Thanks - You're the Best Eclipse Card

by Brenda Noelke on Jan 07 2025
Hello, crafty friends!! I hope your week is off to a great start!! Brenda here with an eclipse floral thank you card featuring the Southern Magnolias Stamp Set from the latest December 2024 release!! This stamp set (Illustrated by Kelly Taylor) is sooooo much fun to color!! I began by stamping the Southern Magnolias Stamp onto Bristol smooth cardstock and embossed it with white embossing powder. I colored it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, then used the second largest die in the Beyond Basics: A2 Rectangle & Cover Plate Die Set. The Stacked Thanks Word Die was cut from the center of the panel. Be sure to save all the pieces from the center of the word die-cut. A panel of pink cardstock was cut with the largest die in the Beyond Basics: A2 Rectangle & Cover Plate Die and the negative of the floral background was adhered to it. I die-cut the Stacked Thanks Word Die four times from heavyweight white cardstock and once from the same pink cardstock. The layers were adhered together with liquid glue with the pink layer slightly offset, then adhered into the background. The "inner" pieces were adhered back in place. The "you're the best" sentiment, from the Blooming Trumpet Flower Stamp Set, was stamped onto white cardstock with pink dye ink and cut out with the Coordinating Die. I die-cut it two more times from heavyweight white cardstock and adhered it behind the stamped one before adding it to the center of the card with liquid glue. I haven't made an eclipse card in a long time!! I forgot how cool they were!! The dimension is amazing and so much easier to see in person!! That does it for me!! I appreciate you taking the time to stop by today!! Brenda

Southern Magnolias card

by Silvana Chambon on Jan 03 2025
Hello, friends, and Happy New Year! It´s Silvana here from Casa Magnolia. My first card for 2025 is the first one I´ll send out this year and is dedicated to a beloved friend. I thought the Southern Magnolias stamp designed by the talented Kelly Taylor was perfect because my IG handle is Casa Magnolia, I mean, it was just for me, right? So let´s see how I did it!  As I said, my card features the new Southern Magnolias stamp. It´s a background stamp full of details but perfect for coloring. I decided to leave it in black, so I stamped with black ink and then I stamped again with embossing ink and put some clear embossing powder.   I painted the flower´s background with the new Paper Splatter Opaque Copper which is an amazing color. I love the Paper Splatters because they have a lot of shine in the formula and the look is amazing. After all the background was dried I cut it with the new Beyond Basics: A2 Stamp Cover Plate die with Postmark Dies.Such a fun and versatile die! You need it in your stash, because it´s a true cardmaking basic.  I glued the background over an A2 black cardstock base which gives it a lot of contrast.   I stamped some of the sentiments from the Graceful Magnolias stamp set onto a black cardstock with embossing ink and white embossing powder. I cut them with the coordinating dies and glued them with foam tape.  And that´s my completed card! I love the shine and contrast of it and I hope my friend will love it too.  Thank you so much for stoping by the blog today. Have a fantastic year! See you in my next post, Silvana.

Thanks My Dear Friend!

by Colleen Balija on Jan 02 2025
Hi friends! Today I'm sharing a bold and fun Thank You card because we never have enough Thank You's to send out, or at least I don't! We'll be using the new Beyond Basics: A2 Stamps Cover Plate with Postmark Dies and the Thanks Stacked word die! We'll also be using a sentiment from Salutations.  First, I chose a bold, colorful alcohol inked background panel that I had on hand and die cut the Stacked Thanks die over it. I die cut the word 3 more times onto white cardstock and adhered all the layers together. The sentiment stands out a bit more as the focal point because it's got depth from all the layers! (but you could also just use foam tape) I also stamped the "My Dear Friend" sentiment and die cut that and set both aside to work on the background.  The background is a bold black and white - a classic combo for me with that pop of color from the Thanks die! I used 2 of the larger dies from the A2 Stamps Cover Plate with Postmark Dies. One creates that cool half circle outline you see in the photo above. The other one creates a pattern of dots (which you can also see in the photo). I adhered both layers over black cardstock (I snuck a piece of black cardstock beneath the dots to give it consistency). Then I adhered the sentiment over the background!  This card was so easy to create, but it has a lot to offer because of the layering dies and that pop of bright color that coordinates nicely with that bold Thanks die! As an alternative, you could die cut the Thanks die through a colorful card panel the way I did (make sure to die cut a few extra pieces or use foam tape) and then place it right back into the background panel for an inlaid die cut look!  Thanks for joining me today! I had so much fun creating with this kit! With so many adorable critters to choose from, I made a variety of cards to show off their versatility. Some designs feature only the kit contents, while others mix in a few of my favorite PFS products for even more creative possibilities. There’s something here for every occasion—and I can’t wait to share them all with you! Word Die Panel Shaker Technique If you’re after quick and simple card designs, these two are a great starting point. I’ve used the same layout for both, featuring the stencil, and word dies from the same die set as the crtitters. One card is an easy shaker design, and for the other, I’ve added a sentiment and one of the adorable critters—a raccoon, in this case. Both cards are perfect for little boys, men, or anyone who appreciates a clean and fun design. With just a few small changes, you can create something unique without a lot of fuss. Products Used: Kit Option 1 A2 Pinking Shear Cover Plate Die Swanky Sentiments Birthday Swanky Sentiments Birthday Dies Hugs For You Using the Hugs for You die set, I created another two ombre cards. I'm really getting back onto cardmaking and have enjoyed using so many elements from the kit - and adding in a few from my stash.  The first card is a simple A2 card using the Paper Splatter, and Hugs For You Die set from the Kit. I've added in the Vintage Rectangles, and Opaque White Paper Splatter to finish the look.  The second card uses the same dies and Paper Splatter, but added in the stencil from the kit. In addition, I've used the die from Vinateg Opaque White Paper Splatter and Twinkle Lights Clear Paper Glaze. I adore this sweet 5"x 5" card, and love how the clear paper glaze looks on white card.  Products Used:  Kit Option 1 Paper Glaze Luxe - Twinkle Lights Clear Vintage Heart Vintage Heart Die Opaque White Paper Splatter 8"x 8" Paper Inking Palette You're Friendship Matters to Me This card features the large tree trunk design from the kit. I've used soft Copic colours for this sweet pink tree.  I’ve paired it with the Friendship Matters Sentiment set - which is included in Option 2, and makes a lovely addition. The mix of pink tones, bunniws and woodland vibes makes me happy.  Hopping into Friendship  For these cards, I mixed in a few extra products, including a cover die from the A2 Rectangles set. The fun heart pattern cover plate die adds the perfect backdrop for those adorable bunnies! I loved the design so much that I made a second version—this time with a pink panel instead of white. A simple tweak, but it completely changes the look! Products Used:  Kit Option 2  A2 Rectangle and Cover Plate Dies Hello There, Blue! This kit wouldn't be complete without this adorable bear!  This fun card takes on cool tones with Copics adding depth to the tree trunk and flocking papers bringing the critters to life. Featuring a bear and raccoon, it’s another great option for boys or anyone who loves woodland animals. Products Used: Kit Option 1 Swanky Sentiments Salutations Swanky Sentiments Salutations Dies Happy Birthday, Deer How cute are these deer?! You can use them with or without antlers and both are equally adorable.  I've used the stencil again from the Kit, but added in the Happy Birthday from  Products Used: Kit 1 Option Swanky Sentiments Birthday Swanky Sentiments Birthday Dies Vintage Hugs For You I wanted to use this stamp and die alongside the kit but waited to make this my last card.  The vintage wood goes perfect with this kit! And if you look closely, you will see that I mixed in some of the Linen Paper Splatter (included in kit) with the clear twinkle lights and it's just divine! The Lemon Lime, and Kraft card are also included in the kit, and everything ties together so well.   Products Used:  Kit Option 1 Paper Glaze Luxe - Twinkle Lights Clear Vintage Heart Vintage Heart Die 8"x 8" Paper Inking Palette We, that's a whole lot of cards using this kit! Although I've added in a few additional products, I've tried to keep it to a minimum, and also use them more than once.  There were so many more design ideas in my head but I ran out of time - haha!  Purchase the Kit  OPTION 1 OPTION 2 Thank you for taking the time to visit this blog post today and if you managed to get through it all, well done! haha. I do write big posts with multiple cards, but this is much larger than usual - so thank you.  Shop everything in the Picket Fence Studios shop by clicking here. I'll be back soon,  taJen

Dog Kisses Fix Everything

by Andrea Shell on Dec 30 2024
Hi, friends! It's Andrea here with my last blog post of 2024. Didn't this year fly by?!! Have you guessed by now how much I adore the new Happy Paws stamp by Picket Fence Studios' newest illustrator? The images pair perfectly with the sentiments from the new Dogs/Cats Always Know Good People set, which were the inspiration for this card. I stamped those sweet pups from Happy Paws with black ink and colored them with Copics. I fussy-cut them (There are matching dies, but I didn't have them at the time I made this card.) and added some details with a white gel pen. To create the kissing booth, I diecut white cardstock with the Booth Dies. I colored the pieces with Copics and stamped "kissing booth" with the Booth Labels stamp set before assembling everything with liquid adhesive. To fill out my scene, I also diecut two grass pieces with the Grass Tufts Dies and colored them with Copics. For my background I blended blue and green inks onto a panel of white cardstock with the Life Changing Blender Brushes. I diecut the panel with the Beyond Basics: A2 Stamp Cover Plate with Postmark Dies and trimmed a panel of blue cardstock to size. I adhered the blue panel to a white card and attached the ink-blended panel with foam tape. After attaching the booth to my card with foam, I tucked in the grass tufts and popped up the pups with thin 3D foam squares. I stamped the sentiment from Dogs/Cats Always Know Good People in black ink and diecut it with the 1.5" Connected Circles Shaker Dies. I cut coral cardstock with the circle die from the Beyond Basics: A2 Stamp Cover Plate with Postmark Dies and adhered the sentiment on top with thin 3D foam squares. I popped up the stacked circle with foam, and my card was done. Thanks for stopping by! *Affiliate links used at no cost to you.

Life Is Better With A Cat

by Brenda Noelke on Dec 26 2024
Hello, crafty friends!! I hope those of you who celebrate had a wonderful Christmas!! Brenda here with a card featuring the Madame Kitty Stamp from the December release!! I started by stamping the cat in the Madame Kitty Stamp and the sentiment from the Dogs/Cats Always Know Good People Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored it and added shading with Copic markers. The panel was die-cut with the third largest die in the Beyond Basics: A2 Vintage Rectangle and Cover Plate Die Set. I also die-cut a panel of black cardstock with the second largest die in the same set. The coral panel was die-cut with the largest rectangle die in the Beyond Basics: A2 Stamp Cover Plate with Postmark Die Set. All the panels were stacked and adhered together using liquid glue. The "cat" heart is also from the Dogs/Cats Always Know Good People Stamp Set. It was stamped onto white cardstock with coral ink, fussy cut, then popped up with foam tape. I added some highlights to the cat's eyes with a white gel pen and this card was finished. I'm more of a dog person myself, but I have lots of friends who have cats and I adore this Madame Kitty Stamp!! Thank you so much for stopping by!! Have a wonderful day!! Brenda

You´re such a good friend card

by Silvana Chambon on Dec 23 2024
Hi, friends! It´s Silvana here from Casa Magnolia. The Paws and Prints December release is here and it´s full of lovely pet inspired products. There´s a new illustrator, Yuzu Nook, and she made the cutest stamp set called Happy Paws which I show you today in this card.  I wanted the stamp set to be the focus of this card so I used the masking technique in order to make a one layer card. I colored the images with Copic markers and then covered them with masking paper.  For the sky I used a skyblue ink which I blended with a Life Changing blender Brush. Over the sky I used the On a Cloudy Day 6x8 Stencil with a white pigment ink. The grass was made with two different shades of green and I put some details with White Opaque Paper Splatter.  The  stamps details were made with a white gel pen. To finish the card I added one of the sentiments included in the set stamped onto a black cardstock with white embossing powder.  I think the card turned out so well and it´s a perfect scene to gift a dog or cat person.  Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today and Iñll see you on my next post.  Have a fantastic week! Hello Beautiful Magnolia!

by Colleen Balija on Dec 19 2024
Hi friends! I hope your week is going well! Today I'm sharing a fun watercolor technique that's got a mixed media vibe! We'll be using Southern Magnolia stamp, Beyond Basics: A2 Stamps Cover Plate with Postmark Dies, Opaque Copper Liquid Splatters, and Salutations sentiment stamp!  The Magnolia stamp is one background stamp with lovely, detailed flowers! I heat embossed the image with gold embossing powder onto a colored card panel that I had created awhile back when I was in the mood to make some backgrounds! The gold embossing powder helped the image to stand out from the colorful background.   Next, I added more color to the flowers using watercolors in similar shades to the background. Then I sprayed randomly over the panel with Opaque Copper Liquid Watercolor that I placed in a mini sprayer.  TIP: You can use your liquid splatters as a spray by dropping a few droplets into a sprayer with water! Works like a charm and you have another use for the splatters!  Next, I used 2 pieces from the A2 Stamps Cover Plate with Postmark Dies and die cut through the center of the finished panel and around the edge. I adhered the larger piece over an A2 sized white card base. Then I adhered the center piece that was die cut with one of the postmark dies over a piece of white cardstock, slightly larger, and then adhered that over the base with foam tape. I finished with the sentiment "Hello" from Salutations.  I love how this turned out! It's a bit monochromatic with pops of color that help the flowers stand out! The dies add texture, dimension, and interest! The pop of white helps the color stand out even more!  Thanks for joining me today! Happy Paws Birthday Card

by Andrea Shell on Dec 17 2024
Hi, friends! It's Andrea with to share a card featuring new goodies from Picket Fence Studios, specifically the adorable Happy Paws stamp set. How cute are that pet shop and sweet animals?! I used lots of the images from the Happy Paws set to create this one-layer scene. After stamping and masking and stamping some more, I colored this little scene with Copics and added highlights with a white gel pen. I diecut my scene with the Beyond Basics: A2 Rectangles and Cover Plate Dies. The tan mat I cut with the Pinking Shear A2 Cover Plate Dies, and the pink mat I diecut with another die from the A2 Rectangles Dies. I layered the tan and pink mats onto a white card and adhered my scene with foam tape. My sentiment is from the Happy Paws set. I stamped it onto white cardstock, which I diecut with the Beyond Basics: A2 Stamp Cover Plate with Postmark Dies. I trimmed two mats from colored cardstock and layered them behind my sentiment before attaching it to my card with foam. With the A2 Stamp Dies, I also diecut the cancelled-stamp image from pink cardstock. I adhered it to my scene and stamped a paw print from the Dogs/Cats Always Know Good People stamp in the circle. For a little sparkle, I sprinkled some Moonshine Sequins around my card. Thanks for stopping by! *Affiliate links used at no cost to you.

by Brenda Noelke on Dec 16 2024
Hello, crafty friends and happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! Brenda here today sharing a card featuring the adorable pup in the You Hold My Heart In Your Paw Stamp Set from Saturday's December release!! I began by stamping the pup from the You Hold My Heart In Your Paw Stamp Set onto white cardstock with Momento Espresso Truffle ink. I colored it with Copic markers, then fussy cut it out. I used a white gel pen to brighten the white highlights on the eyes and nose. For the background, I stenciled the Fetch Stencil Set onto a panel of white cardstock. Cream Puff Paper Glaze Glass from the Felines Sampler was applied through the bones layer and Chocolate Frosting Paper Glaze Luxe from the Canines Sampler was used with the paw print stencil. Once dry, the panel was die-cut with the third largest deckle edge die in the Beyond Basics: A2 Vintage Rectangle and Cover Plate Die Set. A panel of burnt orange cardstock was die-cut with the largest die in the Beyond Basics: A2 Rectangle and Cover Plate Die Set. I used the largest rectangle die in the Beyond Basics: A2 Stamp Cover Plate with Postmarks Dies to cut the bottom layer from brown cardstock. All the layers were layered and adhered together using liquid glue. The pup was also adhered with liquid glue, letting the ear hang off the top of the card. The sentiment, from the Life Is Better With A Furry Friend Stamp Set, was stamped onto white cardstock with yellow and orange dye ink. It was die-cut with the second largest oval die in the Basic Die Cutting Die Set 1 and popped up with foam tape. A trio of hearts from the Pick Me Sequin Mix finishes off the card. That does it for me today!! Be sure to check out the rest of the December release in the shop!! Have a great week!! Brenda

Gray skies bring sunny days card

by Silvana Chambon on Dec 11 2024
Hello, friends! It´s Silvana here from Casa Magnolia. Today, I bring a very sweet card with a message to lift anyone's spirits.  The card features the new Peach and Piper: Bad Weather Friends stamp and coordinating die. The sweetest stamp set! The two friends are sharing an umbrella under a stormy sky. The look of this stormy background was made with a mix of products. For the clouds, I used the new Clouds on the Horizon stamp stamped with a dark blue ink. I blended the same ink with a Life changing blender brush for a softer look. I splattered a few drops of water onto the paper and drops of Paper Splatter Opaque white.  For the grass I used the Tall Grass die.  After the background was done, I cut it with the smallest arch die in the Basic Diecutting Set 1. For the white border, I cut two arch dies together, from the same set. For the blue background I used the A2 Basket Weave Cover Plate die to give it a little more interest.  I Stamped with black ink the sentiment and to finish it up I used some sequins from the new On a midnight dream  Sequin mix.  And that´s my completed card! I hope you like it as much as I did.  Thank you so much for stoping by the blog today.  Have an amazing day. See you in my next post. Silvana.

Congratulations! You're on the Way Up!

by Colleen Balija on Dec 10 2024
Hi friends! PFS released the most awesome products this month with hot air balloons in all kinds of design elements! I always wanted to take a hot air balloon ride, and today we can via my card! I'll be using On a Cloudy Day stencil, Paper Glaze in Ocean Poppy, You're on the Way Up stamp, and my alcohol markers and die inks. I wanted the 3 balloons from You're on the Way Up to appear to float among the clouds, and I wanted the clouds to be in teal cuz wouldn't that be awesome to have teal clouds! So, the first step was to create the clouds for my balloons. Using shades of teal ink and On a Cloudy Day stencil, I created an ombre look going from lighter to darker with the clouds. I also added a light shade of teal over the entire panel. Then I decided to add texture and shine by applying Ocean Poppy Paper Glaze through the stencil randomly. I didn't cover all the clouds as I wanted this to be an imperfect, mixed media look! Then I set this card panel aside to allow the paste to dry. This paste takes less than 15 minutes to fully dry!  I stamped the 3 balloons onto a piece of white cardstock using permanent black ink. Then I colored each one with my alcohol markers in shades of teal, purple, blue and a pop of coral! I applied foam tape to the back of the 2 larger balloons, lined them up over the cloud card base until I was happy with placement, and adhered them down. The smallest balloon was glued directly onto the card panel, tucked behind the largest one. They look like they are floating at varying height, don't they? And I adore the flowers on these balloons, they add such a special touch!  I finished my card by adding Pearls over 2 of the balloons, glossy accents over the largest balloon's flowers, and black Gel Pen over parts of the balloon for added shine. This might be my favorite card of the month because of that background!  I'm so happy you stopped by today! To shop the items in this post, click on the link to be taken to the PFS shop!

This stamp set is full of "uplifting" sentiments and with three hot air balloons to mix and match!! (Save 10% by purchasing the bundle.) I started by stamping the two largest hot air balloons and the clouds in the You're On the Way Up Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I colored them with Copic markers, added highlights with a white gel pen, then used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. I added dots to the centers of the flowers with a yellow gel pen. For the background, I die-cut the A2 Cloud Peek A Boo Cover Plate Die from white cardstock and blended Tumbled Glass Distress Ink onto the edges with a blender brush. I added vellum over a panel of pattern paper from the Cotton Candy Cloud Fabulously Glossy A2 Card Fronts Pack and adhered it to the back of the cloud die-cut with liquid glue. The clouds were adhered with liquid glue and the balloons were popped up with foam tape. The sentiment, also from the You're On Your Way Up! Peek A Boo Balloons

by Andrea Shell on Dec 04 2024
Hello there! It's Andrea here sharing a card featuring the new Hot Air Balloon Sighting stamp from Picket Fence Studios. Aren't those heart-shaped balloons from the Hot Air Balloon Sighting set sweet?! I just love them peeking out from that cloud frame! The image is one large stamp, so there's no masking or anything - yay! I stamped the image in the center of a panel of white cardstock and colored it with Copics. I added highlights with a white gel pen, which make the balloons even sweeter, I think. To frame the image, I used the new A2 Cloud Peek A Boo Dies. I diecut the cloud frame from both white and glitter cardstocks. After trimming the glitter frame on the short sides, I offset them under the white border. I adhered the layered frame onto my colored image with foam tape. My sentiment is from the Swanky Sentiments: Salutations set. I stamped it in black ink, diecut it with the coordinating dies, and popped it up with foam. I finished the card with a scattering of Moonshine sequins. by Silvana Chambon on Dec 03 2024
Hello, friends! Welcome to the PFS blog! It´s Silvana from Casa Magnolia and today I want to share with you a colorful card made with some of the new products from the last release.  The colorful background was made with the new Heat wave Sun A2 stencil. First I inkblended some Distress Oxides inks and then I applied some Paper Glitz Sparkle over. The result is this colorful and shiny background, where the inks blend again when you put the Paper Glitz, There are no harsh lines in the blending.  The card also features the new Soft Landings stamp set which has these cute hot air balloons that I colored to match the background. I cut them with the coordinating die and added some details with a  white gel pen too.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set. I stamped it with embossing ink over my favorite black cardstock and put some white detail embossing powder.  And that´s my completed card! I love the shiny colorful background and I have the right person to give it to whom I think is gonna love it!  Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today. See you in my next post.  Have a fantastic and crafty day. Silvana
