Hello Monday Friends! This Sleeping Baby stamp and die set pulls right on all of my grandma heart strings. This is one of my favorite stages of childhood. I could watch my grandchildren sleep for hours!  Here is a look at this sweet stamp and die combination:   I also used the Basketweave stencil for my background. I think it made a lovely ink blended blanket for this angel.   I hope you liked today's card. I certainly loved making it and sharing it with you. Picket Fence Has So Many Fun Words!

by Becky Roberts on Mar 13 2020
Hi Stamping Friends, Becky Roberts from Inking Idaho here today posting to the Picket Fence blog. I really love the sentiments sets that Picket Fence Studios carries, so today I decided to pair them up with some of the stand alone word dies to create cards with sayings that probably weren't meant to go together but sure are fun! Seriously OMG. NO. JUST NO. Seriously Word Die Always be you the world can adjust Always Word Die Love Ya really. truly. absolutely. Love Ya Word Die Coffee you make my heart skip a beat Coffee Word Die The sentiment sets I used are It's Peopley Out There, Favorite Notification and Seriously, Absolutely, Always     Seriously, Absolutely, Always and Favorite Notification It's Peopley Out There Look how fun these words are!   The background for all of these is A City in the World. I started with a stencil background for each of them, but when I added the words, it felt kind of plain, so I stamped the background over the top. Thanks for reading today! For more creative ideas, please visit my Inking Idaho blog or follow me on Instagram.  See you next month! Becky

Good Friends and Support

by Lisa Henke on Mar 11 2020
Hello and happy hump day. Are you surviving the week of full moon, time change, and almost Friday the 13th?  And we won't even mention the other hot topic of concern. I'm keeping things light and cheery and uplifting.....see what I did there? lol. I am thankful I can escape the day to day crazy with a paper, ink and a punny sentiment. The Tightening Her Bra Straps stamp set from the February release is a fantastic friendship set and I love the encouraging words included with it.  I colored up the pretty bra and used the matching Tightening Her Bra Straps Dies to cut it out. The detail in the image, had me reaching for the gorgeous Fancy Flourishes (it's back in stock! Yay!!) stencil. I did a quick, soft and pretty inking with the Life Changing blender brushes with some blush and light grey inks.  I stamped the sentiment in Stormy ink and added the bra image above it with foam dimensionals. I never underestimate the support of a good bra and I always rely on the support of a good friend. Both are priceless. I hope this card makes you smile and that you get some crafty time soon. Hugs, Lisa Henke

Hello!  It's Sara, from Much Love Sara here, to share a fun card with you today.  My Life Changing Blending Brushes are one of my favorite tools to play with in my craft room.  So, of course, when I saw the Watercolor Trees and Bushes stamp set, I knew I had to create a beautiful sunset blended background to highlight these pretty images.

One Background Two Cards

by Ilina Crouse on Mar 09 2020
Hi everyone! Ilina here. Today I am sharing couple cards I made using one background. To make the background piece cut piece of black glitter paper 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Secure the Fancy Flourish stencil and apply Ocean Poppy Paper Glaze. Remove the stencil and set it aside to dry. Once the paper glaze has dried, trim the panel down to 4" x 5 1/4" then trim off 3/4" from the middle (more towards the bottom half).  Cut two panels from white card stock 4" x 5 1/4". Position the top and bottom pieces in the MISTI tool and stamp sentiment from "My Favorite Notification". Adhere the top and bottom part using fun foam. Then adhere to top folding white note card.  For the second card, adhere the left over strip (from the middle part) onto the white panel and stamp sentiment from Fancy Sentiments using the Hybrid Black ink. Adhere the panel using fun foam to a top folding note card.

Walking on Sunshine

by Angela Bode on Mar 06 2020
So far this year we have received around 20 inches of rain!  I am pretty sure we have had more overcast or rainy days than sunshine which is not typical for where I live.  Lucky for me, I am quirky and I love the rain.  Another quirky thing about me is that I love to create the opposite weather on my projects.  So if it's cold out, I love butterflies and bright colors but in the summer when everyone is reaching for their beach stamps, I am reaching for my snow scenes!  Since we have had so much gloom lately, it won't surprise you that today's feature is a brightly stenciled sunshine!   First, I stenciled the gorgeous Artsy Sun Stencil using LDRS Creative Ink and Life Changing Blender Brushes (also sold in a 4 pack).  Next, I die-cut the Seriously two-part word die.  And lastly, I heat embossed a sweet sentiment from the Favorite Notification set.   Whatever your weather I hope you carve out some stamping time this weekend!  Thanks so much for stopping by! Winter Blues with Ceal Pritchett

by Ceal Pritchett on Mar 04 2020
Hello Everyone! It's Ceal here to share a winter card with you today because winter seems to be lingering in my part of the world. We had snow last week not once, but three times and on the days it wasn't snowing it was cold and rainy. I have the winter blues and I am so ready for spring! To create this card I started with a white top folding card base and a white panel. I stamped the trees from the  February release Watercolor Trees and Bushes set with embossing ink and then embossed them with WOW Sparkling Snow embossing glitter. They make gorgeous snow covered trees. I also stamped the ground and embossed it with Wanderlust embossing glitter as well. Next I blended the background using the Life Changing Blender Brushes. I stamped the cute snowman from the On a Christmas Walk set and colored him using Copic markers and cut him out using the Coordinating dies and popped him up using foam tape.

Funky Leaves Stencil cards, two ways, with Erica

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Mar 03 2020
Hi guys!  It's Erica back on the PFS Blog today. I've used the Funky Leaves Stencil, in two different ways. Ok, so the cards both started out the same way but I finished them off differently and I got very fun results.  To start with I sprayed the Funky Leaves Stencil with Pixie Spray to make sure it stays in one place so I get clean straight lines. Then, armed with a Life Changing Blender Brush and some inks (Mountain Mist from Altenew and Goddess Green from Ink On 3) I blended a panel each with each colour. Not all over, oh no, my ombré obsession is going nowhere fast.  On the Mountain Mist panel I then went back in with the Embossing Pad from WOW! Embossing and on top of that I sprinkled Aquamarine Glitter Powder. This I set with the dual heat gun on the lowest setting, from underneath the panel, to keep the glitter in place. I also trimmed this panel down a little bit.  I didn't want to cover up all that gorgeous glitter too much so what to do? I heat embossed the Happy Birthday from Fancy Sentiment on a strip of vellum, in Platinum embossing powder and then wrapped this around the panel.  This I adhered to a light grey card base and with that card no1 was done.  Card no2, done with the Goddess Green ink, I did the same Happy Birthday sentiment for. Also in Platinum, on vellum. After wrapping the sentiment strip around the background I adhered the whole thing to a card base.  To give this one a bit more interest, I added lots of Nuvo Jewel Drops in Key Lime. I used the leaf shape and added drops of different sizes to them and then set the card aside to dry.  Which one is your favourite? The one with glitter or the one with texture?  Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed these cards and will try one of these techniques yourself. Don't forget to tag @picketfencestudios in your posts when you show off your creations!  That's it from me!Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica

Lots of Hello with Erica

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Feb 29 2020
Hi, hey, HELLO!  It’s Erica on the blog today with lots of Hello cards! I love the new Hello word diecut and have used it in different ways for these cards.  I’ve been totally obsessed with making striped backgrounds with coloured card stock recently. It’s so fun and I love it! So much so I’ve ended up with some 20+ backgrounds... which I keep using and then replenishing, lol!  The first two cards have striped backgrounds, and the Hello layered up. One is done with dark grey and layered up with black, the other one has a Copic coloured backing part and layered up with white card stock. The backing part is done in an ombré look which was easy to achieve with Copics.   On this one I should perhaps have used a lighter grey card stock or maybe even white but it still pops! The third card has vertical stripes in a more masculine colour scheme and only the word part of the Hello added to it.  For the final card I cut out the Hello out of coloured card stock and adhered them to a white card base.  I did not add anything else to this one, only the word diecuts and that was it but it’s still lovely and colourful.  That’s it from me for this leap year day! Happy February 29th!  Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica

Hello! It's Michelle here today to share a card I made using a cover die from the January release.   I used my Life Changing Blender Brushes to create a Distress Oxide background, and then sprayed it with Perfect Pearls in water. I cut the Peacock Beauty die from silver mirror card stock, and then fussy cut the peacock image from it. I finished with a sentiment from the Beauty and Song stamp set. Thanks for visiting :)

Soft and Pretty and Stencil Obsessed

by Lisa Henke on Feb 26 2020

Good morning friends. It's Lisa Henke and it's always an honor to show up on the PFS blog and get to share some of my creations with you. As a paper crafter I love all the stuff, it's exciting to get the latest and greatest tools. We are collectors of all the things, right? *wink*wink* I collect and I love using all those tools but some days it's nice to keep it simple. Simple is where I go when I have lost my mojo, or if I am just simply short on time. I love that I can still create a pretty card with minimal products, and PFS stencils ALWAYS save the day.  I still have the brand new Fancy Flourishes stencil on my desk so I taped that down on some white card stock and reached for a few of my Life Changing Blender Brushes and got inky. I used three colors of ink Blush, Citrine, and Tropical Teal. With a light hand I blended on the ink colors, overlapping them just a bit in the center of the Fancy Flourishes Stencil.  I trimmed the panel down to 4 x 5.5 and added the sentiment from Favorite Notification. This sentiment set is such a fresh, new, and sweet friendship set. I love the  mix of fonts, especially the one I used today. I am fairly certain we all have that friend that fits this sentiment. I used a grey ink to stamp the greeting and mounted the whole panel onto a soft grey card base. Soft, pretty, and a flat card makes for easy mailing. No excuses. A card like this can take 5-10 mintues max. Get inky and mail a card today!    Crafty hugs and happy hump day. It's almost the weekend, it's almost March, and   SPRING is getting closer.  -Lisa Henke

Hello Monday Friends! This Tightening Her Bra Strap stamp and die set is just so perfect for best friend cards. I love the little bit of snarkiness in some of the sentiments. The images themselves are easy to color because so much shading is built right into the stamps.  Here is a look at this sassy stamp and die combination:   I also used the Fancy Flourish stencil for my background. This stencil is a must for any delicate background on your most feminine cards.   I hope you've enjoyed today's feminine card. I certainly loved making it and sharing it with you. Fancy Flourish Ink Blending with Erica

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Feb 23 2020

Hi guys!  Erica back on the PFS Blog with a quick card. It’s blue, it’s ink blended and it has bling on it. All my favourite elements.  As I was going to do ink blending I got a panel of Bristol Vellum card stock out. I also generously sprayed my Fancy Flourish stencil with Pixie Spray to keep it in place while doing the ink blending.  I had three shades of blue inks from Catherine Pooler picked out. Something Borrowed, Suede Shoes and Juniper Mist. With my beloved Life Changing Blender Brushes I did the ink blending in an ombré fashion with the darker colour at the top.  Thanks to the Pixie Spray the lines are super crisp and clean! This product is absolute genius and a must-have if you are into ink blending.  As the stencilling is so fabulous, I didn’t want to cover it up too much so I kept the sentiment simple. I cut out the new Hello word diecut out of black and white card stock and layered these up.  On Lawn Fawn Blue Jay card stock, I heat embossed ‘I’m obsessed with your awesomeness’ in white. The sentiment is from Favorite Notifications, which is a super fun and relevant stamp set.  This I then trimmed down to a slim strip and adhered to the card. The Hello was added above it.  The final flourish were some Iridescent Crystals from Studio Katia. For a bit of bling, you know.  This design would be so easy to do in different colours for different occasions and different people.  Ok, well, that’s it from me for today. I hope you like the card!  Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica

Congrats On the New Job

by Ilina Crouse on Feb 17 2020
Hi everyone! Ilina here! Today I am sharing a card using few of the new products from the February Release. The new Paper Glazes along with the Here is Where I Work stamp set.  For my card I am using few Paper Glaze colors, but instead using it for stenciling, I am using for painting. Yes, painting, I am applying it with paintbrush onto my image to add just tiny bit of texture. (Watch the video below or HERE to see how this card came to be!) To make the card start by stamping the image onto Bristol Smooth card stock using Black Hybrid ink. Pain the cabinets and chairs using Marigold Orange and Brown Dahlia paper glazes and for the flower pot use Gold Rose and Brown Dahlia.  To speed up the drying process (because I am impatient) I used Heat Tool on low setting (make sure you don't use it on the heat setting for embossing, or you can use hair dryer). Once dry, watercolor the rest of the image, or color with coloring medium of your choice. Stamp sentiment onto brown card stock and emboss in white. Trim the colored panel and sentiment and adhere to brown note card using fun foam/foam tape.

I'm Here For the New Release!

by Angela Bode on Feb 14 2020
Hello!  It's Release Day at Picket Fence Studios and I am so excited to share with you what I have been working on this month! Also, Picket Fence Studios is having a Valentine's Day Sale so make sure to use HEART20 at check out to receive 20% off your order now through Sunday!  First up, I stenciled the background with my LC Blender Brushes and the new Fancy Flourishes Stencil.  To create the sentiment I used the first part of a sentiment from Cheat Day and heat embossed it.  Next, I die cut the super fun Coffee Word and lastly, I added two cups of coffee from this coffee set!  I am smitten by that pink cup! If a coffee shop served coffee in a pink cup I would have to stop in at least once a week! For my second card, I am excited to feature the new Picket Fence Studios Paper Glazes! The Glaze is so cool, it dries fairly quickly and leaves a glossy shine with a touch of shimmer. For the leafy background, I spread Fern Green Paper Glaze through the new Funky Leaf Stencil with a palette knife.  Then I took a bit of the glaze and thinned it with water to color Charlie. He is dazzling IRL!  Lastly, I heat embossed a sentiment from the new Favorite Notification set.   For my last card today I wanted to give you another look at the Glaze!  This time I spread Ocean Poppy Glaze through the flower stencil and let dry.  Once dry I cut out the Petite Cup.  Wouldn't a cup of tea taste even better in a gorgeous cup like this?  Lastly, I added a fancy birthday sentiment.  I can tell you that this fancy sentiment set is going to see a lot of use!  I am smitten with the elegant font!   Thanks so much for stopping by today!   Valentine's Day sale - today through Sunday - 20% off with code HEART20 Angie (Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

Swallowtail Beauty Cards with Erica

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Feb 11 2020
Hi guys! Erica here on the PFS blog today. I have six cards made with the Swallowtail Beauty Stamp. It's a beauty, no pun!  I started out by cutting out 6 panels of water colour paper, these are all 4.24"x5.5" and I used my anti-static tool on them all as I was not only going to stamp up the Swallowtail Beauty stamp, I wanted to heat emboss it with clear embossing powder over the Black Hybrid ink as well. Even with the help of my MISTI the imprint wasn't very good, as the water colour paper is so textured. I used the re-inker on the ink pad, one) because it needed it and two) because I thought it might help with the coverage and then got stamping. Once I had a good coverage of the Black Hybrid ink, I went back in with an old VersaMark ink pad I use for this sort of stamping. It's all black and dirty but it doesn't matter as the ink underneath the clear embossing powder is black. What a way to save an ink pad, eh?? One of them I used Black Twinkle Embossing Glitter on and it ended up very shimmery! To add LOADS of colour, I have used Ken Olivers Color Burst powders in an array of colours, but naturally, being a lover of blue, I started with a blue butterfly. It also got a bit of turquoise added to it. One ended up a glowing yellow and emerald green. I did two in different shades of purple, despite not being a big fan of purple. The creative mind is a maze at times, isn't it? The one I thought was going to go straight in the bin, ended up being one of my favourites out of the six! Shows what I know, right? While it was wet, it just looked a mess but once it dried and the colours calmed down a little, it turned out gorgeous! The one with the Black Twinkle embossing glitter ended up being another mix of blue, turquoise and because it clearly wasn't glittery and shimmery enough, I also added some gold watercolour paint from the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Starry Color palette to it.   After they were all dry, I trimmed the panels down just a 1/4" around and adhered them to black card bases. I have used my favourite black card stock from Lawn Fawn, called Licorice for these. I stamped up a sentiment saying 'I Like Your Different Colors' in Black Hybrid ink on white card stock. These I trimmed down to slim strips before adhering to the cards. The sentiment is from Charlie The Chameleon stamp set. With that, all the cards are done. Isn't it fun that I have used the same products but the cards are all unique and slightly different. Oh, and I have a video up on my Youtube channel with the card making process if you want to check that out.   Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed this post and the cards!  Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica
