Versatile Floral Stencils

by Angela Bode on Oct 02 2020
Hi everyone!  Today I am featuring both of the Picket Fence Studios Floral Stencils!  First up, I turned the Floral Slimline Stencil into a Christmas card by simply adding the Merry Christmas sentiment from Baby It's Cold Outside.  I used a reverse stencil method by blending blue distress ink over the cardstock with Life Changing Blender Brushes then I placed the stencil onto the cardstock and blended black ink through the stencil.  I added sparkle with Glitter Paper and then tossed Gin and Tonic Sequins Mix from about 6 inches in the air and glued the sequins onto the card where they fell!  (I learned that trick from Lydia!)    Next up, I used the 6x6 Floral Stencil to make an A2 Christmas Card.  This time I stenciled the new Artemisia Silver Paper Glaze through the stencil.  I added a sentiment from Inside Christmas Quotes and then finished off the card with Gin and Tonic Sequins plus Black Russian Sequins Mix. I love the versatility of the Floral Stencils as they can be used for any occasion including Christmas!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

A Spooky Day With Ceal

by Ceal Pritchett on Sep 30 2020
Hello Everyone!  It's Ceal, here to share with you today. Can you believe that it is almost October? How did that happen when it was March was 3365 days alone. This has been the longest year but also time has flown by, only in 2020. With October comes Halloween which I love, but who know how it is going to be this year right? Anyhow I love making cute halloween cards and when we got the Coordinating dies to match A Spooky Day I was excited to make this card.  I started with a top folding white card base, a black panel, a purple pane and another piece of white cardstock to stamp the image. I stamped the haunted house image from A Spooky Day and colored it using Copic markers. I created the background by using a mask for the moon and distress inks in Soot, Wilted Violet, Carved Pumpkin and Crackling Campfire.   After I got the images all colored, I cut them out with the A Spooky Day coordinating dies and created a scene. I was going to add a greeting to the front but then decided to add it on the inside.  Thanks for stopping by and I have links below for the supplies I used. If you do use the links they are no extra cost to you but a little bit of commission for me. I appreciate your support.

Quick Christmas Cards with Paper Glaze and Slim Line Stencil

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Sep 29 2020
Hi guys!  Erica back on the PFS blog today, with a Christmas card. It’s quite quick, and simple so this is another design that will work when you need to make a bunch quickly!  I started out by spraying my Dashes Slim Line Stencil with Pixie Spray, and once that was cured, I adhered it to a piece of card stock. First up was the gorgeous Jade Vine Paper Glaze, and I spread a generous layer of it on about 75% of the stencil. Then I added some Snowdrop White to fill in the gaps and also to mix in with the Jade Vine to create a softer look. Finally, I added some Golden Rose for extra shimmer!  I love how it turned out, and that extra white and gold really does add a little something special!  Currently I’m on a total snowman craze, so I stamped up the snowman from On A Christmas Walk with Black Hybrid ink, and set that with my heat tool. Then I coloured him with some Copics and when I was happy with the colouring, I used the coordinating diecut to cut him out.  The Merry Christmas in the Fancy Christmas Sentiments was heat embossed in gold on white card stock, trimmed down to a slim banner and adhered to the top of the card. The snowman followed and with that, the card was done!  I really hope you like the card and found some inspiration here with me today. There will be a YouTube video coming to the Picket Fence Studios channel soon, so hang in there if you want to actually see the Paper Glaze and stencil in action!  Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica

Hello Everyone! Today I am sharing a fun ocean card using One Year Older. It's a fabulous set with five different wispy fish and a cute school of them - plus some fun matching sentiments. I used my Life Changing Brushes and a Blending Circle stencil to make the water circle with Distress Oxide inks, and then stamped the school of fish with VersaFine Clair Morning Mist, which is a nice combination between navy and gray. I colored the larger fish with Copic markers (Black Hybrid ink), and then cut him out with the coordinating die. I also stamped the sentiment in Black Hybrid ink, and made a little fishtail banner. Finally, I added some metallic blue thread from my fancy thread stash and some flat water bubble embellishments. It makes for such an adorable birthday greeting! You can find the links below, and more PFS projects on my blog, Joy in a JAR. Thanks for stopping by today!

Today, I'm sharing a card using the Slimline leaf stencil on a standard sized card  I placed the stencil on my card front so that the pointy end was in the centre, and added some Distress Oxide ink with my Life Changing Blender Brushes. I repeated this with a rainbow of inks. The stencil is shaped so that you can place it six times in a circle and you will get a hexagonal share in the centre - so satisfying! I finished with a sentiment from the Dragon Fruit stamp set, and some Gin and Tonic Sequins. Thanks for visiting :)

Hello, hello!  Larisa here and today, I'm sharing two more cards featuring a couple of the new seamless stamps from the September Release.  Be sure to hop over to the shop and check out all the new goodies!   For my first card, I used the NEW All Wired Seamless Stamp!  How fun is this!  I only stamped it one time for my project, but the really cool thing about these seamless stamps is that the match up perfectly and you can stamp them multiple times to create a background in whatever size you want!  For my card, I stamped it once, trimmed it into a square and mounted it on a piece of black card stock.  I colored it up with my Copic Markers and added a few highlights with my white gel pen.  I thought this background would coordinate well with BFF Claire.  So I colored her up, cut her out with the coordinating dies, and popped her on top of my card using foam tape.  Then I added a "happy birthday" sentiment from the Kylee Boo Stamp Set.  I just love how this turned out!  Such a fun way to say, "happy birthday."  All Wired Seamless Stamp BFF Claire Bundle- Stamp and Die Kylee Boo Stamp Black Hybrid Ink Pad For my next card, I used the NEW Sweater Pattern Maker Stamp.  This is another seamless stamp that matches up perfectly when you stamp it multiple times.  For my card, I stamped it twice.  You can't even tell.  It really is seamless!  I decided to pair it with the Jill Girl Stamp.  I stamped her out first, masked her off and then stamped my background on top.  I kept things classic and stamped the pattern in black on white card stock.  Then I trimmed it into a rectangle and mounted it to the front of my card base.  I removed the mask and colored the image up with Copics.  For the sentiment, I used the NEW Fancy Christmas Sentiments Set.  I stamped my sentiment on a chunky piece of black card stock and heat embossed it in white.  Then I added it to the bottom of my card, and there you have it, one warm and cozy holiday card.  Sweater Pattern Maker Stamp Jill Girl Stamp Fancy Christmas Sentiments Stamp Black Hybrid Ink Pad Thank you so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a great day!!!

Be Creative with Susie Moore

Happy Monday! It's no secret that slimline cards are all the rage right now. So it's no surprise I wanted to share with you one I made using the Slimline Floral Stencil and an older image that I adore. The girl with the camera is Beautiful Girl Karen. I loved coloring her with Copic markers. They are my most used media. Take a look at the Slimline Floral Stencil and then I'll share with you how I created this fun background:   First I ink blended my background with a rainbow of bright colors. I used Distress Oxides this time. Then I laid the stencil over the ink blending and used Picket Fence Studios Hybrid Black Ink over the stencil. I wanted the black to be VERY dark, so I added a second coat. I let this background dry overnight as the Oxides need that time. The next day I came back and added my image and my sentiment. Oh - and I ink blended a little bit behind Karen. So that's it for me today. I had a blast creating today's card and I hope you feel inspired to try it. You can see these products and so much more by visiting Picket Fence Studios today. I have linked the products I used below in case you are in a shopping mood! Susie Created4Creativity

Hi everyone! Ilina here!  I can't believe September is about half way through and it's time for another release. And it's another super fun one (you can see all products HERE). Also we are celebrating with a blog hop and prizes (details below). This is the first stop of the hop, and from here you will head over onto Lydia's blog (also full blog hop list is at the bottom) Today I decided to make a slim line card and used two products from the September release: Sweater Pattern Maker and the Fancy Christmas Sentiment along with Jill Girl stamp and coordinating die.  To make the card start by stamping the Sweater Patten Maker onto Peach Bellini card stock using coral colored ink. Once done trim it to the size. Once the ink has completely dried stamp the sentiment using Versamark ink and emboss in white. Set aside.  Stamp Jill Girl using black ink, die cut and color using alcohol based markers (I used copics). Color piece of white card stock the same color. Cut two strips.  Create your slim line card from card stock ( 7"x 8 1/2" scored at 3 1/2") and assemble your elements.  Prize: We are giving two $50 gift certificates from all the comments from all blogs participating in the hop.  Blog Hop List  Picket Fence Studios Blog Lydia Fiedler Lisa Tilson Ceal Pritchett Susie Moore Michelle Lupton Angela Bode Sara Sherlock Judy Rozema Becky Roberts Karen Reátegui Erica A-B Ilina Crouse Larisa Hohman

Never Too Early for Good Tidings

by Angela Bode on Sep 11 2020
I am always late when it comes to mailing things out so I try to help myself by creating Christmas cards all year.  Truthfully, even if I never sent out a Christmas card I would create them all year long.  I love the colors of Christmas, the happy sentiments and images.  I just love Christmas!   For my first card I, used Life Changing Blender Brushes and added Distress Ink through the Candlelight Stencil. Next, I spritzed with water leaving the stencil in place.  Then I sprinkled watercolor powder and spritzed with a bit more water.  I love how the Distress Ink adds another dimension of color to the watercolor powders!  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from Inside  Quotes: Christmas directly on the card front.  Lastly I added Margarita Sequins Mix!  For the next Card, I wanted to feature the large Ho Ho Ho Sentiment but also use a similar background technique as the candlelight card.  So once again I used Life Changing Blender Brushes and randomly added red and green Distress ink on a card front.  Then, I sprinkled on watercolor powders in same color families as the Distress Ink. Lastly, I added Holiday Hopper Sequins Mix.  I am all about the fabulous Picket Fence Studios Sequins!   Whether you are looking for holiday themes or any occasion themes you will find what you are looking for at  Picket Fence Studios Shop! Thanks so much for stopping by today! Angie

The End of Summer is Near

by Judy Rozema on Sep 10 2020
We had a (very) cold front move in yesterday. One day it was 96, and two days later, rain and a high of 45. That tells me that the end of summer is near. And while this coming week will be sunny and warm, I know fall is on the way. But before it officially gets here, I wanted to share a beachy summer card with you! The NAUTILUS SHELL SCENE is one of my favorite summer images. It has the perfect combination of shell and beachy foliage. In today's card, I used a smooshed watercolor background, and stamped my image with Black Hybrid Ink. I used my Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor pencils to shade and add a bit of color. To make the sentiment (I MISS YOU WORD DIE) stand out, I cut it from black fun foam. You could get the same effect from cutting several from black cardstock and gluing and stacking them together. For the background, I used the CURRENT OF FISH stencil, and embossed it as an "embossing folder" through my die cutting machine, then inked the fish with a light neutral color. And, finally, I added a few sequins for a little ocean sparkle. A wonderful reminder of trips to the beach, and searching for shells. I live in the middle of the country (Nebraska), so am really looking forward to a beach trip again someday! Thanks for stopping by! You can find links to the products I used below, and more of my projects on my blog, Joy in a JAR.

On A Christmas Walk With Ceal

by Ceal Pritchett on Sep 09 2020
Hello Everyone! It's Ceal here. Today I am sharing a couple Christmas cards using one of the cutest snowmen around from the set On a Christmas Walk.  I used him on both cards in two different scenes, the first one is nearing dark and the second one is daylight just starting to snow.   Today it is actually snowing where I used to live. You may think it's all 2020 by snowing but Colorado weather is always 2020. It can be 90 degrees one day and snowing the next.  For complete details on how I created these cards Head over to my blog Simply Beautiful.  Below you will find links to the products used. Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember is here!!

Hi stampers!  Today's post is extra exciting as today is the day the Picket Fence Studio's STAMPtember collaboration set will be revealed! It's full of sassy and fun sentiments, as well as a thirst quenching lineup of cocktails image to colour in!  Due to Covid and slower post, I did not actually get my set at the time of writing this so I have used a digital download. I do apologise if they sizes are a little off, I'm quite severely technologically challenged and my printer is a piece of crap, but I have done my best.  The fun thing about printing the stamps off, instead of stamping them traditionally, is that I was able to foil some of them. For instance, this card is very CAS but with the foil, it really sparkles!  All it needed were a few sequins from The Pink Lady Sequin Mix, and ta-da, done!   I used an ombré pink and gold foil on this one, and on another one I used Hot Pink. For this card I coloured the images in with Copics before foiling the outlines, as I wasn't sure if the markers might scratch off the foil.  This one I trimmed down with a stitched rectangular diecut, and added it to a card base with a gold leopard patterned paper. To bring in the colour of the patterned paper, I used sequins from the Irish coffee Sequin Mix. As I printed off the entire set each time, I had a lot of sentiments. A few of these I foiled in Turquoise foil, and I ended up using one of these on my third card. These cocktails are not foiled, just coloured in, and then that was trimmed down. This strip I wrapped around an already made background.  The background is ink blended with Distress Oxide inks and Life Changing Blender Brushes. On top of this I used the Flourish Circle Stencil with Glimmer Paste to make it extra fun. Foil is really hard to photograph well, but I have tried showing off both that and the Glimmer Paste. I do wish I could show you this in real life though! It's so sparkly! The next card is also done with the Flourish Circle Stencil, only this time with rainbow foil on black card stock. The effect is fantastic! This one I finished off with just a sentiment strip.  My final card is also a pre-made background, where I ink blended some Distress Oxide colours on a panel and then made gold water colour by mixing some Golden Rose Paper Glaze with water. With this, I then drew fat lines of gold across it to add some fabulous shimmer.  The sentiment 'Wine is to women as duct tape is to men. It fixes everything' cracks me up. I'm not a wine drinker but I have many, many friends who swear it is the only thing keeping them sane in these weird times we live in now.  Well, with that, I am all done for today! Thank you so much for stopping by, I really hope you found some inspiration here with me. If you want this set, make sure to hop on over to Simon Says Stamp and nab it right away, as once it's sold out, it will not be restocked.  Link below to the Simon Says Stamp EXCLUSIVE Picket Fence Studios STAMPTember set Happy Waters https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Picket-Fence-Studios-Stamptember-2020-Exclusive-sss302210c-sss302210c/2393 Happy Waters Stamp and Die Bundle https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Picket-Fence-Studios-Stamptember-2020-Exclusive-sssd112253c-sssd112253c/2393 Lots of love and happy STAMPtember, everyone!!  Crafty hugs from Erica

Hello! It's Michelle here today, and I'm sharing a card using the no-line colouring technique.    I stamped the rose image in very pale ink, then coloured it with Derwent pencils. I fussy cut around the left edge of the rose and adhered it to a pink card base with a strip of red cardstock. I stamped and white embossed the sentiment from Fancy Sentiments onto matching red cardstock, and added it to the front of the card, along with some Gin and Tonic sequins.  IMPORTANT NEWS!!!   Click HERE to shop the sale! New Release Projects with Larisa

by Larisa Hohman on Sep 02 2020
Hello!  Larisa here and today I'm sharing a few projects using some of the new goodies released a couple weeks ago.  Let's get started!   For my first card, I used the NEW A World With Octobers stamp set.  As someone who absolutely loves fall, I have to say, this stamp set is a MUST.  I just love both of the sentiments on the set and that it can be used for Halloween or just fun fall card.  To create my card, I stamped my images out on Copic-friendly card stock and colored them with Copics using the no-line coloring technique.  Then I die cut the panel into a stitched square and layered that on top of some kraft card stock.  I added a few patterned paper page flags underneath my panel and adhered the whole thing to some green plaid paper.  Such a fun and simple card.  Love it!   Card Details: A World With Octobers Clear Stamp Set Copic Colors: Orange: YR04, YR16, YR18 Brown: E43, E47, E49 Green: YG21, YG25, YG67 Yellow: Y21, Y26 Red: R35, R56, R59 For my next card, I used the oh-so-sweet Your Friend Dear Stamp Set and paired it with the NEW Evergreen Stencil.  I have to tell you, I had so much fun creating this card!  To begin, I stamped out my image on Copic-friendly card stock and colored it up using Copic Markers.  Then I created a mask, layered that over the top, and used distress inks to add my trees to the background.  Then I removed my mask and colored in the ground using Copics.  I also added some definition to the trees with my YG67 Copic Marker.  I die cut the whole thing into a stitched square and layered that on top of a kraft card base.  Then I added a sweet sentiment from the New Songbirds Set.   Card Details: Your Friend Dear Clear Stamp Set Evergreen Stencil Songbirds Clear Stamp Set Copic Colors:  Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04, R20 Hair: Y21, Y26, E87 Red: R24, R56, R59 Blue: B21, B24, B26 Orange: YR04, YR16, YR18 Tan: E50, E53, E55, E57 For my final project, I used the NEW Songbirds Clear Stamp Set to create some fun little tag pockets.  I had the little kraft pockets in my stash and decided these little birds would be the perfect way to embellish them.  First, I die cut some white tags from a die in my stash and added some ribbon and clothes pins to the top.  Then I trimmed a piece of patterned paper to fit the front of the pocket and adhered that together.  I colored up my birds using Copic Markers in fun, bright colors and die cut them out in a circle.  Then I used foam tape to mount them on top of some scalloped circles and placed those on top of my pockets.  A few glitter embellishments, some washi tape, and some stamped sentiments finish these little pockets off.   Card Details: Songbirds Clear Stamp Set Copic Colors: Blue: BG10, BG11, BG13 Pink: R00, R11, R20, R22 Yellow: Y21, Y26 Green: YG21, YG25, YG67 Additional Products Used: Black Hybrid Ink Pad Life Changing Blender Brush Set Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!!!

You Believed in Me with Susie Moore

by Susie Moore on Aug 31 2020
Happy Monday! I am so very glad you are here today! Did you know that green ribbons are a symbol for mental health awareness? I know in this pandemic many people are suffering with depression and anxiety which they had never known previously. I have suffered with bipolar disorder and severe depression most of my adult life. Thankfully it is controlled well with medication. I have also learned many coping skills to help me to have a more 'normal' life. So the green ribbon truly touches my heart which is why I wanted to create with the Hope Ribbons stamp and use bright green ink: This is a four way repeating stamp which means left or right, up or down, you can make your beautiful background as large as you would like. I wanted mine to be used in a slim line card so I made it longer to fit inside my three circular openings. I also used the BFF Girl Kate stamp and die as a focal image. She looks like she has it all together...but perhaps she struggles sometimes too so I have compassion for her. My sentiment is from the Dad's Day stamp set which has some wonderfully encouraging sentiments included. If you struggle like I have, or maybe our girl Kate here, reach out. Reach out to me, your pastor, a therapist...but don't fight alone. Your mental health is vital and you are worth the effort. I promise. So that's it for me today. Whatever color ribbon you fancy...stamp away and have some fun with it. You can see these products and so much more by visiting Picket Fence Studios today. I have linked the products I used below in case you are in a shopping mood! Susie Created4Creativity
