Slimlines and Gel Press with Ceal

by Ceal Pritchett on Dec 02 2020
Hey Y'all! It's Ceal and today I am sharing some slimline cards that uses the Slim Line Die Cutting System along with the Gel Press. Can you believe that it is December already? I have to get moving on my Christmas cards so I made 4 using this technique that I learned from Lydia.  To create these cards, I cut out some of the snowflakes from the Winter Snowflakes die set, the Lydia snowflake die and the LaWanda snowflake dies out of copy paper. I places some acrylic paint on the Gel Press and brayered over it. Next I placed the snowflakes down on top of the paint and placed the sheet of copy paper over it and gently rubbed over the entire Gel Press. I lifted the copy paper for the print and then removed the snowflakes so I could reuse them.  The paint colors I used on the blue were Peacock, Sky and Turquoise all by Dina Wakley.  The paint colors I used on the green card were Peacock and Lemon and when I ran the brayer over them it became green. The last two cards I used the holy trinity as lydia refers to it, Magenta, Lemon and Turquoise.  On every card I used the large and smaller rectangle die from the Slim Line Die Cutting System. I love how using your dies as stencils and masks as I have on my cards, stretches your dies.    I hope you have enjoyed this post and if you don't have a Gel Press, that you would invest in one. they are so fun!    Below you will find links to the products used. NEW Slim Line Cards with Larisa

by Larisa Hohman on Nov 25 2020
Hello, hello!  Larisa here and today, I'm sharing two fun and easy cards using the new Slim Line Die Cutting System as well as some of the new products from the November Release!  All products used are linked below.  Be sure to check out the Picket Fence Shop to see all the new goodies!   For my first, card, I started with some teal card stock and die cut it using the largest rectangle from the Slim Line Die Cutting System.  Then I use the smaller rectangle from a lighter blue card stock.  I used the stitched circle die in the set to create random circles on my lighter blue panel.  Then I adhered it to the teal piece.   I used some of the new snowflake dies to cut snowflakes in various sizes from white card stock, holographic card stock, and glassine paper.  Then I layered them on top of my card and adhered with Glossy Accents.  I added some scattered sequins throughout the card and finished it off with a sentiment heat embossed in white on black card stock.  Such a quick and easy card that really packs a punch!   For my next card, I used the new Slim Line Die cutting System and paired it with the new Pet all the Dogs Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies.  To begin, I chose a bright blue piece of card stock and die cut it using the largest rectangle in the set.  Then, I die cut a piece of white card stock using the smaller rectangle die.  I used the picket fence die to cut three openings in my white panel.  Then I used the grass die to cut  three grass pieces from green card stock.  I layered each one behind the picket fence openings and adhered them together.  Then I colored up my dogs, cut them out using the coordinating dies, and tucked one of them in between my grass and fence.  Then I adhered it all together and popped my dogs on top using foam tape.  I stamped my sentiment across the top and added some die cut clouds from the A Spooky Day Stamp and Coordinating Die set.   Again, another quick and easy card that's sure to brighten anyone's day!   Products Used: Snowflake LaWanda Die Snowflake Alice Die Pet all the Dogs Stamp Pet all the Dogs Coordinating Die A Spooky Day Stamp A Spooky Day Coordinating Die Inside Quotes: Christmas Stamp Moonshine Sequin Mix Winter Snowflakes Die Black Hybrid Ink Slim Line Die Cutting System Hope you have a great week!  Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Merry Christmas Snowflakes

by Becky Roberts on Nov 20 2020
Hello and Happy Friday Stampers! Becky Roberts from Inking Idaho here with a card using almost all of the new snowflakes.  That's what happens when you can't decide, you use them all!  They are so beautiful it really wasn't hard.  I started with the big snowflakes by cutting them in vellum.  Then to hide some of the adhesive I used, I placed a few of the smaller snowflakes on top.  I cut them in vellum, white cardstock and silver mirror paper. The tiny snowflake is stamped in black in and is from the Ho Ho Ho stamp set. Here are the products used on this card. Snowflake Lydia Leave it in the comments below if you know who this snowflake was named after! Ü Snowflake Alice Winter Snowflakes Fancy Christmas Sentiments The gorgeous sentiment is embossed in white and is from the Fancy Christmas Sentiments stamp set.  The sentiments in this set are so pretty...and fancy!  Thank you for joining me.  Please follow me on Instagram for more inspiration. Versatile Floral Stencils

by Angela Bode on Oct 02 2020
Hi everyone!  Today I am featuring both of the Picket Fence Studios Floral Stencils!  First up, I turned the Floral Slimline Stencil into a Christmas card by simply adding the Merry Christmas sentiment from Baby It's Cold Outside.  I used a reverse stencil method by blending blue distress ink over the cardstock with Life Changing Blender Brushes then I placed the stencil onto the cardstock and blended black ink through the stencil.  I added sparkle with Glitter Paper and then tossed Gin and Tonic Sequins Mix from about 6 inches in the air and glued the sequins onto the card where they fell!  (I learned that trick from Lydia!)    Next up, I used the 6x6 Floral Stencil to make an A2 Christmas Card.  This time I stenciled the new Artemisia Silver Paper Glaze through the stencil.  I added a sentiment from Inside Christmas Quotes and then finished off the card with Gin and Tonic Sequins plus Black Russian Sequins Mix. I love the versatility of the Floral Stencils as they can be used for any occasion including Christmas!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Quick Christmas Cards with Paper Glaze and Slim Line Stencil

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Sep 29 2020
Hi guys!  Erica back on the PFS blog today, with a Christmas card. It’s quite quick, and simple so this is another design that will work when you need to make a bunch quickly!  I started out by spraying my Dashes Slim Line Stencil with Pixie Spray, and once that was cured, I adhered it to a piece of card stock. First up was the gorgeous Jade Vine Paper Glaze, and I spread a generous layer of it on about 75% of the stencil. Then I added some Snowdrop White to fill in the gaps and also to mix in with the Jade Vine to create a softer look. Finally, I added some Golden Rose for extra shimmer!  I love how it turned out, and that extra white and gold really does add a little something special!  Currently I’m on a total snowman craze, so I stamped up the snowman from On A Christmas Walk with Black Hybrid ink, and set that with my heat tool. Then I coloured him with some Copics and when I was happy with the colouring, I used the coordinating diecut to cut him out.  The Merry Christmas in the Fancy Christmas Sentiments was heat embossed in gold on white card stock, trimmed down to a slim banner and adhered to the top of the card. The snowman followed and with that, the card was done!  I really hope you like the card and found some inspiration here with me today. There will be a YouTube video coming to the Picket Fence Studios channel soon, so hang in there if you want to actually see the Paper Glaze and stencil in action!  Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica

Never Too Early for Good Tidings

by Angela Bode on Sep 11 2020
I am always late when it comes to mailing things out so I try to help myself by creating Christmas cards all year.  Truthfully, even if I never sent out a Christmas card I would create them all year long.  I love the colors of Christmas, the happy sentiments and images.  I just love Christmas!   For my first card I, used Life Changing Blender Brushes and added Distress Ink through the Candlelight Stencil. Next, I spritzed with water leaving the stencil in place.  Then I sprinkled watercolor powder and spritzed with a bit more water.  I love how the Distress Ink adds another dimension of color to the watercolor powders!  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from Inside  Quotes: Christmas directly on the card front.  Lastly I added Margarita Sequins Mix!  For the next Card, I wanted to feature the large Ho Ho Ho Sentiment but also use a similar background technique as the candlelight card.  So once again I used Life Changing Blender Brushes and randomly added red and green Distress ink on a card front.  Then, I sprinkled on watercolor powders in same color families as the Distress Ink. Lastly, I added Holiday Hopper Sequins Mix.  I am all about the fabulous Picket Fence Studios Sequins!   Whether you are looking for holiday themes or any occasion themes you will find what you are looking for at  Picket Fence Studios Shop! Thanks so much for stopping by today! Angie

Christmas Shaker Card with Karen Reategui

by Karen Reategui on Jul 16 2020
Hello my crafty friends! Today I’m sharing this Christmas shaker card over Picket Fence Studios Blog. For this card, I have used new stamps from the July Release HO HO HO and Reindeer Stamps along with Gin & Tonic Sequin Mix. Let’s begin! I die cut this slim panel and applied inks to it using the Life Changing Blender Brushes. Next, with the help of my MISTI I stamped the Reindeer Stamp all across the slim panel using WOW! Embossing Pad and heat embossed it with WOW! Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. Then, I adhered a piece of cellophane wrap from a sheet of chipboard stickers. I cut the cellophane slightly bigger than my slim panel. Then, I folded every side of the cellophane and secured only three sides at the back of my panel using double sided tape. I added the Gin & Tonic sequins through the side that was still opened and then I closed it with more double sided tape. On a piece of acetate I stamped the HO HO HO Stamp Set using WOW! Embossing Pad and the heat embossed it with WOW! Metallic Silver Embossing Powder. I think this silver matched great the color of the sequins. I also, adhered this piece of acetate to the shaker. Finally, I added a white scalloped slim panel at the back and a red folded note card and my Christmas shaker card was ready! I hope you enjoyed this card and give it a try. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day! Karen
