I layered the two frames together and backed them with clear acetate. I glued my colored images onto the background and placed some Pick Me sequin mix on top (Does anyone else struggle with how much filler to use for shaker cards? I either put too much or, in this case, not enough). I adhered my layered frames with foam tape and glued the shaker to a panel of green cardstock, which I affixed to a white cardbase. To create my sentiment, I diecut orange cardstock a few times with the alphabet die from the Pinking Shear A2 Cover Plate Dies. After stacking the letters three times for dimension, I glued my sentiment to the acetate. Thanks for stopping by! *Affiliate links used at no cost to you.

Basket of Fun: Combining Dies and Stamps to Create a Scene

by Andrea Shell on Jan 28 2025
Hi there! It's Andrea back to share a colorful Easter card featuring Picket Fence Studios' January release. I just adore those cute bunnies from the Follow that Bunny stamp set! I wanted to combine them with the new Scene Building: A Tisket a Tasket Basket Die and Easter Egg Swag Die for a fun scene. I colored the bunnies with Copics and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I diecut the basket from lavender and yellow cardstocks with the A Tisket a Tasket Basket Die. I trimmed thin strips of lavender cardstock and wove them through the slits of the basket, securing the ends with liquid adhesive. I added shading with Copics to create some dimension. I diecut the eggs from colored cardstock with the Easter Egg Swag Die. Using my scissors, I trimmed the bows from the eggs, backed them with colored cardstock and added shading with Copics. For my background I first diecut white cardstock with the Pinking Shear A2 Cover Plate Die. After masking the outside edges of the diecut, I ink-blended the grass and sky with dye inks and Life Changing Blender Brushes. To create the sun rays, I used the Sun with Rays 6x8 Stencil. After ink-blending, I flicked water across the grass portion and blotted it with a paper towel. Next, I covered the bottom half of the panel and added Opaque Pale Yellow, Opaque Pale Lavender, and Opaque White Paper Splatters to the top. Once the panel was dry, I removed the masks and adhered the background to one of the Lovely Gingham Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts. I arranged my Easter basket, eggs and colored images onto my card, adhering them with a combination of glue and varying heights of foam adhesive. For my focal sentiment, I diecut the Happy Easter Word Die from glitter and white cardstocks and stacked the diecuts on my card. I stamped a supporting sentiment from Follow that Bunny, cut it out with the coordinating die, and popped it up onto my card. Thanks for stopping by! I had so much fun creating this card, and I hope it inspires you to combine dies and stamps to create little scenes on your projects, as well! *Affiliate links used at no cost to you.

Hello everyone! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this Christmas card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "Stocking Full of Coal Stamps” which I stamped with the “Black Hybrid ink pad” and then painted with alcohol markers. Then to give the stamps more relief, I used the white Gelly Roll in the areas where I wanted to give shine and the black Micron Pigma in the areas where I wanted to give more depth. For the background I used the “Christmas Whishes Stamps” which I stamped with black ink and also added a strip cut from red cardboard of the "Slimline Scene Building Time for Tea Dies”And for the sentiment I used a phrase from the “Stocking Full of Coal Stamps” that i stamped with the “Black Hybrid ink pad”.I also added some “Gems mix fire” as decoration. Finally I prepared the composition, glued all the pieces and this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store. A huge kiss and until next time!

Have some Christmas Joy

by Sammi Offield on Sep 19 2023
Hey crafty friends! Sammi here to show you a 6x6 card made with the NEW Christmas Joy stamp set from the new release! I just love this stamp set and the cute squirrel! I decided to make a snowy night background and wanted to pair it up with the A Forest Walk stamp for the background. Here is how I made this card! First I inkblended the background with blues for a night look. I used Catherine Pooler inks for my ink. I then stamped the A Forest Walk stamp with the Picket Fence Hybrid Black ink so that it covered the whole card panel. I then took some white acrylic ink and splattered white across to create a snowy background. I then stamped the Christmas Joy stamp set with Picket Fence Black Hybrid ink and then cut it out with my Scan-N-Cut and then colored the images with Copic markers. I started with the greenery and then the florals so I could keep track of the images and the background. This was a great image to color!  I then popped the colored image onto the background with foam tape. I then stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock and cut it down to a square and used some red cardstock to mat it. I then popped it onto the card panel with foam tape.  I then added some embellishments from the Santa Cookies embellishments. I then matted the card panel with red cardstock and then glued it onto a 6x6 card base.  I just love how this card came out! This stamp set and AMAZING! The stamp set would be perfect for a A2 sized card to, I just wanted to make a 6x6 to show off a great background with the A Forst Walk stamp set. Hello everyone! For the background I used the “A2 Ghost House Cover Plate Die” that I cut in black cardboard and then I prepared a sunset with distress oxide inks in very typical Halloween colors. Hey crafty friends!! Sammi here to share a card featuring the A2 Ghost House from the new release! The new release is so AWESOME! It is such an amazing and huge release - definitely something for everyone!  For this card, the first thing I wanted to do was to create my spooky sky. Using the moon mask from the new Mini Haunted Moon stencil, I masked where I wanted the moon to be and then ink blended the sky using Distress Oxide inks. After I was done, I removed the mask and then stenciled in the rest of the moon using the rest of the moon stencil set. I then created the bats with some Black Pansy Paper Glaze along with the Bat Crazy 6x8 stencil. While the Paper Glaze was drying, I then cut out the Ghost House with black card stock and then glued some yellow card stock in the window openings and where the light from the windows shines on the ground. I then cut another Ghose House out of black glitter card stock and glued it on top of the black piece, adding some white pigment ink to create a shadowy look. I then glued the house onto the card panel. I then added the sentiment from the People are my Favorite, Mummy stamp and die set and then glued the card panel onto a A2 card base.  I absolutely love this set! So many possibilities and so easy to work with! Here is what you need from the new release to make this card: Bat Crazy 6x8 Stencil – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) Mini Haunted Blending Stencil – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) A2 Ghost House Cover Plate Die – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) People are my Favorite, Mummy – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) People are my Favorite, Mummy Coordinating Die – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! Coffee Bar Card

by Heejung Hunsberger on Jun 23 2023
Hello Crafty Friends, I am so excited to share a coffee-themed card with you today. I created this card using the Scene Building Espresso Bar Table die set from Picket Fence Studios. As a lover of coffee, this espresso machine would be a dream come true!   I used a part of the coffee table die ( I cut out the legs of the table) and made a bar instead of the table.   "I die-cut all the pieces from the Espresso Bar Table die set. I then colored the fruit and bread with Copic markers."   I used silver Aluminum foil card stock and black card stock for the espresso machine and basket. June New Release Day! - Espresso Bar Table Dies

by Sammi Offield on Jun 14 2023
Happy New Release Day crafty friends! Sammi here to share a card made with the AMAZING new Scene Building: Espresso Bar Table Dies! I absolutely love this die set! I love the retro feel of the colors red and teal, so I went with that color scheme for my scene and I LOVE it! Here is how I made this card: First, I wanted a wood grained background for my wood wall, so I used the A2 Against the Grain Cover Plate die and then ink blended it with Distress inks. I edged the corners and edges with darker Distress inks to make it looked a little more aged. I then cut out the pieces in the Espresso Bar Table dies - I cut out the table, espresso machine, flower/vase, row of cups, 3 individual cups, and then the bread, donut, bananas, oranges, apple and pear. I then cut out the tier basket out of silver metallic cardstock. I then colored the smaller pieces with Copic markers and edged the espresso machine with Distress inks to make it look vintage. I then ink blended the table with Distress inks and ink edged it too. After that, I placed the table onto the card panel with some foam tape. I then started adding the espresso machine, flower/vase and cups using glue and foam tape. I then glued the fruit and breads into the tier basket and then added it to the table with glue and foam tape.  I then decided I wanted to make a poster for the wall from the new Our Finest Selection background stamp so I picked out a image from the background stamp and then cut it down to a square and matted it with some teal cardstock. I then glued it onto the background wall.  I then stamped the sentiment from the new Espresso Yourself stamp set with teal ink and then cut it down to size and added it to the card panel with foam tape and then added some bling from the All About the Teals Sequin Mix. After the card panel was complete, I glued it onto a A2 card base. HiHeyHello - Longneck Family Kit

by Sammi Offield on Jun 09 2023
Hey crafty friends! Sammi here to share a card made with the AMAZING Longneck Family kit! This kit is FULL of so many goodies to play with! There are stamps, dies, glazes, sequins, a stencil, paper, twine and more! Today I am sharing a card made with the Hi Hey Hello, Giraffe stamp and the Long Neck Family kit Paper Glaze. This glaze is amazing! Here is how I made this card! Fist I stamped the giraffe with the PFS Black Hybrid Ink Pad and colored him with Copic markers. I then fussy cut out him out and then edged the edges with brown distress inks.  I really love the vintage piece of paper that comes with the kit. It is bigger than a A2 sized card, so I tore it down to size and then edged it with Distress inks to make it look aged. I then took the stencil and stenciled the piece with the Long Neck Family kit Paper Glaze and let it dry. After it was dry, I then curled in the edges in various spots to make it look more aged and added some more Distress ink.  In the kit are many colors of cardstock. I chose to use the darker hunter green color and I cut a piece down to a A2 size. In the kit is a small little sander. I love it! I took the sander and sanded the edges of the green piece of cardstock and then added some Distress ink to make it looked aged. I then cut a sentiment piece and repeated the same process. I then embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.  I then glued the stenciled piece of paper onto the green card panel, then I glued the sentiment onto the card panel. I then added the giraffe with some foam tape and then glued the card panel onto a A2 card base. To finish the look, I added some sequins that come with the kit.  Here is what you need to make this card: Long Neck Family Exclusive Kit – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) Black Hybrid Ink Pad – Picket Fence Studios (pfstamps.com) I love how this card came out! It looks so safari! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Plant Happy Thoughts

Hello, Eugy here! I have always had a love for indoor plants. They bring a fresh, vibrant energy to any room and are a great way to reconnect with nature. However, despite my best efforts, I seem to struggle to keep them alive for very long, unlike the ones on the cards 😂. Today I would like to share this card with you. It's very easy to make! First, I blended light inks using the Life Changing Blending Brushes. Then I chose a stamp from the Plant Happy Thoughts set and applied various colored inks to it. Before stamping, I blended them with the new Paper Pouncers. To finish up my card, I used my absolute favorite sentiment from this set. Well, that's it, just a couple of simple steps and the card is ready! And finally, just a quick reminder that there will be an Easter sale on the website from Friday, April 7 to Monday, April 10, stay tuned. Happy crafting and have a wonderful weekend! Eugy

by Laura Nistal on Apr 05 2023
Hello everyone! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "Fanciful Feather die" that I cut out of gold cardstock. Then I cut a white cardboard for one of the feathers and painted it with distress oxide inks in blue and green tones. For the background I also used the same tones, first I painted the cardboard and then I used darker colors with the "Tree bark 6x6" stencil. I did it diagonally to give the card some movement.  Finally I placed a gold strip to separate the two sides of the card. For the sentiment I used the word "Celebrate" that comes on the "A2 Full Front Shaker" die set. Finally I prepared the composition, glued all the pieces and this is how the result was! On This Special Day card

by Evgeniya Ishbul’dina on Mar 17 2023
Hello there! It's Eugy here, and today I'm sharing this bright birthday card I made using the fun sentiment die set called "On This Special Day Word Die." I've been wanting to use this word die set for quite some time now to make a special card for someone's birthday, and I'm so excited to finally share how it turned out. I love how the large, blocky font of this die cut sentiment contrasts with the fun, whimsical patterns on the patterned paper I created for the card base. Here I paired the Tree Bark 6×8 Stencil and the Presents for All Seasons stamp. This was the first time I tried brand new tool: Paper Pouncers. The stencil and pouncers are versatile tools that can be used in many different ways to create a wide array of beautiful patterns and textures. I look forward to experimenting further with these products to achieve additional unique effects and backgrounds in the future. I accented the card with some gold foil cardstock for some fun texture and finished it off with a few gemstones from the Ghost House Gem Mix. Overall I'm really pleased with how this birthday card turned out. I hope it inspires you in your own crafting and card making adventures! Have a great weekend! Eugy

Happy birthday by Laura

by Laura Nistal on Mar 15 2023
Hello everyone! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this card that I hope will inspire you!  To begin I cut several cardboard in a rectangular shape, with which I am going to create the gifts. I used different cardboard in pink, fuchsia and craft color to later combine them. I also cut some thin strips to make the gift ribbon. I then used the "A Bow for any reason die" to cut the bows on all the packages. I also used the "A2 Pierced Blanket Cover Plate Die", the "Slimline Trapezoid Spiral Stencil" and the "A Whole Lot Of Polka Dots Stencil" to give texture to some gifts. Then I combined the different colors to make them contrast. For the sentiment I used the word "Happy birthday" that I cut out of pink cardstock. This word comes with the "A2 Full Front Shaker Die". To decorate I added some "Gems mixes fire" to give the card a little more contrast. Finally I prepared the composition, glued all the pieces and this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store. A huge kiss and until next time! Laura
