January 2022 Release

by Sandi MacIver on Jan 14 2022
Hey makers, welcome back, it's Sandi here and it's RELEASE DAY at Picket Fence Studios.  There are so many fabulous new products being released today and I have linked them all at the end of this post for you.I have 5 card inspirations to share with you using many of the new products.  So let's jump right in and check them out.   Picket Fence Studios NEW Release - Card #1 I combined a couple of new products for this one. Stamp the background repeatedly with the new Leaves in a Stream stamp and then create a shaker card base with it. Next, I ink blended a rainbow and stamped the new Butterfly Beauties over it.  Cut them out with the coordinating dies and added them to the top of the shaker card. Inside the shaker card I have the Spring Fling Sequin Mix mixed with the NEW Shaker Garnish in clear and soft green. Card #2 was so fun to create. Start with the New Rainbow of hearts stencil and ink blend a rainbow of colors through it.  I used Distress Oxides:  Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feather and Villainous Portion. Next, I colored this adorable teddy bear from the NEW Somebunny Loves You stamp and die combination. Card #3 - More Books & Friends This fabulous new More Books & Friends Stamp and Die Combo is so fun to create scenes with.  Great pieces to create a living room scene which I colored with my Copics. Additionally,  use the Books are Friends die to create a Library background in your reading space. I also combined the Tall Grass & Waves With Tile and Wood Floors stamp set to stamp and color my floor Finally, I used the new Flowers & Polka Dots Stencil to create the wallpaper. Card #4 - Picket Fence Studios NEW Release. The BFF girls are back.  This new BFF Girls Find Your Tribe stamp set has 4 girls, in a smaller format that previous releases, and a great selection of sentiments. Create the background by ink blending through the new Stencil and Flowers Polka Dot Stencil and overlay the NEW A2 Lattice Oval and Trimmings Dies. I added an extra bit of bling with the Celebration Sequin Mix. Card #5 - SLIMLINE WOODS I'm pretty sure this is my new favorite Slimline Die from this collection. Slimline Woods cuts out all those fabulous trees.  I cut mine from Simon's Fog cardstock. Next, ink blend the background in Mowed Lawn and Peacock Feathers. I decided on a afternoon light silhouette scene, so did my images in Kraft card instead of black. Finally, the sentiment is from the Fancy Daily Sentiments stamp and die set from the April 2021 release. I hope you enjoyed today's cards and links to the entire new product line are below for you.     Card Making Supplies used for the Picket Fence Studios NEW Release Cards: Here are the NEW RELEASE products.  Compensated affiliate links used  where available at no cost to you. Beautiful Girl Sierra with Larisa

by Larisa Hohman on Apr 21 2021
Hello!  Today, I'm sharing a vibrant, floral card using Beautiful Girl Sierra!  This stamp is gorgeous and I had so much fun coloring her up!  To begin, I stamped her out in tan ink and colored her up using the no-line coloring technique.  Then I die cut her out using the coordinating die.  For the background, I used the NEW Beautiful Girls Flower Wreath.  I stamped it out, colored it up with Copics, and trimmed it to fit my A2 sized card.  Then I added my Sierra image to the center of the wreath using some foam tape.  For the flowers in her hair, I wanted them to pop.  So I added some of the roses from the Beautiful Girls Flower set.  Then I stamped out my sentiment, cut it out with the coordinating die, and popped it across the bottom of my card using foam tape.  Some Stickles glitter over the flower images finishes this card off.  Products Used: Black Hybrid Ink Beautiful Girls Flower Wreath Fancy Daily Sentiments Fancy Daily Sentiments Coordinating Die Beautiful Girls- Sierra Beautiful Girls Sierra Coordinating Die Beautiful Girl Flowers Beautiful Girl Flowers Coordinating Die

CAS Maple Leaves with Judy

The October Picket Fence Studios release is here and it's one of my favorites! Have you had a chance to check it out? Today I am sharing a trio of cards made with the new Maple Leaves Dies. All of my cards today are using the same color scheme and style - clean and simple, along with inchies! You can find the entire release HERE. Happy Shopping! All of the leaves were made with a "brayer cleaning sheet" from my Gel Press printmaking days awhile back. I love how they turned out. I like the touch of pink with the fall orange, red, and gold. First up is a card using the larger of the dies, and a sentiment from Dad's Day. My second card uses the smaller of the Maple Leaves Die, and a sentiment from Weathering the Storm Together.  Here is the brayer sheet as I started cutting: And finally, the third of the trio uses the new Thank You for Being You stamp set, as well as the larger die. There are two other new leaf dies as well, that are just as fabulous, so be sure to check them out too!

Creating 4x4 Repeating Backgrounds with Judy Rozema

by Judy Rozema on Aug 17 2020
Hello Everyone! Happy Monday!Today I am sharing creations made with 4x4 repeating background stamps. These stamps are fabulous, not only for their images, but because you can make them as large or as small as you would like. They repeat on all four sides, making them easy to line up to create larger backgrounds. First up is Moths from the August release. With this card, I stamped twice (one on top of each other) using Versamark ink. The MISTI makes lining things up so easy! I embossed with Clear Embossing Powder to make those little moths shine. I found some patterned paper that coordinated with my cardstock, and added twine down the side. Can you find the hidden sequins on some of the dots? They are from the Screwdriver Sequin Mix. The sentiment is from the previously released A Dose of Vitamin Sea. Next up is the previously released Reindeer Games. These tiny little guys will steal your Christmas cardmaking heart! They are so cute. With this card, I stamped and lined up four times: once on top, and twice on the sides for a wider image panel. It has a similar layout with twine, patterned paper and a single sentiment, which is from Inside Quotes: Christmas. My background was made using a smooshed ink technique with Distress Oxide inks. Next is On A Seahorse's Dreams, where I used just the 4x4 image, without adding any additional image stamping. I embossed with Gold EP, and added some metallic thread. The sentiment is the I Miss You Word Die. While it is currently sold out (you can see why - it's awesome!), there are many others that you could use in its place. The background on this card is a watercolor wash. The base panel is printed vellum on black cardstock. Next up is Loads of Mail. With this card, I stamped and lined up twice - on top of each other, but used less of the width, to have room for the sentiment. So it's less than 4 inches wide. But what a graphic statement it made for this card! I used a sentiment from Spotlight on You down the side, and the awesome Paul James Guy (and die!) for a masculine birthday card. Finally, while it's fun to line up and repeat, it's also fun to use partial images, as I did above, but even more so with the newly released Hope Ribbons. I used a circle die to cut out different sizes and make an uplifting card, using orange, which is the ribbon support color for Leukemia. The sentiment is from A Dose of Vitamin Sea. Those little rhinestones added a touch of sparkling hope! I hope you have enjoyed this look at some of the 4x4 repeating background stamps, and will give them a try! I definitely recommend the MISTI to help you succeed in lining up the images! You can see more of my projects (including other 4x4) on my blog:Joy in a JAR.

New Release Fun Continues

by Lisa Henke on Jul 15 2020
The new release is amazing. I hope you checked out all the new products and what the DT created with all the goodness yesterday. You can find all the NEW RELEASE HERE! It was full of fall and Christmas stamps but I wanted to ink up this new Shading Flower Stencil. It's a beautiful image and makes beautiful cards. I have two cards, one with bright cheerful colors and another one monochromatic .  The first one I created with colors from this week's Color Throwdown Challenge. I inked up the flower with Salty Ocean, Dried Marigold, and Mowed Lawn Distress inks. I used post-it notes to cover up areas I didn't want to transfer other colors to. The Life Changing Blender Brushes make the ink blending easy and quick. Once the ink was dry, I added a sentiment from More Fancy Sentiments with Intense Black Ink.     I added some gold splatter with Golden Rose Paper Glaze. I added a bit of water to thin it out and then flicked it on to my card base with a paint brush. I finished it off with a little more shimmer thanks to Spiced Cider Sequin Mix.  I didn't want to put this Shading Flower Stencil away, just yet. I wanted to create another card, this time in a monochromatic color scheme. I used Speckled Egg and lightly added in touched of Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink. I kept th layout the same but wanted to show how easy you can switch up a card with color.   I used a different sentiment from More Fancy Sentiments and used sequins from Martini Mix Sequins.  Thanks for stopping by today. Grab a Life Changing Blender Brush and a Stencil and have some fun.

Release Day!! Rainbow BFF My Tribe cards with Erica!

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Apr 14 2020
Hi guys and HAPPY RELEASE DAY!!  Today is the 14th, which means a new release from Picket Fence Studios! I'm popping in with a couple of cards made with the BFF My Tribe stamp. In these uncertain and scary times where we can't be with our friends, it's a nice reminder that, whilst not physically together, we are stronger together. Even in spirit or via FaceTime.  I did two cards for this post, one with Copics and one with Zig markers. There is also a YouTube video over on my channel if you want to have a look at the rest of the release as well as the making of these cards.  With the help of my new black, shiny and pretty Mini MISTI I stamped the BFF My Tribe up with Black Hybrid ink on Neenah #110 card stock and Bristol Vellum paper. The one on Bristol I also stamped with VersaMark ink and sprinkled Clear Gloss embossing powder on, which I set with my heat tool.  However I cleaned it off with the Stamp Scrubber in between though. I don't want to contaminate my ink pad and the Stamp Scrubber gets all the ink out of the nooks and crannies. I love the fact that it only has to be wetted with water, and you don't have to use any nasty smelling chemicals with it, for it to work. Then when it's dirty, you just wash it with some soap and you are good to go!  The BFF My Tribe images themselves have been coloured in a rainbow fashion, I tried sticking to the same colours and shades in the same places, as much as possible on both cards. Not sure why I felt the need to do that, but I love how they turned out. I do have to work on my skin tones a bit though, especially with the Copic markers, but that's ok. The colouring challenge #TheDailyMarker30Day is still going on, thank goodness, so I'll be practicing a lot.  With the colouring done on them both, I trimmed the panels down just a smidge to 5.25"x4" and then adhered these to white card bases. A fun sentiment from the I Freaking Love You set, stamped up with Black Hybrid ink later and the cards were done. I *almost* added some clear sequins but managed to rein myself in. What is the world coming to, eh?? LOL!   Well, that's it from me for today but don't forget to check out the rest of the release HERE.  Thanks for stopping by, lots of love and big hugs from Erica.
