Aquarius Girl with Michelle

by Michelle Lupton on Nov 19 2021
Hello! I am continuing my series of cards using the Zodiac Girl stamps. This month's release is Aquarius girl, and it you look closely at her hair, it seemed obvious to me what colour it had to be! The card base is acetate, so I cut 4 pieces of cardstock with the coordinating die - one (#1) to stamp and colour in to go on the front of the card, one (#2) to go inside the front of the card to hid the adhesive from the front of the card, one  (#3) for inside the card to write a message on, and one (#4) on the back of the card to hid the adhesive from the 3rd piece. Thanks for visiting :)

Hello!  Larisa here and today I'm sharing two holiday cards featuring the NEW A Wreath for all Seasons Stamp!  This beautiful stamp is the perfect addition to your cards and it's so versatile! For my first card, I started with a black piece of cardstock and trimmed it to fit an A2 sized card.  Then I stamped out my image and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.  On top of that I added a strip of black and white patterned paper from my stash.  After stamping and coloring up Beautiful Girl Jill, I die cut her out using the coordinating die and added her to the left of my card with some foam tape.  I also tucked a bit of iridescent twine behind her for added texture.  A few sequins and a "Merry Christmas" sentiment finish this card off!   For my next card, I chose some fun and whimsical colors to work with on this vertical design.  I stamped my image out in teal ink on light blue card stock.  Then I trimmed it to fit my card base.  Then I die cut and paper pieced my little gnome adding some detail with Copic Markers.  Across the bottom, I combined two different stamped sentiments in two different colors to add some interest to my card. A few sequins and a fuzzy pom pom on my gnomes had finish this fun little card.   Products Used: Beautiful Girl Jill Stamp Beautiful Girl Jill Coordinating Die A Wreath for all Seasons Stamp Sequin Mix Plus - Crafty Friends Fancy Christmas Sentiments Fancy Christmas Sentiments Coordinating Die Billy the Gnome Die A Gnome Christmas Hugs Enclosed Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy Crafting!

Hello! Today I'm sharing a card using a die in a way that was definitely not intended! I love making gingerbread men at Christmas time. A few years ago, I saw a photo on Pinterest showing how to decorate gingerbread men upside down to make gingerbread reindeer! So when Picket Fence Studios released the new gingerbread dies, I had to make a reindeer!   Thanks for visiting :)

Thinking of You Shaker Card with Karen Reategui

by Karen Reategui on Oct 07 2021
Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing the shaker card featuring the Torch Ginger Tropical Flower Stamp and Die, More Fancy Sentiments Stamp and Dies, Center Flower 6x6 Stencil, Silver Bells Paper Glitz and Iridescent Moonshine Sequin Mix.   Let's begin! I started by placing the Flower 6x6 Stencil on top of an A2 panel and applied Silver Bells Paper Glitz using the Mixed Media Spatulas. I removed the stencil and let this panel dry for about 20 minutes.     Once the panel was dry, I added a card base at the back using glue. Next, I die cut a frame using two rectangles dies out of peach cardstock. Additionally, I die cut a piece of acetate and adhered it to the back of the frame using double sided tape. This way I created the window for the shaker.      Next, I poured the Iridescent Moonshine Sequin Mix on top of the background created with the Silver Bells Paper Glitz. I also adhered foam tape around the window of the shaker, removed the backing paper and placed it on top of the background to close the shaker window.       Torch Ginger Tropical Flower Stamp was stamped using Gingerbread Wood Hybrid ink from Scrapbook.com and I colored the image using Copic markers. I die cut this image using the matching die and placed it on top of the shaker background.     Finally, my sentiment from More Fancy Sentiments Stamp was stamped using Black Hybrid ink pad and then it was die cut using the coordinating die. I placed the sentiment at the lower part of the card and it was finished.   I really hope you enjoyed this card and give it a try. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day. Your friend, Karen

One Set, Two Ways!

by Larisa Hohman on Oct 06 2021
Hello!  Larisa here and today, I'm sharing two very different cards using the same stamp set: Winter Has Come To Town.   I love to stretch my supplies and come up with creative ways to use them!  Today, I'm showing you how to use one set two ways!  For my first card, I stamped out the village scene using black ink.  Then I colored it up using Copics.  For the sky, I added some distress inks and then popped up my sentiment with foam tape.  A pretty simple card that packs a colorful punch!   For my second card, I stamped the village scene again, but this time, I used light grey ink.  Then I stamped out my sentiment using red ink and used a black pen to add some shadows.  I paired the NEW Winter Scene Building People to my scene and colored them up with Copics.  A bit of foam tape, helps them stand out in the scene.  Then I layered the whole thing on some dark green card stock.   I just love that both of the cards use the same stamp set, but look so different!  Thanks so much for stopping by!     Products Used: Winter Has Come To Town Winter Scene Building People Winter Scene Building People Coordinating Die Black Hybrid Ink

Seek To See More - Full Size Shaker Fun

by Lisa Tilson on Sep 29 2021
Hello there, it's Lisa here with you today to share a shaker card. I often make shakers but rarely a full size shaker so I thought I'd shaker it up a little! See what I did there? So here is what I came up with. It uses one of my favourite sets, Mermaid Dear, and I paired it with the A2 Tall Grass & Waves With Tile & Wood Floors stamp set for my background. To begin, I took some Tim Holtz Distress Watercolour cardstock and popped it into my MISTI. I repeat stamped the waves image from the A2 Tall Grass & Waves With Tile & Wood Floors set using Versmark Ink. I then applied white embossing powder and heat set. I smooshed some Distress Inks onto my glass media mat and spritzed them with some water and then took a paintbrush and applied them over the embossed waves area. I didn't go over the whole of the embossed area, but concentrated my colour in all areas but the top left corner. I used Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio - this is a great mix for water scenes, at least in my humble opinion. To build up the colour, I did a couple of layers, heat setting in between. I set the panel aside to air dry after the last layer had been added. This beautiful mermaid is from Mermaid Dear and she was stamped onto 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock using PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I coloured her with Copic makers (the numbers are below) and then cut her out with the coordinating die before adhering her onto my watercoloured panel with wet adhesive. I then took an acetate sheet that was an inch larger than a normal A2 card and I cut a section from each corner so that I could wrap it around my watercoloured panel. I used double side tape to secure it at the back but left the top edge open so that I could add my sequins before finally sealing them in. My shaker mix was a combination of Mermaid Water Sequin Mix along with Spring Fling Sequin Mix. I added some of each into the front of the shaker and then sealed the top edge of the acetate at the back, again with strong double sided tape. The sentiment comes from Mermaid Dear and it was stamped onto black cardstock using sticky ink. I then added white embossing powder and heat set before trimming it out and adhering it onto the outside of the shaker panel with wet adhesive. To finish I added the shaker panel to a top folding A2 card. The movement of the sequins and the noise it makes is just fabulous! Copic numbers: Mermaid Skin (E70, E53, E51, E50, R20), Mermaid Hair (E55, E53, E51, E50), Mermaid Clothes (V17, V04, BG13, BG11), Puffer Fish (BV13, BV02, BV01) (BG32, BG13, BG11)

Northern Lights Magic with Paper Glaze Lux

by Rachelle Oltean on Sep 22 2021

Hello Crafters! It's Rachelle here and I've got a special card to share with you today: an easy CAS design featuring a background created with a brand new product from Picket Fence Studios...the Paper Glaze Lux Ombre "Nutcracker Ballet"!  Paper Glaze Lux is a mixed media glitter-based art medium, which blends heavy body mica with a glitter infusion, providing a MAXIMUM level of shine and thickness in a spreadable glitter glaze. Your application thickness allows you to determine the opacity level and so I experimented with painting a small, diluted amount directly onto black card stock and achieved a 'Northern Lights' Effect! You can see the base color of the pearly mica pigment body and the highlighted areas of glittery shine where the Lux was a bit thicker with color "C" from this Ombre collection! I was so excited with the result and this literally took me less than 5 minutes to create! After the Paper Glaze Lux panel was dry, I trimmed it down to 3.75" x 5" and attached it to the center of a top-folding A2 black card base. Using the "Santa's Snowy Hills" Die , I cut a panel from aqua card stock and trimmed off some of the silhouette, leaving a scattering of pine trees and the single house in the distance. This panel was cut to fit the width of the card front and adhered on top.  A sloped panel was cut to size from white card stock and the sentiment (from the "Winter Has Come To Town" Stamp Set) was stamped using my MISTI. I glued the small stamped/colored/die cut figure of the man carrying home his prize Christmas tree (from the "Winter Scene Building People") onto the sentiment panel, which was attached into place on the card front. A few "Spring Fling" Sequins finished up this clean-and-simple card! This design will be so easy to mass-produce and the effect of that painted Paper Glaze Lux is stunning in real life! I encourage you to stretch all of your Paper Glaze products by using them as painting mediums! Happy crafting and have a great day! Rachelle ♥

I'm continuing on with my series of Zodiac Girl Cards - this month, the new stamp and matching die is Capricorn Girl. I coloured her with Copic markers and popped her onto a grey and purple stenciled background. I decided she needed a little pizazz, so I added some of the new Silver Bells Paper Glitz to her horns, her eyelids and her earrings. I also mixed some with water and splattered it in the background.     Thanks for visiting :)

Coloring with Paper Glitz

by Karen Reategui on Sep 13 2021

Hello crafty friends! Today i'm sharing one of the cards that I made for the 7 in 7 event. On this slimline card I colored through a stencil using Paper Glitz and a dauber. The products that I used for this slimline card are Slim Line Oversized Joy to the World Die, Slim Line Cut Flower Stencil, Paper Glitz Autumn Persimmon,  Paper Glitz Lime Christmas Green, Paper Glitz True Christmas Red and Slim Line Die Cutting System.    I started by adding Pixie spray to the back of the Slim Line Cut Flower stencil, then I placed it on top of a heavy cardstock. I applied small quantities of Paper Glitz with dauber, coloring the center of the flower, the petals and the space around.  The colors I used were Paper Glitz Autumn Persimmon, Paper Glitz Lime Christmas Green, Paper Glitz True Christmas Red. Next, I let the panel dry for about 20 minutes. Paper Glitz is a medium that dries very fast which is very helpful. Once my panel was dry, I die cut it using a layering base die from the Slim Line Die Cutting System. I also added on top of this background a piece of velum. Then, I adhered a black folded card base. On a piece of cardstock I applied  Paper Glitz Autumn Persimmon using a spatula and let it dry. Once it was dry, I die cut the  Slim Line Oversized Joy to the World Die out of it. Additionally, I die cut another set of these dies out of white cardstock to be used as a shadow behind the die cuts with Paper Glitz Autumn Persimmon. Finally, I added the Joy to the World die cuts on top of the velum using tape runner and this Slimline Christmas card was ready. Below you will find a list of supplies that I used to created this card. I hope you like this card and give a try this very fun technique. Enjoy your week and happy crafting! Your friend,  Karen

Whooo Are You two ways and VIDEO!

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Aug 30 2021
Hi guys,  it's Erica back on the Picket Fence Studio blog AND the YouTube channel today! I have two cards to show you, and as mentioned, there is a video for it too, so I'd love it if you'd check that out as well.  I have used the Whooo Are You stamp and coordinating die set for these two cards.  Now, I will admit that when I first saw this guy I was a bit like 'hmm, I don't think this is going to be my fave' but once I started colouring him, I fell in love!! Oh, my, he's so fun to colour!!  I stamped him up both with Black Hybrid ink, as well as with Fadeout Ink from Inkon3, with my MISTI, so I could do one no-line-colouring. They both turned out fab, if I may say so myself. So fun to colour! (I know I already said that but it's true) and major plus point for having a coordinating diecut!  For the backgrounds I wanted to show two different techniques, and two of my faves include ink blending with the Life Changing Blender Brushes and the other is using my beloved Paper Glazes. I can not understate how obsessed I am with Paper Glazes, they are so amazing and give such fun results! I used Paper Glazes for both the lives I did in the Picket Fence Studios Community Facebook group, where we host fun lives and classes sometimes. You should definitely join us there if you haven't already!  In the video you will see me ink blending another background, which I didn't end up using, and off-camera I ink blended the one I actually used. As we are heading towards fall and the owl is a night time creature, I felt the ominous orangey-red one was a better choice. It also matched the eyes on the owl a bit better.  On the Paper Glaze background I ended up reusing(/re-purposing?) a scrap piece that I had scraped off some excess Paper Glaze from another play session. It wasn't long enough for the slim line card I was planning on making with it, so I added more Paper Glaze in Black Pansy, Lime Zinnia, Daffodil Yellow and Ocean Poppy.  Armed with lots of black card stock, I ran both the A2 Tree Silhouette cover die, the Slim line Tree Silhouette Cover die and the Spider Web cover dies through my diecutting machine, and set these aside while I worked on my sentiments.  I had a super cheesy idea for this, but bear with me. As the owl is a predator, I wanted to use the 'I love your face' word topper die, and then add 'yum' by cutting out the letter with the Seeing Double Alpha dies. See what I mean? So cheesy, lol!  Oh, by the way, that YUM was cut out of homemade glitter card stock made with Black Rainbow Paper Glitz!  The second sentiment is also done with a word topper, only this time the Hello one. This time I cut it out of white card stock, which might have been a bit of a mistake, I should have done it in black card stock again but oh well.  For this sentiment I also went cheesy. Of course. So while I had the Hello word topper, my die cutting machine and the card stock out, I cut out some extra O's to make the Hello into a Hellooooo. I didn't like it white so I blended a little bit of the black and blue ink left on my brushes over it.  The final part of the sentiment was the 'whooo are you?' from the stamp set, which I stamped on white card stock and cut out with the coordinating diecut.  To assemble these, I used liquid glue to make sure I could adjust all the pieces and line them up perfectly. Especially the A2 card as I layered up the tree silhouette piece on top of the spider web diecut. The owls were tucked into the Tree Silhouette pieces on each card and then the sentiments were added and we were done!  Over on the Picket Fence Studios YouTube channel you can catch the video for these two cards as well!  Thank you so much for stopping by today, I really hope you like the cards and found some inspiration here with me.  Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica

Hello! It's Michelle here today, and I'm sharing a card I made using a die, a stencil, a sequin mix and Paper Glitz. I used Distress Oxide inks to create the sunset in the background, and then used part of the Handcut Snowflake 6x6 Stencil and some Paper Glitz Sparkle to create the pattern in the sky. I used the Santa's Snowy Hills die to create the three tiers of snowy hills, and ink blended with some blue ink to create dimension between them. I finished with a stamped sentiment, and some snowflake shaped sequins from the Icicles sequin mix. Have you seen our 7 in 7 event on Facebook? We have 7 free classes over 7 days!  Hello!  Larisa here and guess what...it's Release Day!!!!!  This month is packed with so many must-have products; you do not want to miss it!  Best of all, everything is AVAILABLE in The Shop NOW!  Be sure to head over there to check it out!   Today, I'm sharing several Halloween cards made with just a hand-full of all the new goodies!  All Hallow's Eve is just around the corner and this release is sure to scare up some fun!   For my first card, I created a quick and easy shaker using acetate and my sewing machine.  I stamped out this ghost image from the Not Scared You Should Be Stamp set and fussy cut it out.  Then I adhered it on top of some clear acetate.  I sewed that to the top of some orange patterned paper in my stash and before closing it up completely I filled it with some of the new Midnight Tales Sequins Mix. Then I added my sentiment and that's it.  Such a quick and easy way to create a shaker, but still makes a big impact!   This next card features the new Spider Web Cover Plate Die.  This die is so intricate and creates a total wow factor on your projects.  To create my card, I started with a piece of black card stock.  I die cut the spider web from white glitter paper and adhered it the black.  Then I stamped out and colored up Lexi Girl.  I used the coordinating die to cut her out and then I layered her on top of my web.  Across the bottom of the card I added some strips of patterned paper and layered my sentiment on top.  To finish the card off, I added a fun sentiment from the Not Scared You Should Be Clear Stamp Set.  I just love how this turned out!   My final card features the cutest little monsters.  These not-so-scary guys are part of the new You Creep Me Out Clear Stamp Set.  To create my card, I used the Scallop Frames Slim Line Die Cutting System.  After cutting the layered out of patterned paper and card stock.  I layered it all together, creating three shaker windows down the center of the card.  I used the NEW Trick Or Treaters Sequin Mix Plus.  It is a Must Have!  Then I stamped out my images, colored them up with Copics, and cut them out using the coordinating dies.  Using foam tape, I popped them onto my card and added a few of the bat die cut from the Slim Line Die Cutting System Witch Insert.  Finally, I added my sentiment across the middle and there you have it.   You Creep Me Out Clear Stamp Set Slim Line Funky Christmas Envelopes You Creep Me Out Coordinating Dies Slim Line Die Cutting System Witch Insert Not Scared You Should Be Spider Web Cover Plate Die Midnight Tales Sequins Mix Plus Trick Or Treaters Sequins Mix Plus Scallop Framed Slim Line Die Cutting System Lexi Girl Lexi Girl Coordinating Die   Gem Pick Up Tool Black Hybrid Ink Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy Crafting!

Merry And Bright - A CAS Christmas Card For Mass Production

by Lisa Tilson on Jul 07 2021
Hello everyone, Lisa here today with a clean and simple Christmas card for you. We all know that it can be a struggle to make all those Christmas cards so here's one that is really easy to duplicate so you can avoid that mad rush in November! I started off by die cutting Snowflake Lydia and one of the snowflakes from Winter Snowflakes (such a pretty set!). I then cut some very very narrow red, green and white strips of cardstock. These strips of cardstock were adhered onto a side folding A2 base card. The section of strips was just over an inch wide (there were 9 tiny coloured strips). They would also look good horizontally I think. I then cut two pieces of white cardstock and popped them up with foam tape over the base card, so that the coloured strips are inset behind those two white panels. Super easy isn't it? I adhered Lydia Snowflake over the two panels and one of the smaller Winter Snowflakes on top of Lydia. I finished with a gem stone from Fire Gem Mix for a little bit of bling. The sentiment is from Inside Quotes: Christmas and this was stamped to the side using Black Hybrid Ink. So you can see how this would be really quick to mass produce. I hope that this gives you some inspiration for starting you cards early - it is Christmas in July after all!
