Big Hugs with Picket Fence Studios and Gel Press

Hello! Today I am featuring cards made with Picket Fence Studios and Gel Press Products!First, a Big Hug to you for stopping by! To create this I used one of the small Gel Presses from the Faith Impressions set. This is such a cool set with 4 small shapes and 2 long border shapes. I ordered this set with the purpose of beginning to Bible journal but I have misplaced the journaling Bible! I moved the Bible to a safe place and yep, it's so safe, I can't find it! However, the Faith Impressions Set is so versatile it can be used to create any type of project, including cards! I added Big Hugs for the sentiment and sprinkled Day and Night gems with the fancy Gem Pick-Up Tool. You will feel like an elegant crafter with this Gem Pick-up Tool! Next, I created a celebration card using the 7" Impressables Repeat Circles Gel Press. This is a fun press because the circles are built into the press! I placed the press on my MISTI (now carried in the PFS store!) and used it as a stamp. Don't be surprised to see the Impressables Repeat Circles pop up again because I couldn't stop experimenting with it! I added the fun Happy Birthday and sprinkled Spring Fling Sequins for a fun celebration feel! Lastly, I returned to the Faith Impressions set and selected the heart shape press and the Flowers stencil. I trimmed around the heart and edged it with black marker. The background was created by stamping the heart randomly with paints and reinkers. I wasn't delighted with the result, so I added white paint to the heart with cheesecloth and continued to stamp. For the sentiment, I used the Seeing Double Alpha Die. This set is terrific because it includes the Alphabet and numbers at one great price point! To finish off the card I sprinkled Purple Side of a Rainbow Gems using the ever so elegant Gem Pick-Up Tool. The Sleeping Tree

Stencil Art with Karen Reategui

Hi friends! Today I'm sharing this slimline card featuring the new Oh, So Many Cards Stamp, Slimline Basket Petals Stencil and the new Gem Mixes. Let's begin! I die cut a layering base out of a piece of Sea Glass cardstock using the Slim Line Die Cutting System. I placed on top the Slimline Basket Petals Stencil and using the Life Changing Blender Brushes I applied the following Distress Oxide inks: Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch. Next, I stamped the Oh, So Many Cards Stamp using WOW! Embossing Pad and heat embossed it with WOW! Metallica Silver Embossing Powder. Then, I adhered a folded card note using glue and as the final touch I put some gems around, I used whites and blues from Purple Side of the Rainbow and Day and Night Gem Mixes. I'm obsessed, y'all

I have a bright and happy card to share today, using alcohol inks, pink foil and an awesome word die from Picket Fence Studios. I made a panel of yupo with pink alcohol ink and pink foil, and cut it with the Slimline diecutting system. I cut the y'all die from pink, black and white cardstock, and layered them offset to create a drop shadow. I then stamped and white embossed the rest of the sentiment onto another piece of pink cardstock and layered it over the top. Relatively simple, but the large word die packs a punch! Drink Up: Coffee with Larisa

Hello! Larisa here and I'm so excited to be starting the new year with one of my favorite images! This beauty is Beautiful Girl Jill. Isn't she fabulous??? To create my card, I stamped my image in light tan ink and colored it up with Copic Markers using the "no line" technique. Then, I die cut it out using the Coordinating Die Set. For the background, I used the Life Changing Blender Brushes and the Evergreens Stencil. Then, I layered my panel on top of some tan card stock and stitched around it. Using foam tape, I added my image to the left side of the card panel. Then I die cut the coffee word die from white and dark brown card stock, layered it up and added it to my card using foam tape as well. Then I tucked in some die cut snowflakes, sequins, and the rest of my sentiment, stamped from the Drink Your Greens Clear Stamp Set. I have to say, I absolutely love how this card turned out! Happy Winter with Karen Reategui

Hello crafty friends! Today I'm over Picket Fence Studios Blog sharing these two cards and I decided to created an abstract background for my cards, applying different inks pads directly to paper to transfer the ink. This was really fun and super easy. Also, I'm using Snowflake Alice Die, that I heat embossed using WOW! Manuela's Honey Embossing Powder, WOW! Midas Touch Embossing Glitter, WOW! Vintage Champagne Embossing Glitter and WOW! Peppermint Scrub Embossing Glitter. The stamps for my sentiments are from Baby It's Cold Outside and A Gnome Winter Stamp Sets. Let's start! I pulled out some inks pads with different blue shades, greens and yellow. I used Catherine Pooler inks and the colors I chose were: Juniper Mist, Daydream, Eucalyptus, Green Tea and Sauna. I swipe my ink pads in different directions covering my whole panel and honestly the sky's the limit with this awesome ink background technique. Immediately, I added some water splatters and I loved this background even more. I let it dry aside. When it dried, I trimmed it down to an A2 panel. For my next background I followed the same steps and this time the inks I used were Juniper Mist, Daydream, Aquatini and a little bit of Mint to Be. All these inks are from Catherine Pooler Designs. I also added water splatters to this second background and let it dry. Once it was dry I trimmed it down to an A2 panel. Next, I die cut the Snowflake Alice Die twice out of white cardstock and I applied WOW! Embossing Pad to one of them using the WOW! Mixed Media Embossing Brush. With this brush I was able to apply the embossing in part where I wanted an specific color. So first I started by using the WOW! Manuela's Honey Embossing Powder, I heat embossed it and then I went to the next color but first I applied the embossing with the brush on those empty areas. The second embossing powder color was WOW! Midas Touch Embossing Glitter, but it was too shiny so I decided to apply more embossing on top of the areas with the Midas Touch and I simply loved the new shade of color. I think these colors turned out to be perfect for contrasting the background. I glued the second white snowflake, a bit aside, and at the back of the snowflake I just heat embossed. So now to create the first card I used my second background and I added the snowflakes on top with more glue and trimmed down the part that was outside the panel. Next, I adhered a white folded notecard at the back. Finally, I placed the sentiment from A Gnome Winter Stamp Set on top of the snowflake. I stamped this sentiment using Black Hybrid Ink by Picket Fence Studios. Lastly, I added some white sequins from Picket Fence Studios as well. For this second card I used the first background that I created at the beginning. But in this case I heat embossed WOW! Vintage Champagne Embossing Glitter and WOW! Peppermint Scrub Embossing Glitter on top of the snowflake. I think those red touches from the Peppermint Scrub were great to create more contrast making the snowflake to pop up nicely from the background. Here you can see a closer look of the snowflake and the different shades around it. The sentiment for this card is from Baby It's Cold Outside Stamp Set from Picket Fence Studios and was also stamped using Black Hybrid Ink. The sequins is Gin & Tonic Sequin Mix from Picket Fence Studios. I hope you liked these cards and try this awesome ink background technique to create really nice abstract backgrounds. Pretty in Pink Thank you Card

I have a pretty-in-pink card to share today! I used the Slimline Diecutting system to create the card base and the pink panel, then I added some pink stenciling to the pink panel. I stamped and cut out a heap of flowers and leaves, coloured them with pink, purple and pale green Copic markers, and arranged them onto the card front. I then picked them all up with some Press And Seal to make adhering them in the right places easier. I finished with some sequins and a white embossed sentiment on a scrap of purple cardstock. Bright and Colorful Scene Cards with Larisa

Hello! Larisa here and today, I have two very bright and very colorful scene cards to share with you! For my first card, I paired A Walk in the Park with Bugville. I stamped out my park scene and masked it off. Then I stamped Bugville in the background. I colored up the scene with copics and trimmed it to fit my A2 size card. Then I stenciled in my sun with distress inks. A very vibrant way to say, "hello!" For my second card, I used the Slimline Die cutting system and cut 2 birch tree panel from the center. Then I stenciled in some clouds and stamped my grass on a separate piece of paper. I trimmed that to fit behind my card panel and adhered the two pieces together. Then I mounted that on a piece of teal card stock. I stamped out my flower and leaf images on Copic-friendly card stock and colored them up. Then I die cut them out using the coordinating dies and popped them on top of my card front. The "happy birthday" sentiment across the top finishes it off. Slimline baby card

I have a baby card to share today using products from the November release at Picket Fence Studios. I started by creating a background with the slimline flowers stencil and my Life Changing Blender Brushes and Distress Oxide inks. I coloured the cute little baby image with a mixture of copic markers and Derwent pencils to give the pale, no-line colouring look. I cut the squares out of a panel of white cardstock to fit over the slimline card base (I made them wonky, mainly because I need practice lining them up nice and straight!) and finished with a little sentiment that I tucked into the bottom edge of one of the square windows. NEW Slim Line Cards with Larisa

Hello, hello! Larisa here and today, I'm sharing two fun and easy cards using the new Slim Line Die Cutting System as well as some of the new products from the November Release! All products used are linked below. Be sure to check out the Picket Fence Shop to see all the new goodies! For my first, card, I started with some teal card stock and die cut it using the largest rectangle from the Slim Line Die Cutting System. Then I use the smaller rectangle from a lighter blue card stock. I used the stitched circle die in the set to create random circles on my lighter blue panel. Then I adhered it to the teal piece. I used some of the new snowflake dies to cut snowflakes in various sizes from white card stock, holographic card stock, and glassine paper. Then I layered them on top of my card and adhered with Glossy Accents. I added some scattered sequins throughout the card and finished it off with a sentiment heat embossed in white on black card stock. Such a quick and easy card that really packs a punch! For my next card, I used the new Slim Line Die cutting System and paired it with the new Pet all the Dogs Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies. To begin, I chose a bright blue piece of card stock and die cut it using the largest rectangle in the set. Then, I die cut a piece of white card stock using the smaller rectangle die. I used the picket fence die to cut three openings in my white panel. Then I used the grass die to cut three grass pieces from green card stock. I layered each one behind the picket fence openings and adhered them together. Then I colored up my dogs, cut them out using the coordinating dies, and tucked one of them in between my grass and fence. Then I adhered it all together and popped my dogs on top using foam tape. I stamped my sentiment across the top and added some die cut clouds from the A Spooky Day Stamp and Coordinating Die set. Again, another quick and easy card that's sure to brighten anyone's day! Merry Christmas Snowflakes

Hello and Happy Friday Stampers! Becky Roberts from Inking Idaho here with a card using almost all of the new snowflakes. That's what happens when you can't decide, you use them all! They are so beautiful it really wasn't hard. I started with the big snowflakes by cutting them in vellum. Then to hide some of the adhesive I used, I placed a few of the smaller snowflakes on top. I cut them in vellum, white cardstock and silver mirror paper. The tiny snowflake is stamped in black in and is from the Ho Ho Ho stamp set. Here are the products used on this card. Happy Ho Ho Ho to you with Karen Reategui

Hello crafty friends! Today I’m over Picket Fence Studios blog sharing these two Christmas cards. I’m featuring Baker’s Twine and HO HO HO Stamp set. Also Gin & Tonic and Moonshine Sequin Mixes. Let’s begin! For the first card I started by applying distress oxide inks with the Life Changing Blender Brushes to a panel. I used Aged Mahogany, Festive Berries and Abandoned Coral. Once my panel was dry, I trimmed down the edges and adhered a white folded note card at the back. Then, I stamped this large sentiment from Ho Ho Ho Stamp and I heat embossed it with WOW! Red Glitz Embossing Glitter. I repeated this step three times to get a bit more of dimension on my sentiment. Finally, I stamped the images from the Baker’s Twine Stamp and heat embossed them with WOW! Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. With a red gel pen I filled in the empty spaces of the twine and lastly, I added a few sequins from Gin & Tonic Sequin Mix. For the second card I also applied distress oxide inks with the Life Changing Blender Brushes to another panel. I used Black Soot, Lucky Clover and Cracked Pistachio. When my panel was dry, I trimmed down the edges and adhered a white folded note card at the back using glue. Next, I stamped the sentiment from Ho Ho Ho Stamp and I heat embossed it with WOW! Red Glitz Embossing Glitter. I repeated this step three times to get a bit more of dimension on my sentiment. Last, I stamped the images from the Baker’s Twine Stamp and heat embossed them with WOW! Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. I filled in the empty spaces of the twine with a red gel pen and finally, I added a few sequins from Gin & Tonic Sequin Mix and this card was finished. Slim Line Diecutting System cards with Erica!

Hi guys! It’s Erica back on the blog today with some cards made with previously made backgrounds and the Slim Line Diecutting System! I have a habit of making more backgrounds than I need when I’m on a roll, just to be on the safe side... and because I really like it. What can I say? Ink blending, stencilling and ink smooshing is so much fun! It does lead to a big pile of backgrounds, which do come in handy when you then want to play with the Slim Line Diecutting System. I started out by using the smaller rectangle on a panel made with the Slim Line Dashes. After ink blending with the stencil, I spritz water on top of the left over ink, then place water colour paper on top and press down to “print”. This gives a bit of a water coloured look, and it’s a great way to get at least one more extra background out of your ink blending! On this rectangle I then used the forest silhouette square, three times. The negatives I kept for a second card. These I added to a white rectangle with foam tape, stamped up a sentiment from Inside Quotes: Christmas in Black Hybrid Ink and added a generous sprinkling of Gin & Tonic sequins with the help of Glossy Accents. The first panel I adhered to a background made with the Stars Stencil and Artemisa Silver Paper Glaze on white pearlescent card stock. This one was also finished off with a simple sentiment from the Inside Quotes: Christmas stamp set and Black Hybrid Ink. Using another pre coloured panel, this one with a now VERY discounted Peony Bouquet stamp set, I used the stitched circle to cut out the flowers from it. Here is a fun tip: You don’t have to use the cutouts lined up straight on your background. On this card I didn’t even cut them out as full circles, just to change things up further! The card base was made with one white rectangle, and layered up with one smaller cut out of green card stock. This one had a little texture added to it by inks blending some green ink through the Slim Line Dashes stencil with a Life Changing Blender Brush. The sentient is from Seriously Literally, and is stamped with Black Hybrid ink on white card stock, then trimmed down and adhered to the card across the circles. I also had a background made with the Slim Line Floral stencil and Golden Rose Paper Glaze on white card stock. I love this combo, it’s so elegant. I decided to turn this into a wedding card, but had to fix a little problem. I managed to smudge the paper glaze when I put it on, I might have overworked it a little or not covered the stencil with enough Pixie Spray. To cover it up, I used the stitched circle over it and simply cut out the bad bit. This one was finished off with a gold heat embossed sentiment from Fancy Sentiment stamp set, and some Candy Corn Shot sequins along the edge of the sentiment banner. The last card is made with another slim line stencil, this time the Radial one and one of my fave colour combos for it: Yellow, orange and red. I love this look so much and made so many with this combo. Too many maybe... Anyway! I used the stitched circle again, and cut out the middle of the panel. On the back of this I adhered acetate to create a see-through window, and all around the edges and the circle I added foam tape. This whole shebang was adhered to a dark grey card base, cut to size with the larger rectangle, after a good amount of sequins from the Candy Corn Shot sequin mix was added to the window. As it’s a shaker card I thought this sentiment ‘this card contains a lot of nuts and bolts’, from the So Franken Cute stamp set, was a fun way to finish it off. Well, with that last one, that is it from me but I really hope you like these cards and found a good dose of inspiration here. The Slim Line Diecutting System really does give you so many different ways to make cards, and it really is so much fun to try them out! Alcohol ink kaleidoscope with Michelle Lupton

Hello! It's Michelle here today, and I'm sharing my very first attempt at a new technique (well, new to me!) I added the kaleidoscope stencil over my gel press, and then added two colours of alcohol ink and one colour of alcohol pearls. I brayered them over the stencil, then removed the stencil and allowed them to dry. I then brayered a thin layer of white acrylic gouache over the top and took a print from the gel press. I finished the card with the Thankyou for being you sentiment stamp and some Gin and Tonic sequins. Thanks for visiting :)

Hello Lovely Slim Line with Larisa

Hello! Or should I say, "Hello, Lovely!" I hope you are having a fabulous week! Today, I am sharing a pretty slim line card featuring the NEW Slim Line Die Cutting System! As you've probably already heard, this Die Cutting System is so easy to use and offers endless possibilities! For my card, I paired it with some patterned paper and Beautiful Girl Karen! First, I die cut the smaller rectangle from some plaid patterned paper. Then I layered that on top of some white card stock die cut with the larger rectangle. This created the base panel for my card. Then I used the tree square from the set and die cut that from some white card stock. I trimmed around the edges to create a white border and then layered that onto some black card stock and trimmed again. Then I adhered it to the top of my card panel. I stamped, colored, and die cut my image and popped her in the center of the frame using foam tape. Then I die cut and layered up my "lovely" sentiment. I adhered that just below my image. The "hello" sentiment is from the Dragon Fruit stamp set. I heat embossed that in white and trimmed it into a rectangle. Then I added it just over the bottom of my "lovely" sentiment. A few Gin and Tonic Sequins finish this card off! I just love how it turned out and it was so easy to create! Someone Said Glitter?

Hello friends! Today I’m so happy to be sharing this card full of glitter and it’s literally full of glitter! This technique combines stencil and glitter and it is super fun and it doesn’t take too much time. For this card I’m using the Floral Stencil and Thank You for a being You Stamp Set. Let’s begin! I started by creating the background and I added double sided taped to panel that is 3 1/4 x 4 1/2. Then I removed and saved the release paper. Next, I applied Pixie Spray to my Floral Stencil and placed it on top of my panel. To make sure the stencil is pretty well stuck to my panel and the glitter doesn’t get behind it, I laid down the release paper on top and rubbed the stencil on with a bone folder. Then, I poured some purple glitter on top and I let it go like waterfall over the stencil so all the adhesive showing through the stencil will hold the glitter. You need to tap a little bit the panel the get off the excess and then you placed the release paper on top again and press the glitter into the adhesive using a bone folder. My next step is to carefully remove the stencil and applied the second color of glitter. This time is a bright yellow to make all the flowers pop up from the background. I just poured the glitter on top, shake off the excess and placed the release paper on top again to make sure the adhesive holds the glitter. Finally, I adhered a white folded card note at the back using foam tape for more dimension. I also heat embossed with silver embossing powder the sentiment and placed it at the bottom of my panel and this card is done! I really hope you try this technique is very easy and the results are so amazing! You can’t image how gorgeous this card shines in person. Have a phenomenal rest of the week! A Little Nuts with Ceal Pritchett

Hello Friends! It's Ceal here. Today I am sharing a card made with the Slim Line Die Cutting System. This is my first card made with it and I am loving it! To create my card I used the smaller of the two panel dies and cut out two panels, one out of white and one out of Kraft cardstock. To the Kraft panel I added the square die cuts with the birch trees. On the white one I blended a sky background using the Life Changing Blender Brushes. To make the trees look more like birch trees I added some Snowdrop paper glaze to them and then using a brown Micron pen added the notches. Next I stamped the squirrels from the A little Nuts on a seperate piece of cardstock, colored them using Copic markers and cut them out with the Coordinating dies. I added them along with the sentiment to the blended background. To turn this into a shaker card I added a piece of acetate to the kraft panel, placed foam tape around the squares and added sequins from the Maple Burbn Splash, Candy Corn Shot and Screwdriver mixes. Hi friends! Today I’m up at Picket Fence Studios Blog sharing this card for all coffee lovers and I’m featuring Coffee Understand Stamp Set and Dies, Coffee Word Die, Favorite Notification Stamp Set and Fancy Flourish Stencil along with WOW! Etched Platinum, WOW! Bahama and WOW! Weathered Gold Embossing Powders. Let’s start! I placed this beautiful and intricate Fancy Flourish Stencil on top of a white A2 panel, applied WOW! Embossing Pad and then heat embossed it with Etched Platinum Embossing Powder. Then, I adhered a white notecard at the back using liquid glue. I die cut a white circle out of cardstock and glued it on my background. Additionally, I stamped two cups from Coffee Understand Stamp Set using LDRS Creative Hybrid Inks and die cut both using the coordinating die. I also, added the cups to my background. Finally, I die cut the Coffee Word Die and heat embossed it using WOW! Bahama Embossing Powder. I put this word die next to the cups.
