Release Day! The July 2021 Release is AVAILABLE NOW!

by Larisa Hohman on Jul 14 2021
Hello!  Larisa here and guess what...it's Release Day!!!!!  This month is packed with so many must-have products; you do not want to miss it!  Best of all, everything is AVAILABLE in The Shop NOW!  Be sure to head over there to check it out!   Today, I'm sharing several Halloween cards made with just a hand-full of all the new goodies!  All Hallow's Eve is just around the corner and this release is sure to scare up some fun!   For my first card, I created a quick and easy shaker using acetate and my sewing machine.  I stamped out this ghost image from the Not Scared You Should Be Stamp set and fussy cut it out.  Then I adhered it on top of some clear acetate.  I sewed that to the top of some orange patterned paper in my stash and before closing it up completely I filled it with some of the new Midnight Tales Sequins Mix. Then I added my sentiment and that's it.  Such a quick and easy way to create a shaker, but still makes a big impact!   This next card features the new Spider Web Cover Plate Die.  This die is so intricate and creates a total wow factor on your projects.  To create my card, I started with a piece of black card stock.  I die cut the spider web from white glitter paper and adhered it the black.  Then I stamped out and colored up Lexi Girl.  I used the coordinating die to cut her out and then I layered her on top of my web.  Across the bottom of the card I added some strips of patterned paper and layered my sentiment on top.  To finish the card off, I added a fun sentiment from the Not Scared You Should Be Clear Stamp Set.  I just love how this turned out!   My final card features the cutest little monsters.  These not-so-scary guys are part of the new You Creep Me Out Clear Stamp Set.  To create my card, I used the Scallop Frames Slim Line Die Cutting System.  After cutting the layered out of patterned paper and card stock.  I layered it all together, creating three shaker windows down the center of the card.  I used the NEW Trick Or Treaters Sequin Mix Plus.  It is a Must Have!  Then I stamped out my images, colored them up with Copics, and cut them out using the coordinating dies.  Using foam tape, I popped them onto my card and added a few of the bat die cut from the Slim Line Die Cutting System Witch Insert.  Finally, I added my sentiment across the middle and there you have it.   You Creep Me Out Clear Stamp Set Slim Line Funky Christmas Envelopes You Creep Me Out Coordinating Dies Slim Line Die Cutting System Witch Insert Not Scared You Should Be Spider Web Cover Plate Die Midnight Tales Sequins Mix Plus Trick Or Treaters Sequins Mix Plus Scallop Framed Slim Line Die Cutting System Lexi Girl Lexi Girl Coordinating Die   Gem Pick Up Tool Black Hybrid Ink Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy Crafting!

Beautiful Girl Sandra Summer Shaker

by Larisa Hohman on Jun 23 2021
Hello! Larisa here and today I'm sharing a very bright and festive shaker card.  This beauty features Beautiful Girl Sandra!  I've paired her with the NEW City Lights Sequin mix as well as the Wave Sun Stencil.  This card just screams SUMMER to me!   To create my card, I started with a piece of yellow card stock.  I stenciled my sun pattern onto it using my Life Changing Blender Brushes and some Orange Distress Oxide Ink.  Then I trimmed it to fit an A2 sized card and mounted it onto a piece of hot pink card stock.  I used my sewing machine to stitch on some tulle and filled it with sequins before stitching it closed  Then I stamped out my image, colored her up with Copics, and cut her out using the coordinating dies.  Using some foam tape and hot glue, I added her to the center of my card panel.  Then I added a stitched paper ribbon just under her and layered my "just because" sentiment on top.  I just love how this turned out.  It's sure to brighten someone's day!   Products Used:   More Fancy Sentiments More Fancy Sentiments Coordinating Dies Beautiful Girls Sandra Sandra Girl Coordinating Die Wave Sun Stencil Sequin Mix City of Lights   Gem Pick Up Tool Black Hybrid Ink Life Changing Blender Brushes

Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing this slimline card featuring the new Cattails Die, Pond Scenery Stamp and dies, Drop by to Say Bye Croak Stamp and dies and Slimline Trees Silhouette Cover Plate Die. Let's start this tutorial! I die cut a piece of cardstock using the Slim Line Die Cutting System and applied ink using the Life Changing Blender Brushes and once it was dry I adhered a slimline folded card base at the back.  Then, I stamped the images from Drop by to Say Bye Croak Stamp and Pond Scenery Stamps using Gingerbread hybrid ink from Scrapbook.com and I colored them with Copic markers. I die cut these images using the coordinating dies.  Additionally, I die cut the  Cattails Die out of white cardstock and colored it using Copic markers. Next, I stamped the sentiment using Black hybrid ink from Picket Fence Studios on my background panel. Also, I placed the Cattails and the Pond Scenery image die cuts previously colored on the panel as well using glue. Finally, I die cut the Trees Silhouette Cover Plate three times to create more dimension and glued them one on top of each other. I applied inks to the cover plate using the Life Changing Blender Brushes and placed it on top of my background panel, then I added the frogs around and this slimline card was finished.   Hope you like this card and get some inspiration. List of supplies are found at the bottom. Have a wonderful weekend!  Your friend, Karen

Then You Came Into My Life

by Lisa Tilson on May 26 2021
Hello there! Lisa here today to share a card with you using the new Dream With Me Cover Plate die. As soon as I saw this die, I knew I would want to use it as a silhouette. But don't let that limit you, you can die cut and watercolour it or ink blend over it, or colour it with markers, like you can with many dies. But I wanted a dreamy night time sky, behind the silhouette. To start, I took some Arches Cold Pressed cardstock and watercoloured the background using Gansai Tambi paints - numbers 63, 62, 60 and 20.  Number 20 is actually black and that ended up getting hidden just behind the die in the end. As always with watercolour I work in layers, letting each layer dry in between. I worked my colours down the card panel to just over half way. I wanted to keep the bottom area white and free to highlight the girl on the swing. Once dry, I adhered this to a top folding notecard. I took some black cardstock and ran it through the die cutting machine with the cover plate die and then I adhered gold cardstock behind, so that the stars and moon would stand out against the black. This was then glued down over the top of the watercolored panel. Before gluing it down, I went around the edges with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker so that you couldn't see any gold peeking out anywhere. To finish I popped the card in the MISTI and stamped a sentiment from Que Sera Sera using Black Hybrid Ink. I thought that the sentiment was just perfect for the mood of the card and the vibe of someone travelling through the sky and arriving into someone's world. If I told you how long it takes me to find sentiments to go on my cards, you probably wouldn't believe it! I'm very fussy about having the right font, composition and meaning on a card. Rooting around all my sets is all part of the fun of cardmaking! Thanks for stopping by, and I'll see you again soon. Happy crafting!

Just Because

by Ceal Pritchett on May 19 2021
Happy Wednesday! It's Ceal here. Today I am sharing a card using the Tropical Hibiscus Bouquet stamp set.  To create this card I started with a white top folding card base, a black panel and a white heavystock panel for the image. I stamped the image with our black hybrid ink and then watercolored it using Karin markers. I love how these watercolor markers have so much pigment and are so bright.  For the greeting I used a sentiment from the More Fancy Sentiments stamp set stamped in versamark ink on black and then embossed with white powder. I used the More Fancy Sentiments die to cut it out.  Supply List with affiliate links at no extra cost to you.

Hello Everyone! It's Ceal. Today I am sharing a zen card with you using two of the  new slimline inserts. To create this card I started with a white slimline card base and a panel of white heavystock cut down with the SLDCS Nested Rectangles.  I cut out the Tree Insert in the center of the panel and then cut out the Mushroom Insert on both sides.  I watercolored all three using Daniel Smith watercolors and added the panel to the base.  To finish the card I added a sentiment from the Early Tulips set.

Background Focus

by Angela Bode on Apr 09 2021
Hello!  Happy Friday to you!  Today I am featuring three cards with a focus on the backgrounds!  My first card features the beautiful Slimline Mermaid Scale Stencil.  I ink blended with reactive inks and LC Blending Brushes, then sprinkled with water for a fun splattered look!  I die-cut the whale and small fish with the Mermaids of the Sea Coordinating Die.  The Hello is specially made for the larger slimline size!  Using the Nested Rectangle Slimline Die-Cutting System adds a lovely stitched finish to the layers. Lastly, I randomly sprinkled a few Shark Bite Sequins.    Next, I am featuring the beautiful English Brick Wall 6x6 stencil.  I created a brick wall by ink blending a variety of colors with my LC Blender Brushes.  Next, I stamped and colored a fox from the  Like a Crafty Fox Set. (this set is currently selling at an unbelievable discount! Get him while supplies last!).  I used just the Hey from Hey You Die and then finished off the sentiment by creating a sentiment from the Ways to Express Yourself set.  Lastly, I sprinkled three Fire Gems for a little sparkle! For my last focus on backgrounds. I used the Netting Cover Plate Die.  I also splattered the  background first with Pink Carnation Paper Glaze mixed with water and then Snowdrop White Paper Glaze mixed with water. I decorated the underwater scene with fish from Mermaid of the Sea Coordinating Dies.  I added sea grass from Things on the Sea Floor and the Coordinating Die.  The sentiment is I Love You sentiment and cut it out with the Coordinating Die.  Lastly, I sprinkled a few Purple-Rita Sequins (I just LOVE this mix!).  Last but not least, I created a slimline with I hope you found lots to inspire you today! Hugs! Angie

Follow your Path

by Ceal Pritchett on Apr 07 2021
Hey Y'all! It's Ceal here. Today I am sharing a couple slimline cards using some of the amazing March products . First up, I created this shaker card using the Fish for Infinity Slimline stencil, some distress inks, sequins and diecuts.  I started by creating a background using distress inks in Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers.  I used the SLDCS to cut a frame for the shaker. I placed the Fish for Infinity stencil down on the base using Pixie Spray and blended Blueprint Sketch distress ink over it. Next I stamped the  sentiment from the Follow Your Path set which happens to be at a great price right now on the background I had created and added it to the front. Next I created the confetti for the shaker, to do this I die cut several of the whales from the Mermaids of the Sea die set in holographic papers and then added some of the Sharkbite Sequin Mix and the Oceans of Green Gem Mix. For my next card I used the Whales & Mermaids Slimline Stencil and some paper glazes.  For this card I started with a background I created using Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch distress inks. After the background was dry I placed the Whales & Mermaids Slimline Stencil down with Pixie Spray. I mixed some of the new Paper Glaze Enhancer with Mint Hydrangea Paper Glaze and spread it across the whale part of the stencil, I also watered down some Artemisia Silver Paper Glaze and added it on top to get the blueish gray color. For underneath I mixed some Artemisia Silver with some glitter.

Two Eye-Catching Cards with Larisa

by Larisa Hohman on Mar 31 2021
Hello!  Larisa here and today, I'm sharing bold and bright cards that are sure to grab your attention.  Both feature products from the new release and both have vivid pops of color that catch your attention!   My first card features the NEW Mail's Here Stamp.  To begin, I stamped out the Raining Envelopes Stamp a couple of times.  This Building Backgrounds stamp is perfect because it lines up perfectly.  You can stamp it and infinite number of times to create any sized background!  I colored my background using a light teal Copic Marker (BG10).  Then I added a strip of red polka dot paper to the bottom and trimmed it to fit my card base.  I also layered the panel on some light grey card stock and trimmed to fit.  For the hello sentiment, I die cut it in bright blue card stock and blue foam.  I adhered the two layers together and added them to the card panel just above the polka dot paper.  I love the dimension this technique adds!  Then, I stamped out the Mail's Here image, colored it up to match, and cut it with the coordinating die.  After adhering that to the panel, I also added "my dear friend" sentiment just below it from the More Fancy Sentiments Stamp set.   For my next card, I decided to create a shaker card using the NEW Purple-Rita Sequin Mix.  I started with a piece of purple card stock and added some tulle to the top of it.  I stitched down the sides with my sewing machine and filled it with my sequins.  Then I used the Netting Cover Plate to cut a piece of white card stock and I adhered that to my card panel only in the center of the card where I knew the glue would be covered.  I stamped out the Lilies For Spring and Kylee Girl images, colored them up, and cut them out using the coordinating dies.  I layered them on top of my card panel using foam tape and a bit of hot glue to make sure they were stuck down well.  My sentiment from the Job Well Done Set finishes it off!   Products Used: Mail's Here Mail's Here Coordinating Die Raining Envelopes Kylee Girl Kylee Girl Coordinating Die Purple-Rita Sequin Mix Lillies For Spring Lilies For Spring Coordinating Die Job Well Done More Fancy Sentiments Clear Stamp More Fancy Sentiments Die Netting Cover Plate Die Slim Line Oversized Hello Word Die   Gem Pick Up Tool Black Hybrid Ink Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

A bride's Bouquet Slimline Shaker Card

by Sandi MacIver on Mar 26 2021
Hi friends, it's Sandi here from sandimaciver.com and today I have A Bride's Bouquet Slimline Shaker Card to share with you.I'm in love with slimline cards and a shaker card is an added bonus don't you think. Start with the background using the Slim Line Nested Rectangles Dies to die cut a slimline background. Next, cover the background with the Slimline Broken Fence stencil and secured it.  Add Paper Glaze randomly over the background in Peony Pink and Pink Carnation (they are truly stunning together), and blend them by pulling the pallet knife down the entire length of the background a couple of times. Then, set this piece aside to dry. By using the small and large of the Slim Line Nested Rectangles together, you create a white frame for your card with a pretty stitched edge.  I tape them together and die cut them both at once. Next, add a thin line of white glue around the back and attach a piece of acetate cut the same size. By adding a thin line of foam tape all around the back of this, you create the void in the center for the "shaker guts".....Picket Fence has a beautiful selection of sequins that are perfect guts, and I chose the Gin and Tonic Mix for today's card. Pile a heaping teaspoon into the center of the dry background and then attach the frame piece you just created, pressing firmly around the edges to ensure it's sealed. Next, attach it to a white card base.  This one is 7-1/2 x 9, scored and folded at 3-3/4. I used my Misti to stamp the floral image twice in Black Hybrid Ink before coloring it with my copics.  Then I cut them out and added them to both ends of my card. Finally, I die cut the sentiment in Gina K Dusty Rose and White cardstock and attached it to the center of my card. There you go....a pretty floral for spring, just change out the sentiment for whatever event you are celebrating. (and I'm sorry, it seems I used a retired sentiment die as I can't find it in the store so I've linked a couple the same size that would work). Hope you enjoyed my share today and below are the products I used.  Compensated affiliate links used, at no additional cost to you.

Live Today

by Lisa Tilson on Mar 24 2021
Hi everyone, Lisa here today to share how I made this slim line shaker using lots of lovely goodies from the fabulous March release. I began by taking the largest of the two rectangle dies from the Slim Line Die Cutting System (8.5" x 3.5") and I die cut a panel of white cardstock. I took the Slim Line Fish For Infinity Stencil and secured it from behind. To the side I laid down a bit of Mint Hydrangea, Succulent Green and Ocean Poppy Paper Glazes onto a glass mat, and then added equal amounts of Paper Glaze Enhancer into each. This turns the Paper Glaze into much for of a matt/textured finish and I love how it looks. I then applied all three of these through the stencil using a spatula from the Mixed Media Spatulas to create an ombre look. These glazes - so so pretty - with our without the enhancer! Hopefully you can see the texture in the picture below. I set it aside to dry and then took two dies from the Slim Line Nested Rectangles Die set and cut a stitched frame from white cardstock. Using double sided tape, I then added some acetate to the back, followed by thin strips of foam tape. The nested rectangles die set works in conjunction with the slim line die cutting system and gives you even more options for creating your cards - the sky is the limit! Once the fish panel was dry, I used double sided tape to adhere it to a base card after stamping a sentiment from BFF Favorite Hello in the top right circular area. For my shaker mix I used the new mix called Aqua Seas and Spring Fling from a few months back - they go beautifully together. I carefully placed a whole bunch of them down over the panel and then removed the backing from the foam tape, placed the acetate panel over the top, securing the sequins inside. I just love the noise that a shaker makes and I adore the paper glazes so this card was really fun to make. I hope that you'll give the Paper Glaze Enhancer a try - it is so fun to stretch the use of the Paper Glaze and create a different look to your card. See you next time!

Hello!  Larisa here!  Today, I'm bringing you Beautiful Girl Madelyn with some retro vibes.  Picket Fence Studios has some of the most beautiful stamps out there!  I just love creating with the Beautiful Girls Line.   To create my card, I started with some patterned paper and trimmed it to fit the front of my card. Then I layered that on top of some lime green paper and adhered it to my card base.  Then I stamped out my image, colored her up with Copics and cut her out using the coordinating die.  I centered her on my card panel and added some die cut music notes around her.  Then I die cut and layered up the "hey you" word die in coordinating colors.  To give it some dimension, I layered it on top of some foam and then added it just below my image.  The "break a leg" sentiment from the NEW Ways To Express Yourself Set finishes it off.   , Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy Crafting! Hello!  I hope wherever you are the sun is shining and warming up your part of the world!  I have a couple of cards to share with you featuring sunshine and rainbows! First, is this super fun rainbow featuring the Slim Line Movement Stencil.  This is such a fun stencil as it gives the illusion of dimension!  I used the Slim Line Die Cutting System and cut 3 circles out to create space for a scene. Did you know that Picket Fence Studios has a brand new Slim Line Nested Rectangles Die Cutting System out?  It has four stitched layers, slimline label dies and four, word dies!  It's available now with no waiting for preorder or the next monthly release! I used the Cloud Coverage Stencil and LC Blender Brushes for the background. The image is from After the Storm, and the sentiment is from the Hello set.   For my next card, I inked up the beautiful Wave Sun Stencil with LC Blender Brushes.  Don't you just love the curling rays of this sun? I love the image of feminine hands raised from the BFF Favorite Hello Set.  When we come together from diverse backgrounds with love and care for one another nothing can stop us!  The sentiment is from the lovely Wild Peonies set.  Lastly, I sprinkled some Fire Gems! Hey Y'all  It's Ceal , here. Today I am sharing a couple cards using quite a few of the same products like the Que Sera Sera stamp set, the Center Flower Stencil and the Pastel Paper Glaze.    My first card is a slim line created by using the Slim Line Die Cutting System. I started with a white card base and cut yellow front and the white panel using the SLDCS. I placed the Center Flower Slim Line stencil on the white pane and then added some Yellow Primrose Paper Glaze with the Mix Media Spatulas. While the paper glaze was drying, I stamped some of the flowers from the Que Sera Sera set on vellum and embossed them in white powder. I flipped them over and colored the opposite side with Copic markers. I cut the Thank You die out of yellow cardstock and backed it with vellum to match the flowers.    My second card uses the 6x6 Center Flower Stencil and I used two paper glazes in Pink Carnation and Yellow Primrose. I also used the same set Que Sera Sera but I stamped and colored the flowers on regular cardstock. I added the greeting from the Fancy Congratulations Sentiments stamp set stamped with embossing ink and embossed in gold and cut out with the Fancy Congratulations Sentiments dies

Another Dog Card with Erica

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Feb 23 2021
Hi Picket Fence Friends!  It’s Erica back on the Picket Fence Studios blog, with another dog-themed card. I just love dogs, and the Pet All The Dogs set has so many cuties.  In the February release there was an English Brick Wall stencil added to the repertoire of stencils, and I had some fun with it, creating two backgrounds with a mix of Distress Oxide inks and Life Changing Blender Brushes.  Of course I also coloured up some doggies.. I’m not known for being a crazy dog lady for nothing, you know. For these little guys I used Black Hybrid ink on Copic friendly paper, and then coloured away. Happy like a puppy with a chew bone! Lots of Copics were used and then they were corralled into the diecutting machine with the coordinating die.  I thought it would be irresponsible to let the dogs roam free, so I also stamped up BFF Elise Girl with Black Hybrid ink and coloured her in as well. Luckily, she has a coordinating diecut as well! I also cut out another piece, just out of white card stock to layer her up a little.  A couple of sentiments from the Pet All The Dogs were stamped up directly onto the brick wall panel, that had been trimmed down a little, and then adhered to a white card base.  Well, with that, I’m all done for today but I am crossing my fingers, and my little chicas their paws, that you like the card!  Thanks for stopping by, lots of love and happy crafting from Erica

Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing this floral slimline card using Aurora Borealis stamp, Wild Peonis stamp set and the new Thank You word die from the February release. I heat embossed this image and added color using Copic markers.     Let's start! Using the Slimline Die Cutting System I die cut a layering base from white cardstock and heat embossed on top the Aurora Borealis stamp using WOW! Metallic Gold Embossing Powder. Next, I adhered a white folded slimline card at the back with glue.      On a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80 lbs. I stamped the Wild Peonies stamp using Black Hybrid ink from Picket Fence Studios and I colored it using Copic markers. I recently damaged two Copic markers while coloring on top of a heat embossed image so from now on I decided to first stamp my image using a Copic friendly ink and then after I finished coloring I can heat emboss.      To be able to first stamp the image with ink and then stamp it again in the same place to heat emboss after you finish coloring you will need a MISTI, so don't remove your stamp from the MISTI door. So once I finished coloring I placed my piece of cardstock inside the MISTI again and inked up my image with WOW! Embossing Pad and then I heat embossed it with WOW! Metallic Gold Embossing Powder.        I fussy cut this image and added it to my background using foam tape for more dimension, then I trimmed down the parts hanging out of the edges. Additionally, I die cut 5 times the Thank You word die out of white cardstock and once from gold mirror specialty paper. I glued them all with the gold die cut on top and added it to my background next to the flowers.       As a final touch I added these new Gem Mixes coming soon to the Picket Fence Studios shop. They matched perfectly the color combination from this card that I had to used them, but they will be part of the March release. I really hope you like this card and give it a try, it's a very easy card and so elegant that I'm sure anyone would love to get it. Thank you so much for stopping by and see you next time. Have a marvelous week. Your friend, Karen

NEW Slim Lines with Larisa

by Larisa Hohman on Jan 27 2021
Hello!  Larisa here!  Today, I'm sharing a couple of slim line cards using some of the new goodies from the January Release!  Slim line cards are all the rage right now and Picket Fence Studios has you covered!  So many stencils, dies, and even envelopes!  It's your on-stop-shop for all your slim line needs!!!   For my first card, I used the NEW Slim Line Ocean Waves Cover plate.  However, instead of creating waves with it, I die cut it from glitter white card stock and made snow!  I love that it's so versatile!  I layered my glitter panel on top of some white card stock cut with the Slim Line Die Cutting System and added some die cut snowflakes throughout the scene.  For my gnomes, I stamped them out, trimmed them apart, colored them with my Copics, and tucked them into the hills of my snow banks.  Then I added some of the NEW Spring Fling Sequins and Purple Side of a Rainbow Gems to give it some sparkle.  I stamped my sentiment from the More Fancy Sentiments Stamp Set and die cut it out with the coordinating dies (this is one of my favorite sets, by the way!  Love it!).  Then I popped it on top of my card with some foam tape for added dimension.   For my next card, I created a vertical slim line card.  To begin, I die cut a piece of white card stock using the Slim Line Die Cutting System.  I die cut a smaller rectangle from white card stock as well and used the NEW The Sleeping Tree Stamp Set to stamp my tree in the center.  Then I used some distress inks and the NEW 52 Layers of Clouds Stencil to create my background, careful not to cover the center of my tree image.  I colored that in with Copics.  Then I die cut some Tall Grass and adhered that to the bottom of the image.  I added some of the NEW Fire Gem Mix to my image, matching the colors with the distress inks in the clouds.  Then I stamped my sentiment from the Fancy Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set.  I used the coordinating dies to cut it out and added it to the bottom of my scene.     Products Used: Fancy Christmas Sentiments Die Set Fancy Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set Gem Mixes- Fire Gem Mixes- Purple Side of a Rainbow Spring Fling Sequin Mix Gem Pick Up Tool 52 Layers of Clouds Stencil Slimline Tall Grass Die Slim Line Ocean Waves Cover Plate Die The Sleeping Tree Stamp Winter Snowflakes Baby, It's Cold Outside More Fancy Sentiments Clear Stamp More Fancy Sentiments Die Slimline Rainbow Envelopes Black Hybrid Ink Life Changing Blender Brushes Slim Line Die Cutting System Have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by!

January Release Goodness

by Angela Bode on Jan 15 2021
Hello crafty friends!  Yesterday was the Picket Fence Studios January Release Day so I have lots to share today. This release is so huge that you are going to have to check it all out HERE at the store!  But before you go, I have a few samples to share with you!  First, up Picket Fence Studios has three new Paper Glazes.  They are soft and sweet.  For this card, I used Mint Hydrangea Paper Glaze with the Coloring Book Stencil. I created a Diamond Cut-out top layer with the Slimline Die Cutting System.  I added the Welcome Die and the new Spring Fling Sequins Mix. Lastly, beneath the card are two of the beautiful Slim Line Rainbow Envelopes. Up Next, I have another slimline to share only this time I have switched the orientation.  For the background, I have stamped the 4x4 Falling hearts and then I added a top layer using circles from the Slim Line Die Cutting System. I made a faux shaker by simply adding a sprinkle of Green Fairy Sequins to each circle.  I die cut the new Always sentiment out three times and stamped LOVE from Wild Peonies.  Wild Peonies only a beautiful floral set but it also has wonderful sentiments too.   Lastly, I have my card resting on the new Slim Line Neutral envelopes!  For my last sample today, I am featuring this fun cloud scene card today which I shared on my Release Day post yesterday.  If you missed my Release Day Post you can stop by HERE to see the new Poem/watermark for the back of cards and more!  I love clouds so I couldn't wait to dive into the new  52 Layers of Clouds Stencil and the Slim Line Rising Sun Stencil.  The Slim Line Short Grass Die is fabulous and extends the full length of a slimline card!  I added "thinking of you" from the More Fancy Sentiments set and now you can purchase the Coordinating Die for exquisite sentiment styling!  I couldn't resist adding the bird silhouettes from the Sleeping Tree Set. Lastly, in the background of the card, I show two of the beautiful envelopes from the Slim Line Rainbow Envelopes.        There is so much more to see!  I haven't even touched on the new Gem Mixes, the 1 oz jars  or half the new stamps and dies so for a look at the entire January Release stop by HERE.  Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look today!

Love Ya, Paper Glazes And Stencils!

Hi Picket Fence Fans!  It’s Paper Glazes no1 fan, Erica, here with my first blog post for 2021!  I’ve been using crafting as a means to cope with some heartbreak and grief. For me, that’s such a welcome way to ‘take a break’ from feeling awful and just lose myself in the process for a little while. It’s probably no secret that I love the Paper Glazes, and recently I have been trying out a new technique where I have been making shimmery card stock with them! It’s super fun and oh my gosh, the possibilities are practically endless!  I have also been mixing some of the Paper Glazes to make new custom blends! It’s messy and fun.  For this card, I mixed together Daffodil Yellow, Succulent Green, Ocean Poppy and a brand new colour coming on Thursday!! I didn’t mix them totally together, I wanted the colours to show through a little bit, almost like marbling if that makes sense?  This mix I used directly onto a card base over the Geo Squares Stencil. When that was dry, I used the Love Ya diecut on black card stock and added that to the card. I kept it very simple to let the Paper Glaze shine.  The second card is done with the same layout, only with different colours and different techniques. I started by ink blending some Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink over the Geo Squares stencil. Again, direcly onto a white card base. Over this, I also added a light touch of Petunia Pink, Marigold Orange and Bee Sting Yellow Atelier Ink. The reason I used these colours was to match a piece of shimmer card stock I made with some left over Paper Glaze. This piece was created by scraping off the excess Paper Glaze I had used to create a bigger piece. Strangely, I love this bit more than the original piece!! Funny, huh? The colours used in this are Daffodil Yellow, Marigold Orange, Peony Pink, Boysenberry Violet and a touch of that new colour coming on Thursday!  I used the Love Ya die again, only this time both of the pieces. The shadow part on the shimmer piece and the words were cut out of grey card stock. I also cut out another three shadow pieces out of white card stock and layered these up.  This was then adhered to the ink blended card base and with that, this card was also done!  Isn’t it amazing what you can use the Paper Glaze’s for? Even the smallest blob of it can be used for something, so next time you bring yours out, make sure to have spare paper around to scrape off any excess glaze and use for word die cuts or the A Tree die, like I have done here.  I hope I have inspired you to look at your Paper Glazes in a new way and to help you get the most out of them, and if you haven’t tried them yet, what are you waiting for?? Come join in the fun and use the hashtag #pfpaperglaze on social media so we can see your projects!  Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica
