Hello! I'm Sara, from Much Love Sara, and I'm excited to be sharing a pretty wedding card with you today - featuring a dry emboss technique using a stencil.
Today's card begins with a piece of 4"x 5.25" white card stock and the new Fancy Flourishes Stencil. I love using stencils to add pretty inked backgrounds, and texture using pastes, however, for this card, I wanted a very soft and subtle background. I achieved that by dry embossing the stencil onto the card stock. Every die cut machine will have a slightly different sandwich for this - so check your manual for how to emboss - usually the directions indicate how to do this with thin dies. To emboss in my machine, I layered the platform, the tan rubber mat, my card stock, the stencil, and finally the embossing plate. I ran this sandwich through my machine, and had a embossed panel with that beautiful flourished pattern on it.
The next step was to heat emboss the "Congratulations" sentiment onto a 1.5"x 5" strip of vellum. The sentiment came from the new Fancy Sentiments Stamp Set, which has a great variety of different sentiments for different occasions. Once the gold heat embossing was done, I wrapped the vellum around the edges of embossed panel, and adhered the vellum on the back side.
I layered that card front onto another piece of white card stock using foam, and then added the matted card front to a top folding white card base, using more foam. The final touch was adding a few gold pieces for decoration.
This card was super quick and easy to make, and can be easily customized to specific wedding colors. If you'd like to purchase the stencil and sentiment set from the post today, please click the images above to be taken directly to their listings.
I hope you enjoyed the card today. Thank for stopping by!
Much love,
