Let It Snow - Frolicking Winter Friends Scene

by Brenda Noelke on Nov 03 2022
Hello, Picket Fence friends!! Brenda here with you today to share a sweet winter scene card featuring the Frolicking Winter Friends Stamp Set!! I began by stamping the adorable mice from the Frolicking Winter Friends Stamp Set onto white cardstock with Black Hybrid Ink. I colored them with Copic markers, added highlights with a white gel pen, then cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. The background was created by stamping the snow and snowbanks, also from the Frolicking Winter Friends Stamp Set onto a panel of white cardstock with Black Hybrid Ink. It was also colored with Copic markers. The trees from the Scene Building: Winter Wonderland Trees Stamp Set were stamped several times onto another piece of white cardstock with Black Hybrid Ink. They were also colored with Copics, fussy cut and adhered to the background with liquid glue. I splattered the panel with diluted white gouache and brushed some Sparkle Paper Glitz onto the trees and snow with a paintbrush. Once it was dry, I trimmed it slightly, then adhered it to an A2 panel of red cardstock, then a white card base. The Let It Snow Word Die was cut once from red cardstock and three times from heavyweight white cardstock. The layers were stacked and adhered together with the red layer on top. I added some Snowfall Paper Velvet to the top edges of the letters with a palette knife. Once dry, it was adhered to the top of the card with liquid glue. The sweet mice were popped up with foam adhesive and I was finished. I appreciate you taking the time to stop by!! Have a great day!!

by Evgeniya Ishbul’dina on Sep 30 2022
Happy Friday, friends! Eugy here! Today I’m sharing a quick New Year themed card featuring stamp set called A Polar Bear Winter Celebration from the September release! After I prepared a blended background using Life Changing Blender Brushes, I created some light accent using the Winter Rings 6x6 Stencil and some darker inks.  Then I made a shaker and filled it with gorgeous A Classic Christmas Sequin Mix.  After that I stamped, die-cutted and colored these two cuties from stamp set. I love how this new year celebration scene turned out, soo cute!  Happy crafting and have a great weekend! Eugy

More leaves Card by Laura

by Laura Nistal on Jul 27 2022
Hello everyone!! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to be here again on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this fall card that I hope will inspire you!  To start I used the "More Maple Leaves", "More Oak Leaves" and "More Ash Leaves" dies that i cut on gold and black cardboard. Next I prepared the background: for this I cut the outside of the leaf dies and used them as a stencil. Then I randomly placed them in the background and painted them with Distress Oxide inks in earth tones. Then I was pasting the leaves on top, but with a little offset to give it a different touch. For the sentiment i cut the "Good day to you word" die on gold cardboard and placed it in the center of the card. And this is how the result was! I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store.  A huge kiss and until next time! Laura

Hello!   I had a wonderful trip to Korea last few weeks. I almost forgot to share this colorful Hummingbird's Song slimline card to you.   I stamped the hummingbirds images with 6 different colors. ( Stamp set- A Hummingbird's Song- New release of June)   I inked a red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple color on the hummingbird stamp, after blending the color and color boundaries, stamp on the white card stock and die cut the image.  (I used Inkon3 mini cube inks)   Place the birds of each color underneath, place the birds blended in different colors on top of them, and paste them on the cards.   I decorated with sequins around the birds.   Thank you for stopping by! and Happy Stamping!        Supplies

Kindness Matters Foliage

by Michelle Bala on May 23 2022
Hello there! Michelle here, sharing a mini slim line card using the new Grunge Foliage  stamp set. I am sold on the mini slim line design and the Picket Fence Mini Slim Line Double Stitched Rectangles Die Cutting System is my absolute favorite go to!!!  I use my Misti to do all my stamping and it comes in very handy for the seamless stamps. After I stamped the background with Goddess Green Ink on 3 ink, I added some paint splatter to the kraft cardstock panel. When dried, I aasembled the panels to the card base. I propped up the layer between the green cardstock and black card base with Foam Tape. I embossed the perfect sentiment, Kindness Matters, from the stamp set Fancy Daily Sentiments and Coordinating Die with silver embossing powder. Some finishing touches include Green Seas Sequin Mix and black twine. Thanks so much for stopping by for a peek!!! Hope you have a great week! Michelle

Embrace The Day

by Lisa Tilson on Apr 13 2022
Hello there, Lisa here with you today to share a card using the Full Round Tree Die and I paired it with a sentiment from an older set called Face The Sun I started by taking two panels of 110lb white cardstock and adding some Stick It Adhesive onto the back of them. Taking the Full Round Tree Die, I then ran each panel through my Gemini Junior a few times as it is an intricate die. I must have been feeling very brave when I decided to cut two of them and stack them together! But I went ahead with it anyway. I adhered the die cuts together gradually working my way around the tree and poking any excess out with my craft pick! This did take some time as you probably would have guessed. However, it really did make a difference having some dimension to the tree and if I had had a bit more patience, I would have die cut a third and added it on top. I think having a bit of dimension really helps to make it stand out from the cardstock behind. For the background I selected five different coloured cardstocks. I used Concord & 9th Peacock, Oceanside and Sprout, Lawn Fawn Cilantro and Hero Arts Kiwi. I cut these into jaunty triangles with my paper trimmer. This wasn’t as simple as you’d think either. I am sure there must be a quicker (and easier) way to cut them but mine took a while and involved all sorts of pencil lines here there and everywhere. Still, I loved it at the end, so that was also worth the time and I don’t think I have ever created a background like this before! All the triangles were adhered flat onto a panel of white cardstock that I then added to a top folding A2 base card. The tree stack was then added on top with wet adhesive. I stamped a sentiment from Face The Sun onto black cardstock, added some White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. I trimmed it out and popped it up with foam tape. A labour of love for sure – not that you would know it. It looks so simple! Thank you for joining me today. I hope that you have a good day, and happy crafting!

Hello there, Lisa here today for 25 Days Of Christmas Inspiration. Christmas isn't too far away now, but maybe you are still creating the odd card here and there for close family and friends. Today I am sharing a card using two of the cutest woodland bears from Forest Critters Stopping By To Say Hey and I thought I would pair them with an older background stamp. It's called On An Autumn Countyside and I love it. I think it can be used just as easily for Christmas cards as well as Autumn cards especially when you white heat emboss as it looks perfectly frosty. We all like to stretch our stamps don't we?! I started by stamping the tree onto some white cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set and then set to work with my Distress Oxide Inks. Using Life Changing Blender Brushes, I blended Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar and Squeezed Lemonade from top to bottom. I trimmed the panel down and matted it onto some navy cardstock which i then added onto a top folding white 110lb notecard. Not a very traditional colour scheme but I love Seedless Preserves and wanted to use it today, and we can do whatever we want in cardmaking can't we! The two bears from Forest Critters Stopping By To Say Hey were stamped using Black Hybrid Ink and coloured with Copics (numbers listed a little later). They were then cut out with the coordinating dies and popped onto the panel using foam tape. To finish the card I stamped a greeting from Lots Of Christmas Cheer onto navy cardstock using Versamark Ink. Again, I applied white embossing powder and heat set before trimming it out into a little banner shape. I added some white gel pen stitching onto it and then added it to the panel with foam tape. And that finished the card for today! Copics used: E59, E57, E55, E53, E51, E50. Thank you for joining me here today on the blog and I wish you a wonderful day!

Hello!  Larisa here and today, I'm sharing a fun little tag I made using the If You've Got It Haunt It (currently on sale!) and Triple Trouble Stamp Sets!   To create my tag, I die cut the smallest scalloped rectangle in deep purple card stock.  Then I trimmed a piece of white card stock to fit inside.  I stamped out my sentiments and my bats.  Then I stamped and colored my witch image.  After cutting her out, I added her to the center of the tag along with some gold thread.  At the top of the tag, I punched a hole and added some orange ribbon.   This tag is quick and easy to make and perfect for added a fun and whimsical touch to your Halloween Treats!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy Crafting! Thinking of You Shaker Card with Karen Reategui

by Karen Reategui on Oct 07 2021
Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing the shaker card featuring the Torch Ginger Tropical Flower Stamp and Die, More Fancy Sentiments Stamp and Dies, Center Flower 6x6 Stencil, Silver Bells Paper Glitz and Iridescent Moonshine Sequin Mix.   Let's begin! I started by placing the Flower 6x6 Stencil on top of an A2 panel and applied Silver Bells Paper Glitz using the Mixed Media Spatulas. I removed the stencil and let this panel dry for about 20 minutes.     Once the panel was dry, I added a card base at the back using glue. Next, I die cut a frame using two rectangles dies out of peach cardstock. Additionally, I die cut a piece of acetate and adhered it to the back of the frame using double sided tape. This way I created the window for the shaker.      Next, I poured the Iridescent Moonshine Sequin Mix on top of the background created with the Silver Bells Paper Glitz. I also adhered foam tape around the window of the shaker, removed the backing paper and placed it on top of the background to close the shaker window.       Torch Ginger Tropical Flower Stamp was stamped using Gingerbread Wood Hybrid ink from Scrapbook.com and I colored the image using Copic markers. I die cut this image using the matching die and placed it on top of the shaker background.     Finally, my sentiment from More Fancy Sentiments Stamp was stamped using Black Hybrid ink pad and then it was die cut using the coordinating die. I placed the sentiment at the lower part of the card and it was finished.   I really hope you enjoyed this card and give it a try. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day. Your friend, Karen

Hello crafty friends! Today i'm sharing one of the cards that I made for the 7 in 7 event. On this slimline card I colored through a stencil using Paper Glitz and a dauber. The products that I used for this slimline card are Slim Line Oversized Joy to the World Die, Slim Line Cut Flower Stencil, Paper Glitz Autumn Persimmon,  Paper Glitz Lime Christmas Green, Paper Glitz True Christmas Red and Slim Line Die Cutting System.    I started by adding Pixie spray to the back of the Slim Line Cut Flower stencil, then I placed it on top of a heavy cardstock. I applied small quantities of Paper Glitz with dauber, coloring the center of the flower, the petals and the space around.  The colors I used were Paper Glitz Autumn Persimmon, Paper Glitz Lime Christmas Green, Paper Glitz True Christmas Red. Next, I let the panel dry for about 20 minutes. Paper Glitz is a medium that dries very fast which is very helpful. Once my panel was dry, I die cut it using a layering base die from the Slim Line Die Cutting System. I also added on top of this background a piece of velum. Then, I adhered a black folded card base. On a piece of cardstock I applied  Paper Glitz Autumn Persimmon using a spatula and let it dry. Once it was dry, I die cut the  Slim Line Oversized Joy to the World Die out of it. Additionally, I die cut another set of these dies out of white cardstock to be used as a shadow behind the die cuts with Paper Glitz Autumn Persimmon. Finally, I added the Joy to the World die cuts on top of the velum using tape runner and this Slimline Christmas card was ready. Below you will find a list of supplies that I used to created this card. I hope you like this card and give a try this very fun technique. Enjoy your week and happy crafting! Your friend,  Karen

Scene Cards with Larisa

by Larisa Hohman on Aug 25 2021
Hello, Larisa here and today I'm sharing a couple of scene cards featuring the New Release!   For my first card, I paired the NEW Lots of Christmas Cheer Stamp Set with the NEW Slim Line Our Town Cover Plate Die.  To begin, I started with the Scallop Frames Slim Line Die Cutting System and used it to cut a piece of white card stock and a red scalloped piece to mat behind it.  Using my Life Changing Blender Brushes, I added some blue distress ink to the background.  Then I die cut a piece of black card stock with the Our Town Cover Plate Die.  I adhered that to the center of my background piece.  Then I tore a piece of white card stock and added that just under the town to mimic the look of snow.  I stamped out the grouped animal image, colored it using Copic Markers and cut it out using the coordinating die.  Using foam tape, I added it to the right side of the card.  On the left side, I stamped my sentiment in black ink.  For the final touch, I added several tiny snowflakes from the NEW Santa Is Here Slim Line Die Cutting System Insert.   My next card is a fun little back-to-school scene that features two of the little cuties from the NEW Your Next Book Dear Stamp Set.  To create this card, I stamped out the NEW Medley of Fall Collage Stamp in red ink on orange paper.  Then I trimmed that into a square.  Across the bottom, I added a skinny piece of grey card stock.  On top of that some die cut grass.  Then I stamped out my images, colored them up with Copics, and cut them out using the coordinating dies.  I used foam tape to add them to my scene and stamped my sentiment just below.   Thank you so much for stopping by!  Happy Crafting! Non Traditional Colors for a Fall Shaker Card

Hello crafty friends! I'm so happy to be back and today I'm sharing with all of you one of the cards that I made at the 7 in 7 event. This is a Fall shaker card with non traditional colors featuring the Medley of Fall Collage stamp part of the Seamless Collection. I started this card, that looks like a mini slimline card, by stamping the images using Gingerbread Hybrid ink from Scrapbook.com over watercolor paper. For this technique I also used a Misti.      Then, I colored all images with teals, greens and browns shades. I fabulous and quick way to color a background with lots of images is using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a watercolor brush.     Once I finished watercoloring, I trimmed down this panel and additionally I cut another panel a bit larger but this time out of Neenah Desert Storm. I placed this panel behind the watercolor panel and added a bit of washi tape on each side to secure both panel because I run these through my die cutting machine using the small circle frame die from the Scallop Frames Slim Line Die Cutting System.         Once I had the shaker window created I took off the washi tape and then I adhered a piece of acetate to the back of the watercolor panel. I placed back the larger panel and used glue to adhered both panels.  Also, I added foam tape all around the back of these panels, removed the backing paper and placed the Pumpkins Cookies Embellishment Plus Mixes on top of my cad base. Next, I closed the shaker window and the shaker was created!     As a final touch, I die cut using again the small circle frame die from the Scallop Frames Slim Line Die Cutting System out of a teal cardstock and added it around the shaker window. Last, I stamp my sentiment using Autumn Fancy Sentiments stamp and placed it under the shaker and this card was finished!   I really hope you enjoyed this card and for those who attended the 7 in 7 event thank you so much for all your support, we had so much fun! Also for the ones who couldn't join my class at this event, you can check out the replay where I show you how to make this and one more card, link here.  Below you will find the list of supplies that I used to create this Fall shaker card. Have a fantastic week, your friend, Karen

Merry And Bright - A CAS Christmas Card For Mass Production

by Lisa Tilson on Jul 07 2021
Hello everyone, Lisa here today with a clean and simple Christmas card for you. We all know that it can be a struggle to make all those Christmas cards so here's one that is really easy to duplicate so you can avoid that mad rush in November! I started off by die cutting Snowflake Lydia and one of the snowflakes from Winter Snowflakes (such a pretty set!). I then cut some very very narrow red, green and white strips of cardstock. These strips of cardstock were adhered onto a side folding A2 base card. The section of strips was just over an inch wide (there were 9 tiny coloured strips). They would also look good horizontally I think. I then cut two pieces of white cardstock and popped them up with foam tape over the base card, so that the coloured strips are inset behind those two white panels. Super easy isn't it? I adhered Lydia Snowflake over the two panels and one of the smaller Winter Snowflakes on top of Lydia. I finished with a gem stone from Fire Gem Mix for a little bit of bling. The sentiment is from Inside Quotes: Christmas and this was stamped to the side using Black Hybrid Ink. So you can see how this would be really quick to mass produce. I hope that this gives you some inspiration for starting you cards early - it is Christmas in July after all!

Hello! Larisa here and today I'm sharing a very bright and festive shaker card.  This beauty features Beautiful Girl Sandra!  I've paired her with the NEW City Lights Sequin mix as well as the Wave Sun Stencil.  This card just screams SUMMER to me!   To create my card, I started with a piece of yellow card stock.  I stenciled my sun pattern onto it using my Life Changing Blender Brushes and some Orange Distress Oxide Ink.  Then I trimmed it to fit an A2 sized card and mounted it onto a piece of hot pink card stock.  I used my sewing machine to stitch on some tulle and filled it with sequins before stitching it closed  Then I stamped out my image, colored her up with Copics, and cut her out using the coordinating dies.  Using some foam tape and hot glue, I added her to the center of my card panel.  Then I added a stitched paper ribbon just under her and layered my "just because" sentiment on top.  I just love how this turned out.  It's sure to brighten someone's day!   Products Used:   More Fancy Sentiments More Fancy Sentiments Coordinating Dies Beautiful Girls Sandra Sandra Girl Coordinating Die Wave Sun Stencil Sequin Mix City of Lights   Gem Pick Up Tool Black Hybrid Ink Life Changing Blender Brushes

Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing this slimline card featuring the new Cattails Die, Pond Scenery Stamp and dies, Drop by to Say Bye Croak Stamp and dies and Slimline Trees Silhouette Cover Plate Die. Let's start this tutorial! I die cut a piece of cardstock using the Slim Line Die Cutting System and applied ink using the Life Changing Blender Brushes and once it was dry I adhered a slimline folded card base at the back.  Then, I stamped the images from Drop by to Say Bye Croak Stamp and Pond Scenery Stamps using Gingerbread hybrid ink from Scrapbook.com and I colored them with Copic markers. I die cut these images using the coordinating dies.  Additionally, I die cut the  Cattails Die out of white cardstock and colored it using Copic markers. Next, I stamped the sentiment using Black hybrid ink from Picket Fence Studios on my background panel. Also, I placed the Cattails and the Pond Scenery image die cuts previously colored on the panel as well using glue. Finally, I die cut the Trees Silhouette Cover Plate three times to create more dimension and glued them one on top of each other. I applied inks to the cover plate using the Life Changing Blender Brushes and placed it on top of my background panel, then I added the frogs around and this slimline card was finished.   Hope you like this card and get some inspiration. I stamped the image with our black hybrid ink and then watercolored it using Karin markers. I love how these watercolor markers have so much pigment and are so bright.  For the greeting I used a sentiment from the More Fancy Sentiments stamp set stamped in versamark ink on black and then embossed with white powder. Hi friends! Today I’m over Picket Fence Studios blog showing this slimline card featuring the new Cats are Family Stamp and dies, Scallop Frame Slimline Dies and Slimline Details of a Wing Stencil.   Let’s begin! I placed the Slimline Details of a Wing Stencil on top of a white cardstock an using a Life Changing Blender Brush I applied Lawn Fawn Manatee ink. Then, I used one of the scallop frame to die cut the cardstock using my Gemini Jr. Additionally, using one of the circle die from the Slimline Die Cutting System I die cut the scalloped frame.   I placed a Neenah Desert Storm panel underneath the scalloped panel using glue. At this point, I needed to stamp the sentiment from the same stamp Cats are Family and using Black Hybrid ink.   Finally, I stamped two images from Cats are Family Stamp using Gingerbread Hybrid ink onto a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White. I colored them using Copic markers and then I die cut them with them coordinating dies. Also, a white folded slimline card was adhered at the back using glue and this card was done. I really hope you like this card and give this stamp a try. Have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by! Your friend, Karen
